Hi there, It's LOU here with another English episode for my friend Sam. Do you know how they always tell you in business that you should have ONE PERSON in mind that you talk & write to? Well Sam is my person. And even though this episode is because of Sam and for Sam it's not just a one woman show. It is for everyone who, like Sam, no longer wants to blend in. Who pro-actively not want to be like everyone else and that being a GOOD THING. For everyone who wants their kids to see that if people don't want what you offer, that you can find people that do. For everyone that no longer wants to try and be successful and fit in with everyone else. SAM is the Society of Astonishing Misfits. The Coolness of the uncool. We have our OWN way to succeed. And also in this episode the 5 phases of the Recalibration process. Including the Shi(f)t Storm. It is part of manifestation and it will sweep you all clean to live on your own terms. Love LOU

Play it cool and play this episode. In episode 175 of Overthink, Ellie and David talk about what it means to be cool. From swag gap relationships to Mark Zuckerberg and the manosphere's failed attempts at being cool, your hosts examine coolness's ties to youth and subversion and its opposition to displays of wealth. They trace how coolness emerged from Black American culture in the 1930s, before being associated with Beat Poets and punk musicians. They consider precursors to cool, like the Italian term sprezzatura, and question the ontology and the morality of coolness. Is coolness an attitude or a state? Is it inherently narcissistic? Can you ever successfully “try” to be cool? In the Substack bonus segment, Ellie and David discuss coolness through an ethical perspective.Works Discussed:Joel Dinerstein, “Jazz Cool”Ted Gioia, The History of Jazzbell hooks, We Real Cool: Black Men and MasculinityDick Pountain and David Robins, Cool Rules: Anatomy of an AttitudeEnjoy our work? There are certain questions humanity may never answer. Are aliens real? What happens after death? And most importantly… are any of us actually cool? This episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a seemingly harmless discussion about “coolness” and immediately devolves into absolute nonsense in the best possible way. The gang debates whether being cool is confidence, mystery, talent, or just owning sunglasses indoors without looking ridiculous. Somehow Samuel L. Jackson ends up crowned America's coolest celebrity while Ryan Reynolds takes multiple unnecessary strays for allegedly becoming the human version of expensive scented soap.Things only get weirder from there. The crew dives headfirst into one of the most unexpectedly nostalgic conversations ever: iconic 80s and 90s album covers. We're talking Appetite for Destruction, Dookie, Korn, Pearl Jam, Thriller, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, Poison, Nirvana, and a bunch of records that permanently altered teenage bedrooms across America. If you ever spent hours staring at CD booklet artwork pretending you understood symbolism, this episode is basically therapy. There's also:Weird Al getting a Broadway musicalAqua breaking up after nearly 30 yearsDr. Hook appreciation from out of nowhereMusic festival streaming announcementsCountry chart dominationCelebrity deaths and tributesA discussion about hiding weapons around your house that somehow became weirdly wholesomeLove on the Spectrum entering the country music worldAnd the triumphant return of Match Up With The MoronsThis comedy podcast somehow manages to mix pop culture commentary, music nostalgia, celebrity gossip, random chaos, and complete derailments into one giant beautifully broken radio sandwich. It's the kind of comedy podcast that reminds you why morning radio still matters: because nowhere else will you hear heartfelt appreciation for Pearl Jam immediately followed by someone talking about bolt cutters and baby deer.Whether you're here for the funny stories, the music talk, the celebrity nonsense, or just because your coworkers are unbearable and you need a break, this comedy podcast delivers the exact level of chaos your brain probably deserves. The Rizzuto Show continues proving daily that professionalism is technically optional.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's spring and the farmers are out in force prepping their fields and planting seeds with the hope and anticipation of a bountiful harvest. There's a new trend among our kids that's all about farming, but not in the way our professional farmers are now farming here. No, our kids are involved in what's called “aura farming.” In the teenage world, someone who has aura is someone who has the same kind of glowing presence as the top social media influencers, beloved celebrities, and people who ooze coolness. Aura Farming is the term used to describe the act of doing things online to boost your cool factor in the eyes of the world that's watching you on social media. In essence, you're farming and fishing for the social capital of likes, positive comments, and a growing number of followers. Parents, this is a troubling trend as our kids are going to look for love and attention in all the wrong places. Lead them to find their identity, purpose, and value in Jesus Christ and not in the eyes of others.

In this episode of the AI Agent & Copilot Podcast, Giuseppe Ianni, host of the show, is joined by Diego Araujo, Founder and Chief AI Architect at Fusion Flow Software. Their conversation explores how enterprises are adopting AI agents and copilots within ERP environments, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Key Takeaways Start with a “Winning” Use Case: Successful AI adoption begins with identifying a high-impact, low-effort opportunity that delivers immediate value. Araujo stresses the importance of choosing use cases that are repeatable and measurable. He explains that organizations must deliberately identify early wins to build momentum and credibility across teams. User Adoption Determines Success: Technology alone does not guarantee successful AI implementation — user adoption does. Araujo emphasizes that fear and skepticism often prevent employees from embracing AI tools. He recommends involving subject matter experts and users early in the process so they feel ownership over the solution. Governance and Safety Must Be Built In: Enterprise AI systems require robust governance frameworks to ensure compliance, security, and control. Araujo highlights the importance of planning governance early in the process, particularly when deploying agents inside ERP environments that manage critical business processes. He cautions organizations to build mechanisms that prevent agents from causing unintended outcomes. “You don't want an agent going rogue,” he explains. Measure Value with Clear Metrics: AI initiatives must demonstrate measurable impact rather than relying on hype or novelty. Araujo stresses that organizations should identify metrics that directly tie AI capabilities to business outcomes. “Coolness is not a factor,” he explains. Instead, companies must define operational indicators such as efficiency gains or cycle time reductions. AI Agents Enable a New Workforce Model: Araujo describes a major shift in how employees interact with technology as AI agents become widely adopted. He suggests that individuals will increasingly act as managers of multiple digital agents that execute tasks autonomously. This mindset shift opens new productivity opportunities for organizations. What does it mean to be 'cool'? While the word can feel slippery and subjective, a new study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology suggests that people around the world largely agree on what makes someone cool - and the answer transcends culture, language and borders. According to the research, people deemed cool consistently share six personality traits, whether they live in the US, China, South Africa or Turkey. The findings suggest that modern media and global culture may have standardized the meaning of cool far more than we realize. The study draws on psychology experiments conducted between 2018 and 2022 with nearly 6,000 adults across 13 countries. Participants were asked to think of someone they considered 'cool,' 'not cool,' 'good,' or 'not good,' and then rate that person's personality traits and values. By comparing these ratings, researchers were able to identify what separates cool people from those who are merely good, or uncool. Despite wide cultural differences, the results were strikingly consistent. Cool people were seen as more extroverted, hedonistic, powerful, adventurous, open and autonomous. In other words, they were perceived as outgoing, pleasure-seeking, confident, independent and willing to take risks. The idea of cool emerged from small, rebellious subcultures including Black jazz musicians in the 1940s and the beatnik movement of the 1950s before spreading more widely. As creativity, innovation and change have become more valued in modern society, coolness has taken on a larger role. The researchers also found an important distinction between being cool and being good. While some traits overlap, good people were viewed very differently. They were more likely to be described as conforming, traditional, secure, warm, agreeable, conscientious and calm, qualities associated with stability, morality and cooperation. In other words, coolness isn't necessarily about being kind or ethical. It's about standing out, questioning conventions and projecting independence and influence. Researchers say the findings could help explain how social hierarchies form and how cultural norms change. Cool people, they argue, often occupy influential positions because they are seen as innovators and persuaders people capable of shifting attitudes and behaviours.
SHOW NOTES: TRANSCRIPT: In honor of my 20th year of podcasting on The Book of Life, I'm bringing you another episode from the archives: Summer Coolness, released in June 2007. The episode featured a now-defunct website called ReaderGirlz, and the website Nextbook that morphed into Tablet Magazine in 2009. There were also many mentions of MySpace. I interviewed Melissa Schorr, author of Goy Crazy, who, according to her website, seems to have mostly moved on from kidlit to journalism. I must say, her most recent book from 2017, Shame Nation: Choosing Kindness and Compassion in an Age of Cruelty and Trolling, looks extremely on point. And the episode featured the band Sababa, which happily is still in existence, and in fact, they've recently released their fourth album called When We Rise.

Let's tackle a common cultural myth: the idea that being “cool” is the way to succeed. The truth is that chasing coolness is rarely fruitful. Instead, it often leads to dysfunctional relationships and a self-focused, enslaving way of life that demands that others notice, admire, and desire to be you. Perhaps it would serve all of us if we redefine what it means to be “cool” from a biblical perspective.

From the collapse of civic duty to the rise of meme-driven politics, they dig into the cultural forces shaping America—and the opportunity to reclaim a sense of mission. They also discuss why Silicon Valley is more idea than place, what journalists and investors have in common, and why being laughed at might be the clearest sign you're on the right path.Timecodes: 0:00 - Intro4:48 The Decline in Public Service7:47 Making Government Cool Again10:07 Silicon Valley's Aversion to National Security13:15 Positive Sum vs Zero Sum Cultures16:27 China, Authoritarianism, and Doing Hard Things19:27 What Makes America Special?23:03 Silicon Valley and the “Real Economy”26:28 Investing in Mature Markets29:08 Vanna White and The Wheel of Fortune30:27 Journalism and Loneliness32:52 - Time and Suffering38:10 - Seriousness and Purpose41:11 - Is Culture Downstream of Technology?42:48 - Propaganda and Coolness as a Strategic Asset44:40 - Florida, Texas, and Regulatory Arbitrage47:51 - DC, Silicon Valley, and Florida50:20 - What Should More People Be Thinking AboutResources: Find Katherine on X: https://x.com/KTmBoyleFind Alex on X: https://x.com/adlabossiereListen to more from The LaBossiere Podcast:YouTube: https://bit.ly/3QDLQFtApple: https://apple.co/478Be6MSpotify: https://spoti.fi/3sfiFiEStay Updated: Let us know what you think: https://ratethispodcast.com/a16zFind a16z on X: https://twitter.com/a16zFind a16z on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/a16zSubscribe on your favorite podcast app: https://a16z.simplecast.com/Follow our host: https://x.com/eriktorenbergPlease note that the content here is for informational purposes only; should NOT be taken as legal, business, tax, or investment advice or be used to evaluate any investment or security; and is not directed at any investors or potential investors in any a16z fund. a16z and its affiliates may maintain investments in the companies discussed. Ears here! Do yourself a favour and take a break from doomscrolling Trump...Berlin fashion week is about to roll around again, and we're inspired. Not least because last year Fashion Council Germany became the first to officially adopted Copenhagen Fashion Week's sustainability framework, complete with 20 minimum standards for participating designers. If you don't live there, what's your impression of the city's vibe? Dark, grey and dystopian?! In winter, there's a bit of that for sure, but it also crackles with electric creativity. Largely devoid of corporate nonsense, Berlin's fashion culture fosters indie talent, DIY and sustainability innovation, all mixed up with the underground arts scene.Think fashion as dialogue, self-expression and provocation. Community over ego. And embedding political movements - including sustainability and DIEB - into the shows.Plus, of course, the legendary club scene is never far away.“It is alternative,” says this week's guest, much-loved fashion photographer, cult magazine maker and adopted Berliner Axl Jansen. “They don't nip on their champagne and talk about art; they live it. Life is dangerous, you know? As an artist you have to define always new ideas, you have to find new paths of thinking, so it's always in a kind danger, art itself.”While this conversation isn't really about politics - it's about creativity, fashion, music - Clare's question to you is: Can we disassociate these things? We don't think so.Art reflects the times we live in - and these, once again, are turbulent ones.To discover our Sustainable Fashion 101 online course, click here. We're giving listeners who enrol in January 50% off.Apply the discount code - newyear - at checkout to redeem your gift.
