For decades, people along Arkansas's White River reported seeing an enormous grey creature moving beneath the muddy water. In 1937 the sightings sparked a full-scale monster hunt involving armed patrols, a professional diver and hundreds of spectators, before the creature returned more than thirty years later and Arkansas created an official refuge to protect it.The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/white-river-monster-2790/https://time.com/archive/6768313/science-newports-monster/https://aymag.com/arkansas-backstories-white-river-monster/https://www.ozarksalive.com/stories/white-river-monster-long-lived-ozarks-storyhttps://www.entetsu.co.jp/tetsudou/kisaragieki/https://arkansasroadstories.com/monsters/ms3.htmlhttps://whiterivermonster.weebly.com/in-the-press.htmlhttps://www.arkansas.com/state-parks/experiences/park-eventsThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on Thursday.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. For more than a decade, the Procter family and their visitors reported footsteps, violent knocking, moving beds and apparitions inside their home beside Willington Mill in Northumberland. The haunting became so notorious that sceptical surgeon Edward Drury spent the night there in 1840, only to leave after an encounter with a grey-clothed woman that he recorded in writing just days later. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://blogs.ncl.ac.uk/speccoll/2016/10/26/the-haunted-house-at-willington/https://blogs.ncl.ac.uk/speccoll/tag/willington/https://blogs.ncl.ac.uk/speccoll/page/22/https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Notes_on_the_folk-lore_of_the_northern_counties_of_England_and_the_borders/Chapter_10https://www.spr.ac.uk/9-hauntings-and-poltergeistshttps://twsitelines.info/SMR/1177https://www.icysedgwick.com/willington-mill/https://benbeck.co.uk/fh/collaterals/5Oa07cousins.htmlhttps://www.encyclopedia.com/science/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/willington-millThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Every year, as Hungry Ghost Month begins, millions of people across Asia follow traditions that have been passed down for centuries. Offerings are left beside roads, front-row seats remain empty for unseen guests, and children are warned never to whistle after dark. In this episode, we explore the urban legends that surround the seventh lunar month, from ghostly getai audiences and spirits lurking beneath the water to the mysterious sound of marbles rolling across apartment floors in the middle of the night. These are not forgotten folktales from the distant past, they are stories that continue to be told in some of the world's most modern cities. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://www.hawparvilla.sg/hells-museum/https://www.hawparvilla.sg/https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/hungry-ghost-festival-all-you-need-to-know-and-heed-about-the-7th-month-celebrationshttps://www.channelnewsasia.com/cna-insider/hungry-ghost-festival-beliefs-customs-taboos-getai-offerings-2930031https://www.visitsingapore.com/editorials/the-festival-of-the-hungry-ghosts/https://www.nlb.gov.sg/main/article-detail?cmsuuid=5bda4a3f-fdf8-45b2-bd84-4d597c8228f6https://www.roots.gov.sg/ich-landing/ich/hungry-ghost-festivalhttps://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/culture/article/3229093/hungry-ghost-festival-why-chinese-people-burn-paper-money-leave-food-and-avoid-swimming-duringhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Festivalhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getaihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyolhttps://www.homeanddecor.com.sg/design/news/strange-noises-you-hear-at-night-in-your-apartment-what-causes-these-soundshttps://www.reddit.com/r/Paranormal/comments/2ck5oq/hungry_ghost_month_any_interesting_stories/https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/comments/8vl0hx/what_is_the_marble_dropping_sound/https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/comments/3r6mn7/marbles_dropping_sound/https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/8tqz5t/marbles_dropping_sound/https://www.timeout.com/singapore/things-to-do/a-guide-to-the-hungry-ghost-festival-in-singaporehttps://theculturetrip.com/asia/singapore/articles/a-guide-to-singapores-hungry-ghost-festivalhttps://www.remembersingapore.org/2012/08/31/hungry-ghost-festival-superstitions/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on Thursday.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. For sailors travelling under canvas, the doldrums were among the most feared waters on Earth. Ships could remain trapped for days or weeks beneath an unmoving sky as water spoiled, sickness spread and frightened crews searched for supernatural explanations. This episode explores the dark folklore of the dead calm, including wind-calling rituals, cursed “Jonahs,” Neptune's equator ceremonies, phantom ships, the albatross and the terrifying delirium known as calenture. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/doldrums.htmlhttps://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/tradewinds.htmlhttps://archive.org/download/legendssuperstit00bass/legendssuperstit00bass.pdfhttps://archive.org/download/cu31924079619411/cu31924079619411.pdfhttps://ora.ox.ac.uk/objects/uuid%3A53134a1e-1d2f-4d88-909f-f3d840702a8e/files/rtd96k375nhttps://www.brigantineneptun.com/knowledge-base/king-neptune-ceremony-line-crossinghttps://archive.org/download/crossinglinetale00lyde/crossinglinetale00lyde.pdfhttps://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43997/the-rime-of-the-ancient-mariner-text-of-1834https://www.britannica.com/science/calenturehttps://www.britannica.com/place/horse-latitudeshttps://bowcreektoanatahan.wordpress.com/the-sails-hang-dead-a-history-of-the-doldrums/https://blackthornandstone.com/2020/05/21/here-be-monsters-sailor-stories-nautical-folklore/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Deep in the Wayanad district of Kerala stands a massive banyan tree wrapped in heavy iron chains. According to local legend, the spirit of the tribal guide Karinthandan haunted the mountain pass after he was betrayed and murdered, until a local priest chained his restless ghost to the tree. Today, visitors still leave offerings, report strange experiences, and wonder whether the spirit ever truly found peace. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://www.keralatourism.org/destination/chain-tree-lakkidi/246https://www.onmanorama.com/travel/kerala/2019/10/11/chain-tree-lakkidi-wayanad-history-karinthandan.htmlhttps://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/karinthandan-gets-a-statue-in-wayanad/article67313244.ecehttps://www.newindianexpress.com/states/kerala/2023/sep/18/karinthandanfinally-gets-his-due-with-memorial-in-wayanad-2615877.htmlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chain_Treehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KarinthandanThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. To i masa innych informacji z biznesu wokół gier wideo czeka na was w odcinku. Miłego słuchania!(00:00:00) - START!(00:00:07) - Rozgrzewka

After a brief conversation about how AI is helping out at Lifestream, Kyle and Wayne turn to a deeper question: What did Paul mean when he described us as “children of wrath?" Rather than people destined to receive God's anger, could he have been describing those formed by a world of fear, hostility, and vengeance? That distinction opens a wider view of God's character and invites us to reconsider how we read Scriptures' most troubling passages. They also consider the challenge young people face in a digital culture shaped by betrayal, comparison, and the relentless pursuit of approval. How do we become grounded in the Father's love rather than the judgments of the crowd? In a world steeped in wrath, Jesus is forming a people who know how to live as children of love. Wayne and Kyle reflect on the Just Love Conversations recently held in Kansas City through the eyes of those who gathered there with Wayne and Tobie. They do so in the context of considering how easily spiritual truth becomes information to collect, perform, promote, or even monetize without ever transforming the way we think and live. Real change does not come from mastering better ideas, or even sharing them, but from learning to live inside the love of God until we no longer need to extract life, approval, or significance from those around us. The question is not whether we understand love, justice, and grace, but whether those realities are becoming visible in the way we parent, serve, lead, and live. Crater Lake in Oregon is one of America's most beautiful natural wonders, but its history is filled with darker stories. Formed inside the collapsed remains of Mount Mazama, the lake is tied to Klamath sacred tradition, stories of Llao and Skell, vanished aircraft, an unsolved double murder, and the strange floating figure known as the Old Man of the Lake. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/spooky-lakes-volume-2/id1379959217?i=1000697558240https://www.usgs.gov/geology-and-ecology-of-national-parks/geology-crater-lake-national-parkhttps://oe.oregonexplorer.info/craterlake/history.htmlhttps://www.nps.gov/crla/learn/nature/crater-lake.htmhttps://www.nps.gov/crla/learn/historyculture/index.htmhttps://www.craterlakeinstitute.com/smith-chronological-history-of-crater-lake/the-history-from-1900-to-1949/smith-history-98/https://www.craterlakeinstitute.com/smith-chronological-history-of-crater-lake/the-history-from-1950-to-1999/smith-history-135/https://www.craterlakeinstitute.com/crater-lake-new-archives/2000-3/2000-05-3/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In 1968 and 1969, Scottish newspapers reported that a haunted floating island on Loch Garry had broken loose and become wedged against a Bailey bridge near Greenfield. Known locally as Children's Island, it was tied to an old kelpie legend in which seven children were carried into the loch by a water horse, and their red hearts were later said to have appeared on the winter water. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:The Press and Journal, 20 January 1969, "End of Menace in Loch Garry – 'Haunted' Island to Be Cut Up."https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_Garryhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelpiehttps://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Folk-Lore_Journal/Volume_1/Kelpie_Storieshttps://scotlands-stories.com/scottish-kelpie-legends/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Wayne and Tobie van der Westhuizen, coauthors of Just Love, reflect on the Just Love Conversations they hosted last weekend in Kansas City. Their recap includes knowing God's love from the inside—not merely as a truth we believe, but as the very substance of salvation and the source from which we live. They explore how desire can lure us outside the present moment, reaching for possessions, experiences, or relationships to satisfy an ache they were never meant to fill. But as we learn to receive the love and life already given to us in God, we no longer need to take from others to secure our own well-being. Living from fullness frees us to become distributors of life—people whose growing contentment in God expresses itself in generosity, compassion, and the kind of justice that helps set the world right. When Poltergeist was released in 1982, it became an instant horror classic. But in the years that followed, stories of real human skeletons, tragic deaths, on set accidents and whispered blessings gave rise to one of Hollywood's most enduring legends. This week, we explore the making of the film, the strange stories that surrounded it, and the curse that many believe still lingers over the franchise. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://catalog.afi.com/Film/56862-POLTERGEISThttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084516/locations/https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Poltergeist-(1982)https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2025/nov/03/if-id-known-the-skeletons-were-real-id-have-been-even-more-disgusted-how-we-made-poltergeisthttps://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/09/poltergeist-at-40https://library.umbc.edu/specialcollections/garrett/hauntings/poltergeists/seaford-poltergeist/https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/was-twilight-zone-episode-little-girl-lost-inspiration-for-poltergeisthttps://www.horrordna.com/features/interview-oliver-robinshttps://www.biography.com/movies-tv/the-poltergeist-curse-its-heeerehttps://www.dominiquedunne.com/https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/1746/heather-o'rourkehttps://www.findagrave.com/memorial/2887/julian-beckhttps://www.findagrave.com/memorial/6964/will-sampsonThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In 1958, the Herrmann family's ordinary suburban home in Seaford, Long Island, became the centre of one of America's most famous poltergeist cases. On Christmas morning 1964, residents of Warminster, Wiltshire, were disturbed by strange sounds moving over the rooftops. Hidden beneath the Cotswold Hills, its ancient lanes, medieval church and peaceful cottages are said to be haunted by an astonishing number of apparitions. From the mysterious Black Abbot and the terrifying Headless Woman to phantom horsemen and ghostly children, generations of witnesses have claimed that something unseen still walks the village after dark. #współpracakomercyjna #klient Ma 20 lat, zdobyła Mount Everest, została wyróżniona własną lalką Barbie i podróżuje tam, gdzie większość z nas nigdy nie dotrze. To rozmowa o ambicji, odwadze i rozczarowaniu. O zdobywaniu szczytów i o tym, że czasem najtrudniejsze pytania pojawiają się dopiero wtedy, gdy już na nich staniesz.
In the small Somerset village of Sidcot, George Beacham was remembered as a cattle doctor, a conjurer, and a man with knowledge of the old ways. When his final burial wish was ignored, the story says his widow's cottage erupted with moving furniture, falling household goods, and the sound of the dead man's boots coming slowly down the stairs. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://archive.org/stream/historyofsidcots00knig/historyofsidcots00knig_djvu.txthttps://www.sdnq.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Somerset-County-Herald-Notes-and-Queries-1919-transcript-by-Paul-Mansfield.pdfhttps://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/5615/banwell-forthttps://hauntedhosts.com/haunted-places/avon/location/1235-banwell-blown-cross-hauntinghttps://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/2092/wimblestonehttps://www.paranormaldatabase.com/somerset/somedata.phpThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. A small 1994 newspaper clipping from The Scotsman we came across writes about a skull being uncovered on the island of Coll, in a place long known as Hangman's Hill and of the islanders frightened enough to ask the church to bless the ground. Behind the discovery lies an older Maclean clan tradition of murder, revenge, execution, unconsecrated burial, and the belief that some dead do not rest quietly. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:The Scotsman — Monday 4 April 1994 — “Fear of ghosts haunts island”https://macleanhistory.org/resources/texts/the_clan_gillean.txthttps://archive.org/stream/transactions29gaeluoft/transactions29gaeluoft_djvu.txthttps://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/https://archive.org/stream/folklore08folkuoft/folklore08folkuoft_djvu.txtThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In 1856, two young brothers vanished into the Allegheny Mountains, only to be found after a farmer dreamed their location three nights in a row. Decades later, another family claimed a dead father appeared in dreams to reveal a hidden will tucked away in an old Bible. Together, these true paranormal stories explore the unsettling folklore of dreams, ghosts, and the dead who seem determined to be found. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://catbirdlife.com/finding-the-lost-children-of-the-alleghenies/https://uncoveringpa.com/lost-children-of-the-alleghenies-monumenthttps://www.atlasobscura.com/places/lost-children-of-the-alleghenies-monumenthttps://www.thirdstopontheright.com/lost-children-alleghenies/https://openpublishing.psu.edu/pittsburghnovel/content/lost-children-alleghenies-and-how-they-were-found-through-dreamhttps://ourdavie.com/2016/06/09/learn-more-about-the-chaffin-ghost-story/https://www.encyclopedia.com/science/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/ghostly-beingshttps://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/ghosts-and-apparitions-psi-research-overview/https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/93597/time-ghost-had-his-day-courthttps://occult-world.com/chaffin-will-case/https://fairweatherlewis.wordpress.com/2012/10/19/chaffin-v-chaffin-dream-case/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In early eighteenth-century Connecticut, a murdered peddler was found buried beneath Micah Rood's apple tree, his skull shattered and his money gone. When the tree bloomed again, its white blossoms had turned red, and the apples it bore were said to carry a blood-like stain at their core. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Myths_and_Legends_of_Our_Own_Land/Volume_2/Micah_Rood_Appleshttps://www.ctgenweb.org/county/conewlondon/MicahRood.htmhttps://www.applesearch.org/newsletters/2011AppleSearchNewsletter.pdfhttps://www.ctinsider.com/connecticutmagazine/news-people/article/The-disturbing-true-story-behind-Franklin-s-17044838.phphttps://ournewenglandlegends.com/podcast-178-franklins-cursed-apple/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Across Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany and beyond, people have long told stories of ghostly hearses, black coaches and funeral processions seen before a death has happened. Sometimes the sound of wheels is heard on an empty road, sometimes mourners pass silently along an old church path, and sometimes a hearse appears in a mirror before vanishing without trace.
