Collin Cottrell looked in the mirror three years ago and decided to change his life. He chose to become the best version of himself, from a husband to a father, friend, and even a runner! He runs crazy long distances and he brings the best out in the people around him. Collin's life transformation is truly amazing. Listen and learn how he stays committed to continual improvement.
What are you doing with your life right now? Is this something to be encouraged by? Is it something that is moving you in the direction that you want to move? If you wait for the perfect time to accomplish something you are passionate about, it might be too late before you succeed. The right time is either invested or wasted. You're either doing something that is moving you forward or something that's moving you backwards. Collin Cottrell shares his life growing up in a small, poor community in Central Minnesota. He talks about how did he get the confidence and desire to reach out and help different people, the importance of having a good mentor, pursuing various interests, projects, or goals you have for your life, what he did do to build his business, and the value of dedicating your time to more important things. Tune in as Collin talks about life, personal growth, entrepreneurship, and more! Quotes: “There are times in your life when it's okay to go and spend a lot of your time chasing various endeavours while you're single and young, so you can learn a lot at that moment to use that as something later in life.” - Collin Cottrell “Now that I'm in my 30s, I have more wisdom, I have more balance in my life, and I'm using these connections in a way where it's not just about me, but about serving and helping others.” - Collin Cottrell “We have to push towards hard things at that moment we don't want to.” - Collin Cottrell Takeaways: Use the time and energy you have right now to accomplish what you've always wanted. But still, it is important to stay aligned with your goals and endeavours. You'll have a lot of things you've learnt as time goes on when you look back. Therewere many opportunities for young people eager to pursue their goals and put in significant effort. Quit making excuses. Take control of your life and stop worrying about what other people are doing. It's time for you to make a change in your life. Do hard things purposely in your life. You'll build commitment and resiliency that will help you get through any challenges you'll face in life. Conclusion: You are probably trying to understand who you are and your type of people. People around you have a big factor for you in building confidence. We all have a different purpose and mission that we need to move forward towards. And as you encounter challenges in life, it's important to learn lessons from your mistakes and keep moving forward.

About a week ago, I went hog hunting in West Texas as part of High Caliber Hunts Hunting Camp 004. It was an awesome weekend spent with some high-caliber men who are crushing it in so many facets of life. I definitely took away some great life lessons from this camp. Though unfortunately, I wasn't able to bring home a kill. I missed my quarry the first time I went to the blind. Still, I went back out to try again! In this solocast, I talk about this experience and why you shouldn't let defeats, shortcomings, and setbacks keep you from moving forward. Check out my most recent conversation with Collin Cottrell, and go see what's going on at High Caliber Hunts! Thank you for listening! To hear more great episodes like this one, click here! While we try to bring new guests on as much as we can, I do enjoy having "old' friends back on the podcast to catch up and see what's new from our last discussion. I met Collin Cottrell back in his early days in the archery and outdoor industry and don't know where those 15+ years have gone. We have both matured a ton since that first encounter and God has blessed us both with amazing lives and ministries. Both civilians but with a heart for those who serve our country and communities, I like to think that we are leveraging our connections in our respective circles to make the lives of others better.Long embedded in the world of marketing and owner of C3 Media, Cottrell founded High Caliber Hunts in 2021, bringing men together around a shared interest in hunting several weekends a year in Texas. Trying to live out Proverbs 27:17, these "iron sharpens iron" gatherings are about much more than hunting. Like minded men are seeing life change through open and honest conversations around the fire, diving into topics ranging from business to marriage to faith and everything in between. Surely not the first to conduct retreats of this kind, I have to applaud my friend for his passion and commitment to investing in the lives of others from a place of seeking nothing in return. A recent offline chat with him revealed just how rewarding making these connections is for the soul as I experience very similar feelings at our HHAUSA events. It's impossible to put a price on connecting good people and I look forward to the day when HHAUSA and High Caliber Hunts can pull off a joint trip together. Stay tuned! Not one to let the grass grow beneath his feet, the Minnesota native has jumped into the world of personal training and is steadily building a list of clients in that arena. Using his own weight loss journey of dropping 100 pounds in just two years, Cottrell is quickly finding success and again helping others become the best version of themselves. He also talks at length about a 100-mile ultra run that he completed in March and how impactful it was for him on many levels. While I could definitely get myself in better shape with his program, it was his upcoming Mastermind Group in late summer 2023 that really grabbed my attention. Partaking in my first series of sessions of this nature during COVID in 2020, I realized the benefits of getting vulnerable with a handful of likeminded individuals seeking self-improvement. I look forward to being part of his inaugural group and guarantee that it will be lifechanging for everyone involved.I could go on and on about what this guy means to me and how our friendship has grown since the 1st of the year as we have reconnected and realized just how much the Lord had blessed us with this reunion. We never know the impact that we will have on other people's lives in the moment and where it may lead. I am thankful for men like Collin Cottrell, who like myself, has left behind his old self to become a servant for a world that is desperate for Godly men to step up and not be afraid to share their faith. As human beings, we will always be limited in what we can accomplish but with God, all things are possible. Collin and I will continue our conversations in the weeks and months ahead and I'm excited for where those will lead.Interested in a High Caliber weekend? For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by Collin Cottrell, owner and founder of High Caliber Hunts. Back in January of 2021, Collin was in a physical state that he was not happy with. He weighed almost 300 pounds and wasn't living to his full potential. He decided to make a change and embarked on a journey of health and wellness. Within two years time, he lost 100 pounds and began training to become an ultra-endurance runner. And just a little over a month ago, Collin successfully ran 100 miles in the Rocky Racoon 100 Trail Race at Huntsville State Park in Texas. Also, just before the release of this episode, he ran 100 kilometers in the Crazy Desert Trail Race at Texas' San Angelo State Park. Now he has his sights set on longer races in the future. I sat down with Collin just a few days after he completed the Rocky Racoon 100 to hear his story. Preparing for an endeavor like this definitely wasn't easy for him. Not only did he have to put in many grueling hours and miles during training. But he also had to make sure that he was putting in the work for his businesses. As well as being present as a husband and a father. In this episode, Collin tells us about how he prepared for the Rocky Raccoon 100 and how he made sure that he still showed up effectively in other areas of his life. He also tells us about what it was like during the race and the mindset that he had while going through it. Furthermore, he and I discuss the importance of utilizing focus, intentionality, and efficiency in order to accomplish amazing things in life. On today's episode, I am joined by Collin Cottrell from High Caliber Hunts. We begin by discussing hunting but our conversation quickly dives into men's fellowship and accountability.
For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by Collin Cottrell, owner and founder of High Caliber Hunts. High Caliber Hunts is a brand that seeks to connect like-minded individuals and build camaraderie through hunting. I recently had the chance to participate on a hog hunt near Dallas, Texas that Collin led. During which I made my first successful wild game kill and had the chance to get to know some incredible men. Hunting is something that Collin has been doing his entire life. While growing up in rural Minnesota, he spent much time outdoors learning the craft and leveling up his life. Now he has his sights set on providing those same opportunities to others. Though there were times in his life when he wasn't living up to his full-potential. And he knew that he had to make changes and put in the work for the sake of his health and his relationships. Now he's on a path of fitness and self-development and coaches others who are on that path as well. In this episode, Collin tells us about his journey as a hunter and how he came to development High Caliber Hunts. He also opens up about the lower points in his life, and how he took action to make the changes that he needed to better himself. He and I also discuss how others can seek change and level up in their own lives! To watch the video of our conversation, head over to the All-Around Adventure YouTube channel! There is nothing I love more than partnering with likeminded individuals that have a heart for serving others. Collin Cottrell with High Caliber Hunts absolutely fits that mold and we are excited to come alongside him and see his new venture grow in the great state of Texas.A fellow Midwesterner born in Minnesota, Cottrell picked up hunting at a young age and once he grabbed a bow, a lifelong passion was born. Growing up in the hunting camps that rifle seasons bring in the Northwoods, it was there that he would experience the comradery and fellowship that he wants to take to another level with High Caliber Hunts.Choosing to stay close to home and attend a tech college so that he could continue that passion of hunting, it become clear that a marketing career in the outdoor space was in his future. A chance encounter with Wilderness Athlete and Cam Hanes would get him kickstarted in the archery world and eventually led to he and I connecting over a decade ago at the ATA Show. Starting a marketing firm on the front end of the newest technologies and platforms of the times, Collin is regarded as one of the early pioneers of the digital media era in archery and the outdoors. While not a Veteran himself, Cottrell has many close friends in the community and has seen firsthand the challenges they face and the healing power of the outdoors working in their lives. It's his deep faith in Christ and his servant's heart that is fueling his latest adventure with HCH and the impact is already being felt by attendees. More than your typical hunting camp, Collin's vision is to have authentic, meaningful, conversations with men willing to go there in an effort to be the best versions of themselves. It's hard to put into words how excited I am to see what the future holds for Cottrell and High Caliber. They are a perfect fit for our mission here at HHAUSA and our prayer is that lives will be changed through this new partnership. The number of recreational hunters in our nation is seeing a steady decline over the past couple of decades. However, it is said that the hunters that remain today are willing to immerse themselves in the world of hunting with greater intensity than the recreational hunters in the recent generations. As the representatives of today’s hunters, we have the responsibility and the duty to guide and encourage new hunters on their journey to becoming better hunters. This is why I wanted to bring on Collin Cottrell today so we could discuss doing just this. Normally, on Friday, you get to listen to me talk about some things that have been bouncing around in my brain but, today, you get to listen to an on-the-spot conversation between me and my friend Collin Cottrell. Collin and I went on a hunt together about a month ago. This was my very first hunt and I thought you’d enjoy hearing about it and the lessons that I learned along the way. So, I asked Collin (again, my friend and founder of Activate the Hunt) to interview me and, of course, I interview him about what goes into a successful hunt and why he does what he does. www.orderofman.com/FFN085 Please leave us a rating and review!
