A doctor died — and claims he was taken on a tour of the afterlife and later channelled his account to a medium named Chico Xavier. That account became a film. In our July's show, former guest Stephen Sakellarios returns to The Paranormal Peep Show to look at how the spirit world might actually be, through the lens of films and books claimed to be channelled directly from the other side. Under the topic of discussion is a film made in 2010 called The Astral City, or Nosso Lar, a Brazilian film, based upon channelled writings of a medium Chico Xavier, who believed he was receiving dictation from  doctor André Luiz, who had died. Nosso Lar, the original title was a popular film, a drama and spiritist genre. The script was based on the book of the same name: Nosso Lar, released in 1944, psychographed or channelled  by the medium Chico Xavier, under the influence of the spirit André Luiz. His spirit at first went to what some regard as the lower astral realms, similar to conceived ideas of a hell. Through mental requests or perhaps prayer, the doctor is taken to the higher vibration state of the Astral City, where he encounters his own mother and former patients of his. He also learns how to do healing of newly arrived souls, and does rescue work. Stephen, Neil and Ben discuss the various aspects of this film which can be viewed on the Gaia channel, but some copies exist on Youtube as well. The film is in Brazilian but can be viewed with subtitles. Also discussed are other afterlife films and books, such as What Dreams May Come, Ghost, and books by Anthony Borgia. From Host Barbara'Matt Vaughn is a very cool and interesting person. Author of My Cosmic Trigger: High Strangeness in Theory and Practice, a first volume in a planned series of books, Matt is also a therapist, a seeker and an experiencer. Having Andy Mercer, another professional therapist, along for the ride means we got deeply into the psychological aspects of the paranormal, and it was fun. We also talked about gnomes. Gnomes seem to a theme coming up recently. There's an audio note at the opening of the episode explaining what high-strangeness mess occurred in the recording process. Because of course, technical difficulties arose. In the last 15 minutes of the episode, Matt's audio disappeared. We did all the things correctly, and yet, there was something interfering with his part of the recording. So, I ended up editing it so the topic we had been talking about got finished, and then just cut the last 10 minutes or so off. That's why the ending is weird. Yes, it could be recorded a second time, but I didn't want to lose the discussion we had. Because it was a really fascinating one and I knew we'd never capture all of it again. The Warminster Thing 60th Anniversary conference with guests Stuart Dyke & Sharon Mason ; The Paranormal Peep Show. Neil, Ben and Andy interview Stuart Dyke and Sharon Mason who organised the 60th anniversary Warminster Thing conference in Warminster, Wiltshire on 24th August 2025.Warminster was a town that became famous in the mid 1960s due to strange events that began to plague the town, involving UFOs, loud thunderous crashes on rooftops, lights in the sky and humanoid encounters. These occurrences were set down in newspaper reports by columnist Arthur Shuttlewood, who later compiled them into a book. It's thanks to him we have a comprehensive account of most of the bizarre happenings around that time. Stuart has been a researcher with the Crop Circle phenomenon for many years, and helped co-found The Crop Circle Connector website.  He has lectured at many events over the years, hosted his own conferences, and presented and produced many videos on the phenomenon.Sharon Mason, a former TV production and media operative, now runs her own Quantum Healing services, involving deep hypnotic trance work, calling upon the client's higher self to come forward and speak directly to her in a session. Sharon used this process to make contact with Stuart's higher self to try and explain who and what was behind the phenomena of The Warminster Thing, which started in the Christmas period of 1965.
