Each year, under the bright full moon of Guru Purnima, yoga practitioners and seekers around the world pause to honor the timeless presence of the Guru, the teacher who removes darkness and reveals the light that has always been within us. But what does it truly mean to walk in the light of the Guru? In the ancient yoga tradition, the Guru is far more than just a transmitter of techniques or philosophy. The Guru is the living embodiment of wisdom, a steady flame passed from teacher to student, generation after generation. The Guru: Not Just a Teacher, but a Living Embodiment Our ancient texts speak clearly about this. The Mundaka Upanishad (1.2.12) tells us: तद्विज्ञानार्थं स गुरुमेवाभिगच्छेत समित्पाणिः श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्मनिष्ठम् ॥ Tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet Samit-panih srotriyam brahma-nishtham "To realize that Supreme Knowledge, one must approach a Guru alone, carrying fuel in hand, who is learned in the scriptures (srotriya) and firmly established in Brahman (brahma-nistha)." These two qualities, srotriya and brahma-nistha, reveal the heart of the true Guru. Srotriya (श्रोत्रिय) comes from sruti (श्रुति), meaning "that which is heard," the revealed wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads. Etymologically, sru means to hear and -triya means possessor of. A srotriya is one who has fully mastered the sacred teachings, the outer mastery of scripture, tradition, and precise method. Brahma-nistha (ब्रह्मनिष्ठ) brings us deeper still. Brahman is the undivided reality, the ultimate truth. Nistha means "firmly established," from nis (down, firm) and stha (to stand). A brahma-nistha is one who stands unshakably rooted in the living truth of Brahman. This is the inner realization that breathes life into the outer knowledge. Together, they remind us: Without srotriya, the teaching drifts. Without brahma-nistha, the teaching is lifeless. How the Guru Lives in Our Lineage In the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, we have seen these qualities alive in the teachers who came before us. K. Pattabhi Jois was a true srotriya, deeply rooted in Sanskrit, the Vedas, and the subtle method of Ashtanga Yoga. Yet his real power came from being brahma-nistha too: his whole life was practice, devotion, and direct living example. He did not just talk about yoga, he was yoga, every dawn, every breath, every student who came to him. Sharath Jois, Guruji's grandson, embodies this same living thread. His srotriya shines through in the precise count, the unwavering discipline, the commitment to preserve the parampara, the unbroken lineage. But what touches people most is his brahma-nistha: the quiet steadiness, the humility, the simple, living truth that shows through his presence and service to this path. A true Guru does not make you a follower. A true Guru shows you how to find the light that has always been yours. The Guru Cultivates the Inner Flame As Patanjali reminds us in the Yoga Sutra (1.20): श्रद्धावीर्यस्मृतिसमाधिप्रज्ञापूर्वक इतरेषाम् ॥ १.२० ॥ Sraddha-virya-smrti-samadhi-prajna-purvaka itaresam "For others, samadhi comes through faith (sraddha), vigor (virya), remembrance (smrti), deep absorption (samadhi), and wisdom (prajna)." These qualities are the hidden garden the Guru nourishes in us: Sraddha: faith, the quiet trust that steadies us when doubt arises. Virya: courageous effort, the strength to keep going. Smrti: remembrance of who we really are and why we practice. Samadhi: deep absorption, the merging of mind, breath, and heart. Prajna: clear insight, the wisdom that sees through illusion. The outer Guru lights this lamp. The inner Guru keeps it burning. A Prayer on Guru Purnima When we bow on Guru Purnima, we do not bow only to a person, we bow to the entire living thread that connects us to truth: our teachers, our daily practice, our inner wisdom. May our lives be our offering back, our sraddha, our virya, our willingness to stand firm in the truth when the world wavers. May we carry this flame forward, bright and steady, for all those who will come after us, seeking the same light that our Gurus kept alive for us. ॐ श्रीगुरुभ्यो नमः। Pranam to all Gurus, visible and invisible, past, present, and yet to come. Closing Thought May Guru Purnima remind you that the Guru is not far away. The true Guru lives in your daily breath, your sincere effort, and the quiet voice inside that whispers, keep going. May we keep this light alive, together. Practice LIVE with me exclusively on Omstars. Start your journey today with a 7-day trial at omstars.com. Send us a textIn this episode of the Endless Possibilities podcast, Gareth Duignam delves deep into the stages of Samadhi, a crucial aspect of spiritual awakening. He explains the significance of Samadhi as a litmus test for true spiritual awakening, differentiating between the three main stages: Savakalpa, Nirvikalpa, and Sahaja. Gareth also introduces the concept of the Supramental Force and its transformative effects on consciousness and the body, culminating in the experience of Brahman consciousness. The conversation emphasizes the importance of stabilizing in these states and the potential for spiritual seekers to access these energies in the modern age.Samadhi is the gold standard in spiritual awakening.Savakalpa Samadhi is the first serious taste of the real thing.Nirvikalpa Samadhi involves the dissolution of the observer.Sahaja Samadhi is the natural, spontaneous state of being. The supramental force transforms life and consciousness.Brahman consciousness is the recognition of the oneness of all.The journey through these stages can be deeply personal and unique.Stabilizing in Samadhi is essential for true awakening.Modern technology allows more access to spiritual energies. The invitation is to keep exploring and deepening your practice.

Samādhi is the Sanskrit word for a state of peaceful, integrated absorption the mind can reach through meditation. And people's faces in meditation have been a source of fascination (and distraction) for documentary filmmaker Hartley Woolf since he began his own Buddhist practice. “I can't help but enjoy taking in all the different expressions around me in the shrine room,” he says, “and wondering what's going on inside the mind behind.” Join us for a delightful conversation between an artist and some of his subjects (Bhadra, Eugene Furniss and Maitrijyoti) as we explore the beautiful intimacy of this unique art project. In the most mindful way, Hartley sets out to capture something of the mystery of meditation, expressed in the faces of a diverse set of humans trying to be present with their experience. The result is an extraordinary book of portrait photography and we are privileged to hear reflections after the fact from some of those sitting and from the artist himself. Self-consciousness and self-perception, what we look for in people's faces and expressions, the vulnerability of meditating with others and of being witnessed – this conversation flows, you might say, like the breath, opening into a space of genuine shared gratitude for a memorable shared experience of sitting in stillness, and being in relationship. Produced and presented by Candradasa, edited by Zac Pomphrey and Candradasa *** "When I began this project, it was simply about capturing the subtlety of human facial expression. It quickly became about much more than that, however: my emotional connection to the sitter in that moment; the impact the lights, camera and my presence had on their meditation; the very act of watching for those subtle changes and deciding when to press the shutter. All these things became just as interesting—if not more so. I saw all kinds of emotions play out on my sitters' faces. They may not have all reached such advanced states as samādhi, but I did see a lot of vulnerability, pleasure, discomfort, and courage. I'm very grateful to them all for allowing me (and you) into their intimate worlds of practice for a brief moment."

Spirit Rock Meditation Center: dharma talks and meditation instruction
(Spirit Rock Meditation Center) We review the nature of samadhi, how it is a natural quality that surfaces in many human experiences, and its importance in meditation (and the teachings of the Buddha). We briefly examine the five jhanic factors that point to how samadhi deepens. We also look at several of the main challenges that arise as we practice to develop samadhi.

Faith comes from the heart or from the divine and thinking comes rather more from the devil…Beyond thinking, there is love, God, Tao, eternity, bliss, Samadhi, Satori, ...If our mind is going in doubt or negative thinking, we apply positive thinking. That is like a pendulum for thinking… you give with positive thinking the pendulum the power to travel to the opposite side - to the negative side.Instead, to feel the negativity or doubts. The remedy for doubts is to develop faith, real understanding, and genuine love that includes everything,If we get a problem, we get also the energy to overcome that problem…But if we go in thinking we lose our momentum and our energy to solve that problem…Instead, just to do it..!!! Discussing will never help. Do It! Ignore your negative thinking and don't suppress it…Don't give energy your negative thinking. If you fight with positive thinking, you give your negativity energy.Bible: don't fight against the wicked…Watch your negativity and don't fight against your negativity. The same is true if somebody is abusing you, - don't respond…Let him abuse you… Don't give energy to this… don't lose your energy… For instance…I liked to have more fun. Instead, to go with some friends skiing I went with the Bremer University Skying group…We skied down an easy piste and then the Bremer ski instructors stopped and could not find an simple way down… So they were discussing the best opportunities even there were only a choice between two pistes and they could not know what was the easiest piste. After a quarter of an hour, I asked the other waiting students if they like to follow me, and let the ski instructors talk… Half of the group followed me … After some time, the ski instructor with the other part of the group did the same…The ski instructor abused me. How I could dare… Again arguing for nothing… Then the group wanted me as a ski instructor… They solved the problem … I took the very beginners and the most advanced in two disparate groups. Faith is when you know only the first step or steps from your journey and start without knowing more… And so you live in the “here and now” and so you can decide at best! My Video: You can't substitute faith with positive thinking. https://youtu.be/wgwCLfNAvlkMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast1/You-can't-substitute-faith-with-positive-thinking..mp3

For most spiritual schools are important to grow your spirituality, be it the Kundalini or that you open your heart, third eye, and crone chakra…And for that we need energy! Our whole body needs his energy to stay healthy and for sexuality…. If we use our sexual energy for our spirituality then everything would be easy. Because our body uses 1/3 of his energy just only for sex…We can even use our sexual energy to heal our spine or growing our brain… We hear from our spiritual gurus that sex is bad…And I absolutely agree to a certain level, so it would be much better if the guru's parents had avoided making sex to create such a creature (Guru) that is denying sex!!! If you deny, abuse, or think negatively about sex or afraid of sex, then your first chakra or the chakra that is responsible for the sex is blocked… So that you can't use your sexual energy for your spirituality or even worse you will attract diseases that are related to sex. Monks and Nuns have 2 times more prostate cancer or breast cancer than normal beings!!!!!!Let look at how sex energy is causing a Samadhi! When a baby sucks the mother milk, it goes in a Samadhi when the mother is loving and gives the baby the time that it needs to suck the milk in a calm way… How does the baby make that? The Taoist found out: When the baby sucks the milk, it squeezes the vagina muscles or it pulls up the testicles without squeezing the anus… At the same time, it pulls up the energy from the lowest chakra to the crone chakra. And then it needs to breathe out and breathe in and breath out… In this time it squeezes the tongue against the roof of the mouth and it relaxes the muscles of the vagina or testicles… Maybe, we have done it before… Today, the Taoists are doing the same thing … They just imagine to suck milk and when breathing in they contract these muscles and by breathing out they put the tongue against roof of the mouth and relax these muscles… After the Qigong and the Yoga system, we have a gate of death/hell, where the spirit/soul leaves our body when the body dies… And this gate of death is located at the lowest point of our body this means the vagina or the bone-cave between the testicles and the anus… And this Gate (related to the huh sound) has energetically a direct connection to the crone chakra… The next important Energy-point (related to the Ohm sound) is at the end of the vagina (uterus mouth)… Both points are crucial for the Kundalini or for spiritual energy… If we do have an energy-block in this area, the energy can not be used for healing, spirituality and even will cause severe diseases… For the females is sex in any case good! Because a normal woman feels love when she has intercourse with her darling… this means she pulls up the energy from her lowest chakra to her heart chakra… And she gets the male energy for free! Even better if the clitoris is stimulated all of her organs will be energized … Never the less, the females lose all of their sexual energy, during their periods. For the males is a certain amount of sex good. The males lose their energy when they ejaculate… And too many ejaculations leads to severe diseases (aids, immune weakness) and premature aging. Never the less the males can learn Tao-love or the sexual Tantra to even enjoy more the sex without too many ejaculations…If the males reduce the number of ejaculations to 50% everything will work out good. How we can get the energy upwards…1.) Make the Kundalini meditation from Osho15 minutes shake the body from the pelvic on… this means the pelvic should go forward and backward (similar to intercourse). 15 minutes dance in ecstasy.15 minutes sit relaxed with the spine straight without moving.15 minutes sit or lay down on the back without moving… With sounds Huh, ohm, ha, iStart with the ‘Huh' sound (like school) (from the lowest point of the body) then the Ohm sound below the navel in the middle of the body (uterus mouth) then the ‘Ha' or ‘A' sound (like Allah) in your heart chakra and the I sound (like India) for the crone and third eye chakra… If you would sing gospels like the Africans you will gain the same… You sing always from the area of the vagina and if you long for God then your energy will raise from the lowest chakra to the crone chakra… My Video: How can gurus be an obstacle? https://youtu.be/Pkn7hnVTAJoMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast1/how-can-gurus-be-an-obstacle.mp3

Next Level Soul with Alex Ferrari: A Spirituality & Personal Growth Podcast
Alex Ferrari interviews Yogiraj SatGurunath Siddhanath, discussing his spiritual journey and teachings. Yogiraj emphasizes the importance of balancing family life with spiritual practice, advocating for householder yogis. He explains the concept of Samadhi, a thought-free state of tranquil awareness, and describes his enlightenment journey since childhood. Yogiraj discusses the upcoming Satya Yuga, predicted for 2032, and the role of the Kalki avatar. He also addresses the balance between free will and destiny, the power of silence, and the significance of Kriya Yoga in spiritual transformation. The conversation explores the concept of karma, the law of cause and effect, and its impact on individuals' lives. Yogiraj explains that actions in past lives determine present outcomes, using the analogy of a crochet's front and back to illustrate this. He discusses the role of enlightened beings in dissolving not only their own karma but also that of others. The discussion also touches on the difference between psychic experiences from psychedelics and true spiritual Samadhi, emphasizing that the latter transcends the mind. Yogiraj concludes by encouraging sensitivity and presence, suggesting that true fulfillment is achieved through unity with the divine.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.

This episode of The Kriya Yoga Podcast is an excerpt from a talk given by Kriya Yoga Teacher Ryan Kurczak during the 2025 Kriya Yoga Online Solstice Retreat. The Discussion includes: Supportive Techniques from Chapter I: Sutras I.33–I.39 Patanjali offers auxiliary methods to stabilize the mind in Sutras I.33–I.39, forming a meditative ladder: I.33 – Cultivating attitudes of friendliness (toward the happy), compassion (toward the suffering), joy (toward the virtuous), and equanimity (toward the non-virtuous). I.34 – Focusing on the exhalation and natural pause of breath. I.35 – Meditating on subtle sensory experiences (such as inner energy or warmth). I.36 – Contemplating a state free from sorrow and full of inner light. I.37 – Meditating on the consciousness of one who is spiritually free. I.38 – Contemplating dream and deep sleep states. I.39 – Meditating on any object suitable to one's disposition. These are not arbitrary suggestions, but a progressive structure. For example, I.33 helps remove emotional and psychological obstacles; I.34–I.35 deepen bodily and energetic awareness; I.36–I.37 open the door to spiritual radiance and guru consciousness; I.38–I.39 reflect the ultimate flexibility and maturity of the practitioner. The Goal of Samadhi and Spiritual Evolution The culmination of sustained meditative practice is Samadhi, described not as an escape from the world but as union with reality. The deeper forms of samadhi signify the dissolution of ego and personal identity, allowing pure consciousness to shine through. As described in Sutra IV.33–IV.34, transformation is a transmutation of form, as the field of consciousness evolves from gross (human) to subtle (divine). This spiritual evolution requires the practitioner to surrender personal likes, dislikes, and egoic narratives—attaining Vairagya (detachment) and Abhyasa (consistent practice), referenced in Sutra I.12. -

(Insight Meditation Society - Retreat Center) An exploration of Samadhi and its role on the overall path of Liberation
This episode of The Kriya Yoga Podcast, When You Know Samadhi explores the philosophical and practical aspects of meditation within the framework of Kriya Yoga and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The main topics include: The Purpose of Meditation Meditation is presented not as a relaxation technique but as a means to access one's true, timeless essence. The goal is the cessation of mental fluctuations to recognize the stillness and fullness at the core of being. Commitment to Practice The importance of long-term dedication is emphasized. Students are encouraged to remain engaged with the practices over time, as deep realization requires persistent application rather than brief exposure. Letting Go of the Ego True yoga involves dissolving the ego—the "personage" that clings to identity and personality. The path is one of surrender and relinquishment of attachments to fully experience spiritual freedom. Outer and Inner Limbs of Yoga The essay delineates between the outer practices (yamas, niyamas, asana, pranayama, pratyahara) and the inner practices (dharana, dhyana, samadhi). Mastery of the outer limbs is seen as foundational for accessing the inner experiences. The Mechanics of Meditation Meditation (dhyana) is defined as uninterrupted focus on a single object. This focus must be maintained for 12 breaths to be considered meditation, and 144 breaths to reach samadhi. These thresholds offer a concrete structure for understanding meditative depth. Modern Distractions and Spiritual Focus The essay criticizes modern distractions like social media and “spiritual doom scrolling.” Instead, it advocates for focused, authentic engagement with traditional texts and practices to cultivate concentration and spiritual discipline. Spiritual Transformation and Evolution Spiritual growth is described as a transformation akin to evolution—from human to divine being (deva). This requires pouring the energy and habits of the old self into a new, higher mode of being. One-Pointedness and Daily Practice One-pointed focus (ekagrata) is vital not only in meditation but in daily activities. Practicing concentrated awareness throughout life enhances the capacity for deeper meditation.

Today returning on Sense of Soul we have Padma Aon Prakasha he is an evolutionary catalyst and wisdom author bringing together ancient wisdom and modern science. Padma's books, music and multimedia are drawn from the traditions he has been initiated into. His books include: The Power of Shakti, Womb Wisdom, Sacred Relationships (Inner Traditions), The Christ Blueprint, The Nine Eyes of Light: Ascension Keys from Egypt (NAB/Random House), Dimensions of Love, Shiva's Hologram: The Maheshwara Sutra and The Science of Sound (O Books). Since 1997 he has presented, lectured and taught in 20 countries worldwide. After being initiated into the Brahmin lineage at age 4, he read the Bhagavad Gita followed by the Bible at age 7 and a whole host of spiritual teachings by age 11. When he was 21 he had an experience of the AUM and God Consciousness that changed his life forever, followed by a direct and unexpected meeting with Christ Yeshua. Shortly after this, Padma was initiated in India through a Near Death Experience in Badrinath by Master Babaji, and into the Saivite Lineage in Kedarnath. Further Initiations into Saivite Tantra and the RK Veda through the Arunachala Sampradaya and Ganesha followed. Padma was also Initiated into Tibetan Tantras through female teachers Prem Prabhuta and Margot Anand, and is an Initiate in the Order of Melchizedek. Padma's most powerful ‘formal' Initiations came through Sri Om, an Awakened teacher in London from the Lineage of Buddha Maitreya, associated with the enlightened wisdom of many traditions. After this, Padma sat in Samadhi, the highest form of bliss meditation, for two months, 16 hours a day. Samadhi activates the pineal gland and many dormant gifts within us, which Padma then demonstrated through his numerous books, workshops and transmissions over the ensuing years. https://padmaaon.com Visit www.senseofsoulpodcast.com
