www.cryo.com.au This week's podcast interview is with the directors, Jacob Ohlson & Scott Forrest of cryo.com.au, the new cryotherapy clinic based in Sydney, Australia. Jacob Ohlson started his first business, a successful IT services company at the age of 17. With his passion for technology, health & fitness, Jacob founded Cryo after personally experiencing the health benefits of cryotherapy. Scott Forrest is a digital marketing strategist with over 20 years of marketing and communications management experience. He was drawn to cryotherapy because of his health issues (which we will discuss in the interview). I have a lengthy chat with Jacob & Scott about the clinic; what cryotherapy is all about; the benefits of doing it and what to expect at your first session. We also discuss the cryohacking (cryotherapy + biohacking) experiment I tried - pretty crazy stuff. If you've never tried cryotherapy before, then make sure you give it a go, it really is an exhilarating experience that has a multitude of health benefits! Let me know what you think! Days 2-4 of the Wim Hof Method workshop Before you start, have you read Part 1 & Part 2 yet?? http://www.livinglimitlessly.com/wim-hof-1 http://www.livinglimitlessly.com/wim-hof-2 Going deep With every day that passed, it became apparent that the more breathing we did that oxygenated our bodies, the deeper we went into our cells and did a big clean up. The waste was then released in all different ways. Some people had ‘interesting’ eliminations (think number 2); others had physical signs such as bruising all over their body; and the most common one for all of us was having an emotional release. It was not unusual to sit up after a breathing session & look around to see that most people were teary. Every day was different as to whether it tapped into just a small realisation or something really deep and profound. One person in the group had really huge releases & would sob uncontrollably at every session. This also meant that there was a lot of bonding amongst the group. I have to say that in my entire life, I’ve barely managed to see a single male get overly emotional. At the workshop, with 57 males all experiencing emotional releases, I’ve never seen so many guys cry in my life! It was amazing & such an important transformational shift for men to be able to show vulnerability like that. It’s good for the mind, body & spirit to let shit go! Migraine & WHM On day 2 & 3 I had a bad headache (for those of you that follow me, then you will know I suffer from migraine pain). The only good thing about having the migraine at the workshop was that I had the space & time to just let it be and play itself out. I didn’t add to it by stressing about having to go to work or needing to be somewhere. This in itself brought up a lot of ‘stuff’ for me. Luckily, there was a lady there that practiced kinesiology so she helped me to release those issues that contributed to my headache pain. Doing the WHM breathing was interesting, as the breathing in itself would make my head pound with pain. This makes sense as migraine's are vascular in nature, meaning they are to do with the blood vessels. Reduced blood flow in the veins results in, a lack of oxygen in the tissues, and changes in the brain’s chemistry. When an irritation occurs, fluid and protein leave the blood stream and enter the tissue spaces. This slows down the exchange of oxygen and nutrients at the cell level. This, in turn, causes the release of substances that greatly dilate the blood vessels. Local tissue injury and swelling occur as a result – which is why there is great pain associated with migraine. So whilst doing the WHM breathing, the veins would be contracting, causing even more pain. What was great though, is that an hour or so later after the breathing session, the headache would seem to subside and ease off a bit. This is most likely because the increased amounts of oxygen in the blood would also raise oxygen levels in the brain. More ice baths Evey day brought more ice baths & by the second day there were multiple sessions. The ice baths also grew in duration until, on the final day, it was for 10 minutes!! What’s important to note about the ice baths is that they are an important tool in this method. Aside from the health benefits of cold therapy, Wim also says that the reason for the ice baths are to remind us of how to use the WHM breathing technique correctly. Fundamentally, if you are in an ice bath & you do not do the breathing correctly, then you will not survive the ice bath without side affects. The ice bath forces you to focus on the method to ensure you are able to withstand the cold & to maintain your core body temperature. So many reasons to breathe! Knowing that you are able to consciously affect your autonomic nervous system is amazing. It is the only method that I have learnt where I can immediately see the benefits of how I have affected my body. The part of my body that would normally operate automatically without any conscious input from me. It’s beyond amazing. It’s what makes this method life changing. No longer am I at the whim (sorry! I had to do it!) of what my body wants to do, but what I, want it to do. It really makes me feel like becoming 'superhuman' is in the realms of possibility. Wim not only taught us how to breathe to regulate our core body temperature & raise our alkalinity, he also taught us how to activate our brown adipose tissue (aka BAT or brown fat). BAT burns at a higher metabolic rate than white fat, but unfortunately as we get older, we seem to lose it. With Wim’s help, we are able to regenerate more brown fat, which in turn, burns more energy. That means…you guessed it…a higher metabolism. Another amazing technique he taught us was how to access our own DMT (Dimethyltryptamine). Read more here... Blog Post for #18 A warning from Innerfire.nl - important message, please read carefully: The breathing exercise has a profound effect and should be practiced in the way it is explained. Always do the breathing exercise in a safe environment (e.g. sitting on a couch/floor) and unforced. Never practice the exercises before or during diving, driving, swimming, taking a bath or in any other environment/place where, should you pass out, a serious injury could occur. Wim Hof breathing may cause tingling sensations and/or lightheadedness. If you’ve fainted, it means that you went to far. Take a step back next time. The cold is a powerful force. We strongly advise to gradually build up exposing yourself to the cold. Always train without force and listen to your body carefully. If it is not practiced responsible, there is a risk of hypothermia. Do not practice the method during pregnancy or when having epilepsy. Persons with cardiovascular health issues, or any other (serious) health conditions, should always consult a medical doctor before starting with the Wim Hof Method.

'Dressed To Kill', bras & breast cancer, culturogenic disease Sydney Ross Singer is a medical anthropologist and the co-author (with his wife Soma) of several groundbreaking and controversial health books, and the co-director of the Institute for the Study of Culturogenic Disease. Sydney was trained in biochemistry, anthropology and medicine. He is internationally recognized for his revolutionary and shocking research linking breast cancer with the wearing of tight bras, as described in the book, Dressed To Kill. He and Soma currently live in Hawaii, on a rainforest preserve, where they grow their own food, produce their own energy and perform lifestyle research on various culture caused diseases. This podcast interview is definitely one to keep an open mind about before listening! It’s good to hear all sides of a story before discarding anything as ridiculous - usually my philosophy on things. So having said that, this really is an interesting concept. One that leaves people having very strong feelings about! During this interview we discuss the research & findings of Syd’s bra and breast cancer research which was the input to his booked “Dressed To Kill”. Published over 20 years ago, and quite controversial (not just then but even now), finally there is more & more research supporting Syd’s claim that tight bras can cause cancer. I personally have reduced my bra-wearing time – even prior to hearing about Syd & his research & was fascinated by what happened to me. Which then, after reading his book & talking to him, all makes sense & fits perfectly. Syd is really knowledgeable and very interesting to talk to, so I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed talking to him If you want to find out more about his research beyond this interview, then make sure you read his book, “Dressed To Kill". This book is not written in a super scientific way, so it’s easy to read & understand…and at the same time, it’s really interesting, as it talks about Soma’s journey with cancer. The Maritime Lemonade Stand, Globetrotting This podcast interview is one of my faves because it's with my 'real life' friend Aric. We used to live in Shanghai at the same time where we met back in...ahem...2008...which seems soooooo long ago now! ha ha This interview will give you a glimpse into Aric's free spirited life. Aric doesn't really think that money is a high priority when globetrotting! True story...in fact, in the interview he talks about one of his 'little' adventures, ie riding a push-bike across Europe with no money and only his bike & back pack. Since leaving Shangers - (that's what we locals used to call Shanghai)...I've followed Aric's world-wide adventures on facebook and they really have been amazing. In this interview we also talk about his latest adventure - The Maritime Lemonade Stand...ha ha ha...I don't want to spoil it, so have a listen to the interview where he tells all. Luckily for me, not only does Aric entertain me with his adventures, but he is also a fantastic photographer AND writes with great humour...triple threat! #boom I know you're really going to enjoy this podcast & after it, you'll be running off to research Aric & all of his stories because it's super interesting! You won't be disappointed. Holosync Bill Harris is all about a limitless mind. Bill has been a personal development seeker, teacher, public speaker, author, therapist, workshop leader, and business owner for more than 35 years, and has become one of the world’s best-known personal growth teachers. A featured teacher in The Secret, Bill is best known for creating Holosync audio technology, currently used by nearly two million people in 193 countries. Bill started Centerpointe Research Institute in 1989 with borrowed recording equipment set up on his kitchen table. In addition to his own workshops and video courses, Bill is a frequent speaker at scientific and transformational forums and conferences and is known for his ability to explain difficult subjects in an engaging and easy to understand way. He has shared the stage with many top human potential leaders, including The Dalai Lama, Jack Canfield, Dr. Stephen Covey, and Ken Wilber, and in 2003 was invited to address the United Nations Values Caucus. If you have already read my previous post on Holosync meditation then you will know that I am a user & great advocate of the Holosync meditation track. Luckily for me, whilst I was at the 2015 Bulletproof conference, I was fortunate enough to be at a dinner with Bill and had a chance to sit & chat with him. Then, I got even more lucky. Just as he was about to leave, I very casually said, well maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to have you on my podcast & he said “sure why not, just email my assistant to organise it”…well, I nearly fell off my chair because I had said it very tongue-in-cheek, as I know Bill is a very busy & highly sought after speaker! So why would he agree to come on my little-old-unknown-podcast??…but what a truly giving man! He said yes without any hesitation in the true spirit of spreading the word! So thank you again Bill! So what is this ‘Holosync’? Holosync is a sophisticated form of neuro-audio technology that allow you to create many desirable mental, emotional and spiritual changes through entrainment of electrical patterns in the brain. A balancing between the brain hemispheres, enhances your emotional health and mental functioning. This creates new neural connections between the right and left brain hemispheres, leading to what is known as “whole brain functioning.” Click here to read more about the Holosync product In this podcast, Bill talks about how he created Holosync; he breaks down in simple terms exactly how it works and he also talks about his latest book “The Science of Super Awareness”. This is a really fantastic interview. Bill is very forthcoming in his experiences and is an amazing story-teller. He explains things so that it is all very relatable and easy to understand. I’m so grateful for Bill’s time & this amazing conversation, my favourite quote is when Bill states that ‘awareness gives you choices’…that really struck a chord with me…it’s so true and if you can really grasp this concept, will set you well on the path to having a limitless mind – listen to the podcast to see what he means by this. As a contribution to your limitless mind, please feel free to go & get a copy of Bill’s Holosync track and try it for free and let me know how you find it. It has definitely changed my life! mt xxx Hack your life to health, happiness & abundance #superhumanyou

I did this interview with Dr Hill prior to my trip to LA & then was fortunate enough to catch up with him when I was there last year for Dave Asprey’s 2015 Bulletproof conference made a special little visit to his new clinic – the Peak Brain Institute. I was lucky enough to get hooked up with the latest technology (see below). A wireless neurofeedback machine & it read my brain waves…ummmm…not so good!! Max & I have become good friends over the past year since we first met during his Kickstarter campaign for Bread Head. This is such an important & personal journey that he is embarking on & I can only admire the work that he is doing in advocating & educating on optimal cognitive function for a limitless mind! The Earthpulse (Part 1) In my last few posts I've talked about how important sleep is. Firstly how lack of sleep can affect your health. Secondly how to actually get some good quality sleep with some sleep hacks. This interview with Paul Becker talks about his invention, the Earthpulse which is another amazing, not only sleep hack, but health hack. The Earthpulse is all about living limitlessly with limitless health. I have been using the Earthpulse, every night while I sleep, for the past 18 months. 'What is that?' you may ask. Well, it's a pulsed electro-magnetic frequency machine (PEMF for short) that helps you sleep better and also assists your body's natural healing process whilst you are sleeping. Yes! I said the word 'healing'! Now I can hear you ask 'how?'…right? Well, for a start, It's so good, it's made me a mind reader...ha ha. Paul Becker For the next two weeks, I have a very special podcast guest - Paul Becker, the inventor of the Earthpulse. In this two part interview he explains how he came to design the Earthpulse; he talks about how electricity works in healing your body; and he tells us about the amazing benefits to your health from using the Earthpulse while you sleep at night – it really does give you an advantage towards limitless health. My sleep has improved since using the Earthpulse - I sleep for longer (my sleep was getting shorter & shorter by the minute!) and I wake up feeling so refreshed in the morning - kinda like when you go camping or when you've been at the beach all day...that really good type of sleep. I can also tell you that it has definitely helped with my migraines AND my breath hold has improved - Paul will explain what breath hold is in the interview - it's a guide to see how much your mitochondria is improving. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away, but this is a really interesting interview and I was lucky enough to (still) be the only person that Paul has done an interview with, where you get to see his face! Enjoy!... and if you don't have an Earthpulse yet, then I dare say you will want one by the end of this two-part interview, because everyone should really have one for living limitlessly with limitless health. Watch out for the special code included in Part 2. You can have it all...hack yourself to health, happiness & abundance mt xxx
Stretch Therapy (Part 2) I hope you enjoyed last week's interview with Kit Laughlin talking about Stretch Therapy. Here is Part 2 and he imparts just as much wisdom (if not more) than in the last video! Health, happiness & abundance mt xx
Stretch Therapy (Part 1) What is Stretch Therapy? How I discovered Stretch Therapy...I have been practicing yoga for over a decade. Of course, my flexibility, range of movement and general health has improved over the years because of it. I don't easily hurt myself when twisting or doing sudden movements because I'm flexible and supple. In general, I easily go into certain postures like kneeling, squatting and sitting cross-legged on the floor. Over the years though, certain parts of my body have been "stuck", no matter what I did. I did emotional work on these areas through kinesiology, I practiced my yoga & stretched more often, but.....NOTHING! It was as if, I had reached the limit to my mobility for these areas. Except, I knew that was not correct & that I SHOULD be able to go further...I wanted the mobility I was entitled to dammit!! So as usual, I was on a mission to 'fix' this! I had a vision that what these areas in my body needed, was to be massaged whilst I was in a particular pose, so that there was a "release" which would allow me to go further into the stretch. I came across Stretch Therapy quite unexpectedly (watch the video to hear the story) and it kind of does that. Not exactly as I had envisioned, but in essence, there are some special techniques that Stretch Therapy utilises, to get your body to release further into a particular pose. Kit Laughlin, the creator of Stretch Therapy gives this explanation on his website about what it is, "...a comprehensive system that includes stretching, fascial remodelling, strengthening, neural re-patterning, and relaxation. The goals are grace and ease, and this is experienced as enhanced awareness and elegance in movement". One of the techniques they use is the 'contract and release' method. What you do is, go into a particular stretch/pose, then you do an opposing contraction (you can get a better understanding of what this means in Kit's videos and books) then, once you hold that contraction for some time, say 10 seconds, you release the contraction which will enable you to go further into the original stretch/pose you attempted. It really is amazing because you see the results immediately & it's so simple to do and you feel really loose & free afterwards. I have been going to the Sydney Stretch Therapy studio for the past 18 months and it has helped me in a number of different ways: more awareness throughout my whole body improved flexibility reduced tension in my neck & shoulders, which has helped with reducing my migraines improved stability getting closer to my goal of doing the splits (both side & front!) Kit shares a lot of his stories in this interview which will be in 2 parts over the next two weeks - Part 1 is below. I highly recommend you listen, as he is very knowledgeable & wise! I also suggest that you look into Stretch Therapy to enhance any of your current stretching practices (eg, yoga or pilates) or if you don't have one, then this is a great place to start! The great thing is, If you can't make it to a studio, then Kit has many videos on youtube (free) & vimeo (small fee) to follow along with, that will make you feel amazing and see results in your body, in a short period of time - the perfect practice for living limitlessly. Looking forward to your feedback on how you go with Stretch Therapy! Hack yourself to health, happiness & abundance mt xx
GMOs, MADGE.org Fran Murrell is one of the co-founder's of MADGE along with Jessica Harrison and Glenda Lindsay. They started MADGE in 2007 because the Victorian Government’s ban on growing GM canola was about to expire in 2008. "Mothers Are Demystifying Genetic Engineering" or "Mothers Advocating Deliciously Good Eating" They are a group of self-funded volunteers who are motivated by the concerns about what is happening to our food. MADGE knows that most people have no idea what GM is or, that they are likely to be eating it every day. Almost all GM ingredients are unlabeled. Therefore, even if people want to avoid eating GM, it is very hard to do. They think that this is an unacceptable experiment on the general public.
