Show NotesIf you are not going to stop buying for your youngest child, the hand me down system will not work. Consider trying the clothing capsule (4 bottoms and several tops that coordinate with all bottoms)No one who lives to 100 says that they stayed in the house and read the obituary every day...they all say that they go outside, walk around, get some exercise and have a positive mindset.Dr. Valmarie Rhoden shares her most memorable memory as a teacher.Getting mentally prepared for school is going school numb for a period of time, set boundaries on involvement with communication, then have a time of reflection to be thankful for the time that we are blessed with during our summer (sleeping in late, getting some sun, time with family, naps).Gone are the days of sharing our great ideas and not leveraging the value of our minds as educators. We must make the shift of educator to business person. Ask yourself...what is it that I am bringing to my colleagues that people want so badly.Give yourself credit; Your ideas are worth getting paid for. Be sure to keep small things small in the classroom...remove your emotional self from the situation and look for the cause of the action.
Love the skin that you are in...beauty is temporary, happiness is forever!!! Be sure to take care of the body that you have been blessed with by eating right, exercise, and rest.Always reflect on the why as it pertains to your career; stay transparent with your kids with a balance between sharing just enough, but not too much to make the students lose respect.Take the chance to pour into the students that you DON’T KNOW will be successful. You never know what type of future your moment of belief could catapult a student into. Don’t pick and choose who will and won’t be successful in your classroom. You never know!We have no idea what type of triggers the children of immigrants are experiencing; be sensitive and don’t ignore the issues. Show Notes:Show students that you are exactly who you say you are...be the same person each day. Kids who are experiencing fear and trauma need you to be consistent.
Recap of the show:--Don’t fall for thirst traps...they could be detrimental to your health.--Take what you see on social media lightly and be available on social media and in real life. We are still human and need real human connections.--Things to consider: if you are implementing flexible seating, begin with the end in mind. --You should begin with the end in mind with classroom management as well as standards.-- Keep Tidal if you are a fan of Beyonce!!
