Weekly host Blaine welcomes and gives an overview for the episode to begin (0:02). Once Donovan and Adam join, Blaine describes how he managed to miss the last few episodes of 'The Bear' and it has everything to do with the Disney+ series 'Andor' (2:08). Also in the non-spoiler section, the guys have an email on 'Your Friends & Neighbors' on Apple TV+ (7:42), they discuss how 'Stick' is addressing all of their concerns (9:10), and somehow the non-spoiler talk about 'The Bear' turns into a treatise on smoking (11:38). After the break, they detail how 'Stick' became even better (16:13) and how 'The Bear' needed season three for the current season four (35:36). We feel pretty confident that most sane Andor viewers skipped right from “Who Else Knows?” (S2, E11) into the finale. Turns out, there's still a LOT to discuss in the penultimate episode of Andor ever.We spent significant time this week digging into ISB hierarchies, and how the rise and fall of ambitious Imperials has hollowed out the Empire's institutions. We dissect ISB politics and competency through lenses of race and gender. We also paint parallels between Luthen Rael and French revolutionary Charles de Gaulle, and delight in Rebel downtime.New to Growing Up Skywalker? Send us a textThe rebellion's darkest hour becomes Star Wars' finest achievement in Andor Season 2's concluding episodes. We dive deep into how Tony Gilroy crafted a masterclass in tension, political intrigue, and character development that forever changes our understanding of the Star Wars universe. The Gorman massacre stands as perhaps the most haunting sequence ever created in Star Wars - a perfectly constructed trap that shows the Empire's ruthless calculus and leaves us questioning how we'd respond in similar circumstances. This leads to fascinating discussions about Syril Karn's moral journey: is his horror at witnessing genocide enough to redeem his previous actions, or does his confrontation with Dedra only further complicate his character?Mon Mothma emerges as the unexpected MVP of these episodes, delivering a Senate speech that rivals anything in the franchise for political tension. The procedural details - senators yielding their time, parliamentary maneuvers - create an authenticity rarely seen in science fiction. This groundwork makes her eventual leadership of the Rebellion all the more earned and meaningful. The Force makes its first significant appearance through the mysterious healer who identifies Cassian as a "messenger" - a subtle but powerful reminder that even in this grounded take on Star Wars, cosmic forces still guide the galaxy's fate. Meanwhile, Luthen's capture and Kleya's difficult decision to ensure he doesn't fall into Imperial hands delivers emotional devastation without feeling manipulative.Perhaps most satisfying is how perfectly these episodes connect to Rogue One, answering questions we didn't even know we had. From Cassian's pre-existing knowledge of Galen Erso to his partnership with the newly-reprogrammed K-2SO, every element enriches our understanding of his journey toward Scarif. The show demonstrates how prequels should function - not just filling gaps, but transforming our perspective on what comes after. Why does this series resonate so deeply? Because it never forgets that resistance requires sacrifice, that freedom fighters aren't always heroic, and that hope often comes at terrible cost. Andor depicts the messy, complicated birth of a rebellion with unflinching honesty - proving that Star Wars can deliver sophisticated adult storytelling without sacrificing what made us fall in love with this galaxy far, far away.Twitter handles:Project Geekology: https://twitter.com/pgeekologyAnthony's Twitter: https://twitter.com/odysseyswowDakota's Twitter: https://twitter.com/geekritique_dakInstagram:https://instagram.com/projectgeekology?igshid=1v0sits7ipq9yYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@projectgeekologyGeekritique (Dakota):https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBwciIqOoHwIx_uXtYTSEbASupport the show

Joe Ochman is an American actor who is most active in voice over roles in various animation shows, films, and video games. He is the fourth and current voice of Jiminy Cricket since 2014.Within a mural of a Ghorlectipod, or Ghorman spider from the planet Ghorman, if one looks closely, the body of the spider is the face of an iconic Star Wars villain - Darth Maul. X (formerly Twitter) user Jammin333 noted that the mosaic design is a deliberate homage to Darth Maul.“Andor production designer Luke Hull shared one of the gorgeous Ghorlectipod spider mosaics from the Ghorman cafe. This one appears to embody Darth Maul, who at one point in The Clone Wars became half cyber-spider. Love the design details down to the inverted crescent moon chin,” Jammin333 said in their post.During the Saturday update, Rebirth received another prediction, with the film looking at a worldwide opening of $312.5 million, ahead of the initial projection of $260 million. That leads to the second-biggest global opening of the year, just behind A Minecraft Movie, which dangerously neared $1 billion and ended its run at $953.1 million, and ahead of Lilo & Stitch, which is soon set to surpass the former as it has already grossed $951.5 million worldwide.Rebirth won't have the biggest opening in the Jurassic franchise, as it trails behind Jurassic World's $525 million. The film also has the second-best offshore opening so far, behind the Chinese animation Ne Zha 2, and ahead of Lilo & Stitch. Jurassic World Rebirth also had the best Fourth of July haul for a No. 1 film post-COVID-19, and it outranked 2024's Despicable Me 4.

Send us a textWhat started as a harmless discussion about the greatest space opera ever created quickly turned into a high stakes game of Six Degrees of Star Wars. With lives on the line and reputations hanging in the balance we do our best to steer the conversation into a more on brand format, with a twist. And of course none of this happened organically or unplanned. That never happens on this show! It's the most magical of baseball holidays: Bobby Bonilla Day! Baseball's most legendary deferred payment continues, and Pete has the updated list of players who will be cashing checks long after their cleats hit the shelf. Bobby may have been the first, but he's no longer alone.Meanwhile, the trade deadline is just a month away, but you'd never know it. After what looked like a hot start (Rafael Devers), the stove is lukewarm at best, and the rumor mill is oddly quiet. Should we be concerned, or are the GMs just waiting each other out? Both the Cardinals and Cubs are trending up, but with very different outlooks. Elliott and Pete are both on board with the Cubs buying — aggressively, if possible — but Ron is still waiting on the Cardinals to make good on their promise to clear the deck and let the kids take the wheel. Finally, peer pressure pays off, as Pete has agreed to watch Andor. Yes, really. But before you question his judgment, he redeems himself by delivering the finest outro in ToR history. You be the judge.Check out this week's livestream on YouTube, Rumble, Facebook, or X.Follow us on X and Instagram. This podcast has never been above (or below) using a title to click-bait you into listening and this episode maintains that high standard. But rest assured, that's not all that is discussed: the guys delve into F1, that New York Times Top 100 movies of the 21st Century list, the miracle that is Andor, what the Anchorman pitch meeting must have been like, Rob has a moral dilemma in Egypt, a very weird Broadway play, Jonah has a bad experience with an EV, and is Peter Thiel actually the Anti-Christ? We report, you decide.

And the death count grows. This week, in “Make It Stop” (Andor S2 E10), everyone is either leveling up, going rogue—or shuffling off this mortal coil. As we get booted another year forward in time, we talk through Lonni's growth into a true spymaster and Dedra's grief curdling even deeper into fanaticism.
