Learn three easy places to find community, one sign you're open to community, and two simple ways to encourage your friends. If you're lonely and ever wondered how to find community and belonging, listen in to Grace In Real Life Episode 149 with Rachael Wade. God Himself is in community, being a part of the Trinity. He designed families as a way for people to be loved, supported, and strengthened. And then, He placed those families into tribes, cities, communities, and nations. Throughout the Old and New Testaments, God talks about community and friendship and the values of both. We may not think of hanging out with other humans as a spiritual discipline, but to God, togetherness, belonging, and support are critical to following Him and growing in grace. So, where do you find your people? How do you make time for community when your schedule is full of work, picking-up and dropping-off kids, volunteering, and running a house? What do you do when you're trying to connect but still feel lonely? Because finding a community where you feel like you belong leaves us wondering where to start, I invited Rachael Wade to the show. Today, Rachael walks us through: Three easy places to find community, How to find time for community when your schedule is crazy, And three ways to honor and encourage your friends.   How to find community as an adult “If you want community, you need to have a posture open to receive community.” - Rachael Wade “To be open toward having multiple sources of community, where you're pouring in, and you're getting poured out, is essential.” - Rachael Wade “I'm a firm believer in going first.” - Rachael Wade What to do when you're lonely “I'm a firm believer in going first.” - Rachael Wade “Get curious when you're in those lonely seasons.” - Rachael Wade If you'd like to learn more about finding community in your real life, go here: Why perfectionists hate community Grace says you are free #147: One ridiculously easy way to spread the gospel with Twyla Franz #134: Grace-based Friendship: Friendship + the Introvert with Yohonna Smith #132: Grace-based Friendship: Making friends as an adult with Susan Seay   Sign up here for A Holy Hush A Holy Hush: Reflections for Lent is a multi-part series sent only to those who sign-up and will offer simple reflections on the final days, death, and resurrection of Christ. Through showing up and honoring one another is by remembering, by being curious, by circling back.” - Rachael Wade   As Mentioned in the Podcast The FCC requires that I tell you that I'm an Amazon Affiliate, which means I earn a bit of commission on each sale. She also chats about how finding her value in God instead of her accomplishments has restored her, why being silent requires practice, and how boundaries function as part of good stewardship of ourselves and the people closest to us. Although marriage is a picture of the gospel, it is not equal to it. The bible highly esteems marriage, but we make a critical mistake when we over-simply that staying married “no matter what” is the biblical standard. I was honored to interview Jenn Jett Barrett to hear her story of redemption after divorce. As a Christian and leader she experienced a lot of shame when her marriage failed after 15 years. I originally heard her story (on this podcast) when my first marriage was in a dark place and I was so encouraged by her dependence on the gospel for her healing, that I began following her. I celebrated from afar when she remarried a man who loves God and her very well. Jenn and I discuss shame around having difficulty in your marriage, dating after healing from a failed or broken marriage, the beautiful and sometimes complicated layers of remarriage and our refined views of biblical submission. This was a rich and gracious discussion that I was thankful to be a part of that I trust will serve you whether you have a healthy marriage or not, because likely you will walk with someone at some point who needs this perspective and truth when facing divorce. Learn more about Jenn Jenn Jett is a dream defender and risk taker. She spends her life ripping off roofs so that people can be lowered down into the healing hands of Jesus. She longs to see people not just be free but stay free. She is the founder and visionary of The Well Summit, a community that creates experiences for women who sit in the tension of feeling too much and not enough. Camp Well is one of those experiences that is hosted in Colorado twice a year. This episode is something I looked forward to recording for weeks!! Chandler Hatchett is a God-loving woman who turned a successful blog around wellness into an online media publication called, “The H is for…” We talk a lot about God and running from Him and His calling, learning to have faith that He has it all under control, and some cool things that have happened since doing so. Now, I have to warn you. We recorded this on a day when we had massive storms moving through TX and we kept losing connection so the recording is a little choppy. I truly believe our conversation will move mountains in someone’s life and the devil himself was just trying to keep us from getting it out there. But we persevered and we got it done. If you are spiritual at all, please listen to this episode and muddle through it because I promise you are going to get a whole lot of goodness shot straight to your heart. Born and raised the oldest of five in Austin, Chandler has always had a vibrant personality and zest for life. She now lives in Dallas with her husband, their two children and two, large, rescue dogs. Outside of her family duties, Chandler is an author, speaker, and the founder and editor in chief of The H is For…. Chandler believes that faith and wellness go hand in hand and is passionate about the modern woman and equipping her to be the best version of herself. She’s the author of A Proverb a Day: a month long quest for Godly-wisdom and Christian Character and is often posting funny moments as a mother of two on Instagram. At 21, Chandler was diagnosed with gluten intolerance and an autoimmune disease linked to her thyroid. This changed the way she looked at living and transformed her focus towards an all-natural lifestyle. While not everything she does is “all natural”, she strives to make it a priority and is learning as she goes.As a child at Kanakuk, a Christian summer camp, Chandler was introduced to the ‘Four Square Life’ concept based on the truth found in Luke 2:52. As she embarked on her own wellness journey as a young adult, she realized that life is best made when you approach growth the way Jesus did, growing “in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God and in favor with man.” She believes that living well is only achieved when you strive to grow spiritually as well, with spirituality based on Biblical truth. Her dream is that every woman who visits The H is For… will click away inspired, encouraged, and equipped to make the most out of the life they’ve been given.Links we discussed:Camp Well: https://thewellsummit.com/No More Holding Back by Kat Armstrong: https://www.amazon.com/More-Holding-Back-Emboldening-Everywhere/dp/0785223460Bible Study - https://www.facebook.com/groups/biblestudybeauties/Find Chandler:The H is For... https://www.thehisfor.com/A Proverb a Day: https://www.amazon.com/Proverb-Day-month-long-Christian-Character/dp/0692983554/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=proverb+a+day&qid=1565755281&s=gateway&sr=8-1Chandler on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/chandler.hatchett/Support the show (https://mmstuartco.com/livewithaudacity/)

Her love for God’s Word and her church community play a huge role in her everyday life; Kelly says both have been daily source of strength and comfort as she navigates life after the unexpected loss of her husband Zac in July of this year. Kelly says she consistently holds to that same faith as she advocates for Dwarfism Awareness.    Get All The Links from Today’s Show Here Connect with Taylor:Website | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter

Polished Podcast: Refining the Details of Life

We know. EVERYONE is talking about the Enneagram. Maybe you are about all things  enneagram or maybe you are ready to roll your eyes if someone even dares to bring it up one more time. In the midst of all of the enneagram buzz, Jenn’s perspective on using the Enneagram as a tool for gaining clarity in your professional relationships is both insightful and refreshing. And let’s be real. Who doesn’t need some practical advice for how to have stronger and more peaceful relationships with our co-workers and all of the other important people in our lives? Jenn’s conversation with  Kat will help you understand the Enneagram in new ways and maybe even redeem it for you if you are totally over it. Jett is a dreamer, a doer and a champion of risk takers. When she is not running her design business, she is encouraging & unleashing women through a gathering she hosts twice a year in Colorado called Camp Well – a place where dreamers and doers who are weary and overwhelmed can come and be reminded of who God created them to be, and walk confidently in their calling. Think summer camp for adults! Her personal story is one of redemption and hope and her desire is that through that story others would find freedom. Her discovery and understanding of the Enneagram, in light of Gods Word, has been a powerful tool in her life that has helped her uncover and find confidence in her true God designed self. Today’s conversation is with my dear friend, Jackie Toscas. In this episode, Jackie starts out by sharing when she first became aware of human trafficking and the work she did with International Justice Mission. She shares about our time together at Camp Well and what it looked like when she recognized the differences between her “calling” and  her “assignment”. This realization guided her to transitioning out of her role with IJM and into a new season. We talk about her journey through infertility, the anger and grief. And how it has looked for her to develop an awareness to see signs of hope, even in the midst of her pain. She shares her experience with IVF, the layers of emotions she felt. Jackie also walks us through what she was thinking and feeling when they received the news that she was, at last, pregnant and walking in the sacredness of this long-awaited pregnancy right now!
