Hi there! Feel free to drop us a text if you enjoy the episode. In this episode of the New England Endurance Podcast, we head to Manchester, Connecticut, to sit down with David Fusfeld, President of the Manchester Running Club.David shares his own “adult onset runner” story, starting in his 30s, getting hooked on the marathon, qualifying for Boston, completing 23 marathons, and recently earning his Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star medal. From there, we dive into the history and growth of Manchester Running Club, which started in 2009 and has become one of Connecticut's most active and visible running communities. The conversation explores how MRC balances competitive racing with a welcoming social culture, why group runs often work best when they mix workouts, breweries, long runs, and coffee, and what makes Manchester such a strong running town. David also highlights the club's signature events, including the Spring Street Mile & 5K and the MRC Track & Field Series, a summer event that brings hundreds of kids and adults to the track each week and helps introduce young athletes to the sport. We also talk about the broader Connecticut running scene, the growth of clubs across the state, the iconic Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving, and why David believes Connecticut is “punching above its weight” as a running community.Whether you're a competitive runner, a social runner, a parent looking to get your kids involved, or someone nervous about joining a club for the first time, this episode is a great reminder that running is better when you find your people.Learn more:Manchester Running Club: manchesterrunningclub.comMRC Track & Field Series: mrctf.orgInstagram: @manchesterrunningclubPhotography: @meteredexposureThis podcast embarks on a journey to showcase and celebrate the endurance sports community in New England.

We had some great questions based off the last video, so here's Part 2! Less about Reiki and more about the questions you asked: 1. What helped Ella with regulation? 2. How to cope with executive disfunction (decision making) 3. What is pattern recognition 4. "Coming out" as autistic - who do you tell, and when and how do you go about doing it? 5. Learning to unmask, especially around people you've know for a while. 6. Autism, masking and culture 7. How do we build a network of friends and a community of support? 8. Resources and books, especially on late diagnosis in women? I think we could have done one video on each of these topics! Maybe we will? You finally meet someone you click with. You've got things in common, the conversation flows, and suddenly you're ready to tell her everything. But that hunger for closeness in a new friendship can actually push people away before the relationship has a chance to build. In this episode, Danielle sits down with therapist and author Minaa B. to explore why so many women rush platonic intimacy, what happens when a new friend doesn't match your energy, and how early sibling dynamics can subtly fuel competition and scarcity in adult friendships. Minaa also shares what it actually takes to break the pattern, starting with the self-worth work most of us skip.
Expats from the US can have a harder time than most if they want to move to Ireland. With his calm approach and a propensity to plan ahead, it's easy to think Tom Lennon had it all figured out!In this episode, I'm joined by Tom Lennon, one of our clients who recently made the move from North Carolina to Limerick with his wife, Mary Lane. What started as a family connection to Ireland turned into a very real pathway through the Foreign Birth Registration process and, ultimately, a full relocation. Tom shares how that journey unfolded, from gathering documentation to that moment where it all starts to feel very real. The key thing to note here is that this wasn't a rushed decision. We talk through the practical steps they took to test the move before committing: short stays, different locations, and giving themselves permission to change their minds along the way.Tom also shares how they approached choosing where to live, what surprised them about Ireland today, and why Limerick ended up being the right fit for them, even though it's not the most obvious choice for expats. This is one of those areas where the emotional and practical sides of a move really overlap. Tom gives an honest account of what settling in actually looks like. If you're thinking about making a similar move, there's a lot here that will help you think it through and plan ahead for what's important.Main Topics Discussed in this Episode:The Decision to Move to Ireland: Tom shares how a long-standing connection to Ireland, combined with a push during COVID, turned a “what if” into a real relocation plan.Navigating the Foreign Birth Registration Process: A practical look at how Tom secured Irish citizenship through ancestry, including the timeline, documentation, and what made the process feel achievable.Planning the Move with Flexibility in Mind: This comes up a lot with clients - Tom explains their step-by-step approach, using trial stays and keeping an “exit strategy” to reduce risk and pressure.Choosing Where to Live in Ireland: Tom walks through how they tested different locations across Ireland and why Limerick ultimately stood out as the right fit for their lifestyle.Adjusting to Life in Ireland as an Expat Retiree: An honest reflection on settling in, from housing challenges to cultural expectations, and what it really feels like to start building a life in a new country.Resources Tom Recommends for Expats:Citizens Information service: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/Expat Taxes: https://expattaxes.ie/Crosscare Irish Diaspora Support Project: https://diasporasupport.ie/*****Use the link below and quote "Expat Taxes" when registering with Currencies Direct to receive a €50 One4All or Amazon voucher when you transfer €5000 or more in your first six months with Currencies Direct.*Click here for a special offer from our sponsor, Currencies Direct******If you loved this episode or have a similar story, we'd love to hear from you! Jesus never intended for faith to be something we put off. Too often, we tell ourselves we'll follow Him more fully “tomorrow” or “someday.” In No Time To Waste, we confront the habit of delaying obedience and putting off what matters most. This series encourages living with purpose, restoring marriages, sharing our faith, leading our families well, building meaningful community, and growing in a real, transformative relationship with Jesus. It's a reminder that hope is available today, change can start now, and the life Jesus invites us into is far too important to wait.

Episode 5: Finding Community & Creating A Cure in Sight A cancer diagnosis can feel incredibly isolating — especially when the disease is rare. In Episode 5 of My 15 Years, Melody reflects on what it was like to search for community after being diagnosed with ocular melanoma 15 years ago, when few resources and support systems existed for patients. She shares the frustration, loneliness, and uncertainty of navigating a rare cancer without a clear network — and how that experience ultimately led her to take action. Out of that need for connection and support, A Cure in Sight was born. In this episode, Melody talks about the importance of community, how far things have come, and why no patient should have to face a diagnosis alone. This episode is for anyone seeking connection, support, or a reminder that community can grow even from the most difficult beginnings.

Julianne Furniss-Green is a licensed clinical social worker focused on grief and loss. As a clinician in her private practice, JFG Therapy, she works closely with individuals of all ages and backgrounds as they navigate the challenging pathway of grief and loss. In our conversation, she shares that grief doesn't have to be “gloom and doom” and often times someone isn't feeling grief because of a death but from a life transition, chronic illness, estrangement and much more. She provides definitions of terms like “collective grief” and “compounded grief” that many listeners will undoubtedly relate to. She explains grief in a way that normalizes the experience, rather than the heavy stigma often attached to it. Julianne's expertise, knowledge and research is impressive, but it's her personal experience and commitment to deep connection with her clients that creates an atmosphere of empathy and healing. Her website reads, “Normalize Grief. Provide Support. Create Community.” As our podcast focuses on building community and supportive resources for immigrants—many of whom are grieving their country of origin and family left behind—her approach to healing was the perfect fit for us. She offers manageable ways to cope with the big feelings that grief can bring to the surface, presenting them in a way that feels attainable and empowering. jfgtherapy.com

We have a special bonus episode this week: I'm joined by Óliver Laxe, the director of the Oscar-nominated Sirāt, to discuss his film about a rave at the end of the world and how we can find community in an age of dislocation and isolation. I wanted to get this out now because a.) the film is expanding this weekend, b.) Laxe himself will be in attendance at a handful of shows across the country over the next week or two here, and c.) it really is the sort of movie you need to see in a theater. For the sound system and the big picture, yes, but also the sense of community a packed theatrical showing can generate. You'll want to experience it with other people, believe me.
Parenthood doesn't always unfold the way we imagine. In this Rare Disease Day special, Sarah shares her family's lived experience of parenting a child with a rare disease — from diagnosis and grief to resilience and connection. It is shared with care, dignity, and the belief that no one should navigate this journey alone.

Ryan also talks about the realities of life on the road, the bond that forms between musicians, and how creativity can help process loss and major life moments. In this episode of Grief Out Loud, we talk with Adell Coleman about her mother who was killed when Adell was just 24 years old. Adell reflects on the closeness of their relationship and how her mom's death radically shifted her sense of safety in the world. She shares how the circumstances around her mother's death, including being the person who found her, has made it difficult to remember how her mom lived, without reliving how she died. Adell also talks about what it's been like raising two daughters who never met their grandmother, but somehow carry her presence in surprising and meaningful ways. She reflects on anniversaries 14 years later, the exhaustion of grief, and how becoming the family "grief expert" interrupted her capacity to engage with her own grief.
