In Psalm 71:14-24 we come to the second half of this “Life Full of Prayer and Praise.” Last week we looked at the first 14 and a half verses under the heading “Lessons in a Life of Prayer.” Today we pick up where we left off and will look at “Reasons for a Life of Praise.” My prayer is that these same reasons would take root in us, shaping our own worship and deepening our joy in the Lord.
Episode: 2025.11.25The Living Full Out show with Nancy Solari encourages you to recognize chapters in your life. Perhaps you chose the wrong job. Maybe you stayed in a relationship longer than you should have. Join Nancy as she discusses how to reflect on the lessons learned from those periods. Our first caller Terri wonders how to navigate issues with her sisters. Nancy advises her to invite them to family therapy. She also recommends Terri to appreciate her own gracious personality instead of wishing they shared it. Tune in to learn how to learn how to stay grounded even when family members make it difficult. Our inspirational guest Michelle Hausbeck had to recognize many chapters in her life. She started binge drinking at age 13, and it eventually led her to also having a gambling addiction once she became 21. A few years later, her significant other drowned, which drove her to a lifelong journey of grief. She turned to alcohol once again until her now husband made an ultimatum. Since then, she has closed that chapter and still remains sober to this day. Tune in to the Living Full Out show to hear how Michelle was able to overcome the feeling of disappointing others. Perhaps you want to put trauma from your past behind you once and for all. Try writing down the painful moments that come to mind, and throw away the paper after a deep reflection. Recognizing and overcoming adverse chapters in your life allows you to be strong and live full out.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/living-full-out-show--1474350/support.
While there are big news items, how about we discuss some that aren't headlines anymore, like things in the Big Beautiful Bill, and how it could affect you. Todd Sivia joins, and Jim Carafano lays out a narrow path for Israel to victory, and they're walking it slowly.
Psalm 71 is the song of a seasoned saint who has known well the steadfast love and abundant mercy of God through life. From youth, he was known the ways of the Lord; and over time that knowledge grew into a deep, personal relationship. Even through trials remain, he has learned the joys of A Life Full of Prayer and Praise.

“One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”- Mark 10:13-15 NLT

What if businesses existed solely to give back? That's the revolutionary idea behind the 100% for Purpose business model—one pioneered by Paul Newman over 40 years ago and now embraced by companies like Patagonia and Bloomberg. In this episode, we're joined by Alex Amouyel, CEO of Newman's Own Foundation, to discuss how philanthropy and business can intersect in a way that truly serves communities. We dive deep into how Paul Newman reversed traditional governance by giving his for-profit company to a nonprofit—a move that wasn't even legal at the time! Alex shares insights on why more companies are adopting this model, the challenges they face, and how philanthropy itself is evolving to become more inclusive and community-driven.

I could not be more excited to continue our big week of programming with the fantastic Molly Fletcher, who is a podcaster, entrepreneur, speaker, and former sports agent, described as “the female Jerry Maguire” by CNN and ESPN. She is also the founder of The Molly Fletcher Company and, when she was working as a sports agent, she represented athletes, coaches, and broadcasters ranging from Tom Izzo to Doc Rivers, Erin Andrews, Billy Donovan, Joe Theismann, and more. She is a former athlete herself, having played varsity tennis at Michigan State. Molly was one of the first female sports agents, and during her almost two-decade career, she negotiated over $500 million in contracts and represented over 300 of sports' biggest names, including the aforementioned. These days, she's one of the most booked female speakers globally, and her TED Talk “Secrets of a Champion Mindset” has more than 1 million views. Her work has been featured everywhere from InStyle to Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Fast Company, CNN, and ESPN, and her latest book, Dynamic Drive, is a No. 1 USA Today national bestseller. Speaking of, today we're chatting with Molly about her book Dynamic Drive: The Purpose-Fueled Formula for Sustainable Success, which came out last September 3; she's also written a number of other books, including 2011's The Business of Being the Best: Inside the World of Go-Getters and Game Changers, 2013's The 5 Best Tools to Find Your Dream Career, 2014's A Winner's Guide to Negotiating: How Conversation Gets Deals Done, 2017's Fearless at Work, and 2020's The Energy Clock: 3 Simple Steps to Create a Life Full of Energy — and Live Your Best Every Day. Molly also hosts one of my favorite podcasts, Game Changers, which I can't get enough of. Dynamic Drive is Molly's latest work, and today on the show we talk about what dynamic drive is and how its heartbeat is purpose; she shares seven keys to unlock our dynamic drive, and she talks to us about how we are in a complacency epidemic and how to step out of our comfort zone and into our stretch zones. We also talk about, as the subtitle alludes to, sustainable success — not a quick fix, momentary, flash in the pan success, but success that lasts and lasts. Success to Molly is about so much more than achieving a goal or checking a box — it's about who we become as people in the process. I enjoyed learning from her so much. "Be sure that wherever our lot is cast we may and must aim at the perfect life." Written over 400 years ago, Introduction to the Devout Life is still one of the most popular books for those pursuing holiness. St. Francis de Sales explains how to turn that desire for sanctity into resolutions that yield grace-filled results. Themes include: Pursuing a devout life whole-heartedly Incorporating prayer and sacraments into a busy schedule Growing in virtue Battling wisely against temptation Making spiritual progress through daily, monthly, and yearly exercises Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey or are more advanced in the spiritual life, you'll be able to apply this timeless wisdom immediately. Let St. Francis de Sales illumine the path to holiness and strengthen your desire to walk that road with the Lord. St. Francis de Sales (1567–1622) was the Bishop of Geneva and a renowned spiritual director. Preaching during the Counter-Reformation, he is estimated to have converted 70,000 Calvinists in his lifetime. He was a fervent proponent of the universal call to holiness and spent much of his time guiding lay people on the road to sanctity. Declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius IX in 1877, St. Francis is still helping to form saints through his many writings, of which Introduction to the Devout Life is the most famous. —description from the publisher Introduction to the Devout Life full text: https://watch.formed.org/introduction-to-the-devout-life-by-st-francis-de-sales SUBSCRIBE to Catholic Culture Audiobooks https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/catholic-culture-audiobooks/id1482214268 SIGN UP for Catholic Culture's newsletter http://www.catholicculture.org/newsletter DONATE at http://www.catholicculture.org/donate/audio Theme music: "2 Part Invention", composed by Mark Christopher Brandt, performed by Thomas Mirus. ©️2019 Heart of the Lion Publishing Co./BMI. We have found ourselves time warping to the end of the year again as we approach Christmas week. Where does it go and how have you spent your time over the past year? Do you feel accomplished and satisfied with how you have utilized your precious days? Would you consider your life full of life, wonderful people, fantastic memories to reminisce on later? How do you receive your gifts at Christmastime and it is really even about the objects wrapped up in pretty paper and topped off with curly bows? There are people in the world who all too often allow their current position to define who they once were and limit who they are capable of becoming. Some people are conditioned to remain the victim just because they had traumatic events in the past they haven't yet dealt with and realized they can overcome it. Sometimes we choose the easier emotion to release on to others: anger. Anger lets us excuse our pain from being processed and take the blame out on others rather than dealing with it inside ourselves. But how many people do we hurt when we start lashing out our pain onto others that could otherwise be spared the bad vibes? You have to take accountability for your own feelings, thoughts, actions. NOBODY IS PERFECT! It is real to be flawed, it is unnecessary to make your problems somebody else's just because you don't know how to handle your flaws yet. You have to be the one to become aware of yourself and your impact on other people's lives, especially when you have children who look to you for guidance. You were dealt a hand in life--you can choose to make a difference with it, or just hold on to the same shitty cards for the whole game. You have to see your vision to become your reality.

Talking points: mindset, purpose, military, masculinity A sincere honor to chat with J.R., and I'm blown away by his perspective and honesty on the hardship he's faced—and overcome. We cover a lot of ground: the importance of male friendship, the struggles veterans can go through, the importance of vulnerability AND accountability. Throughout it all, J.R.'s outlook shines through. Listen in, team. (00:00:00) - JR's defining moment (00:11:45) - What happened to JR during his deployment (00:23:58) - How men and veterans get stripped of purpose and identity, what contributes to that, and how we can do better (00:38:04) - What JR would say to men who see the state of things and retreat into isolation, and the importance of building emotional for yourself (00:55:50) - What JR would teach the next generation of men J.R. Martinez's life story is one of resilience and transformation. A Louisiana-born Army veteran and Iraq War survivor, Martinez faced tragedy early in his military service when a roadside bomb explosion left him with severe burns covering over a third of his body. His recovery included 34 months of treatment and 33 surgeries, a challenging journey that revealed his strength and inspired a new purpose. Martinez began sharing his story, quickly becoming a sought-after speaker, captivating audiences at military bases and for major organizations like Delta and Wells Fargo. His personal mantra, “Adapt & Overcome,” resonated deeply, embodying his commitment to resilience and gratitude. He's also become an advocate for organizations like the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors and Glasswing International, earning awards like the Ivy Award and the National Red Cross Spirit Award. In 2008, Martinez ventured into acting with a role on All My Children, which opened doors in entertainment. He won the 2011 season of Dancing with the Stars, capturing audiences nationwide. His memoir, Full of Heart, became a New York Times bestseller, and he later pursued higher education, a milestone for his family. Today, Martinez continues to inspire through speaking engagements, acting, and advocacy, sharing his journey of strength and hope with audiences worldwide while balancing family life with his wife, Diana, and their children. Worship Director Justin Jackson continues a series on the Sermon on the Mount. Have you ever been caught doing something wrong? We want to be shown mercy, but, at the same time, we often crave justice for others... to the point that it can become vengeance! But Jesus flips the script by declaring: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." (Matthew 5:7) Jesus challenges us not just to show mercy but to be merciful. It's a call to forgive, to act with compassion, and to reflect the mercy God showed us through the cross. This kind of mercy can break cycles of bitterness and reveal a better way to live—one that brings Heaven to earth. What might it look like in your life to show mercy to someone who doesn't deserve it?
