ISN'T GOD VERY MEAN---If there is a place called hell, how could a God of love send people there-- ---Remark -1- I believe the Bible is the Word of God-----Remark -2- I believe the Bible talks about hell--But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca-' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool-' shall be in danger of hell fire. -MATTHEW 5-22----If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you- for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. -MATTHEW 5-29----So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.- -MATTHEW 13-49-50-----If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.- -MATTHEW 18-8-9-----Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'- -MATTHEW 25-41----What Jesus believed and taught-----So what--For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, -that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.-JOHN 3-16--TRUTH -1- GOD IS LOVE AND MORE-

Today we answer a question from 5 year old, Nate, who asks: "Why is there not a picture of God, if He is the main character at St. Columba (Fr. Connolly's parish), in the pictures in the stained glass?"So we discuss how we don't know what God the Father, the first person of the Holy Trinity, looks like, but that we do see Jesus, the second person of the Holy Trinity, represented in the stained glass and other artwork. And we talk about how we see Jesus present in the Eucharist also.

Today we're fasting from the thought that says, "Why isn't God stopping this?" This thinking is rooted in the inaccurate belief that God is in control of everything. Don’t get me wrong: He started this world in control of everything, but He gave much authority to mankind at Creation, and then again as new creations in Christ. We have to stop waiting for God to stop the things He gave us the power to stop. Jesus said: Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. YOU HAVE AUTHORITY IN LIFE Remember, Jesus has given us ALL power over the enemy (Luke 10:19). The enemy, the devil, wants to blind you to your authority, so that you will accept whatever happens in life, or wait for God to do something about it. Awaken to your God-given authority as a child of God. START REIGNING AND YOU'LL STOP WHINING "Through the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, we REIGN in life." (Romans 5:17) As you awake to grace & righteousness—and your God-given authority—you’ll stop thinking and feeling like a victim. YOU'RE JUST LIKE JESUS! Yes, the disciples woke Jesus, and He stopped the storm. BUT, in 1 John 4:17, it tells us that as He is, so are we. He gave you His Word, His Name, and His authority. You can stop the forces of hell that come against you. THINK IT AND SAY IT!!! I agree with Jesus! I take authority over the storms of life, and over all the power of the enemy. Through the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, I reign in life. I have the power to choose PEACE in the midst of the storms of life. I walk in wisdom, by acting on the Word, and I rise above every situation, in the Name of Jesus! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/felicia721/message

When we are not seeing results, we need to sort out what is really going on. Approaching God from a perspective that says we’re not sure if this is true or not, is to put Him on trial, and that limits Him. Every limitation in our lives is a limitation we unknowingly place upon God.

1. Isn't God the one who decides what our desires will be since everything good comes from his grace, not from us--2. How do we reconcile human striving with God doing the work of sanctification--3. What if experiencing God's presence isn't making me prefer him over sin-
Isn't God all-loving- Doesn't God have all power and the ability to do all things- If these are true, why doesn't God save everyone---This week on the Straight Truth Podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell and Dr. Josh Philpot discuss the topic of universalism. Dr. Philpot explains that universalism is a doctrine that presupposes that God will save everyone that has ever lived. He tells us it has not been a predominant doctrine in church history nor is it orthodox. Yet it seems to keep a foothold in the church throughout church history. Today this seems possible through the mass amount of information we have at our disposal, the proliferation of blogs, podcasts, debates, and even new books written on the subject. The specific question asked this week is, why doesn't God just have mercy on everyone, why doesn't He save everyone, whether they choose to believe in Him or not---Dr. Caldwell tells us the reason people ask such questions, and why this doctrine has kept a foothold in the church, is because what God has actually done is at odds with fallen man's sense of fairness. While men would not deny that there is a need for judgment and justice, they still cannot comprehend a God who loves, who has all power and ability but does not save all men. This attacks man's sense of fairness, so doctrines and questions like this, show how it works out in our minds. The answer to this question will most likely not satisfy, but it is the answer nonetheless. God has not saved everyone because He's chosen not to save everyone. God is merciful, and mercy is mercy, but mercy is not something that is owed. It is something that God offers when, where, and how He chooses. To properly understand these
Faith is like the gateway between everything God wants to do in our lives and the physical realm. We have the responsibility of keeping that gateway open and maintained. If it closes down, we don't receive what's ours. Without faith, we have nothing.

This episode of Catholic Girl on the Radio discusses the question that I think most people have asked: Why isn't God answering my prayers? If you like the episode please don't forget to give us a good rating and share it with your friends!
Everybody's always asking for prayer and saying they'll pray for each other. What's the point? Isn't God going to do what He's going to do anyway? Doesn't He already know what's best for us? Even if we do pray—what if we're doing it wrong? People always say "you best be careful what you pray for." What can we learn from Jesus about prayer? That seems like a good question to me. God has something for you here. https://www.newchurchtexas.com/contact
Where are you, God? Why am I not seeing the results that God has promised? There is something limiting God in our life situation. When we are not seeing results, we need to sort out what is really going on. Approaching God from a perspective that says we’re not sure if this is true or not, is to put Him on trial. Most of the time when we put God on trial, we have already decided He is not true. Every limitation in our lives is a limitation we unknowingly place upon God. Ask yourself: am I able to find fault in my own life without condemnation, creating excuses, feeling inadequate, or needing someone else to blame?
The Sermon on the Mount is the most popular sermon in the history of the world. In the beginning of the sermon, the Lord Jesus pronounces divine happiness (blessings) upon His people. He promises blessings upon His people for things that seem upside-down. Blessed are those who mourn? Blessed are the meek? Blessed are the persecuted? And in today's message: Blessed are the merciful. Seems out of place for many. What if we are wounded? What if we are abused? Doesn't God care about justice? Isn't God concerned with truth? How can Jesus pronounce divine blessedness upon those who are merciful and tell us that the mercy-ing ones are the ones who receive mercy? Open your Bibles and ask God to open your hearts and minds to this glorious truth. Soli Deo Gloria! Jeff Durbin Lead Pastor/Elder Sunday, May 3, 2015

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.” ~ 1 Peter 4:12 Why do we even struggle at all? Isn't God supposed to be good and powerful? Why are we not spared all pain? How do we makes sense of suffering in our faith? This Sunday we'll actually construct a "Theology of Suffering." It won't answer all the questions, but it will give us a foundation for trusting in the God who suffered on the cross, and goes with us through the pain of our lives, and who promises all things will one day be redeemed.

John faithfully writes that a voice from heaven told him not to write what he heard. What kind of a tease is this? In this message we’ll consider what these seven thunders might be – especially my theory that they are good news for God’s people – but more that God has the right to reveal what He chooses to reveal, and we have no right to demand more. Our responsibility is to be faithful to what we do know.
