This is the last week of our series on the Courageous Church. We began by looking at several stories in the Book of Daniel to gain inspiration from four Hebrew young men who stood their ground in courage and as a result made a difference in their world. Then we began to break down the Mission Statement of PBCC to its four components: Connect, Grow, Serve, and Go, and learned how to do these things with courage. We began with the first concept: Courageous Connecting. We learned that nothing we do here at PBCC will mean anything if we haven't first established a right relationship with God through a connection with Jesus; and then we saw how important it was to BE the church - to come and connect with others in meaningful ways. Then we focused on the second concept: Courageous Growing. There we learned how important it is to get God's word into us, how growing in our spiritual lives is a healthy thing and how discipleship can make a difference in our growth.Last week, we had a guest speaker, Paul Becker, who showed us a practical way of living out the third concept: Courageously Going. Yeah, that's out of order but we had Paul for one particular week, and so that's how things lined up for us. BUT...as Paul spoke, I hope you saw that, though it would be awesome for people to step out in faith to serve on short-term mission teams overseas, GOING doesn't just mean overseas. It means being involved with the expansion of God's kingdom wherever God leads you: in your own neighborhood, in the larger community, in planting churches, or in serving on a foreign mission field. It's all part of the process of courageously going.Today, we come to the concept that comes THIRD in our mission statement - Courageously Serving. And we're going to talk about how that looks like as we continue to minister to the body here at PBCC.Here's a question that I want you to consider as we look at God's Word today: What practical actions can I take right now to take this next step in my responsibilities in God's Upside Down Kingdom? This morning, I want to turn to the writings of the Apostle Paul for some answers to that question, especially in his letter to the disciples living in the city of Ephesus.
From Cathy C yesterday: Hello Carole and Patty! I hope your travels to Columbus went smoothly and that you are getting settled into your hotel. Fortunately the weather is pretty nice here today, though it's supposed to thunderstorm tonight. I will be taking you around to your appointments tomorrow. You may need to bear with me because I am not an old hand at getting around the Statehouse, but our legislative appointments are all in the Riffe Building, which is the tall building across High Street from the Capitol. That is pretty easy to get around once you figure out the elevator system. How about I pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning? We can make the short drive to the Capitol, which has underground parking, then walk to the Riffe. That should be plenty of time to get us to our 9 a.m. appointment. The hearing is 3-5 p.m. and again starting at 7 p.m. I'll have to leave you all briefly at 5 p.m. for an appointment to talk about this bill with my own House representative, but I can meet up with the group for dinner wherever you all decide to go. My husband, Paul Becker, and I will both be testifying again, hopefully during the 7 p.m. time since he has to be at University of Dayton every day this week. As for tonight, if you are up for it, the Short North is a short distance from downtown and has tons of restaurants, shops, small businesses, etc. Northstar has the best black bean veggie burger in the country (IMHO), and Z Pizza next door has a great vegan and vegetarian pizza. Glad you all are here, and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow! I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story. The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/ I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story. My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet. Two days after our most recent Symposium we sat down with Paul Becker and Kegan Dillon to review the events, address a listener request, and discuss the Friday night screening of "Pushing the Limits", a 1994 French extreme sports movie. We got this particular Symposium right by asking more questions than we provided answers and by creating an environment within which attendees were comfortable asking questions that were relevant to them individually. The level of honesty and intimacy that prevailed was as emotionally overwhelming as anything any of us had experienced. But it wasn't all heavy — plenty of laughter carried over from the gathering to the podcast — because who doesn't appreciate the idea of Kegan, aka The Son of Distance, directing the Endurance lessons? After all, he is Endurance Jesus.

Determination, integrity, and kind...these are the characteristics that I think of when I think about Paul Becker. Paul talks about how learning to be himself has helped him grow Art Money in the U.S. market.
In one of the longest episodes to date, Paul Becker, aka “The Crimson Bashar” returns to talk about his journey into “movie land”. The guys fall into every rabbit hole, and Michael finally tires of talking.
Paul Becker is a Producer in VFX/3D, but he prefers the title “Crimson Bashar”. His list of credits in film is mind-blowing. He has watched from close proximity the effects that Mark and Michael’s training philosophy had on set, noting the especially strong transformations that occurred behind the scenes. From his position of “selling the unreal” he is the perfect person to comment on what he thought was possible with the human body. After years of curiosity, Paul finally took the plunge and attended their symposium, finding common language and a familiarity in the philosophy of effort.

Paul Becker, founder and CEO of Art Money, talks about how Art Money enables art buyers to pay for a work of art from a gallery over 10 months while the gallery owner gets paid in 10 days (helping the gallerist pay the artist sooner too.) This art buying model solves a stalemate between buyers—who want to purchase art but feel it is more responsible to pay for the works over time—and sellers who do not want to play the role of a bank. Becker explains that 90% of his customers can afford to pay for their art upfront but it is a powerful psychological enabler for them to be able to pay over time. More important, Becker explains, Art Money takes a widespread practice among art market veterans—paying for a work of art over time—and makes it available to new buyers who may not know that some galleries will over such terms to buyers. "We allow people," Becker says, "to say 'Yes!'"
The 2016 World Choreography Awards were held in Hollywood last night and MIH was on the red carpet! The event honors the best in media choreography. When I was in high school, I used to choreograph cheerleading routines and it was the best thing happening in my life. And that was on such a small scale, I can't imagine choreographing huge routines for commercials, films and televisions. But that's what these dancers were being honored for last night at The Montalban Theater in Hollywood. Choreographers were nominated for Motion Picture Television Episodic, Commercials, Television Reality Show/Competition, Music Videos, Television Award Show/Special, Digital Content, Digital Content Independent, Live Stage Performance. Allison Holker and Stephen Boss at the 2016 World Choreography Awards in Hollywood I interviewed nominee Allison Holker and her husband Stephen "Twitch" Boss about the digital commercial she choreographed and starred in for HP. She tells me she worked hard to translate their idea into a dance on camera. Christina Applegate at the 2016 World Choreography Awards in Hollywood I also spoke to Christina Applegate about her love of dance and why she was at the awards last night. She was presenting the In Memoriam for choreography legend Doug Caldwell who passed away in August. Christina told me about the powerful effect he had on her life as a choreographer, and friend. In fact, dance has been such a huge part of her life since she was a young girl and she was very emotional when telling me about Doug's role in her journey. One of my favorite moments of the night was interviewing world-renowned choreographer Anita Mann. She's an Emmy-award winning choreographer, as well as a dancer and actress. Her choreography credits include 5 seasons on the 1980s pop dance television show, Solid Gold, for which she was nominated twice for a Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Choreography, "The Muppets Go Hollywood" for which she was nominated for her first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. She shared a story with me about getting her start in the industry working as a background dancer with Elvis Presley. yes, THAT Elvis! It's such a delight to hear her talk about her work with Elvis! Choreographer Anita Mann at the 2016 World Choreography Awards The show featured live performances by choreographers Liz Imperio, “Kida”, Paul Becker, The Joe Tremanie Faculty and Dancers, Anthony W. In 1990 during his first year of law school, Paul stumbled upon early TENS therapy which stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and used it to help reverse a case of tendinitis that persisted for more than 2 months. He graduated from Pepperdine Law School in 1994 and passed the California bar in 1996. In 96 the Whole Life Expo in Los Vegas, Nevada: Becker had the opportunity to hear Bob Beck speak about using electric current and how applying this current to the post points of the wrists could be used to kill micro organisms in the blood. This led Becker on what would turn out to be a life-long research quest into the most efficient electric and magnetic therapies that had either been lost in time or hidden by the main stream medical community. In May 2002 after designing several milliAmpere and microAmpere electric stim system prototypes, he produced his first Earth Pulse PEMF system, tested its efficiency and filed his first patent in October of that year. Earth Pulse has since been in commercial production since 2002 and over fifteen thousand units have been sold and are used by clients around the world who rely on the earth pulse to improve mitochondria health, get a deeper, more restful nights sleep & accelerate their recovery. In Paul's words “Nearly all psychological, neurological and physiological disease including aging is the end result of mitochondrial dysfunction and definitely not the other way around.” In today's episode we talk about the incredible benefits that myself and other people have experienced using PEMF technology; harmful chemicals that show up in countless everyday consumer products and how to avoid them; the latest research on PEMF and how clients are using it as ergogenic aid to improve performance and various other applications; how it can be used to improve sleep and elevate symptoms of neurological diseases like Parkinsons and much much more. So without further ado sit back, relax and enjoy my conversation with Paul Becker. Three years ago, an inventor named Paul Becker joined me for a podcast entitled "". In it, Paul talks about a special "PEMF" device called "". I also mention my own use of this little doughnut-shaped magnetic device for enhancing sleep in the sleep-hacking chapters of my and also in the recent article Today Paul's back. But he's not here to fill us in on how PEMF can make us sleep better. Instead, we're going to talk about the legal performance enhancing effects of PEMF, and exactly how to use something like for way more than sleep. During this episode, you'll discover: -How electrical stimulation can be used to kill bacteria and viruses... -How to triple your mitochondrial density while you are sleeping... -Why earthing, grounding and sleeping outside on the earth is much different than use of a PEMF device... -Why the PEMF emitted by a device is different than what is emitted from a cell phone... -The correct way to use PEMF to increase rate of tissue repair... -How PEMF affects the nervous system and HRV... -And much more... The Earthpulse (Part 1) In my last few posts I've talked about how important sleep is. Firstly how lack of sleep can affect your health. Secondly how to actually get some good quality sleep with some sleep hacks. This interview with Paul Becker talks about his invention, the Earthpulse which is another amazing, not only sleep hack, but health hack. The Earthpulse is all about living limitlessly with limitless health. I have been using the Earthpulse, every night while I sleep, for the past 18 months. 'What is that?' you may ask. Well, it's a pulsed electro-magnetic frequency machine (PEMF for short) that helps you sleep better and also assists your body's natural healing process whilst you are sleeping. Yes! I said the word 'healing'! Now I can hear you ask 'how?'…right? Well, for a start, It's so good, it's made me a mind reader...ha ha. Paul Becker For the next two weeks, I have a very special podcast guest - Paul Becker, the inventor of the Earthpulse. In this two part interview he explains how he came to design the Earthpulse; he talks about how electricity works in healing your body; and he tells us about the amazing benefits to your health from using the Earthpulse while you sleep at night – it really does give you an advantage towards limitless health. My sleep has improved since using the Earthpulse - I sleep for longer (my sleep was getting shorter & shorter by the minute!) and I wake up feeling so refreshed in the morning - kinda like when you go camping or when you've been at the beach all day...that really good type of sleep. I can also tell you that it has definitely helped with my migraines AND my breath hold has improved - Paul will explain what breath hold is in the interview - it's a guide to see how much your mitochondria is improving. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away, but this is a really interesting interview and I was lucky enough to (still) be the only person that Paul has done an interview with, where you get to see his face! Enjoy!... and if you don't have an Earthpulse yet, then I dare say you will want one by the end of this two-part interview, because everyone should really have one for living limitlessly with limitless health. Watch out for the special code included in Part 2. You can have it all...hack yourself to health, happiness & abundance mt xxx
My wife makes fun of me. She calls me a "sleep princess". This is probably because I've been really geeking out on how to sleep better. After all, it's during sleep that we experience a significant amount of repair, recovery, immune system enhancement, cognition, learning and memory capability, gene regulation, appetite regulation, hormone production and cellular turnover. And that means lack of sleep can leave you sore, unsexy and stupid. So I've been prioritizing sleep (and especially deep sleep) quite a bit. For example, before bed, I typically consume about 400-500mg - and if it's been a tough workout day, I also throw in a serving or two of MillenniumSports . At this point in the night, I've also been ensuring I don't shut down melatonin release from artificial light exposure by wearing blue light blocking glasses for any afternoon or early evening computer use, and when I actually do get into bed, I slip into my contoured face mask and fitted ear plugs. Next, I turn on the on my iPhone to block out the sound of the train that goes by our house and the dogs barking in the morning (although I use the for quick afternoon naps). Finally, underneath the mattress is a new toy I've been using - a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) device for enhancing deep sleep cycles – the How exactly does PEMF work to get me to sleep better? If you read my , and how you can use sound and music to change your brain waves, you learned about a specific brain wave frequency called "Delta". Here's the graphic from that post, in case you need a reminder: The human brain, and the brain waves described above, are very sensitive to the Earth’s magnetic fields, which is one of the reasons that trends toward a decrease in sleep duration and suppression of the deepest stages of sleep have been observed in space shuttle missions. Electroencephalograph measurements (EEG) have shown that small, low strength magnetic fields can cause brain wave frequencies to resonate with the frequencies of the magnetic field, and can cause other responses in the brain including: -vascular dilation of brain blood vessels -enhanced melatonin release -electrical stimulation of the hypothalamus for sleep facilitation -reestablishment of circadian rhythms (useful for jet lag, which is why includes me packing the for international travel) -enhanced dream recall (and incidentally, what I have personally found, much more lucid dreams) In with Paul Becker, who is the inventor of the , you not only learn more about how a magnetic field device enhances Delta brain wave production, but also learn how this thing can actually help with cellular respiration, and recovery from workouts. [powerpress] Paul doesn't mention this during the interview, but from the studying that I've been doing, I've learned that a very important part of using PEMF to sleep better is regular use, since this is literally a form of brain entrainment. Here are some of the resources that Paul references during our discussion - and I'll also include a comment below this post that throws more references in for you geeks out there. -Chronic stimulation of rat skeletal muscle induces coordinate increases in mitochondrial and nuclear mRNAs of cytochrome-c-oxidase subunits: Abstract Fast-twitch tibialis anterior muscle of the rat was subjected to chronic low-frequency (10 Hz, 10 h daily) nerve stimulation in order to investigate the time course of changes in cytochrome-c-oxidase activity, as well as in tissue levels of specific mitochondrially and nuclear-encoded, cytochrome-c-oxidase-subunit mRNAs. Chronic stimulation induced a progressive increase in cytochrome-c-oxidase activity which was threefold elevated after 35 days. A similar increase was recorded for citrate-synthase activity. Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, which was studied as a glycolytic reference enzyme, moderately decreased, as did the tissue level of its corresponding mRNA. There was a parallel increase in the tissue levels of the two cytochrome-c-oxidase-subunit mRNAs over the entire stimulation time course. The extent of increase (stimulated/control) was 2.4 +/- 0.3 and 1.8 +/- 0.2 (means +/- SEM) for the mitochondrial and nuclear subunit mRNAs, respectively. This parallel increase suggested a coordinate regulation of the two subunits. The increase in cytochrome-c-oxidase activity initially corresponded to the changes at the mRNA level. However, with longer stimulation times (beyond 14 days), the increase in cytochrome-c-oxidase activity clearly exceeded that of the two mRNAs. This divergence was progressive and was interpreted to indicate that the increase in cytochrome-c-oxidase content was brought about not only by changes in the levels of the specific mRNAs, but also by alterations at the level of translation. -Physiological and molecular genetics of time-varying electromagnetic fields on human neuronal cells - Abstract 10 Hz pulsed electromagnetic field caused neural tissue regeneration @ 4x baseline w/ improved 3-D orientation (pg 17); while causing DNA to revert from maturation to developmental! we didn't even touch on anti-aging or loss of performance as one ages (more than 175 maturation genes switched OFF and 150 developmental genes switched ON pgs. 15-18) The implications on longevity are staggering! Developmental gene signature delays / perhaps indefinitely. See . - (shows the chart of mitochondrial density and ATP levels at synapse under 1/2 hz and then at 10 hz) - and this is the link to the entire study: -Mitochondrial delivery is essential for synaptic potentiation, . Abstract Mitochondria, as portable generators that power synaptic function, regulate the ATP supply and calcium homeostasis in the neuron. As molecular interactions within the synapses before and after the potentiation are beginning to be elucidated, the deciding moment during the tetanic stimulation that gives rise to the strengthening of the synapse remains a mystery. Here, I recorded electrically from an intact Drosophila nervous system, while simultaneously using time-lapse confocal microscopy to visualize mitochondria labeled with green fluorescent protein. I show that tetanic stimulation triggers a fast delivery of mitochondria to the synapse, which facilitates synaptic potentiation. Rotenone, an inhibitor of mitochondrial electron transport chain complex I, suppresses mitochondrial transport and abolishes the potentiation of the synapse. Expression of neurofibromin, which improves mitochondrial ATP synthesis in the neuron, enhances the movements of mitochondria to the synapse and promotes post-tetanic potentiation. These findings provide unprecedented evidence that the mitochondrial delivery to the synapse is critical for cellular learning. If you want to geek out on more supplements, tools and gear that I recommend for getting better sleep,
