Each year, under the bright full moon of Guru Purnima, yoga practitioners and seekers around the world pause to honor the timeless presence of the Guru, the teacher who removes darkness and reveals the light that has always been within us. But what does it truly mean to walk in the light of the Guru? In the ancient yoga tradition, the Guru is far more than just a transmitter of techniques or philosophy. The Guru is the living embodiment of wisdom, a steady flame passed from teacher to student, generation after generation. The Guru: Not Just a Teacher, but a Living Embodiment Our ancient texts speak clearly about this. The Mundaka Upanishad (1.2.12) tells us: तद्विज्ञानार्थं स गुरुमेवाभिगच्छेत समित्पाणिः श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्मनिष्ठम् ॥ Tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet Samit-panih srotriyam brahma-nishtham "To realize that Supreme Knowledge, one must approach a Guru alone, carrying fuel in hand, who is learned in the scriptures (srotriya) and firmly established in Brahman (brahma-nistha)." These two qualities, srotriya and brahma-nistha, reveal the heart of the true Guru. Srotriya (श्रोत्रिय) comes from sruti (श्रुति), meaning "that which is heard," the revealed wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads. Etymologically, sru means to hear and -triya means possessor of. A srotriya is one who has fully mastered the sacred teachings, the outer mastery of scripture, tradition, and precise method. Brahma-nistha (ब्रह्मनिष्ठ) brings us deeper still. Brahman is the undivided reality, the ultimate truth. Nistha means "firmly established," from nis (down, firm) and stha (to stand). A brahma-nistha is one who stands unshakably rooted in the living truth of Brahman. This is the inner realization that breathes life into the outer knowledge. Together, they remind us: Without srotriya, the teaching drifts. Without brahma-nistha, the teaching is lifeless. How the Guru Lives in Our Lineage In the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, we have seen these qualities alive in the teachers who came before us. K. Pattabhi Jois was a true srotriya, deeply rooted in Sanskrit, the Vedas, and the subtle method of Ashtanga Yoga. Yet his real power came from being brahma-nistha too: his whole life was practice, devotion, and direct living example. He did not just talk about yoga, he was yoga, every dawn, every breath, every student who came to him. Sharath Jois, Guruji's grandson, embodies this same living thread. His srotriya shines through in the precise count, the unwavering discipline, the commitment to preserve the parampara, the unbroken lineage. But what touches people most is his brahma-nistha: the quiet steadiness, the humility, the simple, living truth that shows through his presence and service to this path. A true Guru does not make you a follower. A true Guru shows you how to find the light that has always been yours. The Guru Cultivates the Inner Flame As Patanjali reminds us in the Yoga Sutra (1.20): श्रद्धावीर्यस्मृतिसमाधिप्रज्ञापूर्वक इतरेषाम् ॥ १.२० ॥ Sraddha-virya-smrti-samadhi-prajna-purvaka itaresam "For others, samadhi comes through faith (sraddha), vigor (virya), remembrance (smrti), deep absorption (samadhi), and wisdom (prajna)." These qualities are the hidden garden the Guru nourishes in us: Sraddha: faith, the quiet trust that steadies us when doubt arises. Virya: courageous effort, the strength to keep going. Smrti: remembrance of who we really are and why we practice. Samadhi: deep absorption, the merging of mind, breath, and heart. Prajna: clear insight, the wisdom that sees through illusion. The outer Guru lights this lamp. The inner Guru keeps it burning. A Prayer on Guru Purnima When we bow on Guru Purnima, we do not bow only to a person, we bow to the entire living thread that connects us to truth: our teachers, our daily practice, our inner wisdom. May our lives be our offering back, our sraddha, our virya, our willingness to stand firm in the truth when the world wavers. May we carry this flame forward, bright and steady, for all those who will come after us, seeking the same light that our Gurus kept alive for us. ॐ श्रीगुरुभ्यो नमः। Pranam to all Gurus, visible and invisible, past, present, and yet to come. Closing Thought May Guru Purnima remind you that the Guru is not far away. The true Guru lives in your daily breath, your sincere effort, and the quiet voice inside that whispers, keep going. May we keep this light alive, together. Practice LIVE with me exclusively on Omstars. Start your journey today with a 7-day trial at omstars.com. In this final lecture of the "Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita" series, Acharya das explores the concept of "the yoga of love" or bhakti yoga. He explains that bhakti yoga represents both a spiritual practice and the ultimate goal of all yoga practices. In considering this subject it is important to distinguish between material conceptions of love, which are often self-centered, and true spiritual love, which is characterized by selflessness and devotion to the Supreme Soul. Acharya das emphasizes that bhakti is not merely a supplementary practice but the culmination of all spiritual paths, representing the natural function of the spirit soul in its pure state. The talk highlights the intimate, reciprocal relationship between the individual soul and the Supreme Soul, describing it as a bond of "eternal kinship."Links to two other talks mentioned in this talk:Is it Love or Lust - https://open.spotify.com/episode/4XVCggkxHZtkbQCJjlYN36?si=LRmjvduRQsqaV0iiDsQVugYoga of the Bhagavad-gita - https://open.spotify.com/episode/2Q2YFvbXyh1eHyDqio6P9o?si=ckdKNW38RSCPrEaZ8Qe5CAVerses quoted in this talk:The same jīva is eternal and is for eternity and without a beginning joined to the Supreme Lord by the tie of an eternal kinship. - Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā 5.21And of all yogīs, he who always abides in Me with great faith, worshiping Me in transcendental loving service[bhakti-yoga], is most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest of all. - Bhagavad-gītā 6.47My dear Arjuna, only by undivided devotional service can I be understood as I am, standing before you, and can thus be seen directly. Step from ego-self to Atman in this profound Baba Talk by Maetreyii Ma, an exploration of the nondual truth at the heart of Yoga's deepest teachings. This talk reveals how suffering arises from the illusion of separateness and how awakening leads into the Oneness of All Existence. In this discourse, Maetreyii Ma explains how the ego-self creates restlessness, fear, and longing—yet dissolves when we surrender into the infinite presence of pure love. As the heart opens, the Atman, the true Self, shines through, revealing the Oneness that underlies all forms of life. This shift is the essence of the nondual journey: seeing divinity everywhere and returning to the core of being. Drawing from ancient insights and universal dharma, the talk shows how the infinite Brahma expresses through every being, every moment, and every movement of creation. When the veil of ignorance drops, the seeker realizes that all forms are the Beloved—Baba in countless expressions. If you're drawn to teachings of unity, inner peace, and spiritual awakening, this Baba Talk offers a doorway into the Oneness of All Existence. Send us a textThe ancient Rishis, through deep states of consciousness perceived the true architecture of cosmic time, shedding light on why the impossible (like interstellar travel) is infinitely possible. Vedic knowledge, is not myth. it is memory that sustains within the humanity's DNA. All that we call myth - from the ancient domain of Africa ( which includes Egypt ), India, China, the great pyramids, Mayan civilization's UN-erasable history- the universal truth etched in our memory- memory to be remembered. A more recent Vedic aeronautic tome called the Vaimanika Shastra written by Pt. Sastry cited the intricate architectural designs implemented in ancient Vedic models for starships such as Ai Atlas and R2 Swan - the design and construction and propulsion of these ancient starships noted untra-dense metal construction and mercury vortex engines and other highly advanced technologies. The modern discovery of concepts like ion drives, warp drives and anti-gravity technology align with the supreme design architecture described in this text which elaborated on ancient Vedic texts such as Ramayana and Mahabharata that noted these flying machines called Vimana, a Sanskrit term: The descriptions of Vimanas as silent hovering craft moving with aquatic grace at unfathomable speeds across great swaths of the universe navigating through known cosmic portals. Vaimanika Sastra surmised the starship's design complied with Vedic mathematical principles that emulate the natural symmetrical pulsation and geometrical sequence of the universe. ancient Vedic renditions of spacecraft design would have had to include a timed emission system that is synchronized to match the pulsation of the cosmic heartbeat generating from Spanda, the primordial vibration. Its navigation system is rooted in the cosmic code imbued into the spiral of galaxies, a concept founded in 200BCE by the Vedic mathematician, Pingala in his work on Sanskrit prosody where he surmised the Virahanka numbers, the knowledge of what is now known as the Fibonacci sequence - the cosmic code imbued in the spiral of galaxies, in the full cycle of the DNA double helix, and in various aspects of nature. To help us understand the impossible timeline being not only possible but holding infinite possibilities listen to the deeper vibration of truth currently resonating in every cell of your being. There is simply nothing to fear from the arrival of interstellar starships and their Supra-conscious sojourners.Vedic cosmology describes time in vast cycles called kalpas, 4.32 billion years, for example, represent a day of Brahma followed by a night of Brahma of equal length, where the universe is created and then dissolved. This cyclical model predates present day Big Bang theories. The Vedas propose that the universe expands from a singularity and at the end of each Kalpa it collapses into dissolution therein triggering the next Big Bang. This understanding of the Kalpa principle of time offers insights into the bending and folding of cosmic time. Send us a textIn this raw shadow-soaked episode, Justine Lemos and Emily McConnell descend into the basement-level truths of a wild Scorpio stellium and the New Moon in Anuradha Nakshatra. With Mercury retrograde, Mars and Moon in Scorpio, and Venus smoldering in Libra, this is a conversation about secrecy, devotion, power, obsession, and the thin line between concealment and revelation. From underground raves and lotus flowers growing out of the muck, to global politics, taboo topics, and cultural shadow, the duo explores the archetypal terrain of Scorpio: sex, power, death, trauma, secrets—and transformation. Film references like Black Swan and American Beauty, along with dark, magnetic music picks (Billie Eilish, underground hip-hop), amplify the episode's sultry, dissonant, and entrancing vibe.A powerful Vedic myth of Brahma, Agni, Indra, and Vayu delivers the spiritual message of the episode: true power is not in domination, but in humility and curiosity. The blade of grass becomes the symbol of divine intelligence, reminding listeners that knowledge, not conquest, is the ultimate victory. This episode is a ritual in itself — part astrology lesson, part cultural critique, part devotional meditation, and part shadow dance.Themes: Scorpio secrets • Anuradha devotion • Power + concealment • Shadow integration • Erotic mysticism • Truth behind illusion • Knowledge as liberationSupport the show
In this episode, we break down Blizzard's brand-new freestyle line, Canvas—arguably the least “Blizzard-y” ski they've ever made, in a good way. After some early-season chaos talk (New England snow showing up, who's spinning already, and a recap of Snowbound Expo and the Blizzard x BSSC event), we dive into what Canvas is, who it's for, and how the 100/108/118 lineup stacks up against skis from Armada, Black Crows, Line, and Rossi. We get into why this is such a big departure for a brand known for Brahma, Bonafide, Rustler, Black Pearl, and Anomaly, how brand perception affects park skis, and why athletes and comps matter in launching something new. We also cover the graphic story, including artist Penelope Mesa's painted canvases that give the ski its distinctive black-and-white freestyle look. 00:00 – Winter is here 01:48 – Early-season stoke: Jay Peak snow & who's spinning 04:36 – Snowbound Expo, BSSC party & Boston ski buzz 11:02 – Meet Blizzard Canvas: Blizzard's new freestyle/park ski 13:54 – Canvas lineup, specs & Penelope Mesa's graphic story 20:01 – Who Canvas is for & how it fits into Blizzard's lineup 23:15 – Brand perception, park heritage & why athletes matter 32:17 – Weird skis, graphics & shapes 48:37 – East vs West: hot laps, rope tows & small-mountain lap machines, Ragged's new ownership & closing thoughts / go skiing

If you look around here today, you'll see that these are rare souls in the room, because we are in the midst of the saṅkīrtana movement. Somehow or other, we have been given this opportunity together to carry on the service that Śrīla Prabhupāda got from his spiritual master, and it goes all the way back to Kṛṣṇa. So, the service itself is a high sādhana that connects us to Kṛṣṇa most directly. What's more, it's the purpose of the creation. That's what Kṛṣṇa has in mind every time Mahā Viṣṇu exhales: yasyaika-niśvasita-kālam athāvalambya jīvanti loma-vilajā jagad-aṇḍa-nāthāḥ viṣṇur mahān sa iha yasya kalā-viśeṣo govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi (Brahma-saṁhitā 5.48) All the universes manifest, and then Kṛṣṇa reminds everyone where they left off in the last creation so they can start up again. But His underlying purpose in manifesting the world is to give every soul a chance to turn back towards him in the spiritual world and be happy. He says in the Bhagavad Gītā that those who take up the work of helping turn people back towards him are the most dear to him. Any spiritual practice that brings us closer to God, because it's a practice that's dear to him, is the most direct and the most important. So, book distribution is not a P.R. event. It's not a quaint activity that was meant for another era. Rather, it's a high sādhana that connects each one of us, not only to Prabhupāda, but also to Kṛṣṇa. And it was Śrīla Prabhupāda's mode, as he expressed it himself, that he picked up the mood of his spiritual master and he carried it forward. That was his main technique for spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness and staying connected to Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #livetogive #bookdistribution #sankirtan #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

The Stockdale Brahmas battled the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs in a District slugfest on Friday, Nov. 7, at Bobby Russell Field in Stockdale. The Mustangs received the opening kickoff and quickly scored, taking an early 7-0 lead. After the Brahmas' first possession abruptly ended, the Mustangs had the ball deep in Brahma territory. Brahma sophomore Caysen Lopez ripped through the offensive lineman and sacked the Mustangs' quarterback, which resulted in a safety. The Mustangs then punted the ball, and Stockdale senior Trenton Gordon returned the ball for 22 yards. On the next play, senior John Baca and junior Conner Hajovsky paved the...Article Link

So this is the original nature of Krsna, original nature of Krsna. He is Radha-Madhava. He is the lover of Srimati Radharani. And kunja-vihari, always enjoying the company of the gopis within the bushes of Vrdavana forest. Radha-madhava kunja-vihari. So He's not only lover of Radharani, but braja-jana-vallabha. The whole residents of Vrndavana, they love Krsna. They do not know anything else. They do not know whether Krsna is God or not, neither they are very much harassed that “I shall love Krsna if He is God.” “He may be God or He may be whatever He is. It doesn't matter, but we love Krsna, that's all. ” That is called unnalloyed love. “If Krsna is God, then I shall love Him”—this is conditional love. This is not pure love. Krsna may be God or whatever He may be, but by His wonderful acts, the Vrajavasi, they are thinking, “Oh Krsna, He is very wonderful child, maybe some demigod. Maybe some demigod.” Because people are generally under impression that the demigods are all-powerful. They're powerful within this material world. But they do not know that Krsna is above all of them. Isvarah paramah krsnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah [Bs. 5.1]. The highest demigod, Brahma, is giving his opinion, “The supreme controller is Krsna.” (excerpt from the purport to the song by Srila Prabhupada) To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

The Stockdale Brahmas faced the Natalia Mustangs in a District game on Friday, Oct 31, in Natalia. Junior Coy Gann finished the drive with a 7-yard touchdown run, with senior John Baca paving the way. Junior Josh Hathaway added the extra point, and the Brahmas took an early 7-0 lead. The Brahma defense forced an early Mustang turnover with a “tackle for loss” by sophomore Tucker Hall and great pass defense by Miller. The Brahmas quickly countered...Article Link
How did Brahma create alluring women, and for what purpose? Why did the righteous King Bhangashvana choose womanhood? How did the sage Markandeya's pupil prevent his guru's wife from committing adultery? What role did Indra play in the births of Vishvamitra and Parashu Rama? How were death, diseases, desire and anger created? Why and how did the institution of kingship come about? What can one learn from the mouse who escaped the cat, the owl, the mongoose and the hunter; or the wise jackal who was betrayed by the lion king? Why did Shiva swallow Shukra, the guru of the Asuras? Embedded within the lengthy discourse on dharma in the Shanti and Anushasana Parvans of the Mahabharata are answers to a whole range of such questions-moral lessons from a dying Bhishma to King Yudhishthira, on life, death and everything in between. The Dharma of Unfaithful Wives and Faithful Jackals: Some Moral Tales From The Mahabharata is a highly entertaining selection of these tales-tangled at times, insightful at others, yet always quirky-about women, both good and bad, fathers and sons, kings, gods and kings of gods, and fables. The perceptive translations by Wendy Doniger, hailed as 'the greatest living mythologist', are a treat for anyone fascinated by the bewildering complexity of Hindu myth and lore. Cc Madhya 18.128-229 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/18/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ I was once on an airplane ride from San Francisco to Hawaii, en route to India — it was a stopover along the way. And they had a talent show on the plane. They asked if anybody had a talent — if so, they could come up and, you know, do their thing. A few people volunteered and went up there. There was a comedian, then a breakdancer, and someone did a magic trick. I was a brahmacārī. I got up and chanted the Brahma-saṁhitā on the plane — and I won. They gave me two tickets to the Botanical Gardens in Hawaii. So yes... it always pays to learn verses. In this Baba Talk by Maetreyii Ma, discover the timeless truth of existence and the mystery of awakening from the dream of separation. All creation, she explains, arises as a divine thought in the mind of Brahma — a cosmic dream flowing through infinite consciousness. Within this vast dream, your inner Self — the Atman — is not separate from the infinite Brahma, but a living reflection of that same divine awareness. Drawing from ancient Yoga philosophy, Maetreyii Ma reveals how awakening to your true nature brings freedom from fear, peace beyond time, and love that never ends. As you realize the Atman within the infinite Brahma, the illusion of individuality fades, and your heart opens to the oneness of all life. This talk is an invitation to rest in the stillness of your true being — the infinite love that you already are.

From Nepal to Peru to Morocco, Gen Z'ers are rising up – and yes, they are connected. In September 2025, 8 women died in childbirth in an badly funded hospital in the southern coastal city of Agadir. This sparked outrage, especially since Morocco is currently investing millions if not billions in building stadiums and arenas for the upcoming football World Cup. The climate crisis and the genocide in Gaza also play into this popular eruption. Tahani Brahma is a Moroccan human rights activist and was kind enough to speak to us to explain what is going on.Cover photo: Christine Leuhusen. It took 40, then 25, then 30 miles before the mind finally stopped screaming and started praying. Fresh off a solo bike ride through the Adirondacks, Raghunath and Kaustubha dive into practical bhakti: how movement can quiet the mental “algorithm,” how to use Kārtika (Damodara Month) to turn up your practice x1000, and why the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam's Brahma-vimohana lila (Brahma Mohan Leela)—when Kṛṣṇa becomes every cowherd boy and calf—reveals more than wonder; it maps how God and God's energies actually work. Key Highlights * “Metaphysical Amazon Prime”: stop praying for two-day shipping; start praying “What do You want from me today?” * Kārtika math: one round = a thousand (devotion multiplies—calories don't). * Japa that sticks: sit, walk, or pedal—just get past the first “many miles” of mental noise. * Phone in another room = mind in the same room as God. * Acintya-bhedābheda for real life: one energy, different functions—like electricity that can cool your fridge and heat your toast. If you're ready to trade doom-scrolling for mantra-rolling, this episode gives you a simple plan: pick a vow for Kārtika, leave the phone outside the temple of your morning, and let the mind settle mile by mile until prayer gets loud. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.13.36–40
We'll chant some of the Brahma-saṁhitā. Because in 1975, during an initiation ceremony in Chicago, Illinois, which we had the pleasure of being present for, Rohiṇī Kumar Prabhu, one of the founders of ISV, had organized a group of us to chant the Brahma-saṁhitā and the Puruṣa-sūkta in 1998. And Prabhupāda was present at an initiation, and afterward, he made it a point to tell the leaders there that he liked the chanting of Brahma-saṁhitā and Puruṣa-sūkta very much. So we continue that tradition by chanting Brahma-saṁhitā together. Lord Caitanya said 'devotee Vaidya.' The Vaishnava, is a doctor. Doctors got a little black bag. Doctors used to make home calls, and Lord Chaitanya says, 'What does he have in that little bag?' That little black bag? The doctor, the Vaishnava doctor, has hymns and instructions—two things to cure the disease of Maya. And it requires this personal touch. Somebody's going to knock on the door. Otherwise, what are they going to do? I'll give you one guess what they're going to do. It starts with an 'S' and ends with two 'L's: Everyone's scrolling! Used to be watching television, but now it's just scrolling. Nobody's doing anything but scrolling. That's why people can't pass a budget. That's why people can't get along. They're too busy scrolling. So, until we knock on the door and say, 'Hare Krishna, and here, please, please be our friend.Radha Krishna bolo, Sange Cholo, ei matra bhikha chai. Our bhikha is only asking people, 'Why don't you just come and chant Hare Krishna with us?' Because you can't have any more fun than we're having in the Krishna conscious movement. It's impossible, because this is the spiritual world. It's just flat-out fun to be with devotees, to chant Hare Krishna, to read Bhagavad Gita. This is the real life. Everything else is a wanna-be life, and it just isn't working. So Krishna again and again gives opportunity, and his touch is very personal. It's one point I'd like to make today: everything's personal. And I'm charmed, frankly charmed, when I read in the Second Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam, 'kare spṛśan,' which means that Krishna shook Brahma's hand and he said, 'Bhadram te -Good luck, Brahma.' "See, that feels good. Everyone wants to do that. If we go in sankirtan, if you're on a road with busy traffic and you see somebody on the other side of the street and you go like this (shows a fist bump), they'll cross traffic, risking life and limb of being run over just to do this, because everyone's missing that. They don't have the personal touch. They want somebody to reach out to them and say, 'Oh, please, touch my soul. Touch my heart.' They can't get it in the material world because everyone's busy with themselves, being frustrated again and again in the love that's professed here. Maybe there's a glimmer, but we can't hold it. People are looking for that deep, loving exchange with Suhrit, their old friend, Krishna. So when Krishna starts the Sampradaya, he puts his good will into it. He speaks to Brahma; he shakes Brahma's hand. He tells him, 'Good luck with making this creation and also passing down the knowledge so that people can take it,' and it's an unbroken line of discipline succession. There are detours, but it's an eternal message that comes down, and Srila Vyasadeva helps to put it into order so that we can take advantage of it and distribute it to others. So we have a lifetime—or many lifetimes—of service, it's an eternal service to enter into that. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------

So he (Lord Brahmā) says, "jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām." Jīvanti means "to live"—if all you do is somehow or other stay alive. Jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ, just so you can attend the Bhāgavatam class, that's all you do. What do you do? Just try to stay alive all day long so the next day I can go to the Bhāgavatam class. That's all you do. "Yeah, that's all I do." Brahma says, "That's alright, jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām," because by doing that—in whatever position you're in now—you don't have to change anything. It'll change from the inside out. "Sthāne sthitaḥ śruti-gataṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhiḥ," because if that's your dedication, just to hear about Krishna, then ajita—jito—the unconquerable Ajita, becomes conquered by that person, praṇaya-rasanayā. They begin to love Kṛṣṇa so much just by hearing about him. That was the case with Rukmiṇī Devī. She never saw Kṛṣṇa, but she wrote this letter, "yasyāṅghri-paṅkaja-rajaḥ-snapanaṁ mahānto vāñchanty umā-patir ivātma-tamo-'pahatyai yarhy ambujākṣa na labheya bhavat-prasādaṁ jahyām asūn vrata-kṛśān śata-janmabhiḥ syāt" (SB 10.52.43) She never met Kṛṣṇa, but she heard about him in the court of her father. She's a princess, so they were talking about Kṛṣṇa. It's said the more she heard about it, it was like, "That's who I'm going to marry. I'm going to marry him." And she was so determined that she wrote this note to Kṛṣṇa and sent it to him. It was like, "Look, you marry me, or I'm going to kill myself through austerities." That's what this verse says. "Yasyāṅghri-rajaḥ-snapanaṁ mahanto" says, "Great souls like Lord Shiva, they purify themselves by taking the dust of Your lotus feet and putting them on their heads." She said, "If I cannot attain your mercy, I'm going to perform such severe austerities that I'll be forced to give up my life. And then maybe, after many lifetimes of doing this, you'll give me your mercy and marry me." All she did was hear about it. And then the wives of the brāhmaṇas—all they did was hear about Kṛṣṇa from the marketplace. They went to the weekend market. What's that called? A farmers' market. They went to the farmers' market, and they were buying ingredients to assist their husbands in these yajñas. And there were some residents of Vṛndāvan there, and they were like, "Kṛṣṇa, this... Kṛṣṇa, that..."—Kṛṣṇa-kathā going on in the marketplace. They heard it. They overheard it. They discussed it. They fell in love with Kṛṣṇa, so much so that they're exalted way above their husbands. It's way above this so-called Brāhmaṇism, performing yajnas. It becomes a fact that one understands everything by Kṛṣṇa-kathā. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna
In this world, you may have a complicated life. You may think yourself unqualified. Don't worry. If you follow in the footsteps of the sages, you'll be successful. "Tvat-pāda-potena mahat-kṛtena," means if you follow the process given by the greats, then you'll be boarding a boat. In this verse, it says that the ocean of complexity, which is this material world, shrinks for those who have the process. How small ? Size of the hoof print of a calf, and then one can easily step over it. And in the next verse, Brahma goes on and describes how that becomes a boat where we can cross the material ocean but when you approach the boat, the ocean shrinks. And Prabhupāda explains in the purport how we're part of what's called the Ācārya-sampradāya. When we come to an ISKCON temple, we find that Prabhupāda is prominently seated there. That's lucky for us. If you go to see Rādhā-Govinda in Jaipur for mangala-ārti, no doubt, one of the most ecstatic experiences in the world when you go to see Rādhā-Govinda, but you won't find a prominently seated Ācārya somewhere. If you go to the temples of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura in Māyāpur, his flagship temple, you'll find all the Ācāryas. In fact, they're situated in a circle around Gandharvikā Giridhārī, and you can go see each one where their origin is. Each one comes from a divine origin passed down to other mahats, other greats. And he emphasized that, as do all the Ācāryas, and as does Kṛṣṇa Himself, "ācāryaṁ māṁ vijānīyān navamanyeta karhicit." One should respect the Ācārya-sampradāya, Kṛṣṇa says. "Don't consider that they're ordinary people. Consider that you should sit there the sum total, better than all the demigods put together, and not ordinary." So we have this clear object of meditation. We also have a clear path that one may follow to walk in the footsteps of the Ācāryas. It consists of what we've been given, and those who follow the simple path strictly are the most successful. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
This verse in the Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā (BS 5:37) describes Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. It says Kṛṣṇa is there, but eternally expanded to serve him is Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, and within the purport—have you ever read the purport to that verse? We've read it together in the old days. It's the longest purport you'll find in the Brahma-saṁhitā or perhaps anywhere else, and it's a description really of the 64 arts that Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is perfect in. And she offers that to Kṛṣṇa. It's this perfection of service that is ārādhanam, this feeling of "Let me perfect my service." So this is the motto of ISV. Our motto, our battle cry, is "Always better service," and this is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, and all the devotees are always trying to follow in her footsteps to perform better and better service to Kṛṣṇa, because her service is the best. Her service is perfect, so we try to perfect our service. In Vṛndāvana once, Prabhupāda came out of his room and the devotees offered him a garland. It was scraggly. Is that a word? Scraggly? It is? Yay! It was scraggly; it was withered. And in the first place, it wasn't a very nice garland, but after the heat hit it, then it turned into something that made Prabhupāda's lips curl a little bit. And then he called all the garland makers to his room, and he gave them a seminar on how to make garlands. So when I walked in this morning and I saw these—the garlands that the devotees are making here—this is ārādhanam. This is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. In the fine arts in the spiritual world, as an example, garland making is one of the arts. Can it be refined? Well, I remember a day here at ISV when it was by Jamunā's grace that we had any flowers at all. We were so poor. How poor were we? I remember we were so poor when we decided to start our saṅkīrtan party and we needed a table. We looked around at each other, "Where are we going to get it? We need a table to set up. We'll have to get somebody to loan us the money." The flowers that we were getting, because Jamunā from the very beginning was the only one supplying us flowers, and they were carnations, but the room was so hot there at our old temple. How hot was it? It was so hot that those little garlands that we offered, the best of what we could put together, they would dry up within an hour and they became these very scraggly little garlands. But over time, we see that the devotees have learned the art of making garlands, and Kṛṣṇa has given more and more facility to get flowers, which is the real opulence in Deity worship—flowers. And now, if you see these vases up here next to Prabhupāda or over here, this looks like somebody is following in the footsteps of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. What to speak of Prabhupāda's garland! Hare Kṛṣṇa! And you can imagine, while they are making those garlands—they take hours, it takes hours to make those—and then the offering goes. And Śrīla Prabhupāda wears it for a few hours. The Deities wear them for a few hours. But do the devotees who made them feel satisfied? Yeah, completely satisfied... If you want to find the ultimate thing, you have to ask the question and if you want to acquire something, you have to ask about it. And whatever you ask about, that's what you're going to get. So if you just ask about the basic necessities of life, you get what the snails get: just a little grass. But if you ask about God, then you can get that. So the Brahma-sūtra says, "Athāto Brahma-jijñāsā." Now you should ask, who is Brahman? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In the spiritual world, this is the norm: that every gait is a dance, every word is a song. So the spiritual world is not void, and Kṛṣṇa is not alone, but the spiritual world is where all the living entities who are enlightened and in love with Kṛṣṇa reside. The material world is a little lonely because we are separated from the light of the spiritual worlds and from Kṛṣṇa. So the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam brings our attention to the portals through which we can see the spiritual world and understand it. It's not illogical. In the Bhagavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa says, "ūrdhva-mūlam adhaḥ-śākham aśvatthaṁ prāhur avyayam chandāṁsi yasya parṇāni yas taṁ veda sa veda-vit," that this material world is a reflection of the spiritual world. We see variety here, but the variety here is temporary. It has a shelf life. Whatever we want to embrace here, whatever we want to taste here, has a beginning and an end. It's a temporary world because it's a reflection of the spiritual world. So the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam says that the mission of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is "reality distinguished from illusion for the benefit of all." If I try to embrace an illusory apple, a reflection on the water, this is folly; I won't be able to eat it. But the substance is there in the spiritual world. So Brahmā gives this explanation of how one can see Kṛṣṇa. He says, "Although Kṛṣṇa is transcendental form is presented as black." Devotees who are in love with the Supreme Personality of Godhead appreciate the Lord as Śyāmasundara, having a very beautiful, blackish form. The Lord's form is so beautiful that the Brahma-saṁhitā also states, "veṇuṁ kvaṇantam aravinda-dalāyatākṣaṁ barhāvataṁsam asitāmbuda-sundarāṅgam / kandarpa-koṭi-kamanīya-viśeṣa-śobhaṁ / govindam ādipuruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi... I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord who plays on His transcendental flute. His eyes are like lotus flowers. He is decorated with peacock plumes, and his bodily color resembles the color of a fresh black cloud. Although his bodily features are more beautiful than millions of Cupids, this beauty of the Supreme Lord can be seen by devotees who are in love with him, devotees whose eyes are anointed with the love of Godhead: 'Premāñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena.' ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
