Buddhism and Bhaktivedanta share a lot of common ground. Both embrace the same radical insight — that the mind is the architect of our experience, and that what we feed it determines the life we live. But in this episode Raghunath and Kaustubha explore where Bhakti takes it one step further. Buddhism negates the names and forms of matter, freeing the mind from attachment, pointing toward liberation. Bhakti provides the positive side. Not just improved wellbeing. Not just liberation. The prema prayojana — the full awakening of divine love. The Srimad Bhagavatam shows us what that looks like through the gopis – always focused on the meditation's highest object. When they hear Krishna's flute they leave everything behind and refuse all callings to turn back. Life is kind of empty if there is not something so meaningful and beautiful that we feel a calling to give everything out of love. We spend our lives looking for that higher cause — or feeling empty if we haven't found it. The total giving of the self is what Thomas Merton calls a blind spiritual instinct. And when you actually follow it, people may think you've gone crazy. Raghunath and Kaustubha explore that calling alongside Krishna's flute-song call of love to the gopis, instigating a "terrible act of thievery" by stealing their sobriety, shyness, fear and discrimination. Through this pastime the Bhaktivedanta tradition shares one of its most radical teachings — that true renunciation can only be the result of pure love, and that renunciation is artificial if it is not a derivative of such devotional love. Most people think of God simply as a witness or facilitator of their own romantic affairs. The Bhaktivedanta tradition reveals that the conjugal love experienced by human beings is a mere reflection of a spiritual reality in which the same love exists in an absolute, pristine state. So we don't need to turn away from beauty and love in this world. We just need to see the source and origin behind it. Raghunath and Kaustubha explore Plato's ladder of beauty alongside the bhakti path — and find they are pointing in the same direction. Every spark of beauty in this world springs from the same source. Use it as a stepping stone, not a dead end. And at the top of that ladder, the Srimad Bhagavatam opens the most sacred passage in all of Vedic literature — the Rāsa Līlā. Krishna, lacking nothing, takes shelter of his own internal potency and enters the most intimate of all loving affairs. The unconquerable is conquered by love. I would like to offer this class to my very dear friend and Godbrother, Caru Dāsa Prabhu, who is one of the great pioneers of the saṅkīrtana movement. I always told him that if he wasn't doing what he was doing—spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness in such innovative ways—he should have been the president of the country. He always reminded me of a president or a very highly placed senator; he was astoundingly articulate. Just listening to him was always a feast for the ears. He started a radio station way before social media or mass communication was available. When people were still sending snail mail, he had a bustling radio station where he was regularly putting out Kṛṣṇa Conscious information. He went off to Utah—it's a Mormon state—and made friends with all the Mormons. They love him there; everybody likes him wherever he goes. He started beautiful temples that his wife, Vaibhavī, designed herself. Both of them are highly skilled. Anyway, I've been really conflicted because, hearing that he passed—I guess we heard about it on Tuesday night. On one side, I can just see the momentum he had in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Externally, I didn't lament at all because I thought, "Well, of course, he was about 80 years old, and he just stepped out, moved on and obviously, he had a completely successful life from my perspective and the way I saw Prabhupāda talk about Jayānanda Prabhu, who passed away just before Prabhupāda." So, we had some vision about how Prabhupāda would observe devotees leaving the world, and he wrote about it. On the other side, I noticed I've been mourning very deeply. There is psychological adjustment for me happened after Badrīnārāyaṇa Mahārāja left, and after Caru Prabhu left. I've been having really intense dreams. I realized that after Badrīnārāyaṇa Mahārāja left, I was imagining what it would be like to have died. I actually put myself in the position of: 'Okay, I already passed away and I came back into the life I'm in now, and I'm watching myself.' I could just feel that it was a mourning process. It's one of the hardest things to cope with, and that is the loss of God siblings. We lose mothers, fathers, and so forth, but many of us—at least for me—I have known my Godbrothers and Godsisters longer than I knew my parents for. It is the hardest thing, but it's also part of the maturing process in Krishna consciousness to lose parents and loved ones, and then cope, tolerate, and be observant of how Krishna tells us to process such things, and watch how Prabhupāda did it also. Then, of course, when you start losing beloved Godbrothers, reality shifts. Once again, there's another way of processing everything; taking shelter of the Holy Name and the śāstra becomes more urgent. It's always urgent, but it seems more urgent in those cases. Before Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura departed for the spiritual world, he stayed in this place where he was engaged in bhajana. Nearby here is the area where Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu chased after the sand dune, considering it to be Govardhana Hill—a very sacred place here in Jagannātha Purī. Two weeks before he left, his disciple, A.C. Bhaktivedanta, had written him a letter as a householder and asked, "What can I do for your mission?" Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura asked him to preach in English. He had also told him previously, and reconfirmed: "You should print books." In fact, he said at Rādhā-kuṇḍa, "If you ever get money, print books." Our Founder-Ācārya of ISKCON, Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, followed those instructions with his heart, mind, and soul. To that end, he published hundreds of books that were distributed in the millions; and even today, we are increasing that number all over the world. For Bhādra Pūrṇimā 2026—the great festival that is now taken up by devotees on every continent of the world—we, in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, have the solemn goal to distribute at least 108,000 Śrīmad-Bhāgavatams in the next several months leading up to the day of Bhādra. The full moon day, during which the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam itself says that the giving away of a Bhāgavatam on that lunar celebration qualifies one to go back home, back to Godhead. We pray to Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, who instructed his dear disciple to spread this all over the world, that we may help by following the footsteps of Śrīla Prabhupāda. May we smash this goal together all over the world, uniting around the principle of spreading Krishna consciousness to all the poor people of the world who have no idea that the goal of life is to go back home, back to Godhead. Please, let us help them. Let us distribute the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam: 108,000 sets. Please go out and do as many as you can! ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #pilgrimageoftheheart #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Magic happens in the last place you'd expect it: a Mumbai hospital where patients don't want to be discharged and staff don't want to go home. Recorded live from Govardhan Eco Village, Raghunath welcomes author Radha Bhakti to unpack the astonishing culture of Bhaktivedanta Hospital on Mira Road—an all-faith, all-heart care facility built on a radical idea: treat the body, mind, and soul… and put people over profits. What started with four idealistic medical students serving Mumbai's slums has grown into a 300-bed integrative hospital where kirtan can be heard in the stairwells, spiritual care teams befriend patients as their "job," and even end-of-life care includes the kind of emotional closure most of us don't realize we're missing until it's too late. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? How does desire for Krishna arise, Bhaktivedanta Manor, London, Bhagavatam 3.13.39 Chaitanya Charan by Exploring mindfulness, yoga and spirituality
Cc Madhya 24.100-166 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/24/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ The charter of this Āshram, the Bhaktivedanta Āśrama, was to create a space so that those who are out mixing it up in the world all the time could have a place to come and have Saṅga together here and repair to this place so they could just hear and chant the association of advanced devotees. I'm sitting next to Vijay; I'm sitting next to Naveena Nīrada, Devavrata. We've got Mahendra—I mean, surrounded! Look around you. That's what this place is meant for. And that's why we made plans to come here and spend time. So, yes, we should take time. If we're always preaching to one in one area, yukta-āhāra-vihārasya, we should be balanced and find out times to retreat, to go into deep mode, which we are doing. We are reading Prabhupāda's books. What could be better, better association than that? We're just hearing directly from Prabhupāda what he wanted to say to everybody, especially us. Ao we're getting that. And when we go back out, the world won't look the same. I guarantee you, if you walk out of here on the 18th and you look around, you go, "Blink, blink, where am I? Maybe I took too much of this stuff," and then you'll be ready to integrate again. So, yeah, it's a good point. We should always try to find advanced association, and this is how to do it. Have some arrangement ahead of time. How does one truly enter a spiritual path—beyond the ritual and formality? It's not about externals—it's about what's alive in the heart. In this eye-opening episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore the deeper dimensions of spiritual life, focusing especially on the heart-to-heart transmission of spiritual knowledge, realization, and conviction. Through the lens of Krishna's miraculous appearance in the womb of Devakī—and some fascinating Bhaktivedanta commentaries—they unpack the true meaning of initiation on the bhakti path: not as a mere ceremony, but as the sacred connection when divine consciousness is awakened in the heart of a seeker. Listen in as they discuss: • How Krishna consciousness transforms any place into a sacred space • The deeper meaning of initiation beyond ritual • Why seeing God only in temples—but not in others' hearts—misses the point • The mystical transmission from Vasudeva to Devakī • Embodying scripture vs. just quoting it This episode is a call to go deeper—beyond external forms, into the heart of spiritual transformation. When Caitanya Mahāprabhu asked, "What is the most unbearable pain in this world?" He said, "The most unbearable pain in this world is separation from the Vaiṣṇava." There's nothing more severe than that, which indicates that the way that one finds this thread of connection is to become very deeply attached to a Vaiṣṇava. The way to become most definitely connected is through service necessity. The service is passed down through the disciplic succession. If one can find a Vaiṣṇava who's fully engaged in service, having had that bequeath to him or her, and then one is able to take that same service mood, then one also, even more readily, becomes attached to Kṛṣṇa through that service from the Vaiṣṇavas. And we find the same taste and association with the Vaiṣṇavas when we're able to associate and serve Vaiṣṇavas. Prabhupāda writes in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā, first chapter, that in the absence of one's spiritual master, one should take the instruction of the spiritual master as one's life and soul; even if there's some physical separation, one never feels separated. I had experienced this when Prabhupāda left the world, and I was in New York at the time, at 340 West 55th. And every day, I was going to LaGuardia Airport with my godbrother Praghoṣa. As we heard the news that Prabhupāda left there in the temple, we stayed up all night chanting, and there was a feast the next morning. Everyone was emotionally and physically exhausted, but Praghoṣa came to get me, and he said, "Of all days, today we have to go out and do our service." And we got in our station wagon, and we drove to LaGuardia Airport rather dazed. As I went up the escalator to approach the place I usually would distribute books, I felt disconnected from the world. But as soon as I stepped on that little area where I was supposed to stand every day going to the airport, I suddenly felt this acute sense of connection to Prabhupāda that I had not felt so acutely throughout my devotional life. Because I put my foot on the floor, there was a sense of spiritual electricity coming through, and a revelation that you'll never be separated, because that service is there. And through our service, we can actually take the power of Kṛṣṇa's presence. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #service #caitanyacaritamrita #caitanya #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
