Today on the show we're discussing Michigan Basketball and that loss to Seton Hall last night, the College Football Playoff rankings, Michigan/Michigan State football, and much more. We were joined by some of our great insiders to get their thoughts on our various topics for today. We talked about that Michigan basketball loss last night, and how unimpressive their shooting looked. Ant Wright joined us to give us his thoughts on the game and to talk about the Michigan nation and how they're handling the loss. We kicked off the second hour talking about the CFB playoff rankings that were released last night. We were joined by Eric Edholm to get first impressions of the rankings, and we also talked a little about Stafford and Goff.  News then broke that MSU is supposedly close to signing a 10-year $95 Million deal with Mel Tucker - so Huge gave his opinion how great this would be true. We were joined by David Jesse, who actually broke the story, to get his insight on this story and what it could mean for the Spartans. Jim Brandstatter joined Huge to start the final hour today. They talked about the Michigan football game against Maryland this weekend, as well as the path moving forward. We wrapped up the show with our friend Tim McCullough from the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Live from the no panic zone—I'm Steve Gruber—I am America's Voice—God Bless America this is the Steve Gruber Show—FIERCE AND FEARLESS – in Pursuit of the truth—   Here are 3 big things you need to know right now—   ONE— The Michigan Attorney General's over indulgence during the Michigan Michigan State game—has become a big topic of conversation—But is it important? I'm not convinced—   TWO— The U-S Chamber says the idea that spending Trillions of dollars is free—is just an accounting trick by Democrats to hide the real cost of the Progressive spending spree—   THREE— An outrageous comment from President Joe Biden—has everyone talking—well except those in the mainstream media—and of course it's being blocked on some social media sights too—   But Joe still thinks its 1955 and his hero—the Grand Cyclops of the Klu Klux Klan—Robert Byrd is still involved as a Democrat from West Virginia—I mean this comment is so far beyond the pale—it is simply grotesque—but of course its crickets from the mainstream media—   SO I thought you should decide—and its among the two most important things I heard this week—and I will let you weigh in on which is the biggest—

On the 61st episode of “Great Dane Nation,” Morten is joined by Dodgers, Tigers and Michigan State legend Kirk Gibson (06:55 – 01:10:01). But first, he checks in with TommyFreezePops (Tom Carroll) for this week's edition of the “Opening Kick” (01:06 – 06:03). Morten talks about his amazing sports weekend – watching his Spartans in-person as they took down their arch rivals to remain undefeated, followed by attending World Series Game 5 between the Braves and Astros. We then move to our interview with Kirk Gibson, where he discusses a wide range of topics: his first impressions of Morten, and why he had big shoes to fill (09:19); his journey at Michigan State, going from a program on probation to winning the Big Ten in his senior season (10:24); why the Tigers were the only team Kirk was willing to be drafted by in baseball, and it's not because he's a local boy from Michigan (13:36); some of Morten's favorite memories from his time as teammates with Kirk at Michigan State (15:54); how they feel about the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry, and why Kirk loves Mel Tucker with the Spartans (17:29); the importance of positive self-talk (20:22); why he took losses harder than anyone else, and how that attitude wasn't accepted right away when he arrived in Los Angeles (24:01); why his iconic home run in game 1 of the 1988 World Series was only a small part of the reason that team won the title (29:21); the amazing backstory of his iconic home run against the Athletics (32:12); his thoughts on the 2021 Dodgers falling short of the World Series (39:32); the Tigers hiring A.J. Hinch after his controversy in Houston, and what constitutes “cheating” in competition (40:51); what he would do to make the game of baseball more enjoyable to watch (44:47); what his “moment of truth” was when he was at the plate (49:16); why positive visualization was important to him as a player, and remains important to him as he fights Parkinson's disease (52:25); his battle with Parkinson's disease, and the keys to why he's doing so well (54:59); and this week's edition of “The Name Game,” featuring Sparky Anderson, Alan Trammell, Fernando Valenzuela and Phil Hickey (59:49).Then we move to this week's edition of “Morten's Fast 5,” where our Hall of Famer makes picks for the five biggest games of the football weekend (01:12:03 – 01:19:24). Morten gives his picks for Falcons at Saints (01:13:02), Packers at Chiefs (01:14:27), Browns at Bengals (01:15:23), Titans at Rams (01:16:04), and Bills at Jaguars (01:17:23).Finally, we close things out with “Morten's Game Winner” – a weekly monologue from The Great Dane on his biggest takeaway of the week. This week, Morten talks about Bernie Kosar's journey, and how his resiliency through his post-football struggles has been inspiring (01:19:24).

Michigan/Harbaugh blow another one, MSU rising, did a new candidate emerge at LSU Saturday + Scott Frost done at Nebraska?

It's Monday and we've got a loaded Aaron Torres Podcast! Aaron reacts to another wild college football Saturday, wondering what Michigan does after another devastating loss, and if a new candidate has emerged as a front-runner at LSU. Then he talks Ohio State's win, Georgia's domination and if Saturday was the (un)official end for Scott Frost at Nebraska?Michigan-Michigan State and another devastating loss for Harbaugh: Aaron opens the show by discussing Michigan-Michigan State (2:00). MSU won, but the real story was at Michigan, where the Wolverines suffered another devastating loss under Jim Harbaugh (9:00). Is it time to admit that Michigan will always be good, but never great under Harbaugh? And if so, what should they do from there? Also, a quick shout out to the rise of Michigan State and whether Kenneth Walker has emerged as the Heisman Trophy favorite (21:30). Did a new candidate emerge at LSU + Ohio State and is Scott Frost done at Nebraska?: From there, Aaron rips through the rest of the Week 9 slate. He wonders if a new "best" candidate has emerged for LSU (it's not who you think) and adds two names that he believes could've been hurt by their performances this weekend (29:00). Then from there he talks Ohio State's win, Georgia domination, and wonders if Scott Frost is officially done at Nebraska following another loss at Nebraska, to drop them to 3-6 overall (1:00:03).

Is this the last dance season for the Astros' core, as we know it? If the Braves run away with this series, is it indicative that the National League was better than the American League this year? Did the NL have more true contenders than the AL did? Then, they shift their attention to college football and get you caught up on all the weekend's scores, stories and news (24:25 - END). Jack and Chad provide their updated top 25 rankings, share their displeasure with Iowa and Pittsburgh (and the ACC for that matter), and talk Michigan State's Kenneth Walker entering the Heisman conversation, the TCU Horned Frogs parting ways with longtime head coach Gary Patterson, Michigan falling to Michigan State, Cincinnati's chances at the College Football Playoff, the best from the group of five conferences, and more!

It's almost November which means election season is once again upon us and Patrick and Seth take a look at what's a now surprisingly close race for the governorship in Virginia while Seth gives his on-the-ground insights of the landscape in New Jersey The boys then take a look at the top NFL matchups of the week including a banger of a Thursday night game between the Packers and still undefeated Arizona Cardinals (as well as where the best place to hang out and watch that game is). Over in college football, Ohio State looks to beef up their postseason resume with a top-25 primetime matchup, and Auburn and Ole Miss both look to make a statement as a strong finish to the season could propel either into a prestigious post-New Years bowl game. And finally, the Gators take on Georgia in what was formally known as the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Which is a good reminder that this podcast has a two-drink minimum.
