This episode we explore Krishna subduing Kaliya from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam - where the Yamuna is poisoned and Krishna enters it directly to purify it from within. We reflect on what “inner poison” looks like in modern life - ego, envy, habits, and conditioning - and how real transformation isn't about avoidance, but conscious confrontation with grace.Through stories, philosophy, and reflection, we discuss how Krishna's response shows that divine love doesn't stay distant from chaos - it enters it, transforms it, and restores it.A conversation on bhakti, humility, inner change, and learning to see life's challenges as purification rather than punishment.4:34 – Facing impurity directly (not running from it)6:37 – Inner conditioning, karma, and how habits deepen9:09 – “Piercing the layer of oil” - going to the root of inner issues13:32 – Envy & the necessity of humility15:47 – Surrender and transformation, not destruction17:16 – The kindness of Krishna in purificationWant to connect further?Instagram: www.instagram.com/radhika_dasa/Facebook: www.facebook.com/radhikadasmusicYouTube: www.youtube.com/c/RadhikaDasWebsite: www.radhikadas.comPatreon: www.patreon.com/radhikadasLinktree: linktr.ee/radhika_dasa

Ego or bhakti - which one is really guiding our actions? In this episode of For Soul's Sake, we explore a subtle but powerful question: What truly pleases Krishna? Is it achievement, recognition, and being “the best”? Or is it something deeper - like humility, sincerity, and cooperation?Drawing from the timeless wisdom of the Srimad Bhagavatam and the teachings of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, this episode reflects on the story of Prthu Maharaja and Indra - a powerful contrast between ego-driven competition and devotion-centered cooperation. This is an invitation to reflect deeply:Where can you choose cooperation over competition?Where can you let go of ego for a higher purpose?Want to connect further?Instagram: www.instagram.com/radhika_dasa/Facebook: www.facebook.com/radhikadasmusicYouTube: www.youtube.com/c/RadhikaDasWebsite: www.radhikadas.comPatreon: www.patreon.com/radhikadasLinktree: linktr.ee/radhika_dasa

This podcast episode explores divine mercy, compassion, and transformation through Lord Chaitanya's teachings and the story of two sinful brothers, Jagai and Madhai. We challenge the notion that love must be earned, emphasising that divine love is unconditional and independent of human merit. Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, Chaitanya Bhagavata, personal experiences, and recovery programs, we illustrate how sincere surrender enables profound redemption. The discussion highlights compassion as genuine strength, encourages meeting hatred with mercy, and affirms that no one is beyond transformation through authentic repentance and God's boundless grace.(00:01) - Unconditional Divine Love(07:54) - Compassion as Strength, Not Weakness(12:53) - Justice Interrupted by Compassion(13:57) - Meeting Hatred with Mercy(20:06) - Practical Compassion and Support(22:33) - Redemption Through Surrender(26:08) - Sincere Repentance and Accountability(29:11) - Transformation Through SincerityWant to connect further?Instagram: www.instagram.com/radhika_dasa/Facebook: www.facebook.com/radhikadasmusicYouTube: www.youtube.com/c/RadhikaDasWebsite: www.radhikadas.comPatreon: www.patreon.com/radhikadasLinktree: linktr.ee/radhika_dasa
Tonight, the second episode of Hacks Season 5 comes out and with it, we are one step closer to the bittersweet end of a delightful show that has been running since pandemic times. In this episode Deborah Vance and the cast headed to New York City and for The Run-Through episode, the real Deborah—Jean Smart—sat down with Chloe in the studio to talk about what it's been like to be Deborah for five seasons and what comes next.“I definitely feel more like her. Or, she feels more like me,” Smart said of her character, “I mean, we look a lot alike.” She also alluded to the sarcastic sense of humor which she and Deborah both possess. As for where they differ, Smart noted that she doesn't grapple with the same anger, bitterness, and distrust that fuels many of Deborah's choices. “That's sort of been her fuel for many, many years and I think she starts to learn to give that up this season,” Smart observed.Smart will miss a lot of aspects of Hacks, not least of which are Deborah's vast and fabulous wardrobe and her tastefully designed home. “I'm a little bit of a pack rat,” Jean confessed in regards to saving clothes from over the years, though she doesn't have nearly the level of organization that exists within Debroah's wardrobe warehouse, which we glimpsed in Season 4. She was hesitant to speak on whether she took any of the clothes from set but she proudly declared that she took the drapes from Deborah's home. “And I would do it again. There! I said it!”Of course, besides the clothes, Smart is certainly going to miss working with Hannah Einbinder who she deeply admires. She also credited her with broadening her understanding of Gen-Z. “I'm definitely more woke after meeting Ms. Einbinder.” Smart isAlso on today's episode Chioma was joined by British Vogue's Radhika Seth to talk about the BV goings on. Today the Charli XCX cover is out, as is Radhika's story with the leads of Apple TV's Margo's Got Money Troubles, Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer. Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In today's episode, we're talking about how to remove your procrastination blocks so you can start accomplishing your goals.Radhika Achari lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and their two kids (4.5 years old & 3 years old). Parenthood has been a dream come true and has taken planning/logistics to a new level of complexity. She is working on being more innovative with her time to juggle her professional and personal aspirations while maintaining healthy habits and relationships. She is a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) specializing in Early Intervention & neurological disorders. She has been utilizing the principles and evidence-based practices of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) on children with developmental disabilities for the past 11 years. She was overjoyed to discover her niche as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in a field that combined her talents and intuition for creative thinking, working with children, providing parent training, collaborating with teachers/therapists, and teaching the community. She has also worked with neurotypical children and children with genetic disorders and comorbidities. From a leadership perspective, she explored public speaking and gave talks on the neuroanatomy of autism and encouraging neurodevelopment in infants and toddlers. She loves teaching all ages. During the pandemic, she began as the Director of Behavioral Services. She started to work with teens and adults with comorbidities (specifically neurological disorders) to provide interdisciplinary behavioral support and remote therapy for the clients and parents. Families with a child with developmental and neurological disorders experience parental burnout to the point where closer to 70% of the marriages dissolve. Parents lose their identity and control over the situation when they focus strictly on the parent-child relationship rather than on their own well-being. As she sees this with most of her clients, she is trying to launch her own growth-mindset consulting company as a side hustle to provide additional parent and relationship coaching. Given the nature of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, her clinical cases have shifted to focus on parent training, specifically alleviating parental burnout. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master's in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University, with a focus on cognition and creativity. This episode launches a new series on Grandmotherness, exploring what this stage of life reveals about how we lead, relate, and show up for others. In this first conversation, Julia speaks with Radhika about the unexpected ways grandmotherness shapes leading — not through authority, but through presence, care, and quiet influence.Radhika reflects on the deep responsibility that comes with being a grandmother. What you say matters. What you do is watched. And even the smallest interactions can stay with a child for decades. This awareness, she explains, changes how you show up — not just with grandchildren, but with everyone around you.The conversation explores the importance of making time, not just finding it. Whether it is a weekly ritual with grandchildren or regular space for conversations at work, consistency creates trust and connection. Radhika shares how routines — simple, repeated acts of presence — become anchors in both family and professional life. They also reflect on the power of sharing joy and humanity. From music to everyday moments, revealing what you love helps break down barriers mand creates connection. People respond not just to what you do, but to who you are.A powerful theme throughout the episode is knowing when to step back. Grandmotherness is not about taking over, but about helping others find their own way — offering guidance without control, and trusting others to lead in their own style. Finally, Radhika speaks about the role of connecting people to something larger than themselves — to heritage, values, and the stories that shape identity. In doing so, she reminds us that leading is not only about the present, but about carrying forward what matters. This episode is a reminder that grandmotherness is not a soft or secondary role. It is a powerful way of leading — grounded in time, trust, restraint, and deep human connection.About the GuestAn educator by profession and involved in international education for almost four decades, Radhika Lee founded Nairobi International School in September of 2008 as the first E-school in East Africa. We're delighted to welcome Radhika Dutt, product leader, founder, and author of Radical Product Thinking, for a deep dive into her newest work: the OHLA (formerly OHL) Toolkit. In this episode, Radhika joins Matt and Moshe to challenge how product teams set goals, measure progress, and use frameworks, proposing a puzzle‑driven alternative to traditional OKRs and “framework-following” culture.Drawing from her journey from electrical engineering and startups at MIT, through painful “product diseases” like Hero Syndrome and Obsessive Sales Disorder, Radhika shares why recipes and templates alone don't create real progress. Instead, she introduces OHLA as a lightweight but powerful way to cultivate a Jedi mindset, one that keeps teams grounded in first principles, context, and learning rather than chasing vanity metrics and rigid targets.Join Matt, Moshe, and Radhika as they explore:Radhika's path from engineering and founding to Radical Product Thinking and now the OHLA ToolkitWhy classic goal‑setting and OKRs often backfire, creating “alibi progress,” outdated goals, and incentives to hide bad newsOHLA in practice:Observe – what's really happening in your product, team, or marketHypothesize – what might explain it and how you'll test those ideasLearn – what the results actually tell youAdapt – how you'll change course based on evidence“Puzzle setting” vs goal setting: defining puzzles with Observation, Open Questions, and an Objective summary to stay longer in the problem spaceHow OHLA complements design thinking by forcing teams to remain curious and uncomfortable before jumping into solutionsPractical stories, from maritime platforms to enterprise teams, where puzzle thinking led to very different solutions than OKR‑driven targetsHow managers can shift conversations from “Did we hit the number?” to “How well did it work? Radhika Desai, professor of Political Studies and director of the Geopolitical Economy Research Group at the University of Manitoba, brings her historical materialist framework to bear on what she calls the “senile” or “moribund phase” of capitalism—marked by deindustrialisation, financialisation, speculative necromancy, ecological destruction, a precipitous decline in political leadership quality, and the imperial wars now ravaging Venezuela, Cuba and Iran. Desai traces the arc from Karl Marx's monopoly phase thesis through the post-war golden age, the neoliberal turn and its miserly, punitive politics towards working people, to the present moment in which the US-Israeli war on Iran is accelerating the collapse of dollar hegemony and the everything bubble. She connects cultural neoliberalism—identity politics, DEI, pronoun politics—to a deliberate corporate strategy for generating a patina of progressivism while delivering nothing material to working people, with the professional managerial class administering this hypocritical regime. Desai addresses the BRICS question with characteristic nuance, distinguishing between countries that have genuinely rejected neoliberalism and those, like Modi's India, whose multipolar rhetoric conceals a servile comprador relationship with Washington. Her analysis of the everything bubble, the Triffin dilemma and Iran-driven inflation carries a stark warning—when interest rates rise far enough to contain the oil shock, the dollar system will come down with them. 4th Mar 2026In this Satsang, Sanjay discussed the importance of understanding one's true nature beyond name and form. He emphasized that identifying with the body-mind complex leads to suffering and karma, while awareness of our true self as pure consciousness brings freedom. He shared a moving story of a child who connected with a tree at a young age, experiencing profound spiritual insights without formal practice. The discussion included Jonas's observation that having a picture of Bhagavan on his wall deepened his spiritual practice, and Radhika's question about balancing caring for family members with her spiritual understanding. Sanjay advised Radhika to focus on her own spiritual path and practice acceptance, suggesting that her example might influence others more than direct teaching. The conversation ended with Sanjay emphasizing the purity of awareness and the importance of understanding that all experiences arise from thoughts. These are teachings and pointers from ongoing NDA(Non-duality awareness)/Advaitic Satsangs held at Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Just as a cloud pours water on a forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master delivers the materially afflicted world by extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities. 2) Chanting the holy name, dancing in ecstasy, singing, and playing musical instruments, the spiritual master is always gladdened by the sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Because he is relishing the mellows of pure devotion within his mind, sometimes his hair stands on end, he feels quivering in his body, and tears flow from his eyes like waves. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 3) The spiritual master is always engaged in the temple worship of Sri Sri Radha and Krsna. He also engages his disciples in such worship. They dress the Deities in beautiful clothes and ornaments, clean Their temple, and perform other similar worship of the Lord. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 4) The spiritual master is always offering Krsna four kinds of delicious food [analyzed as that which is licked, chewed, drunk, and sucked]. When the spiritual master sees that the devotees are satisfied by eating bhagavat-prasada, he is satisfied. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 5) The spiritual master is always eager to hear and chant about the unlimited conjugal pastimes of Radhika and Madhava, and Their qualities, names, and forms. The spiritual master aspires to relish these at every moment. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 6) The spiritual master is very dear, because he is expert in assisting the gopis, who at different times make different tasteful arrangements for the perfection of Radha and Krsna's conjugal loving affairs within the groves of Vrndavana. I offer my most humble obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 7) The spiritual master is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord, because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord. This is acknowledged in all revealed scriptures and followed by all authorities. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is a bona fide representative of Sri Hari [Krsna]. 8) By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krsna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master.

In this episode, Jeff Mains sits down with Radhika Dutt, author of Radical Product Thinking, to challenge the conventional wisdom around goal-setting, KPIs, and OKRs. Radhika reveals why chasing metrics can actually distort behavior and undermine long-term growth, introducing a powerful alternative: treating growth like a puzzle rather than a scorecard. The conversation explores how well-intentioned targets create perverse incentives, why measures should be tools for insight rather than evaluation, and how a curiosity-driven approach—using the OHLA framework (Observe, Hypothesize, Learn, Adapt)—helps teams make smarter decisions in real-world conditions. Radhika shares compelling examples from OpenAI, maritime SaaS platforms, and robotics companies to illustrate how puzzle-solving beats goal-setting for sustainable growth.Whether you're drowning in dashboards or hitting targets while feeling like something's off, this episode offers a refreshing lens on progress, leadership, and building momentum without the performance theater.Key Takeaways[0:00] - Episode introduction and overview of why goal-setting may be backfiring[4:48] - The fundamental problem with KPIs and OKRs: Goodhart's Law and Campbell's Law explained[6:28] - Dutt's Law: "A measure is only useful as a tool for insight, not a yardstick for evaluation"[7:16] - Real-world example: How OpenAI's user engagement targets led to dangerous "sycophantic AI"[10:37] - The hidden dangers of hitting targets while ignoring negative indicators[11:44] - Introduction to puzzle-setting vs. goal-setting mindset[12:09] - The OHLA framework explained: Observe, Hypothesize, Learn, Adapt[17:51] - Case study: Why improving filters wouldn't have solved the real problem[28:47] - The performance theater trap: Why jumping to solutions feels comfortable but fails[30:28] - How to get customer meetings when people say "you should already know this"[33:00] - Why in-person observation matters more when mental models differ[36:27] - Growth comes from matching user mental models, not forcing adoption of yours[37:47] - The Tesla UI example: When "cool" design ignores user mental models[37:47] - Top-down vs. bottom-up: How to introduce puzzle-solving in organizations[39:27] - Why leaders fear losing control and how to address it[43:01] - Vision-driven vs. iteration-led: Crafting a detailed, actionable vision statement[45:41] - Example vision statement that tells the whole story without mentioning the product[48:03] - Why detailed visions create ownership better than memorable slogans[50:01] - One mindset shift founders can make this week to reduce performance theaterTweetable Quotes"When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. Hitting every goal should feel like progress. Instead, it often leaves high performers stuck, frustrated, and quietly falling behind. Kendall Berg breaks down why traditional goal setting systems like OKRs and KPIs reward performance optics while hiding the problems leaders actually need to see. In this conversation with Radhika Dutt, author of Radical Product Thinking, Kendall challenges the belief that better metrics lead to better decisions. They unpack why green numbers can create dangerous blind spots, how teams learn to filter bad news, and why leaders become the last to know when strategy is breaking down. The episode introduces a smarter alternative to goal chasing that helps teams surface real issues, think more strategically, and stay aligned as priorities shift. Radhika shares her puzzle setting and puzzle solving framework, a practical way to replace false certainty with curiosity, learning, and iteration. Instead of obsessing over targets, leaders learn how to frame the right questions, invite honest feedback, and guide teams through uncertainty without losing credibility or control. This episode is essential listening for professionals who want to move from execution to influence and lead with clarity in fast changing environments. In this episode, we discuss: Why do OKRs and KPIs hide problems instead of revealing them? How does hitting every goal still lead to stalled career growth? What is the puzzle setting method and how does it replace goal chasing? How can leaders admit uncertainty without losing authority? Thanks for listening to FreshEd. It's rewarding to produce for the thousands of listeners around the world. But it takes a lot of work to make regular episodes. What sustains our effort are voluntary memberships from paying supporters. With me are Christina Kwauk and Radhika Iyengar, who have recently co-edited the book, Curriculum and Learning for Climate Action: Toward an SDG 4.7 Roadmap for Systems Change. They argue that COP26 has been disappointing in terms of education and climate action, and encourage everyone to focus on local action and change. Christina Kwauk is the Research Director at Unbounded Associates and a non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institute. Radhika Iyengar is Director of Education at the Center for Sustainable Development, Earth Institute, Columbia University. All the devotees, due to great ecstasy, repeatedly dance to their hearts content. 3) All the people of the universe become maddened upon entering this intoxicating shower of nectar. Some people cry, some dance and others become fully intoxicated within their minds. 4) Lord Siva, embracing Narada Muni, repeatedly makes loud screams of ecstatic joy, and Lord Brahma, dancing very ecstatically, says, “All of you kindly chant, Haribol! Haribol!” 5) In great happiness the thousand-faced Ananta Sesa chants “Hari! Hari!” By the influence of the transcendental vibration of the holy name, the whole universe becomes ecstatically maddened and everyone tastes the mellows of the holy name. 6) Thakura Bhaktivinoda, the humble servant of the Lord, says, “The holy name of Krishna has fulfilled all my desires by vibrating on everyone's tongue.” Bhaktivinoda therefore prays at the feet of Sri Rupa Goswami that the chanting of harinam may continue like this always.
