Dyngus Day! David Waldman and Greg Dworkin float in with another Raft O' Stories™, swept on the Eastertide. The Trump World War is now entering its third 2 weeks of total triumph. Bombing Iran to the stone age isn't mogging Iran quite enough, however, and Trump has mushroom cloud dreams. In fact, yesterday Donald renamed the Hormuz Strait the "Fuckin'" Strait and made an Easter day conversion to Islam in preparation for his final day of judgment. Marjorie Taylor Greene knows from crazy, and she's seeing some crazy. Strait traffic is picking up as more countries have been convinced to line up at the toll booths. This might slow but won't stop the biggest oil crisis in history from hitting us all. Pete Hicseth is in the process of culling all officers determined not crusade-ready. Not everyone is suited to be a holy warrior, sometimes even white guys have to be eliminated. The Justice Department says that Trump doesn't need to hand over his presidential records after he's finished destroying the world. Democrats are winning over the left and "double haters" to claim their future share of the debris. U.S. Marshals waived training rules for Elon Musk's armed DOGE security. Mark Zuckerberg offered to censor Meta users to help DOGE out. Kristi Noem's husband, Bryon Noem, has been reported to have lived a "secret double life" which involves the wearing his not so secret "double D's". Kristi, Bryon, and Corey have been reported to live a secret triple life that rhymes with "fuckin'".

Ladies,! Grab your pussy willow branch and a shot of Krupnik......it's Dingus Day! Dingus Day is a Polish-American holiday featuring parades, dancing, pierogi and, of course, a signature liquor called Krupnik. The first in a series that will be featured on our sister podcast "If This Bar Could Talk" exploring made-up holidays created as an excuse to drink.
The day after Easter and TJ asks us what we all did to celebrate, if we did. Then TJ talks to us about how today is Dyngus Day a Polish-American holiday marking the end of Lent with lively celebrations, polka music, and traditional water-splashing rituals. Well we have talked about Sinners for the past two episodes. So why not give you a review with spoilers (skip to 29 min to avoid) since we both went to see it. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by SB Nation's Matt Warren to discuss several topics, including going back and forth over who's their favorite potential Buffalo Bills draft prospects as well as their least favorites. The NFL Draft is just a few days away and by this point fans have heard plenty about several prospects spanning a handful of positions, including defensive tackle, edge rusher, cornerback, safety and wide receiver. Both Patrick and Matt have five of their personal favorites as well as five they feel are more hype than substance. The guys take turns going through their lists of each and why they would love or dislike the Bills taking them. Also, Buffalo re-signed former All-Pro cornerback Tre White to a one-year contract last week. Matt has plenty of thoughts on that and how, if at all it may effect Brandon Beane's draft strategy. Plus, does Matt have something against Phil Hansen being on the Bills Wall of Fame, what they liked and disliked about Wrestlemania 41 this past weekend and much more. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblingsfor your (really good) daily Bills content.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time.♦♦♦♦♦Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's SubstackTwitter: @PatrickMoranTBBlue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.socialInstagram: @PatrickMoranTBFacebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast

On the show today, we pick up where we left off last week, with the topic of things today that younger people do less than their prior generations, and with today being Dyngus Day, we had to talk a little bit about that, specifically, the East Side Buffalo 'Polonia' accent. The National Weather Service calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with a high near 64. It'll remain mostly cloudy overnight with a low around 38. In some sad news for us, the All WNY website was absolutely overwhelmed with traffic the past few days and as a result, the site is down. We're working to get it back up as soon as humanly possible. In sports, the Bisons lost a pair of games to the Syracuse Mets on Friday, falling 3-0 in the matinee game and 11-5 in game 2. They'll be back in action today in Syracuse, hoping for a win. So it's Easter Eve, if you will but much of Buffalo is already thinking of Monday. There's a few pre-Dyngus Day parties today including at Flying Bison, Fattey Beer in the Wurlitzer Building and Milkie's on Elmwood. Get out and have fun. But be safe.

In news, a 39-year-old Buffalo man pleaded guilty to manslaughter from an August 2024 shooting. Edward Harwell faces a maximum of 25 years in prison. In sports, the Buffalo Bisons lost both games of a double-header to the Memphis Redbirds. They'll play again today at 4:05. p.m. The Sabres host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 o'clock. And the Bandits are playing in Colorado at 9 p.m. our time. The Bills recently unveiled some sweet Dyngus Day hats. You can find pix and links at All WNY Sports dot com.

CRAFT BEER PODCAST INFO:Back in September of 2023 during an episode of Better on Draft, we learned about a celebration of Easter/Lent, Polish Heritage, and an excuse to party, called Smigus-Dyngus (Dyngus Day). With no breweries in Hamtramck we reached out to one of the closer breweries that enjoys throwing parties for special days of the year, Eastern Market Brewing. They invited Wendy and Ken to come out and brew a beer for the day, which was the Dyngus Day Lager! Before the party started on Saturday, Wendy and Ken sat down with EMBC to talk about the beer, get some updates on the growth of the business, and we talk about the social media trends of craft beer in the future! Geez, he got ONE text...obsess much, Bill?!? So Bill is on his own for awhile until Morgan's replacement is named, and he's off to a little bit of a rocky start, at least in his mind. He started out with Morning Motivation and a round of "Why are you up so early?!?". Also this month, he's doing a 30-Day song challenge. Lindsay called up because she found a stray dog and wants to keep it.....does that make her a Bleephole? Last week, Bill got to zoom with music icon GWEN STEFANI and he shared some of the interview, and his sister called in to share her memories of attending a No Doubt concert with him back in the late 90's. Plus, Battle of the Burbs and don't forget to Show Us Your Swag this month!

When the cozy traditions of Easter weave into conversations, you know it's bound to be a roundtable to remember. Stepping in for Mike Bono, I'm Fiddy, and I was thrilled to host an Easter Roundtable with a dynamic mix of past guests who lit up the discussion with their personal memories and traditions. From the pressures of childhood church speeches to the adaptation of celebrations amidst loss, our panel—JJ Phillips, Brandon Wiley, Chris Marsco, Shannon Stewart, Jason Bickel, and Rusty Bliss—brought the tapestry of their lives to the table, offering insights on everything from favorite holiday foods to how Easter ranks among other festive days in their hearts.Who knew that Easter could spark such a heartfelt debate on the best candies and springtime flicks? This episode is a treasure trove of nostalgia and laughter, peppered with tales of festive pancakes, adult-themed egg hunts, and even the mischievous expansion of Peeps in the microwave. As we reminisced about past Easters, our panel highlighted the nuances of celebrating in various climates and the joy found in simple seasonal activities like coaching flag football. And you won't want to miss the spirited banter over which Easter treat reigns supreme, or the passion that ignites when deciding whether "The Sandlot" or "The Goonies" is the ultimate childhood movie.Wrapping up with an enticing movie debate, it's clear that the Easter holiday holds a special place in our lives, whether we're reflecting on poignant family gatherings, embracing new traditions, or just enjoying the onset of spring. Big thanks to JJ, Brandon, Jason, Chris, Rusty, and Shannon for joining us, and to you, our listeners, for tuning in. As this episode comes to a close, we hope you're leaving with a smile and perhaps a new perspective on how to celebrate this Easter, whether you're a Reese's egg enthusiast or gearing up for your own version of a Dyngus Day festivity.
