During the season of Pascha, the Church calls our attention to how particular people responded to our Lord, Who rose from the dead as a whole embodied person on the third day. Thomas did not believe until he saw and touched the wounds of the Risen Savior. Joseph of Arimathea took Christ's body down from the Cross and, with the help of Nicodemus, buried Him. The Myrrh-Bearing women became the first witnesses of His resurrection when they went to the tomb very early in the morning to anoint the Lord's body as a final sign of love.
In a world full of competing values, conflicting voices, and endless theological opinions, how can we focus on what truly matters? In this episode, we explore how Jesus brings clarity to complexity—not through formulas, but through the essential truths of the gospel. Drawing from the sermons in Acts and the resurrected Christ in John 20, we discover the core convictions that unite true followers of Jesus. The Six Essentials of Biblical Christianity: God Exists and Can Be Known (Hebrews 11:6) Jesus Is Lord (Romans 10:9) Jesus Is the Risen Savior (1 Corinthians 15:3–8) Salvation Is by Grace Through Faith (Ephesians 2:8–9) We Must Be Born Again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3; John 20:22) Faith Must Persevere to the End (Hebrews 3:14)These essentials invite us to live with convicted civility—graciously holding fast to gospel truth while loving those who seek. Whether you're deeply rooted in church or spiritually curious on the margins, this message offers clarity, hope, and mission.

Happy Easter! Today is Wednesday of the Easter Octave, and we journey with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. What were they talking about on the way? Jesus revealed how the entire Old Testament points to Him—the perfect Lamb, the suffering Messiah, our Risen Savior. In this video, we dive into: •The mystery of the Eucharist and the co-mingling at Mass •How Old Testament figures like Abel, Abraham, and the Passover lamb prefigure Christ •The beauty of recognizing Jesus in the breaking of the bread Let's rediscover the richness of Scripture and the gift of our Catholic faith.
Happy Resurrection Sunday, Shiloh Church! In this power-packed Easter message, we celebrate the cornerstone of our faith — the EMPTY grave and the Risen Savior — and explore a surprising yet powerful spiritual challenge: How fast is your OODA loop? Pastor Bailey unpacks this military decision-making framework (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) and how it applies to our spiritual walk, especially in the face of adversity, spiritual warfare, and everyday leadership. With biblical insight from the lives of Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, Mary Magdalene, and Jesus Himself, this message will encourage you to: Make bold, informed decisions for Christ Pre-decide based on God's Word Be fearless and Spirit-led in your actions Whether you're new to faith or seasoned in the journey, this is not your average Easter sermon. It's a call to live decisively, boldly, and victoriously. HE IS RISEN… indeed!
On this Easter Sunday, we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Lead Pastor Kevin Barton shares a powerful message about having a personal relationship with our living Savior—One who has risen from the grave. Pastor Kevin takes us through John chapter 20, where we witness Mary Magdalene searching for Jesus' body but encounters two angels instead. Weeping for her savior she doesn't see Him until Jesus speaks her name. Are you seeking the Risen Savior like Mary? Call to Him today and claim the salvation He died for you to have.

On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the heart of the gospel: Jesus didn't wait for us to clean ourselves up—He came for us while we were still sinners. His death wasn't just a moment in history—it was the decisive act that broke sin's power and opened the way to new life. In love, not condemnation, God sent His Son to save us. This is resurrection hope: we are fully known, fully loved, and fully invited into new life through Jesus. The only question now is—will we receive it?
Scripture: Luke 24:5b — “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”In this Resurrection Sunday message, we reflect on the angel's powerful question to the women at Jesus' tomb. They had come looking for a body, expecting death—yet the tomb was empty. “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” is not just a question for that moment, but one that echoes into our own lives.Too often, we seek purpose, identity, and peace in “dead places”—in success, relationships, addictions, status, even religion without Christ. We chase after affirmation on screens, healing in achievements, or comfort in substances. But these cannot offer life. They are tombs that promise what only Jesus can give.True life—abundant, eternal, and resurrected life—is found in Christ alone. He is not in the grave. He is risen. And He invites us to stop clinging to lifeless substitutes and instead come alive in Him.This message calls us to examine where we've been seeking life in dead things—and to turn instead to the Risen Savior who conquered death and still meets us with grace and power today.Need Prayer?

Pastor Nate brings the message ""A Perplexing Resurrection" from Luke 24:1-12. Christians all over the world celebrate the reality of the Risen Jesus. We see how the women were perplexed at the tomb, how the angels had a proclamation of truth, and how the disciples had varying responses to the resurrection. Our perplexities come to rest when we lay hold of the Risen Savior.
Our Easter morning celebration of the Risen Savior!
Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” portrayed the death of Christ in one of the most accurate ways ever seen by man, except for those who saw it firsthand. I saw the movie once. I have never seen it again. It is one thing to imagine the death of Christ; it is altogether different to see it portrayed in such a realistic way. In our Good Friday services, we will look at another portrayal of Christ’s suffering in Isaiah 53. Isaiah describes the suffering of Christ with detail and perfection, but unlike Mel Gibson, he pens his description over 700 years in advance of it actually happening. Only God can talk about future events as if they were yesterday’s news. Then in our Easter Celebration services, we will turn our attention to another resurrection in Scripture. A resurrection that anticipates the resurrection of Christ and our own resurrection. A resurrection in which Christ’s claim is tested and gives us proof-positive that He is the resurrection and the life! Only in Christ can we find hope for the future and life for today. I pray that you will join us for all our Easter weekend activities. Make the decision now to attend and invite a friend. We are celebrating our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the Hope of the nations, our King, and our Shepherd. Along with our celebration, we are exploring how Christ's love and death/resurrection can affect us. Our stories are what make His name known...but it's not always easy sharing them. Scripture says that we overcome the enemy by "the blood of the Lamb, and the word of our testimony." (Revelation 12:11) So we shouldn't hide our weakness, but make them know to proclaim the profound love of our savior. If you are in need of a reminder of His faithfulness, we can't wait to show you this week's service!

We serve a RISEN Savior! And for this reason we celebrate with gladness and joy. Yet there was a time when there was deep mourning over Jesus. His disciples, who were with Him for 3 years hid in fear. The women who followed Him stood in shock. The world itself grew dark and shook with grief as the wrath of the Almighty God was poured out on His perfect Lamb. As we come together for Good Friday, we remember the atonement for sin that Jesus made on our behalf at the cross. This image of Jesus brings to mind many differing views of Him. We have looked over the last 2 weeks at who the World says He is, and who your circle says He is. No we zoom in even more to ask the same question Jesus asked His disciples: “Who do YOU say that I am?” We all have versions of Jesus that we create in our minds, yet each of them truly falls short to the reality of Him shown in His word. That is the Jesus we need to seek. That is the Jesus we must know. Come worship with us on Friday at 6pm at the MBC Worship Center as we remember what Christ has done, and celebrate His finished work on the cross for us! - Pastor Ben For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49414342
Many think of Easter as the day with eggs, bunnies, and chocolate candies, but in reality this day commemorates a day that changed everything! For this is a day where the tomb was found empty that now over 2 billion people around the world come together to reflect on, remember, and celebrate a Risen Savior, the Risen Christ! 1 Peter 1:3 says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." You see, the resurrection is the pillar and the foundation of our faith!! A day that reminds us, not only did Christ defeat sin by paying the ultimate sacrifice for our sins through a substitutionary death on the cross, but then by rising again 3 days later He defeated death, providing each and every one of us the opportunity to spend eternal life with HIM. By rising from the dead, Jesus Christ demonstrated that He had cleansed the guilt of our past and is able to help and walk alongside of us in our present. His resurrection provides us with an ever-present HOPE assuring us that our future is safe and secure. You see, the empty tomb is proof of Christ's deity, and it guarantees the future resurrection of His believers, those who have been saved. Romans 10:9 says, that “If you declare with your mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved! However, many remain puzzled and confused asking questions such as, “Why did Jesus have to die?” or “Why did He have to die in that way?” or even “How do we know that the tomb was empty?” or lastly “If the tomb really was empty, how then should we live our lives?” Thankfully today we have Senior Pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church and Chancellor of Liberty University, Jonathan Falwell here to unpack all of these questions as he so elequently simplifies the good news of the gospel for us all to understand! Remember, Easter is not simply a moment or a part of history – Easter is the meaning and the point of history… Easter isn’t just about one day – the message of Easter is a lifestyle that we can live with every moment of every day! Throughout Zechariah's visions, we've seen how God continues to pursue the Israelites with a heart of restoration motivated by a deep, abiding love for his people. This week, co-lead pastor Ricky Kennedy, walked us through Zechariah's sixth and seventh visions about how God will ultimately deal with our sin.In order to restore the people back to Himself, God—being perfectly holy and just—must reveal and remove the sin that entangles us, as it's not meant for our good or His glory. For us, God removes sin through the person of Jesus—His life, death and resurrection. Psalm 103:12 reminds us that our sin is as far removed as the East is from the West. Because of our Risen Savior's sacrifice, we are made clean in Him and can rest in the gift of His salvation.

Today marks day 49 in our journey through the Bible. I'm Hunter, your Bible reading coach, here to spend time with you in the pages of Scripture and to let our hearts be directed towards the one true shepherd, Jesus. In today's reading, we delve into Numbers chapters 3 and 4, where we explore the family lines of Aaron and Moses and their responsibilities, as laid out at Mount Sinai. We also dive into Acts chapter 25, where we follow the trials of Paul, foolishly accused of crimes by the Jewish leaders and standing firm in his faith. This episode invites us to draw near to the living Christ and reflect on the purpose and sense that can be found in participating in His life. Join us as we pray, reflect, and find encouragement in His Word. Remember, you are loved. Let's dive in together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: It makes no sense. As Felix shares with Agrippa, the situation seems baffling: a religion about a dead man named Jesus, whom Paul insists is alive. Why would anyone put themselves through trial, risk their life, and endure suffering for something that seems nonsensical—a dead religion? Felix is not alone in this confusion; Paul once felt the same way. That is until everything changed. It didn't make sense to Paul either—until he encountered the living Christ. When we truly meet Christ—not as a figure of religion, but as a living, present reality—it all begins to make sense. It's not about a dead man; it's about a Risen Savior. That encounter transforms everything. Are you living as though Christ is merely a name in history, or as the living Lord who reigns today? When we engage with the living Christ, our hearts become aligned with His life and purpose. Sufferings, which bewilder us, find context within His sovereignty. The story makes sense when we experience His living presence. Without it, we're merely following shadows. Yet, it is not Christ who is elusive. He knows us to our core, and His invitation remains: to step off our own thrones and recognize Him upon His. It is through surrender that we experience true freedom and reconciliation. When we open our hearts, we learn we are known and loved, and our stories begin to fit within His redemptive narrative. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Brandon Fisher | Feb 16 2025 Introduce the book of Acts by looking back to the events that led up to the beginning of Acts – In particular the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Talk about Luke being the Author of Acts and address Why He wrote the book of Acts. Especially focus in on the idea of being a disciple means we follow a Risen Savior and Ascended/Ruling Lord. The Book of Acts, and the actions of Jesus' disciples in this book, only make sense in light of those two realities.

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Butler, Pennsylvania is a tiny town with a small police force.
