When God feels silent, it can seem like your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling and your storm will never end. In this episode of Chasing Happiness, Ryan talks openly about seasons when God goes quiet and what that silence might actually mean for your heart, your habits, and your relationship with money and stuff. He shares:Why storms are often meant to change you from the inside out, not just change your circumstances. How impatience, anxiety, and chasing promotions, toys, and credit cards can keep you stuck. The journey from keeping up with the Joneses to wanting zero debt, a strong cash cushion, and a generous life.Practical ways to walk through a “quiet” season with God: Scripture, journaling, walking, tithing, and choosing to trust His timing over your own.If you're in a storm, feel like God has gone silent, or are trying to let go of old patterns with money and identity, this conversation is for you.If this episode spoke to you, please follow the show, leave a rating or review, and share it with someone else who's in a quiet season with God. Your share might be exactly what they need today.
Nearly two months on from a sewage spill that completely destroyed their crops, Mahurangi oyster farmers are still waiting to see a full compensation package. 1200 cubic metres of sewage overflowed from a Watercare pump station in late October, contaminating thousands of oysters in the Mahurangi river and preventing the farmers from harvesting for nearly a month. Watercare agreed to give a million dollars in compensation to 10 affected farmers, who split it between them, and the organisation promised to provide a second payment before the end of the year. But as Evie Richardson reports, the farmers are still waiting and getting increasingly desperate.

When a man keeps you half chosen and half confused, the real problem isn't his hesitation but the part of you willing to wait for it! Ever been strung along by a man who gives just enough to keep you hopeful but never enough to give you certainty? One day he's all charm and chemistry, the next he's conveniently unavailable? You start analyzing his behavior like a crime scene. Does he have trauma? Is it timing? Is it me? Hilary calls BS! In this episode, Hilary dismantles the obsession with figuring him out and asks a better question: Why are you waiting for someone who won't choose you fully? Mixed signals are signals. If it only feels good when he's present but wrecks your peace when he's gone, that's not romance — that's chaos dressed as potential. And if you're tolerating crumbs, playing it cool, or bending your boundaries just to keep him around, you're accidentally auditioning for the role of “almost enough.” Hilary's message is blunt but liberating: stop chasing clarity from him and start demanding consistency for yourself. You don't need closure, you need standards. So ask yourself, are you in a relationship or just holding space for someone who hasn't decided? And if you stopped waiting on his decision, what would yours be? Episode Highlights: Why “understanding him” is just a distraction from reclaiming your own power What mixed signals in dating are actually telling you How pick-me energy sabotages real commitment Signs you're emotionally unavailable too The mindset shift that ends situationships for good Episode Breakdown: 00:00 Why Women Stay Stuck in Non-Committal Relationships 01:34 The Trap of Overanalyzing His Mixed Signals 03:18 Emotional Burnout from Chasing Clarity 04:21 How to Evaluate a Relationship Beyond Chemistry 05:24 The Hidden Cost of Self-Betrayal and Pick-Me Energy 07:31 When You're the One Afraid of Commitment 09:17 Shifting from Waiting to Self-Ownership 10:00 Final Call to Stop Settling ✨ I'm Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. More journalists have been killed in Gaza than in any other conflict in history. This week, the editor-in-chief at Reuters, Alessandra Galloni, joins Alan and Lionel to reflect on the last two years of covering the war on Gaza. She discusses the Israeli Defence Force's killing of journalists in both Gaza and Lebanon, amid ongoing calls for accountability, and reveals why the news agency stopped giving the coordinates of their reporters to the IDF.She also recalls asking the Israeli government for an investigation into the killing of a Reuters journalist at the start of the war, and asks why, two years later, they're “still waiting”.To read more on this subject from Prospect, click here. This episode is two fold: it will share tips for responding to people who don't respond well to your exciting announcements AND it will share compassion and validation for those who find it hard to hear happy news of others since they are still waiting for theirs.Have you ever shared some happy news with someone, only to have a response that is not so happy? Perhaps it's jealous or even angry that you got what they are still desiring. Maybe that's a healing in your body, a boyfriend, a new job. It can be anything really and it's actually kinda common to share good news and have people not match your level of excitement over said happy news. I pray this episode finds you in a timely manner and gives you hope for the future and compassion for yourself, friend!Recommended episodes:Why I'm Certain Based on Scripture that God Wants Everyone HealthyWhy it's Illegal for Sickness to Live in the Body of a BelieverWhy Many Healings are Progressive (even though that's not God's best for us)Connect with Nyla:IGWebsiteNyla's second podcast, On the Job with God Christian Business Podcast
