After interviewing John and Kathy Huggins at the Quartzsite RV Show in January 2014, they asked me two questions. First, why didn't I have a podcast of my own? Second, why wasn't I living and working out of an RV? Two months later, I had both and became a Workamper.

This week's episode is another installment of "The Re-Readables", a series in which we revisit some of our favorite business books to find out if they stand the test of time. Greg Gerber has become something of a regular contributor here on the Podcast. Greg is the founder of BitLift, and he is our go-to guy for all things blockchain and cryptocurrency. Greg joins us this week to talk about a book that has become eerily prescient, particularly among the cryptocurrency crowd. The Sovereign Individual by James Dale Davidson and William Rees-Mogg was published back in 1997, but the insights and topics in the book were not only far ahead of their time, but they remain eerily relevant today. In today's podcast, you'll hear our thoughts on why this book is still so important, why it's important for entrepreneurs to be able to see into the future, and how we can consider the ideas within The Sovereign Individual when attempting to look to the future ourselves.

It goes without saying that as internet entrepreneurs, we are fascinated by the future of money, and it's hard to talk about the future of money without talking about cryptocurrency. Greg Gerber is our go-to guy when it comes to simplifying the complicated world of crypto. We've invited Greg back on to the show this week to talk about the state of crypto in 2020. As this conversation unfolds, you'll hear about the philosophical differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum, the emerging lending industry in the crypto space, and how Greg hopes to help more people go down the crypto rabbit hole with his newest venture, BitLift. Disclaimer: These are just our opinions, and are presented for informational purposes only. They are not intended to be considered as financial advice.

http://www.tropicalmba.com/maitie/ Today's show is all about seizing opportunities. Last year, Dan and Ian invited Greg Gerber, who is a member of our community The Dynamite Circle, on to the show to talk about how he gifted an up-and-coming entrepreneur an all-expenses-paid trip to our annual event in Barcelona. This idea of "paying it forward" has really taken off in the community since then. At our recent event in Austin, TX, Meryl Johnston offered two free tickets on behalf of her company, Bean Ninjas. Dan and Ian contributed a few free tickets of their own, with others offering free airfare, coaching, and more. On today's podcast, you'll hear from one of the recipients of that gift. Jen Anderson is the founder of Mai-Tie, a company that makes unique, fashionable bowties out of vintage Hawaiian shirts. While her business is still in its infancy, she has a huge amount of experience in the startup world, and some interesting insights into that as well. This is the story of what it takes to find your people.
Greg Gerber is back to continue our discussion about the trap of Pornography and the deliverance out of the mire through the saving Grace and Power of Jesus. Since this conversation I’ve had the opportunity to share Greg’s book with a few guys and I’m excited to see the fruit of them taking the steps … Continue reading "Greg Gerber: More Hope to Crush the Porn Addiction" The post Greg Gerber: More Hope to Crush the Porn Addiction appeared first on Modern Christian Men.
Timing is Everything! My wife and I attended a conference down in ATL this February. Early on the 2nd morning, a fella with a Texas sized grin sat down beside me. http://www.tropicalmba.com/cryptocurrency/ A few weeks back, Dan and Ian shared an in-depth conversation about cryptocurrency. That podcast featured Greg Gerber, who spoke about the basic things that you need to know about Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital currencies. The response to that podcast was fantastic, and we thought we would follow up on the topic by inviting our longtime friend, and cryptocurrency enthusiast, Taylor Pearson back on to the show. Taylor's recent article "Why Is Bitcoin Valuable" was recently featured on the front page of Hacker News. On today's show, Taylor joins us to talk about that article, and to share his insights on the philosophy behind this new technological movement. This episode isn't all philosophical, though. Taylor also shares some great tips about how you can dip your toes into the crypto space if you are so inclined.

http://www.tropicalmba.com/theservicesproblem/ Last week, Dan and Ian spoke to Greg Gerber on this podcast. During that conversation, Greg mentioned that he had recently interacted with many listeners of this show, and that a large portion of them owned services businesses. He also spoke about how he believed that those entrepreneurs were struggling to take the next step in their business. This insight into the audience of the show got our hosts thinking. What if they could help those entrepreneurs take that next step? On this week's episode, Dan and Ian will be talking at great length about what "The Services Problem" is, as well as sharing three strategies that entrepreneurs with these types of businesses can employ in order to solve it.

http://www.tropicalmba.com/gregsgift/ Dan and Ian have shared many stories on this show about luck, serendipity, and being in the right place at the right time. But what if that luck isn't totally random? Today's episode is about entrepreneurs (and specifically listeners of this show) connecting to help each other out on their entrepreneurial journey. It begins with Greg Gerber, who made a post in our private membership forum The Dynamite Circle offering to give one lucky entrepreneur an all-expenses paid trip to our annual conference in Bangkok, DC BKK. The recipient of that gift was Madeleine Lambert. Madeleine started a content marketing business called Content Refined last year. She and Greg have joined us today to share the story of Greg's gift and how Madeline's business has grown to $50,000 in monthly recurring revenue since she received it.

No matter where or how you roll, the one thing all RVers have in common is the way the RV lifestyle seems to bring people together - literally and figuratively. For snowbirds, full-timers, near full-timers like Jennifer and me or weekend campers, it's the sheer joy of getting out and meeting new people or simply spending quality time with your spouse or friends. For families with younger children or grandchildren, it means bonding time away from the distractions of day-to-day living, TV, video games, and iPods. Take Stephanie and Jeremy Puglisi, for example. Together with their three children, the Puglisis spend almost 50 nights a year RVing with their children and say they have it down to a science by now. They document their adventures on the RV Family Travel Atlas blog and podcast and join us for episode 23 of the Roadtreking RV Lifestyle podcast with great lessons for parents and grandchildren who RV with childern. In this conversation we learn: How to have a balance between scheduled activities and “down time” Kids never get bored once they are out there, just introduce them to the outdoors Families/grandparents should splurge for kid-friendly campsites, with swimming pools, playgrounds and games Take your kids/grandkids on hikes, challenge them, use it to teach them about the nature and geography You are building amazing memories for your kids and grandkids that they will treasure their entire lives Have a campfire every night. It's a great family bonding time Kids naturally will gravitate to outdoor activities over screen time in front of a TV or computer Recognize that things will go wrong but “we will get through this.” Learning that when things go wrong, we will solve the problem and then we'll have great stories to tell makes for a well-adjusted kid. Each night at an RV park, a neighborhood springs up and kids need all of about five minutes to make friends with a pack of kids. Besides the interview with the Puglisis, we take questions and comments from listeners about: Recommended RV-related audiobooks The Roadtreking Song of the Week submitted by the band Swift Creek Talk about getting all of that salt - regardless of source - off of your RV Plus we have tech tips, a bucket list destination of the week and a whole lot more. [spp-player] First Things First: Prayers for Living the RV Dream's Kathy Huggins We kick off the show with a special call to action - pray for Kathy Huggins from Living the RV Dream. Kathy and John Huggins were on the show last week. Kathy began complaining about severe abdominal pain Friday night, and she was transported to Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. Doctors there discovered a hernia which impeded blood flow to her upper intestines. Surgeons removed 95 percent of her small intestines. John Huggins told our friend Greg Gerber of RV Daily Report that Kathy is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Thomas Hospital, and on ventilator support. When she is awake, she can recognize those around her and squeeze their hands, which he said is encouraging. Although she is expected to recover, the road ahead will require major adjustment on her part, John explained. “I don't think either Kathy or I realized just how many lives we have touched,” said John. “The outpouring of support has been humbling and highly encouraging. We really, really appreciate everyone's prayers and concern.” Check-in of the Week: Roadtreking Fan Jose from Spain A listener named Jose calls from Spain to check-in and let us that our fans definitely are not limited to the United States and Canada. Any other international fans out there? Record a quick message by clicking the tab on the right. We would love to hear from you! Roadtreking Song of the Week: "Wake Me Up to Drive" by Swift Creek Listener and Musician Kevin Brown, of Raleigh, N.C., leaves us a message in response to our recent and ongoing discussion over best songs to listen to while RVing. You can hear it on the podcast.
From bad repairs and overwhelmed service centers to inadequate Wi-Fi, life on the RV roadways can be challenging. For episode 21 of the Roadtreking RV Lifestyle podcast, we talk to Greg Gerber, editor of RV Daily Report – and recently an RV full-timer – about many of the challenges every RVer will likely face at one time or another. "There's always a list of something that needs to be fixed," Gerber says on this Roadtreking podcast. "Hardly a month goes by where we aren't having someone take a peek at something." Gerber has been covering the industry since 2000 and has become widely recognized as one of the top RV industry insiders. He talks about what it took to finally get away from his desk for good and become a full-time RVer - and many of the challenges of which he is experiencing first-hand. Among the many topics covered with Gerber: - Should you buy a new or used RV - Why campground Wi-Fi sucks - Why data card cellular Internet in campgrounds is getting bad - How RV service shops sometimes give second rate service to travelers who bought their rigs elsewhere - Why RV service is so hard to find - Why mobile RV service trucks may be the best way to get your rig fixed in a timely manner [spp-player] Also from episode 21 of the Roadtreking podcast: First Things First: Better Access, Chevy or Sprinter? We kick off the show by drawing on the knowledge of Roadtreking Reporter Campskunk to answer a listener question about what chassis offers easier access - Sprinter or Chevrolet? Specifically, listener Jody is a full-timer who wants to downsize from a 38-foot travel trailer to a Class B yet has concerns about ground clearance because of a disability. Question: When is Roadtreking Going to Talk More Amateur Radio? John, a ham radio operator, suggests we talk more about ham radio. I comment about some of the things we have already done along with my own plans for ham radio. Comment: Stream Roadtreking Through Roku's Private iTunes Channel Dale notes how he listens to the podcast through his Roku Stick, which allows iTunes podcasts to stream through his home entertainment system and TV. Dale fills us in on the free private channel he added to his Roku account to get podcasts like Roadtreking. Question: Can You Tell Us More About Your New RV? Tim asks a bunch of questions about our new RV, including why we're now in the Roadtrek CS Adventurous XL with its propane furnace and gas burners instead of the all-electric eTrek we had been driving. Question: Any Suggestions for Learning More About Dispersed Camping? And a reader asks about suggestions for earning more about dispersed camping across the U.S. I refer him to this post written for the blog - https://rvlifestyle.com/dispersed-camping-in-national-forests/ and the site http://www.forestcamping.com/ RV News of the Week: Las Vegas KOA Moves, Mich. Fees Up, Calif. Parks in Trouble The long time KOA campground on the Las Vegas strip is moving to a new location (Read more) Michigan is raising camping fees at state parks (Read more) A report says California's state parks are under “serious stress” (Read more) RV Tech Tip of the Week: Apps to Help Split the Bill Sure, meeting other RVers and going out for delicious meals all across the land is fun - except when the bill comes. Worry no more, however, as I offer up three great apps that make splitting the bill way less stressful. I first talked about them for my PC Mike Techcast. The Tip N Split app for Apple perfectly describes what it does. It adds in the tip automatically and then divides it up between those at the table. It splits the tip uniformly, equally among everyone. The Lite version is free. There's also a similar Tip N Split Caculator for Android on the Google Play store. But if some ordered more expensive stuff, you may want to instead use the Billr app for the iPhone. It splits the bill unevenly, for up to 16 people. It adds the tip, takes into account the cost of each item ordered,
