Forever Good. Forever Faithful. Always Thankful. Psalm 136
Women's Bible Study
Speaker: Robert ConnIn a world that constantly changes, God never does. His mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness never fails. Faithfulness isn't flashy; it's showing up when it's hard and staying when it's inconvenient. Like grapes growing in clusters, faithfulness flourishes in community when we stay connected to Jesus and to one another.Need Prayer?
Main Point: Our faithful Father will fulfill his promises of redemption in Christ.Outline:1. Praise and remembrance (1-37)2. Present reality (38-45)3. Plea for restoration (46-52)Promised redemption in Christ (1-52)
The deadliest forest fire disaster in US history was the Peshtigo Fire in Northeast Wisconsin. It occurred on the same night as the better-known Chicago Fire (October 8, 1871) but claimed several hundred more lives. Peshtigo, a fast-growing city of wooden buildings and part of the lumber industry, was consumed within an hour by the inferno fanned by gusting winds. Besides scorched china and a brick kiln, among the few items the fire left behind was a small, open Bible. Flames singed its cover and extreme heat petrified its pages, yet it remained intact. It can be viewed in a museum in the city today. The little Bible’s preservation calls to mind an assurance God gave His people in another trying time: “The grass withers, and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Though “firestorms” of invasion and exile threatened, God affirmed that He would be faithful to His promises and would never forsake those who turned to Him—come what may. The Bible in Peshtigo, still partially legible, was opened to Psalms 106 and 107. Both psalms contain these words in their first verses: “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Even in the greatest trials of our lives, His words and love never falter. And we will thank Him forever because of it.

“He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction…” — 2 Corinthians 1:4 (ESV)My beloved child,I've seen every tear that fell in secret. I've heard every prayer spoken through clenched teeth and quiet groans. I've watched you endure moments you thought would break you completely—and I need you to know this: none of it has been wasted. You may not understand why the pain came. You may never fully know why certain doors closed, why healing didn't arrive the way you prayed, or why the silence lasted so long. But I do. And I am still writing your story. What you thought was the end… was only the beginning of something deeper.Every moment of suffering has shaped you, not just for survival—but for purpose. You now carry a depth that cannot be taught in classrooms. You carry compassion that only comes from walking through the fire.I comforted you not just to make you feel better—but to equip you. To prepare you. To position you to speak life into others who feel like they're drowning.Your pain has become your ministry. Your scars—now sacred reminders—that I brought you through. And though I didn't cause every hardship, I have used every one of them to draw you closer, deeper, stronger.Do not be ashamed of the season you came through. It has refined your voice, softened your heart, and anchored your soul in ways you don't yet realize.I'm not done with you. And I'm certainly not done using your story. So keep walking. Keep testifying. Keep loving people with the same comfort I gave you.I'm not wasting your pain.I'm redeeming it.— Forever Faithful,Your FatherSupport MyR2B Ministries:MyR2B Ministries is our full-time ministry. "For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God." — Hebrews 3:4My beloved child,You've carried more than you thought you could. You've stood at the door of your home, guarding, weeping, fighting in prayer when no one else saw. I have seen it all. And I want you to hear this:I am the Builder of your home. You are not raising your children alone. You are not holding your marriage together by your own strength. I have been working behind every tear, under every whispered prayer, through every act of obedience—small or great.I am not building for the moment. I am building for eternity. When you corrected in love, I was shaping their conscience. When you worshiped in the living room, I was filling the room with My Spirit. When you prayed at midnight with tired eyes, I was dispatching angels. When you taught truth when it wasn't popular, I was planting roots.Nothing has been wasted. No moment has gone unseen. You are raising arrows—sharp, steady, and called. And while you may not see the fullness of the harvest yet, trust Me—the foundation is being laid deep. I'm not just interested in making your home peaceful. I'm making it holy. There will be days when it feels like you're falling short. But I am not measuring your performance. I am honoring your faithfulness. So take heart. Keep sowing. Keep loving. Keep leading.Your obedience is building something you cannot yet see—an inheritance of righteousness, a generation that knows My name, and a legacy that will speak long after you're gone.I am with you. After Eli, the priest, has confronted his sons regarding their sin, God sends an unnamed prophet to confront Eli. Eli's house has been honored by God for generations and received great blessings, but has, in return, dishonored God. God rejects Eli and his line, but his redemptive plan won't end. Instead, He will raise up another line of priests who will be faithful forever.

October 1, 2023 | Malachi 2:10-16 | Unfaithful Before a Forever Faithful God | The Book of Malachi: Realigning Our Lives With the Purpose of God | Zack Yarbrough
When Xavier was an elementary student, I drove him to and from school. One day, things didn’t go according to plan. I was late to pick him up. I parked the car, praying frantically as I ran toward his classroom. I found him hugging his backpack as he sat on a bench next to a teacher. “I’m so sorry, Mijo. Are you okay?” He sighed. “I’m fine, but I’m mad at you for being late.” How could I blame him? I was mad at me too. I loved my son, but I knew there would be many times when I’d disappoint him. I also knew he might feel disappointed with God one day. So I worked hard to teach him that God never has and never will break a promise. Psalm 33 encourages us to celebrate God’s faithfulness with joyful praises (vv. 1–3) because “the word of the lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does” (vv. 4–5). Using the world God created as tangible proof of His power and dependability (vv. 5–7), the psalmist calls on the “people of the world” to worship God (vv. 8–9). When plans fail or people let us down, we can be tempted to be disappointed in God. However, we can rely on God’s trustworthiness because His plans “stand firm forever” (vv. 10–11). We can praise God, even when things go wrong because our loving Creator sustains everything and everyone. God is forever faithful.

Of all the letters that Jesus wrote, I believe this is the one he enjoyed the most. Of all the seven churches, I could have joined back in that day I could have easily moved to Philadelphia and joined this church. They probably heard of some of the other letters that Jesus had written and they were probably nervous when they opened up their envelope, but they had no reason to be. Jesus had absolutely nothing negative to say about this church. It wasn't a perfect church, but it was a blameless church. So as we take a closer look at the church in Philadelphia, we are going to learn this lesson: when you stand true to God, God will come through for you. When we stand true to God, three things happen. Let's look at those three things together.
