The wait is nearly over – Liverpool kick-off their Premier League campaign at home to West Ham United on Sunday. And we’ve got a full preview of the Anfield clash in our latest podcast. The pod features our very own Liverpool FC correspondent James Pearce, who has been with the Reds every step of the way this summer, in England, America, France and Ireland.James gives us the latest from inside the buzzing Liverpool camp, explains the fine line that Jurgen Klopp is trying to tread, and how he expects the Reds to line-up on Sunday. The pod also features an interview with the West Ham writer for the Football.London website, Sam Inkersole, who explains how the ugly scenes that marred the Hammers’ 3-0 home loss to Burnley in March was the catalyst for a summer of change that saw Manuel Pellegrini replace David Moyes in the hotseat and see nearly £100m splashed on new signings.Sam also talks former £35m Reds forward Andy Carroll and why a confident West Ham will fancy their chances on Sunday. The podcast also features audio from Klopp’s press conference on Friday – including his brilliant three-minute response to the question of whether his Liverpool side can lift the club’s first league title since 1990.He references Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago and, like the rest of the pod, it’s well worth a listen. Finally we make it down to the end of the yellow brick road for the final game of Liverpool's Premier League season. And it's not quite done yet for Jurgen Klopp and his players. At least Chelsea's surprise midweek draw at home to Huddersfield Town has left the Reds needing only a point against Brighton and Hove Albion to secure Champions League football next season. It means there should be a party atmosphere at Anfield to wave the team off to Kiev.In the latest Blood Red podcast, regular host and Liverpool reporter Ian Doyle is joined by ECHO triumvirate Kristian Walsh, Paul Gorst and Dan Kay to assess the last few days.First up is a brief discussion on the top-four race, and why the Reds are better off having something to play for on the final day.The virtues of the returning Adam Lallana are discussed, while Mohamed Salah again gets a mention or three. All are impressed with Sadio Mane considering he's meant to be having an indifferent season. And Dan raises concerns over supporters heading out to Kiev and how once again they are being hit in the pocket for a big European final. It's informative. It's lively. And once again it's essential.Enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
