From the dust and fumes of Utapau, new heroes rise to face the tyranny of the fractured Galactic Empire. Join Dathies Marr and Ayzzan "Ace" Bek as they embark on a quest to rid the southern systems of Mas Amedda's Imperial Loyalists!
In the Book of Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker presented Grogu with Yoda's lightsaber from Revenge of the Sith! This was a huge surprise, since many of us thought Yoda's lightsaber was long gone. In this episode, I'm going to explain the retcon of Yoda's lightsaber from the canon star wars comics, as well as how I think Yoda picked his lightsaber up from his duel with Palpatine in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith in the senate arena while Anakin fought Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. I'm down with this retcon, I think Yoda's lightsaber should show up instead of being destroyed by Mas Amedda after Order 66 on the Jedi. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Two really fun episodes! I enjoyed these ones particularly because of the senate dealings which really dived into the transition of the stormtrooper army from the clones. I love how we got Rex and Palpatine returning in these. We enter the senate and Rampart and Chuchi go head to head. She makes a massive claim that he was responsible for diverting Kaminoan funding outside of cloning without senate approval. The crowd makes noise as Rampart tries to move on from the question as she grills him. She then goes for it and accuses him of destroying Tipoca City himself. She's voted out of the senate for such a claim until the boys hand Omega the files, who hands it to Bail, who hands it to Senator Chuchi. They play the recording for all to see, and it's the Venators destroying Tipoca City. The jig is up, and I couldn't believe they actually showed this, I thought it'd be all over for the empire, until the floor opens up just as it did when yoda fought palpatine, and we see Palpatine in his pod, rising, Mas Amedda next to him. Ian McDiarmid voicing Palptine as he should, brilliantly twists the scenario into his favour. They arrest Rampart, and blame him for being rogue. He thanks Chuchi for exposing a rogue element in the empire's ranks. Palpatine says he'll be punished, however, he didn't act alone. He blames the clones, too, and asks the senate if they really trust such a callous maneuver by such beings. He believes this legislation is their future, and that the imperial storm troopers will protect everyone from such things ever happening again. Brilliantly he had a backup plan should he be exposed, and the twisted everything to his advantage. The fate of all clones are now doomed from this. Either way, they were doomed. ... He is a very important character within our overall Star Wars storyline. Listen in.
The clone renaissance is in full swing as Stephanie and Allison discuss episodes 7 and 8 of The Bad Batch! The two break down whether or not Mas Amedda deserves "Blue Boy" status, refrain from singing The Monkees, opine the innocence of Omega, speculate the future of clones in the galaxy and curse the continuing manipulations of ole Emperor Palps! The Bad Batch is kicking into high gear and A Talk Of The Clones is feeling the big Star Wars feelings so listen today!
The Batch botch a mission (again!) and end up helping a familiar, furry Jedi in "Tribe." Then, we we're pleasantly surprised with a 2-episode drop this past week! "The Clone Conspiracy" and "Truth and Consequences" give us a crash-course in space politics as Rampart, Mas Amedda, and Emperor Palpatine employ every unsavory method they can to ensure the passage of the Imperial Defense Recruitment Bill - which ultimately will give rise to the Galactic Stormtrooper program. All in all, three incredibly satisfying episodes! Be sure to follow us on Twitter @DistantEchoesSW or Instagram @DistantEchoesSW. Plus you can send us questions to DistantEchoesSW@gmail.com. We are back to discuss a big double episode with The Bad Batch 207 and 208. We discuss both The Clone Conspiracy and Truth and Consequences in spoiler filled detail. Is this The Bad Batch's animated Andor? The Bad Batch 207 "Entombed" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode 207 Written by: Ezra Nachman Episode 207 Directed By: Nathaniel Villanueva Episode 208 Written by: Damani Johnson Episode 208 Directed By: Steward Lee Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz On the planet Coruscant, Slip and Cade, two disaffected clone troopers, discuss their mission with Admiral Rampart on Kimino. Cade reveals that he's shared an ultimatum with the deceptive Imperial Officer. Either Rampart reveals his part in the destruction of Kamino or Cade will tell the Senate himself. But a sniper bullet rings out and Cade is silenced, sending Slip on the run.In the senate, Emperor Palapatine's representative Mas Amedda, warns that following the destruction of the cloning facilities on Kamino and the accelerated aging of the clone army a new military needs to be formed. Admiral Rampart has a Galactic Recruitment Bill ready to go but the vocal Senator Riyo Chuchi from the moon of Pantora opposes any new military plan that excludes reparations for the Clone army. As the clones have no representation in the senate, Chuchi reaches out to troopers to offer her help and meets with Slip who tells her all about Admiral Rampart's hand in the destruction of Kamino. Senator Bail Organa also suspects the premature end to the clone programme isn't a coincidence. As Senator Chuchi tries to convince Slip to testify in front of the senate the sniper hits his mark again and Slip is killed. But with the help of former Captain Rex they capture the Sniper and learn he's been created as the perfect assassin as he kills himself to protect Rampart. Captain Rex calls in The Bad Batch to retrieve the damning evidence from Ramparts Venator to confirm his involvement in the attack. When it is revealed to the senate, Rampart is arrested and Emperor Palpatine seizes his opportunity. With the revelation that the Clone Troopers are just soldiers who unquestioningly follow orders he proposes a new age heralded by the Imperial Stormtrooper. Realising that they've played right into his hands Senator Chuchi vows to continue her fight against him and Echo makes the decision to leave the Bad Batch and help Rex as he can't turn his back on his Clone brothers. The Bad Batch Cast Dee Bradley Baker as Hunter, Echo, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair and Rex. Michelle Ang as Omega Jennifer Hale as Senator Riyu Chuchi Phil LaMarr as Senator Bail Organa Jonathan Lipow as Gungi Noshir Dalal as Vice Admiral Rampart Stephen Stanton as Mas Amedda Jameelah McMillan as Halle Burtoni Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine Feedback for Star Wars The Bad Batch 207 Once you've watched the episodes you can email us to feedback@tvpodcastindustries.com, you can message us @TVPodIndustries on Twitter or join our Facebook group at https://facebook.com/groups/tvpodcastindustries and share your thoughts in our spoiler posts for each episode. [SPOILERS] We start the final episode off at the Repaak Salyard on Ferrix, where Wilmon Paak builds a pipe bomb with the hologram of his late father next to him to inspire his fight against the empire. as we flip over to Dedra landing in a T4-A lambda class shuttle. Whenever you see one of these, there's usually a high ranking Imperial in there, or Vader or Palpatine themselves with troopers. Bixx is recovering from the torture sessions the ISB put her through. Cassian's buddy Brasso meets with the guy who told Cassian about his mother's death over the phone, Xan, and reveals to him that Cassian called. They both keep walking to avoid any lurking eyes and ears of the empire, as they know spies are everywhere waiting for Cassian to arrive for Maarva's funeral. We see Cintra walking the streets of Ferrix while Corv is oblivious for the time being. I think it would have been fun to see Palpatine dissolve some of the nay sayers in the senate, including Mon Mothma, or at least have Mas Amedda in there. I would have liked to have seen more Senate scenes, however the end credit scene was delivered nicely with the death star being built. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
[SPOILERS] Episode 4 I really enjoyed. While I feel casual Star Wars fans may find it too slow, I found it to be really engaging with the lore and overall trajectory of where the show will go. I think Andor is on its way to be a really great show with what I just saw. The show dives into the cogs and gears of the empire as well as the early formation of the rebellion and I can't wait to see more of the smaller characters as well as the bigger main ones. Such as Mas Amedda, sly Moore, krennic, Tarkin, thrown, Vader, and Palpatine. -To get your new wireless plan for just 15 bucks a month, and get the plan shipped to your door for FREE, go to MINTMOBILE.com/swt. -Get 20% Off and Free Shipping with the code [SWTHEORY] at Manscaped.com. -Download the DraftKings Sportsbook app NOW and use promo code SWT to get TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS in FREE bets INSTANTLY when you place a five-dollar bet this Sunday! -Start hiring NOW with a SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLAR SPONSORED JOB CREDIT to sponsor your job post at Indeed.com/STARWARSTHEORY. Welcome to 2021! We start off the new year with Star Wars. Discussing authoritarianism, totalitarianism, and the politics and government of the Empire. Notes:3:01 - Hence the term "totalitarianism." An attempt at total control of all aspects of state and society. 3:12 - This is not to say that authoritarian governments don't have secret police or spy on their people. There is, of course, lots of overlap between these regimes. The point is that totalitarian regimes use these tools to control society and mobilize the people in a way that authoritarian regimes don't. 6:50 - Admiral Motti would be the unlucky individual who mocks the force and gets choked for it in Episode IV. 8:45 - You could justify this by pointing out that Luke lives on the fringes of the Empire on a backwater planet. The thing is, we are never shown anything else. If the Empire actually does have extensive propaganda glorifying Palpatine, we really should see it somewhere in the trilogy. 10:45 - Discussing the "Tarkin Doctrine." 13:06 - Discussing Syria and "Hama Rules." 15:38 - Ba'athism is an interesting political ideology that developed in the Arab world in the mid-20th Century. It never really found any success as a movement but it was co-opted by both the Assads and Saddam Hussein as a means to legitimize their rule. 17:31 - Along with thugs outside the government like the SA (Brownshirts) who did the dirty work. 20:09 - Looked him up. His name is Mas Amedda. He's got a backstory but it doesn't seem to answer the question I have about Palpatine's base of support. Intro and outro music: "Swim below as Leviathans" by Fireproof_Babies (featuring Ben Shewmaker) is licensed under CC BY.
