As a white cisgender person, I have a hard time writing outside of my lane mainly because I’m worried it isn’t my place. Is there any advice he can give about writing diversely, while also being respectful of the fact that you are not part of those marginalized groups? Who is more helpful as an assistant: Langston or Auggie? Positive voices can be so hard to find in the confusing, tortuous, and anxiety-riddled labyrinth that is publishing. How do you stay human in an industry that can feel at times so dehumanizing with goal posts always moving and the only certainty is uncertainty? I would love to know a little about anthology editing: How do you go about finding the authors to write the stories on the theme; where does agent representation come into it; and how you find an editor to publish the work? Does he have any tips for writers balancing full-time jobs? Please ask him how his corgi is doing for me because I am very invested thanks.

There's the geek's approach to running form, which dissects each and every element of form using words no one understands, and then there's the non-geek's approach to running form. This is a guide for non-geeks, and we hope you enjoy.
This week we have two incredibly fabulous guests with us on the show. Father Ben got to head to NYC to the offices of Trinity Wall Street to talk with Winnie Varghese of St. Mark's in the Bowery and Huffington Post fame, who now serves at Trinity. We discuss her childhood faith, origins from Kerala, India, a post-Trump America, ministry in NYC, Hamilton the Musical, and so much more. Also joining us this week is Jordan Haynie Ware, co-host of the Two Feminists Annotate the Bible podcast. Jordan discusses her upcoming book "The Ultimate Quest: a Geek's Guide to the Episcopal Church," her own geeky history, the differences between Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, and so much more. Cara and I discuss the book the Knock-off, if we feel old (even though one of us, is a true Millennial), and how to have relationships with women and NOT lose our minds. Join us for next month's book, "The Geek's Guide to Unrequited Love"
For the show's big, blooming second anniversary, we're getting super-seductive with Harris O'Malley's most book-like object yet, New Game+: The Geek's Guide to Love, Sex, & Dating, with special guest Rachel Millman! Once again we confront a self-help book that falls on the wrong side of the Ice-T Twitter Account Quality Line (ICTTAQL, for short). Seriously: save a couple bucks and just follow Ice: he's got 'way better insights than any guy calling himself "Doctor" "Nerdlove". In this episode, we — and you — have to deal with advice like "spray vodka on your couch to kill the smells" and "send texts like this to ratchet up the sexual tension: 'Hold on, you just gave me an interesting mental image... Okay, back now.'" That will definitely help your couch and suggest to someone that you're not a fifteen-year-old virgin. This is an episode that is guaranteed to thrill and delight in equal measure, or anyway to teach you what the saddest of our nation's dweebs are trying to do to get laid. Enjoy! As young children, chasing friends on the playground, screaming through sprinklers, and rushing down the first base line in tee-ball, we were runners. Runners much more concerned with having fun than running form. At the time form didn't matter. Now that we're adults running harder and longer, small form adjustments can prevent injuries, make us faster, and burn less energy. The problem is, adjusting your form can be difficult. And confusing. Cadence, arm swing, foot-strike -- We've all heard the terms, but what do they really mean? In today's episode, NMA Radio co-host Doug and I break down proper running form in a way that's approachable to all runners. Even non-running-geeks like ourselves.
We talk to Melody Kramer, a public media oracle and digital brainiac who's taking her open-source ethos to the federal government. Beyonce singing her civil rights at the Grammys inspired us to get to know the political performers like Nina Simone who came before her. Plus dating tips for geeks by geeks. And your nerd confessions.
