Join us as we dig deeper into last Sunday's sermon from Pastor Gabe Kasper "Why Church?" and hear from Amy Duncan and Nate Zuellig on "Build Your Church". Digging Deeper Questions: When you think of the word "church" what comes to mind for you? Why church? Why are you part of the church? Or not? How does the identity of being a saint in Christ, shape your daily life? Does it? Could it? Have you ever had someone speak the truth in love towards you? How did that go? You ever speak it to someone else? What role do you see yourself playing as Christ builds his church? “You cannot build your church on religious people.” In this powerful opening night sermon of the Waltham Forest Conference, Pastor Nigel Brown issues a timely and prophetic warning: If we prioritize church growth over new birth, we may lose the very culture that fuels our calling.Using Acts 5 as his foundation, Pastor Brown contrasts the “rest who dared not join” with those born again into a supernatural, Holy Ghost culture. He exposes the dangers of importing religious Christians rather than reaching sinners, and passionately defends the core values of evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and world evangelism. With stirring illustrations, historical insight into the Salvation Army, and testimonies of transformation, this message will challenge every pastor, disciple, and believer to preserve the culture that God has entrusted to our fellowship.

Pastor Steve Perez | January 1, 2024 The Fountain Apostolic Church Build Your Church (2024) New Year's Launch Service Learn more at tfachurch.com/plus Sermon Notes: Matthew 16:18 Identifiers – noun; a person or thing that establishes the identity of someone or something Examples: Joseph was identified with the coat of many colors; he was favored by his father. Samson was identified by his Nazarite vow and his uncut hair; he was seen for his great strength and courage to fight the enemy Job was identified by his great wealth; he was shown with favor because he was a “perfect and upright man” The Challenge of the Identifiers: Each one of these identifiers were challenged. Joseph lost his coat of many colors; he had to find out if his favor was in the coat Samson lost his hair and had to find out if his power was only in his hair Job had to seek deep down inside himself to see if his wealth determined his perfection and uprightness The Revelation: Each one of these stories had to learn the valuable lesson that the strength of the gift was not in the identifier but the giver of identity. Joseph found out that the coat was a symbol of what was in the inside of him. The coat did not qualify him but God qualified him. Samson learned as he stood blind, no hair and ready to die that his strength was his ability to call on the Lord Job seen that his belief in his redeemer was greater that what his eyes could see in that moment The Church: The church was called out by Christ “my church” or “my called-out ones.” This identifier “church” that is used so loosely today. We see on every corner that there is a “church”. But in the hour in which we live there is a striping away of the identifier of church. With every type of churches “his church” is having to be reminded from where its identity comes from. The “my church” from Matthew is not the same as we see in general view today. You the “my church” has some important characteristics. The church of the Bible is built on a sure foundation. The Rock – the Jesus name doctrine; we are not the same as these non-denominational movements who do not recognize the name of Jesus. The name is what separates us. Baptism in Jesus name is style relevant; calling on the name of Jesus for healing is still where power is from. This is the only church “the gates of hell can't prevail against” The Holy Ghost – the church grew because when the Holy Ghost fell it was a sign that changed the religious world. But this church was not silent it was loud and maybe even a little embarrassing. The reason I say this is because when Peter stood up in Acts 2 he had to let them know that they weren't drunk as they supposed. The true church looks a fool sometimes. We look like we are drunk or out of our mind because we are filled with his spirit and because of the move of the spirit the church grew. The Fellowship – the church grew as they stood with one another; they fellowshipped, ate and shared the good news. Because of this attribute the world could not get into the church. They always supported, uplifted and encouraged each other. These three characteristics are under attack. This is why there is such a great falling away from the truth. The religious world has tried to infiltrate the church and have it compromise these principals. There is a phrase in the Old Testament that stands out to me, “these are the generations or sons…” it is the recording of the lineage of a family. I wonder sometimes as we look out into this crowd can we say, “these are the generations of the… family “. Our Responsibility As a church we must stand on the Rock of Ages, the doctrine of the Oneness of God. This revelation must be foundational to who we are. Acts 2:42 We must be guided and demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 2:4 We must be in fellowship with one another. 1 John 1:7

Build Your Church! ❤️ Last Sunday, Pastor Rich preached a message out of Ephesians 2 and 4 titled “Apostolic Body Builders.” We were brought to the reality of the Lord's desire to build His church through us, His people. Rich taught us that we each have an apostolic calling and a work to do in fulfilling the Lord's desire. Building God's church, first starts with understanding that Jesus himself is the Chief Cornerstone, the very foundation we build upon. Building God's church is also built upon God's people. Therefore, it is necessary to respond to our apostolic callings by focusing on the discipleship of believers. For we as members of Christ's body “are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Ephesians 2:22 NIV ⛪️ Connect with us ⛪️ https://www.lifecenternyc.com/ https://www.instagram.com/lifecenternyc/
ALL of us have tasted the sweet fruit that comes from teaching — either from a parent, schoolteacher, coach, Pastor, or mentor — we've all had SOMEONE step alongside us and 'turn on the lights' of revelation and activation to a new confidence and/or skill we previously lacked. What's more…we've all desired to be this kind of person in the lives of those we love and lead. In this message, Pastor Chuck shares the beautiful grace gift of Teaching, highlighting why it is deeply needed, warnings for teachers, and a commissioning to carry the grace entrusted to us well.
Have you ever felt Unseen or Overlooked? Have you ever stepped into a place you'd love to belong, only to feel you can't seem to find your seat at the table? Jesus came as the “Good Shepherd” so that each of us, His kids, would be able to find our place in the field of God's rest and His restoration...and that we'd belong to a FAMILY forever. In this message, Pastor Chuck shares the gift of “shepherding grace” that we are all desperately crying out to receive and what it can look like when a Church chooses to say, “YES!”
Ben and Kimberly, gospel workers in South Asia, join VOM Radio again this week to share more about how the Lord is working in remote villages of South Asia. Struck by the boldness of local believers, Ben and Kimberly see the fearlessness persecuted Christians there have in preaching the gospel. The threat of jail doesn't stop them from preaching; they will preach in jail if necessary. With the rise of anti-conversion laws in South Asia, in many places it is illegal for people to change their religion or to lead others to change their faith. Yet Christians there continue to evangelize and reach people for Christ. Ben and Kimberly will share how persecution is part of the DNA of believers there, and how they are equipping locals with training and discipleship tools. They will also share a story of how God opened one of the darkest villages in this region—a place that had been completely closed to the gospel. Listen to how God planted a church in that village—on the very spot where Christians had prayed God would build His church. Ben and Kimberly love sharing what the Lord did in that village. Kim says, “it's incredibly exciting to see fruit like that.” But they also remind us that even though we may not see immediate fruit we must keep being faithful; God is working whether we see it or not. Pray for Christians in South Asian nations like India, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma and Bangladesh to stand firm and find their identity in Christ, Pray for Ben and Kimberly to receive wisdom from the Lord as they continue in ministry.
The name “evangelism” has gotten a bad rap, with people envisioning horror stories of awkward forced conversations or a gospel tract in the hands of an over-zealous stranger invading their personal space. It may help to know that the word itself simply means, “Good News!” As followers of Jesus, we carry a raging wildfire of the BEST news imaginable — news that has and is changing us every moment of every day…and whether you know it or not, God has already anointed you to be a “Good News Point of Contact!” In this message, Pastor Chuck debunks some myths about living out the Great Commission and shares how Jesus' CHURCH is beautifully positioned today to overflow in hope that will literally change the world!

Whether followers of Jesus are dreaming in wide-eyed wonder or lamenting with groans within, we spend a lot of time talking about “what” the Church should be. But there's a deeper transformative question that is screaming for our attention: HOW has the Church that defies Hell been called to operate? In this deeply practical message, Pastor Chuck moves past merely the inspirational imagining of a church of 5-fold diversity down to the very nuts and bolts the Holy Spirit gave us for HOW we are to be EQUIPPED and to MATURE together. It's unbelievably good news…and it is the destiny Jesus holds out today for any crazy enough to follow Him!

When there is a need, when there is a problem, the answer is more often than not a leader stepping up. In Acts 6, we see a problem presented to the apostles, one they didn't really have the bandwidth or calling to address. So what did they do? They looked for some leaders. Where you see a need, God may be calling you to lead.
In Acts chapter four we see where a man named Barnabas gives an incredibly generous gift to the church. In fact, Barnabas was known for his generosity, his encouragement, his kindness. Shortly after in Acts chapter five we see the infamous story of Ananias and Sapphira, who gave the appearance of generosity but in their deception, they paid a high price. This serves as a powerful lesson to the church to not "play church" for the accolades or acceptance - but to be authentic in every way possible.SHOW LESS
