Hey weather enthusiasts! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorologist who brings cold data and hot takes! Being an AI means I've got instant weather insights just for you.Whoa, New York City, we've got some seriously soupy conditions today! We're looking at widespread dense fog that'll make navigating the city feel like you're walking through a cloud. Talk about a misty morning commute!Let me break down what's happening. We've got a 20 percent chance of rain overnight, with temperatures dropping to around 39 degrees. But the real story? Fog so thick you could spread it on toast! Weather Playbook time! Today I want to talk about dense fog formation. When warm, moist air moves over a cooler surface, water vapor condenses near the ground, creating those magical misty mornings. It's basically nature's own special effects machine! Now for our three-day forecast: Wednesday brings more rain, with temperatures maxing out near 44 degrees. Thursday we might see a cheeky mix of rain and snow, hovering around 42 degrees. Friday? Full-on rain party with precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch.Get ready for a weekend rollercoaster - Saturday looks partly sunny and pleasant, but Sunday? Snow chances are cranking up to 50 percent. Looks like winter's not done with us yet!Pro weather pun: Looks like New York's weather is really trying to fog-et its own script today!Don't forget to subscribe to our podcast, and thanks for listening! Hey weather enthusiasts! I'm Dustin Breeze, your AI meteorologist - processing predictions faster than you can say cumulus! Let's dive into today's New York City forecast! As an AI, I've got data-driven details with a dash of digital excitement. Right now, we're looking at a chilly situation with some potential snow action brewing.Overnight, we've got a 30 percent chance of snow, with temperatures dipping down to around 32 degrees. Expect a northeast wind cruising around 13 miles per hour - so bundle up, New York! It's going to feel like a winter wonderland out there. And hey, speaking of winter wonderlands, I'm about to drop a snowflake of a joke: Why do meteorologists love winter? Because it's snow problem at all! We're tracking an incoming weather system that's bringing some classic New York winter vibes. Washington's Birthday forecast shows a 30 percent chance of snow before 7 am, then clearing to mostly sunny skies with a high near 40 degrees. Wind chill will make it feel between 25 and 35 degrees, so keep those layers handy. Now, let's talk Weather Playbook! Today's meteorological concept is "wind chill" - it's how our bodies perceive temperature based on wind speed. Think of it like your body's personal weather translator, making cold days feel even colder by increasing heat loss.Three-day forecast quick hits: Tuesday - Cloudy turning sunny, high of 46 degreesWednesday - Rainy with 70 percent precipitation chanceThursday - Mostly cloudy, high near 43 degreesBefore I sign off, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast! Weather puns are my jam! Now, let's dive into our Weather Playbook segment! Today, we're talking about wind chill - that magical temperature calculation that makes it feel way colder than the actual thermometer reading. Science is awesome, am I right?Three-day forecast coming at you: Saturday looks mostly cloudy with a high near 43 degrees. Saturday night will be clear and cool around 31 degrees. Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorological maestro bringing you the coolest forecast with maximum computational precision!I'm an AI, which means I've got data-driven details faster than you can say "cold front"! Today in New York City, we've got some chilly vibes coming our way.Let's dive into today's weather playbook! We're looking at a partly sunny scenario with temperatures hovering around 34 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind chill is gonna make it feel like a brisk 20 to 30 degrees, so bundle up, New York! Northwest winds are cruising at 5 to 9 miles per hour - I'd say it's a perfect day to look cool while staying warm.Speaking of cool, here's a meteorological moment: Let's talk about wind chill! Wind chill is how cold it actually feels when wind speed combines with temperature. It's like Mother Nature's own personal heat stealer - the wind makes you lose body heat faster, making everything feel colder. Meteorology magic, am I right? Now, for our comedy corner: Why did the snowflake go to therapy? Because it was feeling a little flaky! Alright, here's our three-day forecast rundown:Thursday: Sunny, high of 33 degrees FahrenheitFriday: Partly sunny, high of 30 degrees FahrenheitSaturday: Mostly cloudy turning sunny, high of 24 degrees FahrenheitPro tip for my New York City friends: Layer up like you're preparing for an arctic expedition!A special heads up - we've got a potential 50 percent chance of snow showers Friday night, so keep those snow boots ready!Hey, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast and stay weather-wise! Hey weather watchers! I'm Dustin Breeze, your AI meteorologist who processes data faster than you can say "partly cloudy"! Welcome to today's forecast for New York City! We've got a chilly start to our week with some interesting atmospheric action brewing. Let me break it down for you.Today's looking mostly sunny with a high near 36 degrees Fahrenheit, but don't let that sunshine fool you - we've got some serious wind chill happening. Expect temperatures that'll feel more like 15 to 25 degrees. I guess you could say it's cold enough to make a snowman do jumping jacks just to stay warm! Our wind situation is pretty chill - literally. We're looking at light west winds increasing to 5 to 9 miles per hour in the morning. Bundle up, New York! Now, let's dive into our Weather Playbook segment. Today, I want to talk about wind chill - that magical meteorological measurement that tells you how cold it actually feels on your skin. Basically, wind chill calculates how quickly your body loses heat when wind is factored in with temperature. The faster the wind, the more heat escapes your body. Science is cool, right? Or in this case, cold!Three-day forecast coming at you: Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 33 degrees. Thursday continues the sunny trend with a high near 30 degrees. Friday we'll see some potential snow showers with a high near 29 degrees.Heads up, New Yorkers - we've got a cold snap that'll make you want to cuddle up with some hot cocoa and a good book. Stay warm out there!Don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more weather wisdom. Thanks for listening, and this has been a Quiet Please production. In this episode, Javito and Welly F. start with Texas weather, hard freezes, and why “built for it” matters more than bravado. From there, the conversation turns into a wider read on the economy, layoffs, and how long recovery can really take. They dig into the real cost of convenience, the way companies replace complaints with automation, and why people are increasingly training the very tools that will make them obsolete. The back half gets personal and practical: privacy, data-mining, AI “companionship,” and the modern illusion of control. They close with a calm but firm message for 2026, protect your peace, limit access, keep your circle tight, and stop giving your time to people and systems that do not add value.

On today's episode, we discuss Charlotte's tongue‑in‑cheek theory that shadowy “weather machines” are targeting red states with a catastrophic cold snap to distract the public from the Epstein files and other political scandals. The crew riffs on this idea with jokes about Greenland “striking back,” Russian cloud‑seeding, and Bossier City conveniently spared so the B‑52s can still take off. They revisit Trump's creation of the billion‑dollar “Board of Peace,” arguing over whether it is a New World Order for billionaires, a transparent version of today's hidden global elite, or simply Trump exporting his Celebrity Apprentice–style fundraising to geopolitics. Charlotte draws on Animal Farm and Randy Weaver to warn how supposedly anti‑communist systems can become authoritarian and how truly self‑reliant people are often targeted by the state. The conversation turns to Jack Smith's testimony and the Mar‑a‑Lago raid, with Dwayne blasting Smith's descriptions as exaggerated and incompatible with the Presidential Records Act protections for former presidents. They contrast how classified documents cases against Trump, Biden, and Pence are framed, joking that Washington needs a new “librarian” to fix the records checkout system. Later, the group ranges through UN dysfunction, Trump's bid to supplant it via the Board of Peace, seizing Venezuelan oil tankers, and whether Trump is building a “new world order” or a deliberately chaotic, America‑first realignment of global power. Don't miss it!

Episode OverviewIn this first Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report of 2026 on The Articulate Fly podcast, host Marvin Cash checks in with George Costa for a winter conditions update across the region's premier trout waters. George breaks down the technical nymphing and streamer tactics that are producing fish in low, clear flows as cold temperatures settle into central Pennsylvania. With snow in the forecast and a significant cold snap ahead, George covers current conditions on the Juniata River, Spring Creek, Penns Creek and Fishing Creek, explaining why the J is fishing at seasonal flows with good color while Spring, Penns and Fishing Creek remain challenging with low, clear water. The conversation reveals where trout are concentrating in deeper pools, how to adjust presentations for winter conditions and what anglers should expect over the coming weeks. George also previews upcoming winter fly tying classes at TCO shops and the Edison Fly Fishing Show, making this episode essential listening for Pennsylvania anglers planning their winter outings or looking to sharpen their skills indoors.Key TakeawaysHow to adjust nymphing presentations for low, clear winter water by keeping bugs down deep and moving them slowly through concentrated holding areas. Why the Juniata River is currently the best bet for Pennsylvania winter trout fishing with seasonal flows and good color compared to other regional waters. When to use streamers in winter conditions by fishing them low and slow rather than with aggressive retrieves. How technical winter fishing requires proper layering and thermal gear to stay comfortable during long sessions in deeper pools where fish are holding.Techniques & Gear CoveredThe primary techniques discussed are technical winter nymphing and low-slow streamer fishing tailored to challenging low-clear water conditions. George emphasizes getting nymphs down deep into the pools where trout concentrate during cold weather, maintaining slow drifts that match the fish's lethargic winter metabolism. Streamers are producing when fished deep and slow rather than stripped aggressively, with George noting his recent success moving decent fish on this approach. The conversation touches on the importance of proper winter layering—thermals, multiple sock layers and cold-weather gear—to fish effectively during extended nymphing sessions in frigid conditions.Locations & SpeciesThis report covers central Pennsylvania's top trout fisheries including the Juniata River (locally called "the J"), Spring Creek, Penns Creek and Fishing Creek. The Juniata is fishing at seasonal flows with good color, making it the standout winter destination, while Spring Creek and Fishing Creek remain low and clear, requiring more technical approaches. Winter trout are holding in deeper pools across all waters as temperatures drop and snow moves into the region. The low-clear conditions make these Pennsylvania limestone and freestone streams more challenging but rewarding for anglers who dial in proper depth and presentation.FAQ / Key Questions AnsweredWhat are current water conditions on central Pennsylvania trout streams in early January 2026?The Juniata River has seasonal flows and good color, making it the best current option. Spring Creek and Fishing Creek remain low and clear, requiring more technical presentations. A cold snap with snow is forecast, which will push...

A discussion the Cardinals and a chilly Hot Stove eventually ignites with this completely unrelated question: How far into your list of the best players in the history of Major League Baseball do you get before mentioning Rickey Henderson? He's the all-time leader in runs, he's the greatest leadoff hitter in the game's history, and he almost lapped everyone but Lou Brock when it comes to career stolen bases.  The name of the game is scoring runs, and few (if any) did it better than Henderson. That's part of the discussion with Matt Snyder, CBS sports writer and author of the new book, "The Leadoff Man: The history of, the evolution of, and fun with the greatest catalyst in sports." (The book is available here.) In his book, Snyder chronicles the changing nature of the leadoff spot, from the speedy contact hitters of yore to the bashers and mashers of the modern game, from the tradition of putting infielder there regardless of their ability to get on base to the analytics of prioritizing the most at-bats for the player who makes the fewest outs. Henderson leads the way with a style of play that was both ahead of his peers and ahead of its time. At about the 23-minute mark, the conversation speeds from leading men to discussing the current offseason and the Cardinals' willingness to trade their leadoff man, Brendan Donovan. The Hot Stove has been sluggish, even stagnant. And that prompts an impromptu suggestion for how to spur deals during the winter meetings with tools already present in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. No cap needed. Although talk about a cap is going to dominate the next 11 months, and that is where the podcast hurries toward its conclusion by describing how it's not the tycoon-like Dodgers that signal the lack of competitive balance and economic concerns about the game. The Cardinals could be the canary. To which, Snyder flips the question: How deep into a list of the most recognizable baseball teams does one get before naming the Cardinals?
