Tush Push debate, Saints draft talk, NCAA March Madness and LSU women and Yankees bats on Ep. 356 by Jim Derry
In the search for help on offense, the New Orleans Saints have turned to a familiar face, as late last week they brought back wide receiver and former first-round pick Brandin Cooks. Is he worth a 2-year, $13 million contract? Jim Derry asks the viewers and listeners on the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 353) presented by Evangeline Securities and takes comments throughout the show on 'Mano E Monday.' Gabe Henderson and I also will chat about the LSU women facing Florida State on Monday evening in the PMAC as they try to get to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season. (Both teams are in the top 6 in scoring.) Lastly, we talk NCAA Men's Tourney (so far a snoozefest). and our new segment is live: 'AI vs. Gabe.'
Mike sits down with head coach of the LSU Women's basketball HC, Kim Mulkey as the Tigers as the Tigers ready for NCAA tourney play on Saturday versus San Diego State, putting her players in the right position as the team looks to win a 2nd ring in 3 seasons, and much more!
On today's show, Mike Detillier and Cullen Steele break down the latest action going on with the Mens NCAA Tournament with upsets, blowouts, and busted brackets galore as well as talking with Kim Mulkey, head coach of the LSU Women's basketball team, to detail how the Tigers are getting ready for the spotlight in the Women's tournament, as well as hearing from Rene Nadeau on the crown jewel of the Saints offseason so far and who could be the Black & Gold's best option at #9 in this upcoming draft. Later on, we connect with Saints OL, Landon Young on his return to the Saints for his 5th season, and Jimmy Patsos, former college basketball coach and monumental sports network analyst, on what the Pelicans could look like with Zion and Flagg running things. Afterwards, Steve Geller joins to help us talk to Jeff Nowak, Saints sideline reporter, WWL digital content producer, and a hardcore supporter of UConn Men's Basketball, about how his brackets are looking, the latest on Saints moves ahead of the draft, and more, before closing out the final hour hearing from SEC Network baseball analyst and former MLB & LSU Infielder, Todd Walker, on how the Tigers are prepped for a deep playoff push amidst a deep SEC pool, and a whole lot more!

LSU women's basketball team's season will end in Albany as the Tigers fall to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes 94-87 in the Elite Eight. The Tigers had a great first half, recovering after a slow start to lead Iowa 31-26 coming out of the first quarter and tied at 45 going into the half. However, a near dormant third quarter and Iowa's three-point shooting was too much to overcome in the tournament loss. Clark was unstoppable offensively Monday night, scoring 41 points and nine three-point shots along with seven rebounds, twelve assists, two steals and a block. LSU PG Hailey Van Lith struggled to defend her all night long and Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey didn't make adjustments until Iowa already had the game put away. LSU attempted a season-high 24 three-point shots Monday night but only made eight of them. In contrast, Iowa made thirteen of their 31 attempts from beyond the arc. Although LSU fought hard until the last second and Reese's relentless defensive efforts in the paint kept the Tigers competitive, costly turnovers and scoring droughts will end the Tigers run and squander their hopes at back-to-back national championships.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
