Last night, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made his first public appearance since the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania. 3:10pm- Bob Menendez Convicted: Nicholas Fandos, Tracey Tully, and Benjamin Weiser of The New York Times write: “Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey was convicted on all counts in a sweeping scheme to sell his office to foreign powers and crooked businessmen in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, a luxury car and bars of solid gold. A jury of 12 New Yorkers convicted him of all 16 counts he faced, on charges including honest services wire fraud, bribery and extortion. Their verdict makes Mr. Menendez, a Democrat whose term expires at year's end, only the seventh sitting U.S. senator to be convicted of a federal crime.” You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/07/16/nyregion/bob-menendez-verdict 3:20pm- While speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Senator J.D. For centuries, the mightiest of theologians have been doing their best work to decipher and interpret Bible prophecies from the New Testament book of Revelation. While many have produced sound Biblical interpretation and teaching on the End Times, one can't help but be intrigued by the shimmer of mystery that the final book of Bible provides. For those not familiar with the Book of Revelation, commit yourselves to understanding one thing: it describes the ultimate battle of good vs. evil.A new PureFlix streaming series dives deep into Scripture and imagines an End Times world that is filled with trials and God's ultimate triumph. Based on a trilogy of movies called ‘Revelation Road', ‘Revelation Road: The Series' follows Josh McManus in the end days as he grapples with really challenging circumstances. Yet he learns to depend on God even when literal demons walk the earth.Set in a post-apocalyptic world, ‘Revelation Road: The Series' is an adrenaline-fueled show where Bible prophecies are being fulfilled and its characters are struggling to see God at work through the absolute worst of times. The stars of ‘Revelation Road: The Series' David AR White and Brian Bosworth join us on the Crossmap Podcast to talk about why this type of program can provide messages of life-affirming faith in God. Listen as they share about the decision to shoot the series in South Africa and the pivotal timing of releasing it during such turbulent times in our world.Links to Revelation Road Watch on PureFlix David AR White Website Brian Bosworth on Instagram Links to Crossmap Crossmap Website Crossmap Facebook
PARTY PLEASER: Melanie & Melvin summarize Beckman, that weird Christian-marketed movie produced by David A.R. White where he plays a John Wick/Taken-esque assassin. The catch? He's a recent Christian convert. Does that stop him from killing dozens of people? Tune in to find out! Topics: (PATREON EXCLUSIVE) 27-minutes discussing the content of Christian movies, interpreting what they're communicating, their advertising, and so much more. (PATREON EXCLUSIVE) Beckman feels like a YouTube movie made by YouTubers back in, like, 2011. You could almost see Freddie Wong making something like it with Corridor Digital, except probably more fun. Melvin never watched Beckman even though he's owned it since mid-2020. Then, he watched it twice in a row for... reasons. David A.R. White routinely plays pastors in the movies he produces. Melvin finds this to be an odd reoccurrence.Gabriel Sabloff shared in the commentary track that he does a hard cut to action in the middle of the first act because he felt audiences would lose interest in the setup. Melvin comments that this is a recurrent problem in which certain director's lack trust in their audience to patiently engage a movie.Beckman keeps calling Tabitha his daughter. One big problem: she's not his daughter. They're not even blood related.Beckman is too self-serious as a movie to be particularly enjoyable, especially when compared to something like John Wick where the whole franchise is simultaneously "serious" but very aware of its exciting-thrill-ride nature.Exploring the wisdom behind applyied violence.Recommendations:Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) (Movie) & Vol. 2 (2004) (Movie)Missing (2023) (Movie) Support the showSupport on Patreon for Unique Perks! Religion and God being no stranger to MST we look at God's Not Dead strictly for its cinematic mishaps and not so much its message or religious belief. With Newsboys and Duck Dynasty involved it's hard but we pretty much do it.

David has been working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles for over fifteen years. Raised in a small farming town outside of Dodge City, Kansas, David grew up the son of a Mennonite preacher. After high school, David attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago; however, he left Moody after one year and moved to Los Angeles. At the age of nineteen, without knowing anyone, and only six months after moving, David landed a recurring role on the hit CBS TV sitcom, Evening Shade for four years. He played the best friend of Burt Reynolds's son, David, then went on to make guest appearances on such shows as: Coach, Saved by the Bell, Sisters, Melrose Place, Martial Law, and many others. Raised in the church, David was very familiar with Christian films, and had a passion to use his gifts and talents to make films that uplift and inspire the human spirit. In 1999, with that passion, David produced and starred in the feature-length film, The Moment After. The following year, he produced and starred in the groundbreaking film, Mercy Streets. David was nominated for a movie guide “best actor” award for his dual roles in the film.
