1/28/1966 Neville has two lectures called What Must We Do this one may be the better of the two. This focuses on the power of belief Tonight's title is “What Must We Do?” This is asked in scripture, “What must we do to be doing the work of God?” and he answered, “This is the work of God that you believe in him whom he has sent” (John6:29). It all starts with believing; you believe in him whom he has sent. Now, what must I do? Believe that a person called Jesus Christ lived? Just how would I go about believing in him and believing that God sent him? I simply read his story, read all that he tells, all the signs, and then see if I can believe it. For he tells us, “We speak what we know and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not believe it. If I tell you earthly things and you do not believe it, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” (John3:12).

May 5 1963 Neville Goddard We turn now to the 15th chapter of the Book of John. Here we are told about a strange vine. He said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that bears no fruit, my Father takes away, and every branch that bears fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit” (verse 1). And you'll find a parallel in Isaiah 18. I look at my world, and everything seems on the outside but everything. It seems completely independent of my perception of it, everything in this world; I don't care what it is. This, the nearest thing in my world seems so completely detached and independent of my perception of it, and that is my circular world, as I look at the world; to the extent that I can take everything in my world and change it and make it conform to my ideal of what I think it ought to be, always using love as a motivation. Let me use my Imagination lovingly on behalf of every being in this world, and see them, as they ought to be seen were they now actually enjoying what they are doing. Let me persuade myself that it is true. As I bring about these changes in my outer world, this circular thing, I am producing that circular motion within me. I'm binding it. And when I'm completely convinced that nothing in this world truly exists independently of my perception of it, but nothing; I have completed that circular motion. 

2/4/1966 Tonight's subject you will find very, very practical. It's “Commune with Yourself”…that is the title. It is my aim from this platform to raise you to a confident faith in imagining. The logical end of this embodiment of faith in imagining is when “to believe” is not distinguishable from “to know.” True believing is tantamount to knowing. Reading from the Bible it is faith in God; but man, as he hears the word God, he thinks of something other than self, something in space. The vastness of this enormous universe leads him to believe in something other than self. But I am speaking of the only true God. His name revealed to man is I AM. I'm saying Imagination is the divine body in every man, and that is God himself. So, when I speak of faith in God, I'm speaking of faith in self. God's actions are the imaginal actions of men; therefore, have faith in these imaginal acts. The basis of all that is is imagining. This world in which we live is a world of Imagination.

June 4 1971 You will find tonight very practical, and yet I assure you, very, very spiritual. Christianity has to be continually redeemed from secular history, for Jesus Christ is the human imagination. As Paul tells us in his First Letter to the Corinthians, “We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed upon us by God.”

Your Imagination Creates Reality - Date Unknown - Neville Goddard Your own wonderful human imagination is the actual creative power of God within you. It is your savior. If you were thirsty, water would be your savior. If you needed a job, employment would be your savior. Your imagination is the power to save you from whatever circumstances you now find yourself. You can experience your heart's desire through the use of your imagination. Nothing is impossible to your imagination. Your imagination is unlimited in what it can accomplish. If you can imagine something, you can achieve it. Let me give you an example. If you were unable to walk and were confined to a wheelchair, you could close your eyes and imagine yourself running on the beach or wading in the water. If you would imagine yourself doing this until it took on the tones of reality, you could accomplish a healing that would allow you to actually walk or run.

Imagination 7-15-1969 Neville Goddard Tonight's subject is Imagination. You read in the 17th chapter of the book of Acts, a story of Paul coming through to the Athenians, and he calls upon these men, for he saw the inscription over and over. He said: “As I passed by…I saw [an altar with] this inscription, ‘To an unknown god.' This therefore that you worship as unknown, [this] I proclaim unto you.” “He is not far from each of us, for in him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:23, 27, 28) The great Blake said it differently. This is what Blake said: “All that you behold; though it appears without, it is within, in your Imagination, of which this World of Mortality is but a Shadow.” (“Jerusalem”) ...So, what are you imaging? You determine that. For, as I said earlier, I imagine, as do you. We cannot imagine differently. All differences lie in content. What is my response to the eternal question, “Who am I?” That response determines the conditions of my life. Am I a little unknown being, struggling for a dollar to pay rent, to buy food? Well, all right, that's what will happen to me. And there's no being on the outside to change it! I've got to bring about the change within myself. I can borrow money and beg for money and if I remain in that little concept of myself, I will be unable to pay back and will always have to keep looking for someone else to borrow from while I remain in the consciousness of being a little unwanted non-entity. 

Simon Lifts The CrossNeville Goddard3/17/69 I think you will find this very practical tonight. But to me the most practical book in the world is the Bible. We are told they found one whose name was Simon and they laid on him the cross to carry it behind Jesus. Well, the word Simon in scripture means “to hear with understanding and then to consent to what you have heard.” You may hear it and deny it, that's not Simon. Simon is one who hears and consents, he agrees to what he has heard. Now, who is Jesus, for he carries the cross behind Jesus? The gospel tells what happened in the soul of Jesus…events that were seen and heard by none save by him. Through these experiences he gained the certainty that he was the Son of God and eventually God himself. The story is told and few will accept it, for his interpretation of scripture of the secret of Messiah as against the interpretations of the priests were poles apart. But Simon understood what he heard and could follow it, and now he carries the cross. I hope tonight that everyone in this room could call himself or herself a Simon.

A Riddle4/28/1969Neville Goddard Tonight we will take a riddle. We are so accustomed to this strange, false, secular interpretation of scripture that we do not realize how daring it is. It is not history as the world understands it. It hasn't a thing to do with the drama on earth; it's all about the soul, the reality of man. So the question is asked in the 30th chapter of the Book of Proverbs, “Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!” (30:4). So do we know? That's the beginning of the riddle. It's a challenge and only the indolent mind would fail to accept the challenge. 

In Praise Of WIsdomNeville Goddard4/23/1965 Tonight's subject is “In Praise of Wisdom.” The Bible speaks of two entirely different types: The wisdom of this world which they claim is foolishness in the eyes of God; and then the wisdom of God which is foolishness in the eyes of man. But the road to the wisdom of God is the great secret of God. It's not through some initiation ceremony or philosophical instruction, but through the highest gift of the Spirit which is love. With this as your guide you can't go wrong. 

If You Really Can BelieveNeville Goddard6-15-1970 Divine Imagining has no restrictions placed upon it. Human imagining has one restriction placed upon it to believe. “All things are possible to him who believes.” So they equate man . . he is speaking of you with God, but on this level it is believing. Can you believe it? There is no other limitation, other than man's capacity to believe what he has imagined. “All things are possible to him who believes.” So, the only restriction placed upon man is his ability to believe what his reason, what his senses, deny . . that's all. No other restriction.

We speak in the Bible of repentance, and the world thinks that it means to regret, to be remorseful. That's not what the Bible teaches. Prayer and repentance are almost synonymous terms. We are told to bear fruit that befits repentance. Then they say of the central character of the Scripture: “You and your disciples eat and drink with sinners.” And he replied, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Leave the righteous alone. They are so self-satisfied. They like themselves, so leave them alone. The word “sin” hasn't a thing to do with breaking any moral code. The word “sin” means to miss the mark. That's what it means. You have a goal in life and you haven't achieved it, well then, you are sinning. You may have a billion dollars, and still are hungry for another. Well then, if you don't have the other, you are sinning. You may keep all the so-called codes of the world imposed upon you by the priesthoods of the world—that would mean nothing as far as the Scriptures go. To repent is simply a radical change of attitude. That is what repentance means. For if I radically change my attitude towards life, I will then view the world and see the world from that change of attitude. And that change is a change of consciousness, and that change will be externalized in my world. Now, repentance is at once man's responsibility and a gift of God. Now, let us show you what I mean by it. 

The subject is concerning the making of things in this world. There is a Maker and we are called upon to test this Maker. That which appears as made points to an activity that does not appear. As we are told, “What we see was made out of things which do not appear” (Heb. 11:3). Now, I am asked to test this principle. So in Paul's letter to the Corinthians he said, “Test yourselves”…first of all, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are holding to your faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test” (2 Cor. 13:5). So tonight we want to test this principle, for he tells us that “By him all things were made and without him was not anything made that was made” (Jn. 1:3). And this presence that makes everything is within us. Now I must find him and put him to the test, for I'm called upon to test him. It didn't say he makes only the good but everything—good, bad or indifferent. So I must now really test him, this presence. I tell you I have tested him and I know who he is. He is my own wonderful human Imagination. 

God Is The Great Artist5/19/69 God is the great artist and there is no artistry so loving but that which perfects its work through ages in the making of its image. God has but one consuming objective: to make his image…making his image in us to reflect himself and to radiate his glory. Now, on this level, he exists here as our own wonderful human Imagination. All things exist in the human Imagination, because the human Imagination is the divine body called the Lord Jesus. That is God. On the highest level his artistry is towards the making of his image. On this level we're asked to do something similar…and so I say to a friend, what would you like to be? And he answers, “Well, I would like to be a doctor.” All right, that's an image. And you, “A business man.” And you…and then he names this, that and the other. Well, we, too, are the artists lowered to this level. For we are the artist on the highest level making ourselves the image, which would radiate and reflect the glory of the being that we really are who is God. But while we are there on this level, we simply single out what we would like to be. Neville. The Return of Glory: 1969 Lectures 

In the 64th chapter of the Book of Isaiah we read, “O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay. Thou art our potter; we are all the work of thy hand” (64:8). Well, when you read it you might think, “All right, O Lord” and you think of another. Then you say, “Thou art our Father”…that's the same other. We are but clay and thou art our potter. Well, it's identified with the Lord and with the Father, so you think also of another, and we're all the work of thy hand. The word “potter” by definition simply means “Imagination.” The word “Lord” is Yod He Vau He, which is defined for us as I AM. You mean that my own wonderful I-am-ness is the Lord, is my Father, and is my potter? That I am actually shaping myself and shaping my world? Yes, that is exactly what it means, that the Father is the Lord and the Lord is the potter shaping my entire world. But I am the shaper shaping it into a form, molding it into a form. Now, can I prove it? Am I really all Imagination as everyone who has experienced it knows? That “Man is all Imagination and God is man, and exists in us and we in him…that the eternal body of man is the Imagination, and that really is God himself” 

This is a rare lecture I only recently discovered that is a new addition to the pantheon.  The J,E, And P Manuscripts is a the name of the unknown authors of genesis. It is an odd name for the lecture as he really does not talk about it too much but there is a lot here "I think you'll find tonight very interesting. In the Book of Genesis which begins one of the manuscripts…there are three that we have, the J, the E and the P manuscripts. That's all the authors that we know of, and no one knows who they are. Scholars claim all kinds of things for these initials, but regardless of that, tonight we will begin with the E, which begins with the 15th chapter of Genesis. It doesn't mention the first fourteen. And here is the story, “As the sun was going down, Abram fell into a deep sleep; and a dread and great darkness fell upon him. The Lord said to him, ‘Know for a surety that your descendants will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and they will be slaves there, and they will be oppressed for four hundred years… and after that they will come out with great possessions'” (Gen.15:12). I think you will find this hour a very practical hour and yet a very spiritual hour. We are told in the Book of Romans, Paul's letter to the Romans, the very first chapter that all the invisible things of God are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made (1:20). So man is called upon to look at the made and then to discover the invisible God. All of the invisible things of him are clearly seen, and how do I know? Well, I look at the things that are made…and I begin to reflect upon what I did. For here I find myself in a world and am I really responsible? I try to find out why. I look at all the things round about me and finally I come upon a certain thought. You know, when there was not a thing in the world to support my belief, I began to believe that one day I would experience this…and then I experienced it. So I relate the things seen to the unseen. Could that be God? Well now, Paul tells us in the very next verse, “Although they knew God they did not honor him as God.” Oh, I found the relationship between the things seen and the unseen reality, the imaginal act, but I did not honor him as God. And then I turned to images resembling man and I thought man on the outside was the cause, because he seemed to aid me in bringing this to pass. I turn and I exchange the immortal God for images resembling man. Or I might have turned to other images, that of a man, not only a man but that of a reptile, that of an animal, that of a bird, and I turn to these and think that they are the cause of my good fortune or misfortune. And I gave up the truth about God for a lie, and began to worship and serve the thing created instead of the Creator; for I could relate the outer world in which I live to an imaginal activity within myself. Then I knew that that was the cause of it; for if God is the cause of everything in the world and I discover how it happened and then I will not accept the fact, I do not honor him as God. 

Neville Goddard6/16/1969 In the nature of things, it is impossible for any child born of woman to go unredeemed. When I say “I am,” I am proclaiming all that is divine in my flesh. How then can God cast away that which is the “I” in me, the “I” that constitutes me? He will be casting away himself as useless, and that is impossible. Does it teach this in scripture? Yes it does. All the little statements in scripture, all the little stories are parables. The life of Christ is a parable. We must distinguish between the story as it is told and the message that it intends to tell. So we are told in the 18th chapter of the gospel of Matthew: “And calling a child, he put him into the midst of them…See that no one despises these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven always they behold the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Mat.18:1,10). 

World of nature. Night after night, I teach and tell the story of him who comes from above this world of nature. If you are here for the first time, it may seem strange, but you take it to heart and you dwell upon it and you will find it in the end far more practical than all the things that our scientists can give you. Well, this is revelation. I did not come by it through reason, it was all revealed to me. And the vast difference between revealed truth and science. Revealed truth is wisdom as defined in the Scripture. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Science is knowledge based upon experiments, and we've done a wonderful job in the world of science. But what I've been sent to tell you is not science. It's simply revelation. The revelation of him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. There's no change in this being of whom I speak. He's called in Scripture, Jesus Christ, which is the Father and the Son. Jesus is the Lord and Christ, his Son. 

To tell you who you are would really shock you. Here we sit in this world of ours frightened, scared to death, and here we are God himself, the very God who created the whole vast universe and sustains it. 

The Bible recognizes one source of dreams: all dreams proceed from God. In the 33rd chapter of the Book of Job we are told that God speaks to man in two ways, but man does not perceive it. Then it states the two ways: “In a dream and a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while they slumber on their beds; then he opens the ears of men and seals their instruction” (33:14). Now, you tell that to a psychiatrist, he will think you are insane. He will tell you that all dreams are from the individual dreamer, because he separates the dreamer from God. He does not understand what you are talking about. God's eternal name is I AM, so who is dreaming? Well, I am…well, that's God…that's his name forever and forever. So I'm not separating the dreamer from God. All dreams proceed from God. Some are simple and you need no interpreter; others are revealed in a symbolic language which is not understood and then you need the interpreter. 

God Given Talent05-31-1971Neville Goddard Tonight is the Law. We are told in the book of Acts that: “God is not far from each one of us, for in Him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Acts 17:28) I would like to change that a little, and say to you that: God is never so far off as even to be near, for nearness implies separation. And God and Man are one. “Man is all imagination, and God is man, and exists in us and we in Him” [Wm. Blake, from “Annotations to Berkeley”] “The Eternal Body of Man is the imagination, and that is God Himself.” [Wm. Blake, from “The Laocoon”] So, He cannot even be near, for nearness implies separation. On this level, you and I can go amuck, go berserk, exercising this same power that created the universe and sustains it. Your own wonderful human imagination is God. That's God! “By Him all things were made, and without Him was not anything made that was made,” (John 1:3) . . good, bad or indifferent. 

In Teaching reality creation and the ways in which imagination creates reality, Neville Goddard regularly advised adding the tones of reality to your visualizations and meditations. What are these tones of reality? Could they be the true secret to learning how make your reality actualized. 

Tonight we will play the part of Judas. What was it that Judas betrayed? Judas betrayed the Messianic secret and the place where Jesus might be found…a most important role in the great mystery of God. Neville. The Return of Glory: 1969 Lectures 

Blake said, “All are men in Eternity, rivers, mountains, cities, villages, all are human, and when you enter into their bosoms you enter into and walk in heavens and earths, as in your own bosom you walk in heavens and earths. And all that you behold, though it appears without, it is within, in your Imagination, of which this world of mortality is but a shadow” (Jerusalem, Plt.71). When you read it you may ask yourself, “What is he talking about?” Yet this is the language of the Bible. Biblical language evokes rather than describes. The Bible is talking of another world, of another man, of Jesus Christ, and unless you know something of the experience it tries to express, its language can hardly come alive. Neville. The Only God Is I AM 3/10/1969(AKA You Can Never Outgrow I AM)Neville Goddard The only God that man will never outgrow and therefore never lose is the God he knows in the first-person, present-tense experience. When he finds this God, he then tells his brothers, “As you are told in scripture, if I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” He comes to reveal God as the eternal contemporary, and man finds it difficult, almost impossible to keep the tense, for he reveals God as I AM. “Unless you believe that I am (is) he, you die in your sins” (Jn.8:24). No man who will think of God in the third-person knows God. When you address God in the second-person you do not know God. “All that you behold; tho' it appears without, it is within, in your Imagination, of which this world of mortality is but a shadow” (Blake, Jerusalem, Plt. 71). You cannot conceive of something that is not already contained within you. If you imagine it and enter into that state as though it were true, the outer world will respond to bear witness of this imaginal activity within you. 

2/14/69Neville Goddard We are told that God became man that man may become God. And you may think that you are the man and God is the other that became you. Tonight I would have you reverse that: you are the God that became man that man may become you. If I understand scripture correctly and if my visions which parallel scripture are accurate, and I know they are, I tell you that what I just told you is true. Then we are told in the 82nd Psalm that we shall die like men: “I say that you are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, you will die like men, and fall as one man, O princes” (verses 1, 6). So we were the gods who became men that men may become as we are. So here we find ourselves today in the world of men. Now we are told, the day will come that we will tell posterity…posterity will serve us and tell of the Lord who wrought it…who actually brought about the deliverance of man. So you and I actually became humanity that humanity may become as we are. This I do know from my own personal mystical experience. So reverse it, don't think that you are some little worm and then God became as you are that you may be as he is. You were God and therefore you are God. You became man that man may become you, and that you is God. So you take the whole thing and reverse it and then you'll have an entirely different feeling about it. Neville. Tonight's subject is “Foreknowledge.” We're told in scripture that “Thus said the Lord of hosts, ‘As I have planned, so shall it be; as I have purposed, so shall it stand. And the Lord will not turn back until he has executed and accomplished the intents of his mind'” (Is. 14:24; Jer. 23:20). Now the structure of God's plan is given us in the Book of Romans. Here we have it in five terms: “Those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified” (8:29). Now here, in these five terms we have a very strong case for predestination, and there is no way that you can interpret these terms and avoid that conclusion. But does it rob us on this level of our freedom?—no. “He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6). He will bring it to completion. But on the surface of his being, where we are, while that work is taking place in us we are not robbed of our freedom. Tonight's subject is “The Mystery of Imagination.” I could have titled it “The Mystery of God, the Mystery of Man, the Mystery of Christ.” It would have been the same thing. But I took for tonight the use of the word Imagination—it would not offend. But these three are interchangeable words. So here, I imagine as do you. We cannot imagine differently. All the differences lie in content. And so, we ask the little question “Who am I?” and our response to that question determines content…and there we differ. The whole vast world differs based upon their response to that enormous question, which we find in scripture. Who am I? I could tell you that you are God. You wouldn't believe it. You can read it in scripture: “Be still and know that I am God.” You'll read it in the 46th Psalm, but you won't believe it. If I told you that you are Christ, you might be offended; you may have some external concept of a being and you call him Christ. When I say that you do imagine, that wouldn't offend you because you know we do imagine. And you may not believe for one moment that this power of imagining is the power of God, but, nevertheless, you do imagine. The idea that I've been trying to get over since I started back in 1938 is still new. It comes as a shock to anyone who hears it. And even after you've heard it for years and years, and think you're living by it, I've discovered that one is not really living by it. It has not yet become a part of their thinking. And it is that imagining creates reality. I say this because I identify imagining with God in action. To me, man is all imagination and God is man and exists in us and we in him. The eternal body of man is the imagination. And that is God himself. If by God, I mean the creator of the universe, the maker and the master of the whole vast universe and I identify that creator with the human imagination, then man should be more careful as to what he's imagining. So, I can give lip service to the statement imagining creates reality. And yet if I'm observant in the course of a day, if I observe what I'm imagining, I would find unnumbered moments in my life, in one twenty-four hours or other, the waking eighteen, where I am imagining things I do not wish to experience If I really believe that imagining creates reality, I would be more careful, more concerned about what I'm imagining. So, I will give it lip service and say imagining creates reality and go blindly on imagining anything other than what I want to create, beginning with the morning paper and reacting to things that you do not know, whether they be true, they could be planted by some press agent, planted by some lobbyists. You do not know. We Are Witnesses12/9/66Neville Goddard “We are Witnesses.” Everyone is a witness to God's Promise. We're told in the 44th chapter of Isaiah…in fact, it starts with a question, “Who has announced from of old the things to come? Let them tell us what is yet to be. Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock, I know not any” (Is.44:7). So he tells every one of us, you and I were all in God in the beginning. This is not an accident—we're all contained within him—it's a purpose, it's a plan. We saw exactly what God's purpose was, every one of us, no one left out. Now, what is a witness? A witness is one who has first-hand information of a fact or an event.We're told in scripture that the evidence of two or three, if they should agree, it is conclusive. If two or three witnesses agree in testimony, it is conclusive, but you cannot on the testimony of one man. There must be two or more. Now we are told that scripture is God's testimony. This is what man must testify to. And he testifies to it by telling the story not as hearsay but of his own personal experience. Here we find the words, “That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we have actually seen and touched with our hand, of the word of life, that declare we unto you” (1 John 1:1). And yet if I'm observant in the course of a day, if I observe what I'm imagining, I would find unnumbered moments in my life, in one twenty-four hours or other, the waking eighteen, where I am imagining things I do not wish to experienceIf I really believe that imagining creates reality, I would be more careful, more concerned about what I'm imagining. So, I will give it lip service and say imagining creates reality and go blindly on imagining anything other than what I want to create, beginning with the morning paper and reacting to things that you do not know, whether they be true, they could be planted by some press agent, planted by some lobbyists. You do not know. My subject this morning is taken from the First Epistle of John. Now these twenty-one letters (or as we call them, epistles) are not really addressed to individuals or groups. They are mysteries, as is the entire Bible. Whether the Bible in the Old Testament tells the story in the form of history, or whether they tell it in the form of a parable, or whether in the form of a letter, they are all revelations of the mind of God expressed in symbolism. Now, I do not claim that I can give you an exhaustive interpretation of any single story of the Bible. Because they are revelations of the mind of the Infinite, no single interpretation could ever be exhaustive. On one level it may be true, and then you and I expand in consciousness and we reread the letter and see it differently, and a further expansion in consciousness causes us . . even when we reread it for the fiftieth time . . to still see the letter in a different light. So in this morning's interpretation I will try to keep it on a level that is most practical. We are told in the First John, 5: "This is He that came by water and blood even Jesus Christ, not by water only, but by water and blood." So these are symbols of birth. Every natural birth in the world is accompanied by the flowing of water and blood. It's trying to tell the individual of a certain mystery of birth, but he uses the words Christ Jesus and that is the symbol of a truly mysterious birth . . something out of nothing. That is the mystery. Out of death, life. Man cannot conceive it. How can something alive come out of that which is dead . . how can something come out of nothing? In October I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Sweta Hariharan at the mad mystic tour in New York City. You may not have heard of her but I was so impressed with her knowledge as a Neville Goddard historian. John the Crown of ScriptureMarch 6, 1972Neville Goddard  Truth which man knows from experience, he knows more clearly than he knows anything else in this world. For then he can know that same truth in any other way. If what I tell you is true and you believe it, a benediction is pronounced upon you, as we're told in the very end of the book of John. But the day will come, if it is true, that you yourself will know it from experience, and then you really know it. Then you can be called as a witness. So, we are told the truth, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Is that true? And what is this mystery called, Jesus Christ? Well, tonight, let me share with you what I know from experience. The gospel of John, is in many ways, the crown of the Scriptures. It is the simplest and yet the most profound book in the New Testament. It starts off with these stories and the stories never come to an end. They pass off into conversations and the conversations fade from into a dialogue to a monologue. We find subtle use of words with double meaning. And in each case, those who hear it take the obvious meaning in its context, which is not the meaning intended. There is another meaning, a meaning that is related to the history of redemption. We find this especially in the conversation between Nicodemus and the Lord. Nicodemus came by night. He was a ruler of the Jews, a member of the Sanhedrin, a Pharisee, a brilliant mind, the interpreter of the law.
