In 1 Samuel 19, Saul's jealousy of David grows so intense that he openly seeks to kill him. Jonathan, Saul's son and David's close friend, warns David and helps him escape. Michal, David's wife and Saul's daughter, also protects him by deceiving Saul's men. David flees to Samuel in Ramah, where God's Spirit intervenes powerfully—overwhelming Saul's messengers with prophetic worship. Finally, even Saul himself is overcome by the Spirit, stripped of his power and lying helpless, proving that God's hand is upon David and no plan against him can stand.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.“Thank you for listening to SendMe Radio — where we share the Gospel, inspire faith, and keep you connected with powerful stories and updates from around the world. In 1 Samuel 15, God commands Saul to destroy the Amalekites completely. Saul wins the battle but spares King Agag and the best livestock, choosing partial obedience. When confronted, Samuel delivers the timeless truth: “To obey is better than sacrifice.” Because Saul rejected God's word, God rejected him as king. This chapter reminds us that obedience to God's voice is more important than appearances or rituals. Hello! Greetings and welcome to SendMe Radio — Peace, blessings, and love to you! If this is your first time here, welcome to the family! In 1 Samuel 8, the elders of Israel approach Samuel with a bold request: “Appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.” Though Samuel was grieved, the Lord revealed that this was not a rejection of Samuel's leadership, but of God's kingship over His people. Samuel warned them of what a human king would demand—taxes, service, and authority over their lives. Yet the people insisted, desiring to be like other nations rather than embracing the unique identity God had given them. This chapter reveals the dangers of rejecting God's rule for human substitutes and reminds us to place our trust not in earthly leaders but in the eternal King, Jesus Christ. As you reflect on this passage, ask yourself: Are there areas where you've sought human solutions instead of God's perfect plan? Today is a call to realign your heart with the King of kings. Hello! Greetings and welcome to SendMe Radio — Peace, blessings, and love to you! If this is your first time here, welcome to the family! In 1 Samuel 7, we witness Israel turning back to the Lord after years of wandering and defeat. Under the leadership of the prophet Samuel, the people put away their idols, repented, and sought God with all their hearts. At Mizpah, Samuel interceded for them, and when the Philistines attacked, the Lord Himself thundered from heaven, throwing their enemies into confusion and delivering a mighty victory. Samuel then set up a stone and called it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” This chapter reminds us of the power of repentance, the strength of prayer, and the faithfulness of God to fight for His people when they return to Him. Be encouraged today: the same God who thundered for Israel will fight for you. Raise your Ebenezer and testify, “The Lord has helped me this far, and He will not fail me now.” Listen to the full chapter and message right here on SendMe Radio. #SendMeRadio #BibleStudy #1Samuel7 #Ebenezer #GodIsFaithful #Repentance #VictoryInChrist #TheLordFightsForUsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.“Thank you for listening to SendMe Radio — where we share the Gospel, inspire faith, and keep you connected with powerful stories and updates from around the world. In 1 Samuel 6, we see the dramatic return of the Ark of the Covenant after it had brought plagues upon the Philistines. Recognizing that they could no longer keep it, the Philistine leaders sought to send the Ark back to Israel with a guilt offering of gold. They placed it on a new cart pulled by two cows, and without being led, the cows walked directly to Beth Shemesh — a sign that it was truly the God of Israel who had afflicted them. The people of Beth Shemesh rejoiced at the return of the Ark and offered sacrifices to the Lord. Yet the chapter closes with a sober warning: some men looked into the Ark and were struck down because they treated God's holy presence with irreverence. Out of fear, the people cried out, asking, “Who can stand in the presence of the Lord, this holy God?” and arranged for the Ark to be taken to Kiriath Jearim. 1 Samuel 6 reminds us: •God cannot be mocked or treated lightly. •His holiness demands reverence and obedience. •Even in judgment, He shows mercy by restoring His presence to His people.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.“Thank you for listening to SendMe Radio — where we share the Gospel, inspire faith, and keep you connected with powerful stories and updates from around the world. Judges 4 tells the powerful story of how God delivered Israel from the oppressive rule of King Jabin of Canaan through unexpected leaders. After the death of Ehud, the Israelites once again turned away from God, and the Lord allowed them to be oppressed for 20 years by Jabin, whose commander Sisera had 900 iron chariots. God raised up Deborah, a prophetess and judge over Israel, to guide the people. She summoned Barak and delivered God's command: gather 10,000 men to fight Sisera's army at Mount Tabor, and the Lord would give them victory. Barak agreed, but only if Deborah went with him — and she agreed, prophesying that the honor of killing Sisera would go to a woman. The Lord threw Sisera's forces into confusion, and Barak's army defeated them completely. Sisera fled on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. She welcomed him, gave him milk, and let him rest — then, while he slept, she drove a tent peg through his head, killing him. Through Deborah's leadership, Barak's obedience, and Jael's courage, God gave Israel victory over Jabin's army, beginning the nation's liberation from oppression. Themes: •God can use anyone — man or woman — to fulfill His purposes. •Obedience brings victory, even against overwhelming odds. •Deliverance often comes in unexpected ways. #Judges4 #DeborahAndBarak #BibleStudy #WomenOfTheBible #Jael #FaithAndCourage #BibleStories #ScriptureReading #GodsVictory #FaithInAction #OldTestament #BibleTruth #SendMeRadio #ChristianFaith #BiblicalInspirationBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Joshua 24 describes the final public act of Joshua, Israel's leader after Moses. He calls all the tribes of Israel to gather at Shechem, a place with deep spiritual significance in Israel's history. There, he delivers a farewell address and renews the covenant between God and His people. First, Joshua reminds them of everything God has done for them — starting from Abraham's calling, to the deliverance from Egypt, to victories over powerful nations in Canaan. He emphasizes that it was God, not their own strength, that gave them the land, cities, and crops they now enjoy. Joshua then challenges the people to make a decision: serve the LORD wholeheartedly or follow the gods of other nations. He makes his personal stand clear with the famous declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” The people respond by affirming their loyalty to God, acknowledging His deliverance and blessings. Joshua warns them that serving God is a serious covenant and that turning away would bring consequences. They insist they will remain faithful, and he instructs them to destroy any remaining idols and devote themselves to God. Joshua formalizes this commitment by recording their agreement in the Book of the Law of God and setting up a large stone as a physical witness to their vow. After this covenant renewal, the chapter closes with the account of Joshua's death at 110 years old, the burial of Joseph's bones in Shechem (fulfilling a centuries-old promise), and the death of Eleazar the priest. The people of Israel continue to serve the LORD throughout Joshua's life and during the lifetime of the elders who knew him. #Joshua24 #AsForMeAndMyHouse #ServeTheLord #BibleChapterSummary #OldTestament #BibleStudy #CovenantRenewal #FaithfulnessOfGod #ChooseWhomYouWillServe #ScriptureStudy #BibleExplained #BibleTeaching #JoshuaInTheBible #BibleHistory #Shechem #BibleLessonsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Psalm 56 | A Cry of Trust Amid Fear | Episode 5 Public Health Need To Know

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 1, 2025 33:06

Overview Psalm 56 is a heartfelt and powerful expression of trust in God during times of fear and oppression. It is attributed to David and was written when he was seized by the Philistines in Gath (see 1 Samuel 21:10–15). Though his life was in danger, David chose faith over fear, crying out to God for deliverance while declaring his unwavering trust in God's promises. Structure and Themes: 1.Verses 1–2: Plea for Mercy “Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.” David opens with a cry for God's mercy. He is under relentless attack—his enemies hound him day and night. The imagery is intense: they are like beasts trying to “swallow” him. 2.Verses 3–4: Trust in God “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word…” Here David makes a bold statement: even when afraid, he will trust in God. This becomes a central theme—fear does not cancel faith. Trust is based on the reliability of God's Word. 3.Verses 5–7: The Injustice of Enemies “Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.” David describes how his enemies twist his words, plot against him, and seek his downfall. He appeals to God's justice—asking if such evil should go unpunished. 4.Verse 8: God's Care for the Suffering “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” This verse is deeply tender. David believes God is intimately aware of his suffering. Every tear he sheds is collected by God—a metaphor for divine compassion and attention to our pain. 5.Verses 9–11: Confidence in God's Power “When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.” David grows in confidence. He knows that when he cries out, God acts. Repeating the phrase “In God will I praise his word”, he underscores that God's promises are enough to silence his fears. 6.Verses 12–13: Vows and Praise “Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.” The psalm ends in victory. David promises to fulfill his vows of thanksgiving. God has kept him from falling and from death, so he can now “walk before God in the light of the living.” Key Takeaways: Faith and fear can coexist—but faith must lead. God sees every tear and every hardship. Trusting in God's Word brings peace in danger. Praise is a response to God's faithfulness. Summary Verse (Psalm 56:3) “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” This simple but profound statement is a timeless encouragement for anyone facing fear, anxiety, or danger. #Psalm56 #TrustInGod #FaithOverFear #GodSeesMyTears #WhenIAmAfraid #GodIsForMe #FearNot #FaithInDarkTimes #TearsInHisBottle #PraiseInTheStorm #WalkInTheLight #GodDelivers #SpiritualWarfare #ScriptureEncouragement #SendMeRadioBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Test the Spirits (Verses 1–6): Believers are warned not to believe every spirit but to test them to see whether they are from God. A true spirit acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Those who deny this are not from God but from the spirit of the antichrist. 2.God Is Love (Verses 7–21): The second half of the chapter emphasizes that love is the defining mark of God's children. If we truly know God, we will love others—because God is love. •God showed His love by sending His Son to die for our sins. •If God loves us that much, we should also love one another. •Perfect love casts out fear—especially fear of punishment—because love involves trust and intimacy with God. •If someone says, “I love God,” but hates their brother or sister, they are lying.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Exodus chapter 1 opens the second book of the Bible with a dramatic shift in Israel's story. After the death of Joseph and his generation, a new Pharaoh rises in Egypt who does not remember Joseph's contributions. Seeing the Israelites multiply and thrive, the king grows fearful of their numbers and influence. In response, he enslaves them, subjecting them to harsh labor, and sets out to suppress their population growth. Yet, despite the oppression, the more the Israelites are afflicted, the more they multiply and spread. Pharaoh then commands the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, to kill all newborn Hebrew boys, but they courageously disobey, fearing God more than the king. As a result, God blesses them with families of their own. Finally, Pharaoh intensifies his cruelty by commanding all his people to throw every Hebrew baby boy into the Nile River—setting the stage for the dramatic birth of Moses in the following chapter. Deuteronomy 34 is the final chapter of the book and brings closure to the life of Moses, the servant of God. It is a deeply emotional and reverent moment in the biblical narrative. ⸻ Key Highlights: 1. Moses Views the Promised Land (Verses 1–4): God leads Moses to the top of Mount Nebo, to a peak called Pisgah, across from Jericho. From there, the Lord shows him the entire land—Gilead, Naphtali, Ephraim, Manasseh, Judah, and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. Though Moses is allowed to see the land, God tells him he will not enter it. 2. Moses Dies on Mount Nebo (Verse 5): Moses, the servant of the Lord, dies in Moab, just as the Lord said. His death is peaceful and divinely timed—not from illness or battle, but under God's hand. 3. God Buries Moses (Verse 6): God Himself buries Moses in a valley in Moab. To this day, the location of his grave remains unknown. This mysterious burial reflects Moses' unique relationship with God. 4. Moses Was Still Strong (Verse 7): At 120 years old, Moses' eyes were not weak, and his strength was not gone. He died with full vitality—showing that it was purely God's decision to bring his life to a close. 5. Israel Mourns (Verse 8): The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days, marking a full mourning period, and honoring their leader who had guided them for decades. 6. Joshua Succeeds Moses (Verses 9–12): Joshua is filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid hands on him. The people listen to him, and the transition of leadership is affirmed. The chapter closes by honoring Moses: “Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.” Moses had performed great signs, wonders, and miracles, and led Israel with unmatched courage, humility, and divine authority.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.
