God is turning things around all over the world!
In this week's episode Adam and Tanner talk about the anniversary of the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, what he put on the line, and what we can be sacrificing. They take it further with a discussion on how to takes risk and stand up for our beliefs proactively instead of reactively and why ultimately this is God's approach.
In this episode, Lance and I talk about the fact that, as Hebrews 12:2 says, Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. That is, He is writing our story. Sometimes we get off track, sometimes the chapter doesn't look so good, and sometimes it appears that we're in the middle of nothing but chaos... ... but, all things work out in the end. ... and it all comes together.
When we say “reign of God” in church, it sounds like good news. But to Caesar, to the powerful, to the people who always come out smelling like roses, to the people who benefit from a nice, orderly system that they alone control and benefit from—it doesn't sound like good news at all. It sounds like the end of everything that has consistently given them advantages that most people will never enjoy. Subscribe to us on iTunes! I don't think God is surprised by anything going on with you right now. I can't believe he ever says, “How did that happen?” God cares. And he's not surprised.

Honesty before each other and God in the season of Lent
We are in the beginning of the greatest move of God this world has ever seen! We want to encourage you that God is not finished with America yet and that he is going to use you!
Do you feel like God is distant or stopped caring? It's easy to fall into that trap since we are humans with finite minds that can't see all or know all. But today I want to share a short personal testimony of mine that I hope will strengthen your faith walk and the belief that God is always listening and working, though we sometimes can't see it right away. Tune in with me and hear what God has to say and how he worked in my life recently to show me that he is ever-present and doing a good work!
This week I wanted to talk about seeking the will of God, and not focusing on the "perfect." A lot of times we focus on being perfect for God, when He just asked us to trust Him. He simply asked us to do it, and we're afraid because we're not good enough. Jesus is all the perfection we need. So trust Him, and walk out in faith today. That's closeness in a relationship you will not find anywhere else and it's with the God of the universe! God has said that a man and a woman in marriage become one flesh and this relationship is even greater. In this episode, Pastor John and Pastor Tim shoot the breeze about Advent, reflect on the not very nice words of the Magnificat, and answer two bonus questions about waiting for answered prayers and discovering the will of God for our lives. Pastor John even succumbs to telling a dad joke. Enjoy.
Fr. Patrick Cahill explains how God is the fulfillment of all of our desires. However, if we keep searching for happiness outside of God and as a consequence do not find happiness in God, then Heaven is not going to be enough for us either. Let us set our hearts on God and let eternity in Heaven be our ultimate goal.
The Valley of the Shadow of Death is real. In this sermon on Psalm 44 we see God's people faithfully walking with God and suffering because of it. This Psalm is their prayer in the midst of great affliction that the Lord has brought upon them. How are we supposed to think about suffering for Jesus? How are we to pray when we are suffering? How is it ok for God to afflict His faithful people? We dive into all these questions and much more in this sermon.
Tanner talks about how an honest heart does more good than a fake one. God isn't expecting us to be perfect and to be good all the time, but invited honesty and transparency more than anything!

Do you feel like you pray and you fast, but God doesn’t answer? The reason can be that you are praying and fasting wrong.
Feel like God isn't answering your prayers? Wondering why you're going through so much pain and suffering? Here's my advice...
Tanner talks about how we don't have to “prove our allegiance” to God, and that he is fully aware of our hearts. We don't have to assume God is waiting for us to make the next move, because he's making every move!

No matter how dark things make seem, God’s love and light are still coming for you today.

Episode 37: For many of us the idea that God is all-powerful and all-knowing is assumed to be the very definition of divinity. But here we bring together threads from recent episodes to suggest that God might not be all powerful (in the way we typically understand power) and may not know the future. But what does this mean? It can be an unsettling idea, but perhaps it also allows us to more honestly see the challenges we face and to explore what real participation with the divine might look like.
Reality is tricky. I could really be dead and not know it. You could really be alive and not know it. You're surrounded by people who don't exist.
