Welcome to Hollywood and Beyond Podcast with Cincinnati Host Steven Brittingham Hollywood and Beyond Podcast:Created, Produced, Edited, Sound, Guests Booked by, and Hosted by Steven Brittingham Show Theme by: Dario Saraceno State Of Slay Promo by: Carrie Genzel He is BACK!! The man behind schemer Adam Carrington on ABC’s DYNASTY returns to share even more television memories with Host Steven Brittingham. Including his latest appearance in Genoa City as a mysterious man from Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) past on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (CBS). Gordon Thomson shared so many memories of his career with me during his first visit. His discussion this time around is no different. This is definitely not a repeat. Fresh topics including even more DYNASTY memories not previously discussed, his experience recently on Y&R, and his detailed comments about portraying Mason Capwell on SANTA BARBARA are even more in-depth. Plus we discuss other talented co-stars we didn’t get to talk about last time including Jack Coleman (Steven Carrington) from DYNASTY and Nancy Lee Grahn from Santa Barbara, and his positive comments about Lauralee Bell (Y&R). One of the moments I truly enjoyed was Gordon’s thoughts on Terri Garber. He was not only very impressed with her artistry but also found her to be someone with a rare combination of both beauty and as he put it “a profound depth to her.” His latest theater role, his life today, his upfront opinions about the craft of acting, it is indeed an honor having Gordon back. It is also good to know I can get him to break out in spontaneous laughter here and there like our first encounter. This conversation with Gordon is sentimental, in-depth and a very detailed trip back down memory lane with an actor who is a prime example of excellence. Enjoy the show! Melissa Claire Egan discusses her return to Y&R as Chelsea, her ALL MY CHILDREN years and her new Hallmark movie with Digest's Stephanie Sloane and Mara Levinsky. Plus, we debate the merits of soaps' special episodes.
In this weeks TV Source Podcast, we go live with our reactions to the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy’s! Who killed it on the red carpet, who won big and who took home someone else’s award? Taped: May 7, 2019Producer: Johnathon K. Hot Topics Yall won. Stephen Nichols is back at DAYS! Billy Flynn and Kate Mansi are also back after a short break. Has the break been too short? Thaao Penghlis spills that he and Leann Hunley will also be back in Salem. Melissa Claire Egan will return to YR like we all expected and Gina Tognoni wraps filming [insert sad face]. Daytime Emmy’s The 46th annual Daytime Emmy Awards hit streaming but didn’t go off without many hitches. Starting with the awkwardness of the red carpet. There were fashion highs and lows and stupid questions from hosts who should have known better. Also, while being seamless last year, this years stream hit a snag. A 20 minute long snag and viewers were left in the dark during 2 major categories. The show did do one thing right, and it was the tributes to the many starts of daytime who have reached milestones in their careers and others who have left us too soon. Guest Performer went so someone who was an actual guest and not a former contract role. So there’s that. Young Actor and Actress is also a source on contention due to what is often perceived as “slim picking,” but not all of us disagreed with Kyler Pettis and Hayley Erin taking home their awards. Supporting Actress went to a WOC but maybe not the one we were rooting for. TVS favorite, Bryton James lost Supporting Actor, but to another worthy contender. While we may be split on who we think should have taken Lead Actress, we are unified on the Lead Actor winner being some ol BS. The Young and the Restless swept the big 3: Writing, Directing and Drama Series and… we’re ok with that. I mean, who doesn’t love a petty win? Mal Young sure didn’t seem to mind! So will these Emmy wins, or more importantly, losses bring change to some of the shows? Also is there any network out there, anyone at all, who can pick up this show and put it back on television where it belongs?
