Cc Madhya 10.109-175 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/10/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ If one is to take advantage of the position of the spiritual master, then there has to be a sense of reverence, because mercy flows down. But, at the same time, one may lose the intimate connection of friendship in which the heart of the spiritual master opens and the contents flow out. So there's an example of fire. One shouldn't get too close to the fire, otherwise you get burned. But if you stay too far away, you may not be able to take advantage of the qualities of the fire. So, there should be an appropriate mix of both of those. And just as far as the second point goes, I mean, it's a generally accepted principle that intimacy in relationships anywhere, but especially with the spiritual master and the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is a more advanced position. itthaṁ satāṁ brahma-sukhānubhūtyā dāsyaṁ gatānāṁ para-daivatena māyāśritānāṁ nara-dārakeṇa sākaṁ vijahruḥ kṛta-puṇya-puñjāḥ (SB 10.12.11) There's some wonderment in the discovery of those in Vṛndāvan in this verse I just quoted from Chapter Twelve of the Tenth Canto, that those who are in the topmost position have an equal position with the Lord. They are so intimately related, and that's put in the higher position, as more mercy, than those who are dāsyaṁ gatānāṁ para-daivatena. They see the Supreme Personality of Godhead as their master, The Supreme Lord with opulence. Therefore, the second answer to the second question is the one: when there is intimacy, then it's known that one's receiving more mercy, but both things should be there in the relationship. That's my final answer. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Cc Madhya 10.10-108 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/10/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Physical proximity isn't necessarily the thing that helps, because you can be in somebody's physical proximity, and your mind can be elsewhere. For instance, who's in a better position? Somebody who lives in Delhi, has to work there, has to stay there, and is always thinking about living in Vṛndāvana and hankering for Vṛndāvana? Or someone who moved to Vṛndāvana, but they're thinking, "I wish I could go to Delhi, because I want to go to Haldirām's, have a snack, and watch a football match"? I mean, who's in a better position? Physical proximity? One's in Vṛndāvana, the other one's in Delhi. So your point about, okay, he (Kālā Kṛṣṇa Dāsa) was close to Caitanya Mahāprabhu—but if your mind isn't engaged, then you could be far away and not taking advantage of Mahāprabhu's mercy. The sun is there, but if you cover yourself from it, then you're not able to take advantage of it. Just like with chanting—you can chant and not even be aware that you're chanting. Then that's one of the offenses. You're chanting, and Kṛṣṇa is directly present before you as the avatāra, but then you are thinking about something else—so you are not really there. In the Pañcarātrik system of Deity worship, there are two standards. One is the standard for temple worship; the other standard is the standard for home worship of The Deity, and generally, they are very different. At the temple, one should worship Kṛṣṇa like a king, and every specific should be observed, and one should have ever-increasing opulence for The Deity. At home, the standard is not as strict in the Pañcarātrik system because families do have to eat. If you just eat all halavā and white pūrīs for every meal, or if that's what you feed your kid, because like, "Okay, you make six kinds of milk sweets, and here's your breakfast." You better have medical insurance, because there is going to be diabetes or something like that. So, eat what's healthy at home, it should be of the highest quality and should be sattvic, but it can be simple and healthy that you offer it to The Deity. And Prabhupāda gave various concessions in other countries as well, about different kinds of cuisine. Prabhupāda was accommodating because people had their natures. The main point is temple worship is very exacting and should be specifically the kinds of things Kṛṣṇa likes, with some few exceptions—for festivals, cooking for devotees, and things like that. But then for the Rāja-bhoga and things like that, those should be standards. At home, one can feed one's family according to what's most needed for their health and according to the home standard of Deity worship. Kṛṣṇa accepts that. That also goes for the general schedule. The schedule at the temple, you have to be exacting. The āratī starts a certain time, offerings are there, and so forth. If you do that at home, good luck! Especially nowadays, it's very difficult. So you do the best you can for the timings and so forth. If you go on parikramā of Govardhana Hill, you'll find some sections that are smooth, easygoing. This is more in relationship to hearing sections—for instance, of the Bhāgavatam. Sometimes people get to the Ninth Canto and they say, "Do I have to read the entire lineage going all the way to Kṛṣṇa's appearance?" And it seems tedious. But we should remember that, as Sanātana Gosvāmī says, every word of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam emanates a shower of nectar." It's all completely transcendental. I heard Prabhupāda the other day say that every verse in the Bhāgavatam is as good as the Mahāmantra; He said 'the same thing.' So no, we shouldn't skip it. And finally, this idea of feeling unqualified: How does one become qualified? Well, Kavirāja Gosvāmī told us earlier. He said, "If you can't understand it, then I request you to hear it again and again and again," not to avoid it, but just to hear and be submissive and listen. Because by hearing again and again, one can come to understand. It's not an academic type of hearing; it's a devotional hearing. And Kṛṣṇa responds within the heart and informs us. Mādhavendra Purī had no hesitation to go all the way back, just to be noted, whatever trouble he was taking. He took it as a burden of love, of course, but it did mention there that Gopāla wanted to spare His devotee any extra inconvenience, so he had him offer the sandwich locally. But your observation about "ye yathā māṁ prapadyante—that as one surrenders unto Me, I reward them accordingly"—is also apt and important. It's important that we notice Kṛṣṇa's reciprocation and how kind He is. That's the quintessential attitude of a devotee, as expressed in: tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam hṛd-vāg-vapurbhir vidadhan namas te jīveta yo mukti-pade sa dāya-bhāk (SB 10.14.8) ..that the devotee sees that whatever comes is Kṛṣṇa's mercy. He's doing it purposefully in order to benedict me more and bring me closer to Him. That was a really nice observation. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #govardhanreadings #sricaitanyacaritamrita #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Is EQ more important than IQ when it comes to hospitality?Today, Manish Puri, General Manager of the Regent Hotels and Resorts Bali, joins Dan to dive into key topics in the industry, such as sustainability, community, and leadership. They discuss the essence of hospitality, differentiating it from mere service, and delve into the concept of regenerative hospitality and sustainability. Manish shares insights from his career at prestigious hotel brands like Oberoi, Burj Al Arab, Six Senses, and Regent Bali. They explore how sustainability initiatives can transform the industry, turning cost centers into investment centers, and the importance of heartfelt service. The conversation also covers the challenges of opening and managing new hotels and the impact of leadership and open-heartedness in inspiring younger generations in the hospitality industry.Takeaways: Embrace regenerative practices by viewing waste as an opportunity to create value, turning sustainability efforts into investments rather than costs.Lead by example and integrity. Your actions are always being observed, so inspire others by consistently doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.Pay attention to the small details in your work. Excellence is built on thousands of thoughtful, consistent actions rather than a single grand gesture.Foster a culture of genuine care and positivity. Small acts of kindness and authentic smiles can create a powerful ripple effect throughout your organization.Design guest programs that encourage visitors to give back to the local community, such as volunteering or sharing their expertise, creating a positive impact beyond their stay.Treat sustainability initiatives as opportunities for investment and growth, not just as expenses. Find ways to turn environmental responsibility into tangible value.Quote of the Show:“ A luxury brand has to have that caring side of it. Today, I sit down with Steven Puri, an Academy Award-winning Hollywood executive turned burnout prevention advocate. Steven's journey from the glittering heights of Hollywood success to discovering profound truths about sustainable achievement is absolutely insightful, and I know his revelations will resonate deeply with so many of you who are pushing hard but feeling like you're not progressing. What struck me most about our conversation was Steven's raw honesty about his experience in the entertainment industry—from the soul-nourishing culture at DreamWorks to the energy-draining environment at Fox that nearly broke him. His story beautifully illustrates something I see with so many of my clients: that invisible exhaustion that comes from pouring your precious life force into work that doesn't align with your values. Here's what you'll discover in this informative episode: ✅ How a chance encounter with a yoga teacher in the middle of an Indian forest became Steven's wake-up call to break free from the burnout cycle and reclaim his authentic path ✅ The surprising science behind "dopamine management" and why understanding your brain's reward system is crucial for avoiding the energy-draining traps of our digital world ✅ Steven's powerful revelation about flow states—those magical moments when time disappears and high-quality work happens effortlessly—and practical techniques you can use to access them consistently ✅ Why the "other thing" principle is essential for creativity, and how giving your executive mind something else to focus on unlocks your subconscious problem-solving abilities ✅ Simple but profound strategies for staying productive without burning out, including the game-changing approach of focusing on just three priorities instead of overwhelming yourself with endless to-do listsWhat I absolutely love about Steven's approach is how he combines his engineering background with deep spiritual wisdom to create practical solutions for modern burnout. His Sukha app and methodology aren't just about working harder—they're about working in harmony with your natural rhythms and energy patterns.https://thesukha.co.  email at steven@thesukha.coGet The Net and the Butterfly by Cabane and Pollack  about breakthrough thinking as mentioned in the episodeShow notes at https://www.breakfreefromtheburnout.comGet your breakthrough quantum call: https://www.scientifichealer.com/quantum Liked this episode? Leadership Lessons from Show Business In this episode, Tom and Adrienne chat with Steven Puri and trace his unexpected path from a “code monkey” in Northern Virginia to an Academy Award–winning visual-effects producer and later a tech entrepreneur. Steven shares how he bridged left-brain engineering and right-brain creativity on films like Independence Day, Braveheart, and several David Fincher projects. He reflects on lessons learned in Hollywood—managing creatives, nurturing “lightbulb” moments, and building culture—that carry over into hybrid and remote leadership. Long before remote work became a buzzword, Steven was orchestrating VFX teams across studios in Los Angeles, London, and Sydney, balancing creative, financial, and logistical mindsets over distance—an early test of distributed leadership that today's managers face. Throughout the conversation, candid anecdotes like the famed “Bart” trailer story illustrate why inviting every voice can spark game-changing ideas. As our work (and often our brains) has scattered in today's culture, Steven is dedicated to bringing us the tools for intentional focus. Here are a few of the gems gleaned from this fun and flowing conversation: Embrace Diverse Talents: Success in both film and tech comes from uniting creatives, technical experts, and business minds around a shared goal, much like assembling a movie crew. Manage Creativity with Intention: Great leaders know how to create the right environment for creativity—sometimes by giving people more than one project, or by encouraging "rubber ducking" (talking through problems out loud). Best Idea Wins Culture: The most effective teams foster a safe space where anyone, regardless of role, can contribute ideas—echoing Steven Spielberg's approach of valuing input from everyone, even the “coffee boy.” Hire for Passion and Culture Fit: Skills can be developed, but passion and alignment with the team's mission are essential. Hiring the right people is more important than micromanaging. Purposeful Markers and Storytelling: Leaders should set clear markers and use storytelling to help teams understand where they are and where they're going, just as a film uses acts and foreshadowing. Active Listening is Key: The best leaders practice active listening, seeking feedback from users, team members, and even critics, and using it to improve. Leadership is a Practice: Leadership isn't just a set of concepts—it's something you do and refine every day, much like honing a craft in show business. Steven is the Founder and CEO of The Sukha Company with the mission to help millions of people find their focus, achieve more and have a healthy work life. Steven's career started as a newscaster/interviewer for the #1 youth news show in the DC/Baltimore market (on WTTG-TV) and then as a junior software engineer & Thomas J. Watson Scholar at IBM.  After attending USC in Los Angeles, he began working in film production and produced computer-generated visual effects for 14 movies including Independence Day which won the Academy Award for Visual Effects.   Steven's first tech company was Centropolis Effects that produced those CGI effects, and he eventually sold it to the German media conglomerate Das Werk when he was 28. Steven then produced some indie films and eventually went studio-side to develop and produce live-action features as a VP of Development & Production at 20th Century Fox (running the Die Hard and Wolverine franchises) and an EVP at DreamWorks Pictures for Kurtzman-Orci Productions where he worked on Star Trek, Transformers and more. In this episode of The Voices of War, I speak with Dr Samir Puri—former British diplomat, Senior Fellow at King's College London, and author of Westlessness: The Great Global Rebalancing—to explore the seismic global shift away from Western dominance. We unpack the concept of “Westlessness”, which Dr Puri defines as the psychological and strategic unravelling of the West's central role in global affairs. As traditional Western powers lose their edge—militarily, economically, and morally—new global actors like China, India, and coalitions like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) are stepping in to reshape the international system. But this isn't a story of collapse. Instead, it's about rebalancing—and the West's growing crisis of identity, cohesion, and moral authority. We discuss the rise of soft power from non-Western states, the consequences of Western hypocrisy in conflicts like Ukraine and Gaza, and how hybrid identities, populism, and cultural fragmentation are transforming politics at home. Dr Puri also reflects on whether a multipolar world could be fairer—and what risks it might bring. Katrīna Priede skaidro, ka katra prakse, kas to dara [veic profilaktiskās apskate], organizē to atšķirīgi.

Here's the thing: If  you don't rise to the occasion. You sink to the level of your practice. And even for most execs? That level can be none. Varun Puri—ex-Google, debate shark, and co-founder of Yoodli—is done watching smart people blow it because they never practiced the one thing that matters: how they sound when it counts. Yoodli isn't a coach. And, It's not “content.” It's your AI interview  sparring partner— built to catch every “um,” dodge every ramble, and turn your half-baked answers into mic-drop moments. That's why Korn Ferry, Google, Snowflake, Databricks, and use it—because nothing kills a deal faster than a boring, muddled interview.   In this episode: The painful reason brilliant execs still tank interviews The three invisible habits that scream “don't hire me” How to stack 15,000 practice reps without begging for anyone's time Why public speaking fear beats fear of death (and what to do about it) What actually changes when feedback is instant and can't be ignored Listen now. In this episode of Productivity Smarts, host Gerald J. Leonard chats with Steven Puri, a former Hollywood studio executive turned entrepreneur. Steven has worked on blockbuster films like Independence Day and Transformers, but today he's focused on helping remote workers stay productive, happy, and focused through his company, Sukha.   Steven shares his personal journey and what led him to rethink productivity. Instead of chasing long hours and constant hustle, he now believes in working with intention and finding flow. He talks about how our environment, like having a creative workspace, can really boost performance. Drawing from his Hollywood background, he explains how the same creative principles can apply to remote work.   The conversation also dives into Sukha, an AI-powered tool he created to help people manage overwhelm. It helps users stay focused by organizing tasks, using music to encourage deep work, and creating simple, structured workflows.   Throughout the episode, you'll hear plenty of practical tips, like how to mentally “commute” to your home office, how to work in sync with your body's natural energy patterns (your chronotype), and how to use AI as a support tool rather than a replacement for creativity.   What We Discuss [02:01] Introduction to Steven Puri [05:49] Evolution of productivity: Then vs. now [09:22] Steven's film industry background [11:24] Legacy and meaningful work [12:47] Flow state: Hollywood lessons for remote work [16:48] Environmental triggers and productivity barriers [19:44] Morning routines and focus [21:54] Leadership lessons from film for remote teams [28:30] Chronotypes and personal productivity rhythms [30:20] Maintaining boundaries in remote work [33:35] AI and the future of remote productivity [36:44] How to connect with Steven   Notable Quotes   [07:40] "Now, I really measure my productivity by the effect, not by how many hours I work." – Steven Puri   [08:39] "I was just burning the candle at both ends and being really productive, but after I recovered, I realized I was more productive by being mindful and intentional." – Gerald J. Leonard   [21:47] "You talk a lot about purpose and intention. These are powerful. When you apply them, powerful things happen." – Steven Puri   [24:28] "It's always about the other thing. The part of your mind that does the cool, 'ooh, peanut butter and chocolate' — that can only function when you have something else to focus on." – Steven Puri   [35:33] "It's not AI that's replacing you.
