Welcome to Day 2604 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2604 – The Road to Jerusalem: Jerusalem: The End of the Road or Just the Beginning Putnam Church Message – 04/06/2025 Sermon Series: The Road to Jerusalem Message 1: Jerusalem: The End of the Road or Just the Beginning? Last week, we finalized our Old Testament Orientation series. Our focus was on What We Know: Preparing for the New Testament. We wrapped up with a complete overview of the series. This week is the first of three Easter messages about The Road to Jerusalem. Today, we will explore Jerusalem: The End of the Road or Just the Beginning? The passage we will be covering today is Luke 19:11-27. This is the Parable of the Ten Servants. Opening Prayer Let's start by reading verses 11-13: 11 The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin immediately. 12 He said, “A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return. 13 Before he left, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver,[a] saying, ‘Invest this for me while I am gone.' Introduction There is a sense of excitement when you get close to reaching your destination. Whether you are traveling by car and you see the city limits sign, or traveling by air and the airplane begins its descent, or traveling by boat and you sight land in the distance: whatever your mode of travel, it always feels good when you reach the end. No matter how long the trip is or how tired you are or worn out from the road, your adrenaline kicks in, and you experience a lift as you near your destination. That is how the disciples must have felt in today's passage. For over three years now, they have been following Jesus. For six months, they have been heading towards Jerusalem. Now, at last, they were near Jerusalem. They were in Jericho, only seventeen miles away. The end of the road was in sight. During this time, the disciples have come to understand that Jesus is the Messiah, that he is the Promised One, the Great Deliverer prophesied about in the Scriptures. He is the One who God sent to deliver his people. The crowds are swelling, more and more disciples are joining the band, and now they are heading to Jerusalem, the Holy City, with Jesus the Messiah in their midst. Talk about excitement growing as you near your destination! But this is more than just an adrenaline boost at the end of a journey. In all their excitement and enthusiasm, the disciples fully believe that the kingdom of God is about to come immediately. They believe Jesus will enter Jerusalem and take his rightful place as King. They have seen his power and his miracles. They know that he is well able to deliver them from the Romans. The people are already rallying to his side, and they expect nothing less than complete liberation from their enemies. Jesus...
Today Peter continues on his topic of false teaching and how we can be equipped to combat Satan's attacks on our lives.

In the Gospels we see the Lord Jesus casting out evil spirits, delivering people and healing people from sicknesses caused due to demonic activity. We know from Scripture that evil spirits (demons) cause certain physical problems, disturb the mind and emotions, hold people in bondage, captive to addictions and unclean habits, oppress, torment and trouble people. Jesus still delivers people from all demonic activity! He is still the Great Deliverer. He has delegated us His people with His authority to cast out demonic powers and set people free. Sermon preached on January 14, 2024, by Jon Anzardo on Psalm 40.
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
IN THIS MESSAGE WE WILL ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHO DOES GOD PORTRAY AS THE SEXUAL PREDATOR, THE MAN OR WOMAN, AND HOW DID THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION EXPLAIN THE TRAGIC DEATH OF SAMSON. MOST ALL OF US AMERICANS THAT HAVE BEEN TRAPPED IN A SIN, WISH WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE HURTFUL MISERY OF THAT SIN. WHAT BETTER WAY TO HELP AVOID THAT SIN THAN TO COME TO KNOW THE PERSON OF JESUS, THE GREAT DELIVERER, THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, THE GREAT REFUGE, AND DID HE HIMSELF PROCLAIM TO BE GOD AND ARE THE ELECT HIS WIFE, HAVING AN INTIMATE SPIRITUAL LOVE RELATION WITH HIM. IF SO, ALL OF US NATURAL MAN AMERICANS CAN ALL HAVE HOPE FOR NONE OF US AMERICANS KNOW WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE OF THE ELECT, FOR EVEN FORMER MR. MORALITY HIMSELF, ONE OF THE WORST PERSECUTORS OF THE EARLY CHURCH HAD NO IDEA THAT HE WAS ONE OF THE ELECT UNTIL AFTER HE WAS ELECTED. THUS, HAVING THIS GREAT HOPE OF ONEDAY BEING MARRIED TO CHRIST AND EXPERIENCING HIS LOVE IN BEING OUR REFUGE AND FORTRESS IN TIMES OF TROUBLE, THIS HOPE WILL BE THE GREAT HOPE THAT NOT ONLY WILL LEAD TO OUR SALVATION. BUT ALSO OUR DELIVERANCE OF FROM BEING TRAPPED IN THE WORST OF SINS BUT ALSO WILL HELP US TO AVOID BEING TRAPPED IN THE LITTLE AS WELL AS GREAT SINS. WE ALSO AS JOHN Q. PUBLIC OF AMERICA BEING THE SIMPLE PEOPLE OF AMERICA ASK OURSELVES THE QUESTION OF WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD GOD NOT ONLY REVEAL THE VICTORIES OF HIS PEOPLE, BUT ALSO THE SINS OF HIS PEOPLE, BUT FOR THE FACT THAT WE MIGHT LEARN FROM THEIR SINS. AGAIN, WHAT ABOUT THE SINS OF FORNICATION, AND ADULTERY, DOES GOD PRESENT THE WOMAN OR THE MAN AS THE SEXUAL PREDATOR. HOW DOES THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION EXPLAIN THE TRAGIC, YET VICTORIOUS DEATH OF SAMSON.

It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It's a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself. It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it's supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you. We pray our printed devotionals, Faith and Trust, help people like you experience the life changing reality that faith and trust have on your everyday life. In the book of Esther, it is written that the Feast of Purim would be recognized and observed at a specific time each year so “that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city…” (Esther 9:28). One way of recognizing and observing is to dress up on Purim! The story of Purim is about Esther, an orphan girl who marries a king and becomes queen. This sounds like a fairytale. In reality, it is God's story of deliverance for the Jewish people. There are many spiritual truths in this story. There are also opportunities to sow seeds of hope and teach the next generation about our Great Deliverer. “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”—Psalm 18:2 When Believers dress up on Purim, they are saying… “I will rejoice with gladness. Deliverance is made possible through Yeshua.” “I will seek my identity in Yeshua.” “I have the heart to know my Lord and my spiritual heritage.” “I will fight against the enemy and his anti-Semitic plans.” “I will teach and speak of God's glory to the next generation.” So then, how are these statements revealed in the lives of Believers who dress up on Purim? We will take a look at these statements, and make decrees with each in the 5 Reasons to Dress Up on Purim. But first, let's discover where the custom to dress up on Purim comes from… The Custom to Dress Up on Purim, Where Did It Come From? February 14, 2021, by Curt Landry Ministries
