Are you feeling a deep, unexplainable longing for something more? In this message, Pastor Ben Hays kicks off our summer sermon series, "Can You Even Imagine?", by exploring the universal human ache for eternity. Drawing from Hebrews 11:13–16, Pastor Ben looks at the lives of the patriarchs—like Abraham and Sarah—who lived as strangers and exiles on this earth, looking forward to a heavenly homeland. Discover why our days are numbered, why our best life is actually yet to come, and how a "holy homesickness" is ultimately God's way of pointing us toward our true citizenship in heaven. Find peace in the promise that while life brings hardship now, an imperishable inheritance awaits us through Jesus Christ.

This psalm of longing is set to the relatively well-known traditional melody, ‘Down by the Salley Gardens.' Its iconic imagery of the deer panting or longing for streams of water, as our souls thirst for God, leads us into this depiction of someone whose soul is “cast down” and needing to be reminded of something to hope in.Get your accompanying journal, which includes further questions for reflection and some invitations to prayer and practicePaid subscribers receive a free journal PDF, or you can purchase a paperback versionVisit the Celtic Psalms website for scores/books, mp3s, CDs, and videos for As the Deer Longs for Streams Find out more about the Habits for the Spirit course: an 8-week online course exploring habits and daily spiritual practices to promote wellbeing in body, mind, and spiritFollow Kiran's monthly reflections on Bless My FeetPsalms for the Spirit is a reader-supported publication. Send us Fan MailA late-race surge, a flow-state descent, and a new home with the bird—this conversation with Jane Moss is pure momentum. We kick off with Black Canyon 50K where Jane, still two weeks removed and sore in all the usual places, explains how a volume-first, low‑workout block set her up to race by feel. She breaks down the risk of going out hot, the mental game of tuning out hype, and the moment she finally spotted the leader's hat and decided to chase. It's a masterclass in pacing, patience, and trusting your body when the course is fast and the field runs deep. From the desert to the Pyrenees, Jane takes us inside her 2025 Worlds experience: a chaotic mass start, a wasp's nest stinging the pack, and a short trail course that felt more like a sky race—steep, technical, and unforgiving. She shares how early course previews paid off, why she managed effort to protect a top‑ten finish, and how running with teammates in Spain reinforced the habits that keep her sharp: sleep, simple routines, and a clear head. The confidence shift is obvious—she's not just a mountain specialist anymore; she's versatile on fast terrain and happy to prove it.Then we climb. Jane details the Grand Teton FKT: five total reps in a month, dialing lines through boulder fields and saddles, and testing how her head handles exposure. A rival's quick mark dented confidence, but a tight weather window turned pressure into freedom. She climbed better than ever, hit the summit ahead of schedule, and descended in a rare flow state to set 3:45. That single day expanded her map of what's possible and set the tone for bigger mountain goals. We wrap on her signing with Arc'teryx and why it matters. Jane wants a brand that values both racing and ambitious objectives, and she's already feeding product teams real-world input on shoes for mixed terrain—think flatirons scrambles, Madeira's ridges, and fast 50Ks. Her 2026 plan blends it all: a true sky race in Spain, Madeira 56K, Minotaur, a Wasatch Whirl FKT attempt, CCC, and aspirational times on Longs and Whitney. Today's readings.. (Leviticus 19), (Psalm 19:81-128), (Luke 2)These are the first words in our Psalms reading; what does your soul long for, is it the same as the Psalmist? We read, “My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. My eyes long for your promise …” (Ps.119 v.81,82) There is real urgency in his expressions – do we share that sense of urgency? Then we come to 3 extra-special verses (v.97-99) it would be good to memorize. They start, “O how love I your law! It is my meditation all the day; your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.” God's law is to be loved, to be meditated upon – and the result of doing this, the Psalmist says, “I hold back my feet from every evil way in order to keep your word.” [v.101] His next thoughts are, “ … you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth … therefore I hate every false way.” The Psalmist continues, “Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.” [v.111] The “law” that the Israelites were expected to “love” was no set of ‘thou shalt not's. Jesus found them “sweet” and as we read Luke ch. 2 we pondered the conversation that the 12 year old Jesus had in the temple – where Mary and Joseph eventually found him “sitting among the teachers … asking them questions. And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.” [v.46,47]The chapter concludes in this lovely way, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature (or years) and in favour with God and man.” May we all do the same, although it is becoming increasingly difficult to increase in favour with our fellow humans because of the great God-less state of the world that is now around us, but this will lead us to say with greater and greater fervency and meaning, “My soul longs for your salvation.”
Pastoral Reflections Finding God In Ourselves by Msgr. Don Fischer
Gospel Matthew 18:21-35 Peter approached Jesus and asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. That is why the Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who decided to settle accounts with his servants. When he began the accounting, a debtor was brought before him who owed him a huge amount. Since he had no way of paying it back, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife, his children, and all his property, in payment of the debt. At that, the servant fell down, did him homage, and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back in full.' Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan. When that servant had left, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a much smaller amount. He seized him and started to choke him, demanding, ‘Pay back what you owe.' Falling to his knees, his fellow servant begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' But he refused. Instead, he had him put in prison until he paid back the debt. Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply disturbed, and went to their master and reported the whole affair. His master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to. Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?' Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt. So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives your brother from your heart.” Reflection In our relationship with God, it seems to me it all begins when you understand who He is and who he is for us. This God loves, cares for us. Longs for nothing more than we grow and change and evolve. That's his compassionate heart. And when one is not touched by that, if one does not feel that compassion, one cannot understand the demand from the gospel that we must always be people filled with forgiveness. This man that's in this story is not touched by the kindness of God. He doesn't feel that as a compassionate act, just as something that helped him out, that something that gave him more of what he wanted. He was totally wrapped up in himself. In his ego and what was good for him. So the first and most important thing for each of us is to understand the love that God has for us, and once we feel it, once we have it in our heart, we will always give it to others. Closing Prayer Father, you're the source of everything for us. You are the one who creates within us compassion, empathy, love, forgiveness. Help us to be open to this gift. Help us to know that without you, we can fall into the trap of being fully focused on ourself and whatever works for us. But we need your compassion in our hearts. And we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this sermon from Dwelling House Church, Pastor Jeremiah Genin teaches on Jesus as the Compassionate One, revealing the heart of Christ toward the broken, the weary, and the overlooked. This message invites us to see compassion not as a personality trait, but as a defining characteristic of who Jesus is and how He interacts with people. Through Scripture, Pastor Jeremiah shows how Jesus was consistently moved with compassion—healing the sick, restoring the outcast, forgiving sinners, and responding to human need with mercy and love. This sermon challenges believers to not only receive the compassion of Jesus, but to reflect it in their own lives as evidence of a transformed heart. This teaching is for anyone who: Longs to experience God's mercy and grace personally Wants to understand the heart of Jesus more deeply Feels worn down, unseen, or in need of restoration Is searching for a Bible-centered church grounded in love and truth At Dwelling House Church, we believe encountering Jesus changes how we see God, ourselves, and others—and His compassion leads us to real transformation. Questions This Sermon Answers 1. What does it mean that Jesus is compassionate by nature? 2. How does Jesus' compassion meet people in their pain and weakness? 3. How should encountering Christ's compassion shape the way we live and love others?
Laura and Jenny continue their discussion of the Bridegroom's invitation to His Bride in verses 2:10-2:14 of the Song of Songs. In this episode, they focus on the Bridegroom's words, "Let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet." Finding our authentic voice is a challenge for those who have been silenced or whose voices have been ridiculed. Jenny and Laura share their stories of how Jesus gently healed their hearts and provided safety in prayer for them to discover and learn to speak with their "sweet" voices. Paul authored Romans in the winter of AD 57-58 during a three month stay in Corinth (Acts 20:3) near the end of his third missionary journey. At the time of writing, Paul had collected an offering from Gentile churches to help the Jewish Christians in Judea. His plan was to take this offering to Jerusalem as soon as the weather was suitable, then to travel from there to Rome. Paul expressed his desire to go to Rome as early as Acts 19:21 (AD 57), and expressed it emphatically in Romans 1:8-15 during his stay in Corinth (AD 57-58), but he would not reach Rome for about three more years, as a prisoner (Acts 28:14). These three years contained numerous difficulties, including a beating and plot against his life by his own people, a two-year imprisonment in Caesarea, a shipwreck, and being bitten by a deadly snake on Malta. Paul's arrival in Rome took place in AD 60-61, and tradition holds that he was martyred there not long after, between AD 64-67. Paul's longing as he awaited a face-to-face encounter with the Roman Christians contains tremendous lessons for our own journey with Christ. Take-Home Message: Paul's longing contains lessons for my journey with Christ. Three Lessons From Paul's Longing to Go to Rome - God's will transcends my plan. (8-10) - Our faith should mutually encourage each other. (11-12) - We are under obligation to preach the gospel to everyone. (13-15)
There are three visions, three perspectives you need to have if you want to work for God: a vision of God, of the world and of what God can do through you. ‘Where there is no VISION the people perish!' (Proverbs 29.18, KJV.) Only the King James Version is so clear, so blunt. In other languages, in other versions, it's watered down. But without that VISION of who God really is, you are spiritually DEAD! The Power and the Authority that I have only come through the VISION of KNOWING who God is! David says in Psalm 63.1, ‘O God, You are my God, early will I SEEK You, my soul THIRSTS for You, my flesh LONGS for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water!' He says, “I'm so hungry, I'm so thirsty that I will DIE!” – He was in a wilderness, no water, no food, and he's crying out, “My soul is like that! Spiritually. I HUNGER for You! Unless I FEED upon You and DRAW upon You, spiritually, I DIE!” I challenge you, unless you DRAW on God, unless you FEAST on God, unless there is a HUNGER and a THIRST in your soul, you will never, ever be satisfied! Only those who HUNGER, only those who THIRST, who SEARCH for the water and the food!
In today's episode of Made for Impact, Petia opens her heart and shares the life-changing shift that happens when we reorder our priorities — not around hustle, business, or self-development — but around God. As a former entrepreneur who once led a big team and prioritized productivity and results, everything changed when she became a follower of Christ. In this episode, she shares why putting God first is not only biblical, but deeply practical — for marriage, motherhood, business, peace, and purpose. You'll learn: • Why the order of priorities matters more than we realize • What truly happens when we put God first • The biblical principle of “first fruits” and why it applies to your time, energy, and attention • How marriage, motherhood, business, and self-worth shift when God is at the center • Simple, realistic ways to put God first — even if you feel overwhelmed, busy, or exhausted • Why giving God whatever energy is “left over” never leads to intimacy, peace, or clarity • What can change when you wake up with gratitude, scripture, and surrender • Real examples from Petia's own marriage, family life, and pregnancy This episode is for the woman who: • Loves God, but feels pulled in 100 directions • Wants to deepen her faith in real, practical daily ways • Desires peace instead of pressure • Longs for her marriage, motherhood, and calling to be rooted in God — not hustle You'll leave with clarity, conviction, encouragement, and simple steps to start tomorrow morning with God at the center. TOP THEMES IN THIS EPISODE: • God first, above all things • First fruits • Priorities in marriage and family • Living from love instead of depletion • Presence over perfection • Intimacy with God over routine • Order before overflow CONNECT WITH PETIA: Instagram: @petiakolibova Bible Study Community: Deeply Devoted Join here: https://bit.ly/DeeplyDevotedBIBLEstudy Join the weekly Bible study, connect with women of faith, and go deeper in God's Word with support, accountability, and love. Send us a textStart in city gravel, end on a knife-edge ridge. That's the arc of Kyle Richardson's 1,300-mile Northeast Summits Tour—fifteen days, 84,000 feet, and six peaks stitched together by a bivy, a bike, and a refusal to overplan. We talk about why he treats endurance like an art form, how loosening timelines kept motivation high, and what it means to curate routes that flow from Catskill roots to Adirondack slabs, across the Whites, and onto Katahdin's cathedral spine. We get tactical without killing the magic. Kyle breaks down mapping with Gaia GPS, weaving the Empire State Trail, Eastern Divide, and local connectors, plus the on-the-fly decisions that save you from interstates and dead ends. He shares stealth bivvy habits, smart resupply strategy in the Maine woods, and the gear that actually works: hydrophobic, big-lug trail shoes that drain fast in boggy terrain and a tidy kit that looks presentable from diner to trailhead. We dig into recovery while moving daily, the mental cadence of silence vs. sound, and why his east coast takeaway is simple: technical, steep, and slept-on can be world-class.There's more beyond the Northeast. Kyle unpacks his Boulder–Steamboat ride for Moots' 40th anniversary—crossing divides, tagging Longs Peak, and dropping Rollins Pass—plus the South Platte Twirl, a two-night Colorado loop that blends singletrack, OHV roads, gravel, and quiet pavement. We revisit his pre-tour dawn linkup on Longs with Kilian Jornet and the lessons in communication, safety, and community that came with it. If you're hungry for routes that balance beauty, efficiency, and honest difficulty, this one's a map you can trust. If this conversation sparked ideas for your next ride or run, tap follow, leave a quick review, and share it with a friend who needs a nudge to plan less and move more.Follow Kyle on IG - @kylerichardsonFollow James on IG - @jameslaurielloFollow the Steep Stuff Podcast on IG - @steepstuff_podUse code steepstuffpod for 25% off your cart at UltimateDirection.com!

The discussion dove deep into recent mergers and acquisitions, particularly the STRIVE/Semler Scientific deal, and what it signals for the evolving digital asset treasury sector. Panelists explored liquidity, market structure, investor impacts, company overhead, and strategies to protect and inform retail investors amid volatility and rapid innovation.
If you bring someone to church who's never been, they'll tell you—the weirdest part is worship. You may be used to it by now, but where else do we huddle in the dark, close our eyes, and sing love songs to someone who's invisible? So, why do churches do it? What do we think it's doing? Can't you get the same effect listening to worship music alone in your car? Why have humans been gathering and singing since the dawn of time? Why does Scripture prescribe it? Can exploring God's intentions change how we approach it and fulfilling we find it?If you're new with us, let us know how we can be praying for you, we invite you to fill out an online Connect Card by visiting https://southhillschurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/91550—If you are looking for what is next for you, we invite you to fill out an online “Next Steps” card by visiting https://southhillschurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/672517To give with us select the Give tab on the Church Center App or visit https://southhills.org/giving/ and select the Corona Fund or Corona BOW Fund—Visit our Linktree to find out more about everything mentioned in today's message or follow along with the message slides:https://linktr.ee/SouthHillsCorona —To RSVP for On-Campus Events select the Events tab on the Church Center App or visit https://southhills.org/corona/
