Rosalee Mayeux's journey to stand-up comedy hasbeen anything but conventional. Born in an adoption home in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised on a rice farm, she went on to become a high-fashion Ford model in New York and Paris, appearing in more than 300 commercials and serving as the face of campaigns for major brands including Maybelline and Clairol.  She also starred in films such as the cult classic The Lawnmower Man, Blast From the Past, and They Came FromOuterspace. She dreamed of directing car commercials andbecame an artist-in-residence in Quentin Tarantino's commercial directing division. Then, she got diagnosed with cancer and was told there was no cure and no more time to live.  She beat the odds and a career in standup was born.She's been a fixture on the comedy circuit nationwide and now just released her new TV special Rosalee Mayeux: Model Mom. Former police officer and Pig Latin Eric Tansey author reacts to shocking bodycam footage of a Michigan lawnmower chase where a fleeing suspect pulls a gun, is tased, and accidentally shoots himself. Jackson, Michigan — On September 19, 2024, Deputy Robert Henderson arrived at a home in Leoni Township to arrest 41-year-old James Mitchell Kerr on a felony probation violation and two misdemeanor warrants. Kerr was riding a lawnmower when the deputy approached and ordered him to stop. Instead of complying, Kerr accelerated the mower until he reached a ditch — and then the situation took a dangerous turn. Kerr retrieved a handgun hidden on the mower, prompting Deputy Henderson to deploy his Taser. In the chaos, Kerr discharged the firearm and shot himself in the hand. Backup officers quickly arrived, took Kerr into custody, and transported him to the hospital before transferring him to jail. He now faces multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder and resisting arrest, with the case advancing to trial in Jackson County Circuit Court.

The Lawnmower Man himself finally makes an appearance on The Kingcast. Jeff Fahey's career is impressive just by itself, but doubly impressive for us Stephen King nerds when you realize he's something of King royalty, popping up in adaptations of The Institute, Under the Dome, and, yes, The Lawnmower Man. We discuss all three, plus talk about his latest film, The Final Run, out in select theaters and on demand right now.

Your Stupid Minds returns to computer with a sequel to 1992's cyber thriller The Lawnmower Man. Except 1996's Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace (or is it Jobe's War?) is bigger, dumber, and significantly less financially successful, somehow opening at #19 in the box office on 1,600 screens. Starring no one from the original movie except Austin O'Brien. Peter (O'Brien) is an orphaned street urchin on the mean streets of cyberpunk L.A. And when it's cyberpunk L.A. you know what that means! It's perpetually night, it's torrentially raining, and people are warming their hands on fire barrels to counteract Southern California's famously cold climate. We can assume some kind of nuclear winter has set in, but it's never mentioned. Peter and his cadre of Burger King Kids Club members (including a dog) live in an abandoned subway tunnel and hack into cyberspace using stolen phone cards. That's where he recognizes Jobe (Matt Frewer) despite his dying in the last movie and being recast in this one as a completely different type of guy. Jobe wants him to get in contact with Dr. Benjamin Trace (Patrick Bergin) a replacement for Pierce Brosnan's Dr. Lawrence Angelo from the last movie. Once they get in contact, Jobe is trying to crack open the Chiron Chip so he can do evil cyberspace stuff. His friendly facade quickly crumbles and he starts doing his Jim Carrey Riddler imitation that Frewer eventually perfects in Generation X. What follows up until the last ten minutes isn't particularly important. Trace must do a CGI sword fight with Jobe to restore order or something. Also the dog can insert mini CD-ROMs with his paw.

Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan) has devoted his life to the study of virtual reality and in order to pursue his studies, he must work under a government contract at VSI alongside Timms (Mark Bringelson) and under the giant head of the mysterious Director (Dean Norris). Using a VR program, the Doc seeks to enhance the intelligence of a chimp while VSI seeks to make it a weapon. The project goes wrong and the chimp is killed in an escape in front of neighborhood staple, Jobe (Jeff Fahey). The Doc decides Jobe is about as smart as his previous subject, so why not? What began as a weird short story with mythological overtones about an absurdly large man who eats a ton of lawn clippings ended up as a movie about a mentally challenged lawnmower who becomes VR Hitler thanks to Pierce Brosnan with an earring. This is the movie so radically different from the source material that it inspired not just one, but two different lawsuits from Stephen King.
