“Sometimes the naughty babies would crawl up to the cowshed, catch the tail of a calf and stand up. The calves, being disturbed, would immediately begin running here and there, and the children would be dragged over clay and cow dung. To see this fun, Yashoda and Rohini would call all their neighboring friends, the gopis. Upon seeing these childhood pastimes of Lord Krishna, the gopis would be merged in transcendental bliss. In their enjoyment they would laugh very loudly.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vol 1, Ch 8)

Chandrachud has intervened in the case involving the Isha Yoga Foundation, presided over by spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The Supreme Court has stayed a previous order from the Madras High Court that directed police to investigate criminal cases against the foundation and report on alleged illegal confinement of two women, daughters of a retired professor, who claimed they were being held against their will. During the proceedings, the bench emphasised that allowing police or military forces into such institutions could infringe on religious freedoms stating “you can't let the Army or the police into an institution like this”.Bangladesh's Muhammad Yunus-led government, as per Bangla daily Prothom Alo reported, has ordered five envoys, including its ambassador to India, to relinquish their posts and return to Dhaka immediately. The interim government has recalled its envoys in Brussels, Canberra, Lisbon, New Delhi and the permanent mission to the United Nations in New York. The major diplomatic reshuffle follows the recall of Saida Muna Tasneem, the high commissioner to Britain, who was asked to return in a similar way.A doctor was shot dead in what appears to be a targeted attack at a small nursing home located in Kalindi Kunj in South East Delhi in the early hours today. When the police team arrived at the scene, they found Dr Javed Akhtar, a Unani practitioner, slumped over his desk with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head. The police further added that the Forensic teams from the District Crime Unit and Forensic Science Laboratory at Rohini were called to the scene, and collected evidence for analysis. The ED today summoned cricketer-turned-politician Mohammed Azharuddin in relation to a money laundering case during his tenure as the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association. Sources said that the Congress leader has sought time to appear in front of the agency. As part of a Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) case, the ED is probing alleged financial irregularities in the HCA, for which it conducted searches in November last year. After a day where Israeli and Hezbollah troops clashed at close range in southern Lebanon, Israel bombed central Beirut in the early hours today. The Israel Defence Forces said they had killed 15 Hezbollah members after a strike on a municipality building in Southern Lebanon. Lebanese security officials said three missiles also hit the southern suburb of Dahiyeh in early hours, where Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed last week, and loud explosions were heard. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington DC and India, while calling for “restraint by all concerned and protection of civilians”, advised all its nationals to “avoid all non-essential travel to Iran”. If you've been inundated with people talking about hormone health online, you're not alone… it's definitely a big trend. And in some ways, I am happy it is. As a dietitian, I know how common reproductive issues like endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are and I also know how little we talk about them. But there is another side to this hormone health trend, one that is a little less helpful. Like the misinformation about how soy affects your hormones. Or, telling us we have to seed cycle in order to get our menstrual cycles on track. The internet is bombarding us with information - some valuable, others downright harmful - and we need a little help setting it straight. So this week, as the final episode in our miniseries on hormone health, we're speaking with Rohini Bajekal, a evidence-informed nutritionist and co-author of Living PCOS Free, which she wrote with her mother, an Allsorts Podcast fave, Dr Nitu Bajekal MD. Rohini generously shares her own experiences with PCOS, her frustrating efforts in trying out online advice, and how she developed a solid, evidence-based lifestyle approach for caring for hormone health. This episode shines a light on all too common reproductive conditions that often go undiagnosed. We talk about whether or not you can actually “balance” your hormones and what the research says about nutrients and dietary patterns that do - and do not - help you heal. About Rohini Bajekal MSc: Rohini Bajekal is a nutritionist with a first class Master's degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences and a board-certified Lifestyle Medicine professional. She is the co-author of Living PCOS Free: How to Regain Your Hormonal Health with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which she wrote with her mother, ObGyn Dr Nitu Bajekal. On this episode we chat about: What do we mean by “hormone health”? Why you need to be incredibly cautious with hormone health info online How leaving her plant-based home revealed a huge change in Rohini's health Mental health and mood in gynecological conditions like PCOS Keto vs plant-based for hormone health Maintaining balanced blood sugars with plant foods The nutrients that matter for hormone health The link between endometriosis and IBS The risks of underfueling and malnutrition Some real talk on supplements Support the Pod! Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Roshi - ZMM - 12/10/23 - The verses of Rohini, from the Therīgāthā - Poems of the Early Nuns - Likening our intentional practice to the natural process of respiration; the continuous flow of inspiration in our lives and the aspirations we make out of that, how does that work for each of us? This question is brought to mind when reading Rohini's verses about her own aspirations.
Welcome to the Vedic New Moon Wisdom episode for December. The upcoming new moon on December 12th in the nakshatra Jyeshta brings a unique numeric and cosmic alignment. The date itself, 12-12-2023, signifies building blocks for creation with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, symbolizing the step-by-step process of manifestation. This new moon presents an ideal time for healing, coinciding with Saturn in its own sign supporting healing, transformation, and evolution. Delving into Vedic astrology, the new moon graces the lunar mansion Jyeshtha, where materialization and prosperity take center stage. However, the shadow of jealousy looms, drawing parallels with the myth of Rohini and Soma, where the elder sister, Jyeshtha, harbors envy. The celestial arrangement mirrors this duality, with Mars accompanying the Sun and Moon in Jyeshtha, intensifying the opposition with its rival, Antares. The podcast encourages us to view envy as a guide, signaling areas requiring vibrational alignment. Michel Ai Reavis, your host, suggests three actionable steps for the new moon: seeding intentions, deep healing, and transforming envy into inspiration for personal growth. Embrace the transformative potential of the new moon in Jyeshtha to meet the new year with wholeness and well-being. Connect with Michel: michel@moneylighthouse.com
The Somnath Jyotirlinga is one of the 12 sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, known as Jyotirlingas. It is located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra, Gujarat, India. The Somnath Jyotirlinga is deeply connected to Lord Shiva through a rich and ancient legend. Legend of Somnath Jyotirlinga: According to Hindu mythology, the legend of Somnath Jyotirlinga is associated with the Moon God, Chandra (Soma). Chandra, the Moon God, had married 27 daughters of Daksha Prajapati, but he favored one wife, Rohini, over the others. This partiality angered Daksha, and he cursed Chandra to gradually wane and lose his brightness. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nilnia/support
The full moon in Rohini nakshatra is coming in hot on November 27th 2023. Rohini nakshatra is associated to the deity Brahma, who is revered as the creator of the Universe according to Sanātana Dharma. This asterism is favored and loved by many astrologers due to its sensuality, artistic expression, gentleness, and raw creative power. This is an outstanding time to redirect our awareness and focus onto how we perceive and interact with the world around. I share one of the most profound lessons I've learned in life and how the wisdom has empowered me to create my reality through how I choose to view the world. Of course, we are still in the midst of Scorpio season. We spend time discussing how this period of time could impact us individually and explore how this fierce energy has been revealing itself in the media. Welcome Back to Behind the Service . Today Libby sits down with Rohini Bagrodia to discuss her work at Columbia University with the Family Flex Study which aims to capture the resiliency within families as they have traversed difficult times, as well as better understand the needs and struggles of families across the U.S. They will also pay specific attention to the unique needs of our veteran families, recognizing that there is often a lack of resources for the larger family unit post-military separation. Rohini is a PhD candidate in clinical psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests focus on exploring emotion regulation patterns in children and between different family members as indicators of overall adjustment following stressful life events. While not a veteran herself, Rohini has worked in veteran mental health for the past years, motivated by the unique mental health needs of veterans and continually inspired by the phenomenal resiliency seen every day.During the height of the pandemic, Rohini, Ann-Christin Haag, and Dr. George Bonanno, developed the Family Flexibility Study, with the goal to understand how families, especially veteran families, were managing this unprecedented time. In her initial conversations with families, Rohini became all too aware of the lack of resources for veteran spouses and children post-military separation.
