Congressman Tim Burchett has been very outspoken about the Epstein files, today he is with me to break down everything going on in Congress. Democrats continue to look foolish and culpable as more and more Epstein information comes to light. Rep. Burchett has seen how messy the Epstein case is and is worried about victims' privacy and the graphic nature of the over 50,000 pages of information. The Senators that got spied on tried to pay themselves $500,000 per violation in the Arctic Frost scandal. Thankfully, the House is shutting down this selfish act that the Senate tried to sneak into a funding package. Congressman Burchett calls Washington D.C. as sewer more than a swamp and wants to see an end to Congress making 500-600% returns through stock trading. The Socialist wing is now the forefront of the Democratic party and AOC could take Chuck Schumer's seat anytime she wants. It's time for Republicans to wake up cause we are one vote cycle away from losing the country. Ambassador Mike Waltz has teamed up with Nicki Minaj to bring awareness to Christian persecution. In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I sit down with Father Benedict Kiely, founder of Nasarean.org and one of the world's leading voices on the persecution of Christians. We discuss the genocide unfolding in Nigeria, where thousands of Christians are being murdered each year by Islamist militias while Western governments and media look away. Father Kiely exposes how the massacre of Christians is dismissed as “climate change” violence, a lie repeated by politicians and journalists unwilling to name Islamist extremism. From ISIS's resurgence across Africa and the Middle East to the silent persecution of Christians in Iraq under Iranian-backed militias, Kiely lays bare a pattern of denial stretching from Abuja to Washington. He explains how Christianity faces extinction in its ancient homelands, the failure of the West's moral leadership, and why Europe's collapse of faith has left it powerless to confront evil.We also explore stories of hope, the revival of Christianity in post-communist Albania, the endurance of believers speaking Aramaic in Iraq, and why, despite centuries of persecution, faith refuses to die.All this: Nigeria's genocide, Islamist expansion, the silence of the West, and the rebirth of Christianity where it was once crushed.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters 00:00 Introduction 01:18 Father Benedict Keeley's Role and Media Coverage02:54 Genocide in Nigeria and Media Bias08:41 Islamist Extremism Across Africa26:42 Situation in Syria and the Role of Al-Qaeda33:04 Christian Persecution in Sudan 40:08 Christian Persecution in Europe and the Role of the Media1:04:06 Challenges Faced by Christians in the UK1:11:59 Final Thoughts Hosted on Acast. Send us a textWelcome to VoiceAfrique's special edition on the suffering of Christians and the poor in Nigeria which we have titled “Engaging Bishop Kukah on the Blood of the Faithful in Nigeria and Tinubu's Corrupt and Insensitive Government.” This episode dares to ask difficult questions and tell difficult truths about the state of our nation and the suffering of God's people. It is not a defence of Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, nor is it an attack on him. Rather, it is a space of honest dialogue—a moral conversation among Christians who love their country and desire its healing.Nigeria today bleeds from open wounds of corruption, insecurity, and moral decay. The cry of the innocent and the tears of the persecuted Christians rise daily to heaven, while those entrusted with leadership wallow in luxury and indifference. This episode confronts these uncomfortable realities: the betrayal of the poor, the failure of governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the silence of many in the face of evil. But above all, it is a call to conscience, Gospel non-violence, and Christian resistance against this cycle of persecution and violence and suffering. Our salvation as a people will not come from Washington, London, or Paris. Nigeria's redemption lies in the courage, faith, and solidarity of Nigerians themselves and commitment to live together in an inclusive and just country where the common good is protected, promoted and available to everyone everywhere without regard to religion, ethnicity, or class. Here, we speak truth to power, with compassion, faith with courage, and hope with responsibility.

1. Christian Persecution in Nigeria Senator Cruz highlights what he describes as a massive and underreported crisis involving the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Key points include: Over 50,000 Christians killed since 2009. 18,000 churches and 2,000 schools burned, allegedly by extremist groups like Boko Haram and ISIS in West Africa. Accusations that some Nigerian government officials are complicit or negligent in addressing the violence. Cruz has introduced legislation to designate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” and impose sanctions on individual officials involved in or ignoring the persecution. He criticizes the mainstream media for failing to cover the issue adequately. Public figures like Bill Maher and Van Jones are cited as supporting the claim that this is a planned genocide and that media silence is a moral failure. 2. Christian Persecution in China This section shifts to a similar story: The Chinese Communist Party’s crackdown on Christianity, particularly targeting Pastor Jin Mingri and the Zion Church. Cruz introduced a bipartisan resolution with Senator Chris Coons condemning China’s actions and urging the release of imprisoned pastors. He emphasizes the need for economic and diplomatic pressure, especially with President Trump’s upcoming meeting with President Xi Jinping. The resolution calls for respect for religious freedom and highlights China’s long-standing designation as a “Country of Particular Concern” by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. 3. DOJ Surveillance of Republican Senators Cruz discusses revelations that: The Biden DOJ and Special Counsel Jack Smith subpoenaed phone records of nine Republican senators and one House member in connection with the January 6 investigation. Cruz’s phone records were requested from AT&T, but the company refused to comply, citing constitutional protections under the Speech and Debate Clause. He frames this as political persecution and a dangerous abuse of power, likening it to Watergate. He calls for Congressional hearings and transparency to prevent future surveillance of elected officials. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. “I just want the Bible. How much does it cost?” First, the young Druze woman tried to access and read her own religion's holy book. But she wasn't allowed to read it. Then she tried to find a Quran. Finally, she came to a church and asked to purchase a Bible, worried she wouldn't have enough money to pay for it. The pastor told her that God's Word is priceless, but that he would give it to her without cost. Shocked, she took the Bible and began to read, eventually giving her life to Jesus. Brother Michael, a gospel worker in the Middle East, will share more of this young woman's powerful story and the Christian persecution she faced from her family while standing firm in Christ. In spite of persecution, even locked in a room, she continued to share the gospel. Learn what it's like to live as a Christian in the Middle East, and what believers face after leaving Muslim or Druze backgrounds to follow Christ. As believers engage in conversations with family and friends, they carefully plant spiritual seeds while testing their listeners' hearts to see if they are ready to go deeper. Brother Michael also shares how he trains and leads discipleship through Discovery Bible Study groups, which are multiplying as new believers share their personal testimonies with family and friends. One group started with nine believers, but today has multiplied into more than twenty groups with 150 believers! Hear how you can pray specifically for Brother Michael and our persecuted Christian family in the Middle East. The International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians (IDOP) is next Sunday! The Voice of the Martyrs offers resources to help you and your church pray for persecuted Christians on November 2–and throughout the year. Be sure to watch the new short film telling the story of ongoing Christian persecution in Democratic Republic of Congo—and how God is bringing healing to Christians who've suffered attacks and trauma. It's Monday, October 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes, written by Jonathan Clark, heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. Filling in for Adam McManus I'm Ean Leppin. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Human Rights Conference in Berlin Highlights Christian Persecution Human rights experts met in Berlin, Germany last Wednesday, highlighting the increased persecution of Christians worldwide. The International Society for Human Rights released a new report on Christian persecution at the conference. The report notes that Christians suffer under dictatorial states like China, Cuba, and North Korea. They remain victims of discrimination and violence without state protections in countries like Egypt, Syria, Nigeria, India, and Myanmar. And believers face persecution in Islamic republics like Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. The conference also highlighted the suffering of Ukrainian Christians under Russian occupation. Johann Matthies with the Evangelical Alliance in Germany said, “Russian occupation authorities are specifically targeting Ukrainian religious communities: they are pressuring churches to cooperate or destroying them if they refuse.” Psalm 34:15-16 says, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.” President Trump Continues Efforts to End Russian-Ukrainian War U.S. President Donald Trump continues his efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. President Trump spoke over the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin last Thursday. He then met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House last Friday. President Trump also plans on meeting with President Putin in Budapest, Hungary in the coming weeks. Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: "I met with President Zelensky, as you know, today, and we had a very good meeting; very cordial meeting. In my opinion, they should stop the war immediately. You stop at the battle line, and both sides should go home, go to their families, stop the killing, and that should be it. Stop right now at the battle line. I told that to President Zelensky. I told it to President Putin. Thank you very much, everybody." Russia Proposes a Rail Tunnel Under the Bering Strait Reuters reports Russia proposed a “Putin-Trump” rail tunnel under the Bering Strait to link the two nations. The eight billion dollar proposal follows President Donald Trump's phone call with President Vladimir Putin. Russia's proposal would involve building a 70-mile rail and cargo tunnel between Alaska and Russia's eastern region of Chukotka. The plan suggested Elon Musk's Boring Company for the construction project. President Trump called the idea “interesting,” saying, “We'll have to think about that.” Trump Moves to Reduce the Cost of IVF Last Thursday, President Donald Trump announced a deal with the pharmaceutical industry to reduce the cost of in vitro fertilization. The Trump administration hailed the move as pro-family. However, pro-life groups are criticizing the plan. LifeSiteNews noted, “The IVF process is gravely unethical as it entails the conscious creation of scores of ‘excess' embryonic humans only to be killed and human lives being treated like commodities to be bartered over. It has been estimated that more than a million embryos are frozen in storage in the United States following IVF, and that as many as 93 percent of all embryos created through IVF are eventually destroyed.” Conservative Anglicans Split from the Church of England Conservative Anglicans formally split from the Church of England last week. The Global Anglican Future Conference, also known as GAFCON, declared itself to be the Global Anglican Communion. It will no longer participate in meetings called by the Church of England's Archbishop of Canterbury. Sarah Mullally is the recently appointed Archbishop of Canterbury. She is the first female to hold the position and supports same-sex blessings. Bishop Laurent Mbanda is the chairman of the GAFCON Primates' Council as well as the Primate of Rwanda. He wrote, “We cannot continue to have communion with those who . . . abandoned the inerrant word of God as the final authority.” Isaiah 8:20 says, “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Pew Research: Divorce Rates are Down in the U.S. And finally, Pew Research reports divorce rates, and specifically refined divorce rates, are down in the U.S. Unlike the overall divorce rate, the refined divorce rate takes into account changes in the number of people who are married at any given time. This refined divorce rate peaked in the U.S. around 1980 at 22.6 divorces per 1,000 married women. By 2023, it had declined to 14.4 divorces per 1,000 married women. The report noted that married men are more likely to be employed than divorced men. Also married adults have higher household incomes and hold more wealth than divorced adults. Churches in Algeria have been closed by the government. Pastors have been threatened. But ministry continues. Pastor Abraham and Sara are back on VOM Radio this week to continue our conversation about God's work in the Middle East and North Africa—and the Christian persecution that Christ's followers face. Listen for the story of one pastor who has repeatedly changed his phone number because of constant threats. Yet he remains in his country and continues to share the gospel with Muslims. They will also offer an update on the situation for Christians in Syria as we near the one-year anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime. Abraham and Sara will also share how Christians fleeing violence and danger in the region are going as missionaries to their new homelands—sometimes reaching their countrymen even in far-off lands! You'll be equipped to pray for Christians in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria and other nations as you listen this week. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and their countries amidst war and upheaval in the Middle East. Pastor Abraham and Sara are living as representatives of God's love to displaced people in the Middle East. The ministry can be messy and difficult, yet they persist in demonstrating love in practical ways. And they are seeing great fruit for their ministry. Abraham and Sara will share how one woman—the widow of an imam—had heard all kinds of negative things about Christians. But when she came to the church, she found something very different: people who loved her and helped her. Listen to hear the story of how God answered the woman's prayer within 24 hours, and how a dream led her to commit her life to Jesus. Leaving Islam behind to follow Jesus comes with a cost, though. Abraham and Sara will also share what Christian persecution looks like in the region, including pressure from families or tribes as well as Islamists or government authorities. “We are planting seeds,” Sara says, “we are the tools for His Kingdom.” Pray for Abraham & Sara's ministry as they serve lost and forgotten people in the Middle East and seek to reveal Christ's love for them. In Malaysia, every citizen carries an ID card that includes religion; every person is classified as either “Muslim” or “Non-Muslim.” The Malaysian constitution promises religious freedom and the right to choose one's religion. So what happens if a citizen changes their faith? “Brother Samuel” will answer that question this week on VOM Radio. Born into a Muslim family, he came to know that Jesus was the Son of God, then chose to leave Islam behind to follow Christ. At first, he kept his newfound faith quiet, knowing that being publicly identified as a follower of Jesus could bring all kinds of trouble. But as he grew in faith, he felt convicted about his silence. Jesus had died for him. How could he be unwilling even to acknowledge Christ? Learning of his conversion, Samuel's family encouraged him to dive more deeply into Islamic training and activities. Wanting to honor his father and his family, Samuel agreed to attend Islamic classes. But instead of bringing him back to Mohammed, the training forced him to become more rooted in Biblical truth and more capable at explaining and defending Christian doctrines. In 2018, Samuel began the process of applying for a new national ID card, changing his religion from “Muslim” to “non-Muslim.” Seven years later, his court case is still dragging on. While the most famous case of Christian persecution in Malaysia is the abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh, Samuel says there are hundreds of Christians right now in the same situation he's in: trying to get the government to issue them new ID cards that accurately reflect their faith. Please pray this week for Samuel and for other Christians in Malaysia. Next month is the International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians (IDOP). The Voice of the Martyrs has resources to help you and your church pray for persecuted Christians on November 2 and throughout the year, including a new film telling the story of ongoing persecution in Democratic Republic of Congo. After dozens of churches and Christians' homes in Jaranwala, Pakistan, were attacked, looted and burned by a mob, Christians gathered in and around the ruins of their former church buildings to sing and worship the Lord. The words they sang were directly from Scripture: Psalms of lament; reminders that even in times of suffering we can come to the Lord and trust in His sovereignty. Dr. Yousaf Sadiq, professor at Wheaton College and co-leader of the Lausanne Persecuted Church Initiative, is back on VOM Radio, sharing the story of the Punjabi Psalter: what it is and how it has impacted the church in Pakistan and parts of India for generations. “I want the world to know this fascinating story and what it means for the church in Pakistan.” Yousaf says, “It's such a precious heritage.” Dr. Yousaf will also share about his work to support and include the ministry of persecuted Christians into the work of the Lausanne Movement. Dr. Yousaf Sadiq was born into a Christian family in Pakistan. He will share how his ancestors came to faith in Christ in India out of Hinduism. While his parents never had the opportunity to go to school and learn to read and write, Yousaf shares how they saw education as a privilege. His mother worked as a cleaner at a local school so that Yousaf and some of his ten siblings would have an opportunity to be educated. In the evenings, he would help his mother clean the school where he was a student during the day. Despite their deep poverty, Yousaf gratefully recounts how his family's needs were always met. Today Yousaf is a professor at Wheaton College and co-leader of the Lausanne Persecuted Church Initiative. He remembers how his parents invested time and energy in training their children to walk with the Lord, and how they led by example. “There was a strong training and guidance by our parents,” Yousaf said, “They would wake up early in the morning to pray, showing us that prayer was vital.” Yousaf also shares what it looks like to live in Pakistan as a Christian. There are many pressures within the society, but Yousaf understood at a young age that Christian persecution is part of following Christ. “I felt not only strengthened but also privileged that this was happening,” he says. Pray for persecuted Christians in Pakistan and be encouraged by the faith our brothers and sisters display. You can learn more about Christian persecution in Pakistan through VOM Radio interviews with Dr. Michael Reeves, “Brother Johanna” and Kenneth Charles. God's rest isn't about inactivity but about living under His reign. Biblical rest encompasses five stages: Eden, the Tabernacle, Solomon's Temple, the Church, and ultimately the New Creation. When we misunderstand rest as merely 'turning off,' we miss that God's rest and reign are inseparable. We step out of this rest when we follow fleshly desires, engage in religious activities from wrong motives, or prioritize appearances over authentic godliness. True rest comes from living under God's authority, experiencing His presence, and anticipating His promised future. The peace we desperately seek isn't found in our chaotic world but in submission to Christ.Biblical rest is not inactivity but living under God's reign and authority.God's rest and His reign cannot be separated - wherever God rests, He also reigns.Humanity was created to live from God's rest, not for rest. When we live outside God's rest and reign, both individuals and society decay. What was lost in Eden will be restored in the new creation, giving us hope for the future.Support the show
“We are Christians. [Persecution] can happen any time.” As the pastor of an illegal house church in China, “Brother Enfu” knows the truth of that statement. Listen as he shares why and how he prepares his wife and children for the day he may eventually be arrested and sent to prison. He will give an update on Christian persecution in China and how believers there are responding faithfully despite increasing government pressure. Enfu will explain how a new law prohibits foreigners in China from talking about their faith—even in private settings. He'll also share how the CCP's persecution strategy has changed, charging pastors and other church leaders with “fraud” or other financial crimes rather than using overtly religious criminal charges. “Christianity is the narrow way, and the government is warning people about it,” Enfu says. Instead of large church events, the gospel is spreading through one-on-one conversations with co-workers or neighbors as Christians share what Jesus has done in their lives. Brother Enfu encourages pastors and church leaders he trains to stay in China and serve Christians there, rather than leaving China for a more comfortable position in the West. He says that when he hears of a brother or sister imprisoned for their faith, it's an encouragement to him, even as he acknowledges the suffering they are enduring. Pastor Wang Yi is one of those Chinese pastors who stayed in China and stood firm in his faith. He is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence. Pray Chinese believers will be faithful in their daily life and ministry and pray for government leaders, including President Xi Jinping, to find and follow Christ. Brother Bayram came to the United States from Türkiye (Turkey) to further his education. He started a business, where one day a Christian customer gave Bayram a New Testament. He began to read it, the beginning of a path that would lead him to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and the Son of God. It was a costly decision: his devout Muslim wife divorced him and wouldn't allow him to see their daughter. His brother had Bayram committed to a mental hospital, thinking anyone who would leave Islam was mentally unstable. It has been a difficult road, but Bayram's faith has only grown stronger as he has seen God work in his life and his country. Listen as he shares the story of his journey to Christ, and how his family pressured him to return to Islam and persecuted him for his Christian faith. He'll also share stories of others still meeting Jesus in Türkiye. Bayram will encourage and instruct listeners about how we—like the woman who gave him a New Testament—might help lead Muslims where we are toward Christ. You can connect online with Brother Bayram and his ministry at www.albtci.org. We'll finish this conversation with Bayram next week on VOM Radio. Between now and then, you can hear David Byle tell his story of persecution in Türkiye. You may also be interested in hearing American Pastor Andrew Brunson and his wife, Norine, tell their story of imprisonment and persecution in Türkiye. Hana Menghisteab is back on VOM Radio this week in a follow-up conversation after sharing with us on the 20th anniversary of her father's arrest in Eritrea. This week, Hana shares how that interview—really the first time she'd spoken publicly about her father and her family's suffering—was painful, but also how God used it to open a door for healing in her life. Before his arrest in 2004, Dr. Tecleab Menghisteab was a medical doctor and a leader in the Eritrean Orthodox Church. He is one of more than 300 Christians currently in prison in Eritrea. Hana was six years old when her father was arrested. Hana will tell how growing up without her father left her wounded in many areas of her life. However, Hana says, “God does not waste pain; He doesn't waste the years of tears.” Instead, the Lord uses suffering to display His glory. Hana says her interview last year opened wounds she'd wanted to keep covered up. “God forced me to reopen them and partake in my father's suffering,” she says. She'll tell how the Lord has allowed her to surrender her wounds to Him and encouraged her to be bold in sharing her story with others. She'll also share how an internship at VOM impacted her understanding of suffering and how God works through it. Hearing and reading stories of sisters and brothers also afflicted with suffering for their faith has shown Hana the beauty of those scars, even amidst the pain. Listen to Hana's previous visit with VOM Radio. There are a few seats remaining at VOM's From the Field 2025 National Conference. The conference will take place in Bartlesville, Oklahoma September 25-27. Attendees will hear from persecuted Christians—including several former VOM Radio guests—during the conference. When Yang Rongli, a pastor of Linfen Golden Lampstand Church in Shanxi Province, China, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, she responded with words of celebration. “I got the top reward!” she said, considering it an honor to suffer for Christ and referring to the fact that her prison sentence was longer than other church members. She and her husband, Pastor Wang Xiaoguang, remain in prison. Listen this week as Bob Fu, former prisoner for Christ in China and the founder and president of China Aid Association, shares updates from persecuted Christians in China, including Pastor John Cao, Pastor Wang Yi, and other Chinese Christians. The Chinese Communist Party continues to pursue absolute government control of churches and other religious institutions in China. Pastors and church leaders face long prison sentences for “fraud” when their church collects tithes and offerings, or “illegal border crossing” if they travel to meet with fellow believers outside China. Despite being prevented from leaving China following the completion of his seven-year prison sentence, Pastor John Cao continues serving the Lord through daily prayer meetings. He's even baptized new believers—despite Communist guards required to escort him everywhere he goes! Bob Fu, author of God's Double Agent, reports on recent church raids in China, including arrests of children attending Vacation Bible School. The Communist Party forbids any religious outreach or training for children under age 18. With two years remaining in his nine-year sentence, Pastor Wang Yi has composed books in his head during his time in prison, as well as praying daily through a list of more than 1,000 prayer requests. You can write letters of encouragement to Wang Yi and other Christian prisoners in China, Eritrea, Iran and other nations at www.PrisonerAlert.com.
