The Tombstone Thunderbird is a tall tale from 1890 about two cowboys who claimed they shot and killed a mysterious flying creature with a wing span of 160 feet! The news hit the Tombstone Epigraph and became the legend it is today. There is much skepticism and confusion over the pictures and details of this story that have varied as the years go by. It would be confirmed years later that these men did actually see and shoot at something in the sky. What it was is still a mystery. The Solomon Islands are a large chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean near Papua New Guinea that are said to contain a race of ancient giants. Stories of these giants gained popularity after World War II, when Japanese and American soldiers claimed they had encounters with huge, red haired giants, during the battle of Guadalcanal. The indigenous people of the Solomon Islands claimed that these giants are a god-like race that that have lived on the islands since the beginning. Surprise attack is back this week with two stories of the strange, weird and unexplained. On August 21, 1955 a panicking family of eight rushed into the Hopkinsville police station late one night with wild claims of a battle between them and little metallic men from space! This incident has become know as The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter and one of the strangest documented cases of extraterrestrial interaction. Elaborate hoax or true encounter you decide. In 1906 Dr. Clark and his wife wanted to escape their bustling life in New York and took a drive to northern Connecticut. They discovered an off the path section of woods known to locals as the "Dark Entry Forrest" they fell in love with the area and decided to buy a thousand acres and build a getaway for themselves. The couple built a paradise they often vacationed at and loved until the summer of 1918 when things went terribly wrong. After being called away to New York for a medical emergency for 36 hours Dr. Clark returned to find his wife curled on the floor laughing in an inhuman manner claiming the dark shadows of the forrest had come for her. The Chaneques, or Duende, are tiny sprite like creatures in Mexican/Aztec folklore. They are said to guard parts of the forest, and also the land of those that give them gifts. These creatures are mischievous and can be dangerous if not appeased by offerings. The name Chaneques translates to "those who inhabit dangerous places" or "owners of the house" and that's where our story begins. Jose and his friend decided to move out when they were 18, but little did they know that the house they were renting was not exactly empty. Soon after moving in, Jose would hear foots steps in the house when he was alone and he and his roommate started noticing things going missing. Each roommate had their own room which they kept locked, and still things would disappear. Jose, having some knowledge of the chaneques, began to leave small offerings to them, but his roommate did not and soon became the target of these devious entities. The roommate eventually stopped sleeping over at the house after waking up with a small bite mark on his leg. As the news of these occurrences began to spread to their friend group, they began to investigate, eventually finding a small hole in his basement wall that seemed to lead on forever and having windows knocked on and more things moved around in the house. Even with all the events going on in the house Jose decided to have a party one day and that's when the creature was finally spotted by multiple people, causing a panic and a direct contact story that will leave you questioning everything. Megan grew up in a haunted house. Her childhood home was over one hundred years old in Houston Texas. As a child she seemed to be the target of the entity in the home and it did not like Megan. She would be woken up in the middle of the night to sounds of her music box playing and dolls moving. Her room was the old play room and that seemed to be the focus of the activity.
