2025 Detroit Lions Training Camp Kickoff: Key Storylines and Early Standouts Training Camp 2025 is officially underway, and the excitement surrounding the Detroit Lions is at an all-time high. In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, titled "2025 Detroit Lions Training Camp Kickoff," Chris, Jeff Risdon, and Michael Grey dive into the most important developments from the first few days of camp. From early injury updates—including concerns surrounding Levi Onwuzurike—to how the Detroit Lions depth chart is taking shape, we've got it all covered. We also highlight the impact of the new coaches and break down which Detroit Lions players to watch as we move deeper into camp. Unfortunately, no NFL training camp is without its bumps and bruises. The Lions have already seen some injuries affect player availability, including a troubling development for defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike. The former second-round pick has struggled to stay on the field in recent seasons, and an early Levi Onwuzurike injury update has fans and coaches concerned. We discuss what we know so far, how this could impact the defensive rotation, and what it means for his future with the team. In addition to Onwuzurike, we take a broader look at other Detroit Lions injuries as camp opens and how they're affecting roster battles, especially at key depth positions. This is the first training camp with several new coaches on staff, and their presence is already being felt. From fresh schemes to different practice tempos, the Lions' staff is bringing energy and innovation. We discuss how the new offensive and defensive coordinators are adjusting, and which position groups are responding most to the new leadership. As always, Detroit Lions players to watch is a must-discuss segment. We highlight a few rookies making early waves, second-year players looking to leap, and some veterans on the bubble. The early days of training camp 2025 are already shaping the Detroit Lions depth chart, and we break down who's climbing and who might be falling behind. Detroit Lions Podcast: Risdon Takes on National Media Takes Jeff Risdon looks at the Detroit Lions narratives being pushed by national media members. Will the Lions fall apart in 20205 or will they win their third consecutive title? Will Dan Campbell manage to survive losing both of his coordinators? Will Jared Goff crumble under the pressure of the changes on the line and staff? There are reasons to think the Detroit Lions might take a step back in 2025, but do they outweigh things like not having 22 defensive players on IR or getting Aiden Hutchenson back? You know how to find out what Jeff Risdon thinks. Detroit Lions Podcast: 2025 OTA Week 1 Wrap-Up, Ragnow Updates, and Preseason Outlook The first week of 2025 OTA workouts is officially in the books, and the Detroit Lions are already making headlines as they set the tone for what could be another dominant season in the NFL. In this week's episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff Risdon break down everything you need to know about OTA progress so far, insights from Coach Dan Campbell's press conference, a closer look at the newly released Detroit Lions preseason schedule, and what the absence of minicamp means for player development. We also address growing questions surrounding team leaders Frank Ragnow and Alex Anzalone. Spring workouts have kicked off with energy and intensity in Allen Park. Players are getting back into rhythm, rookies are getting their first taste of NFL practice tempo, and the foundation is being laid for the 2025 season. With OTA Week 1 now complete, there's been strong praise for the team's preparation and chemistry. However, in a not so surprising development, the Detroit Lions announced they will not hold a traditional minicamp this year. Evidently, the addition of a 4th preseason game (the NFL Hall of Fame Game) and the fact that the Detroit Lions will be starting training camp early as a result caused the team to opt out of having mandatory minicamp this year. This will also help temper the need to answer questions about contracts if players aren't there... One of the biggest storylines coming out of OTA Week 1 is the uncertainty around Frank Ragnow. While the All-Pro center has not made any formal announcements, his absence and cryptic comments about physical wear-and-tear are raising questions about his long-term plans—and potentially his contract status. We discuss what's known, what's rumored, and what the Lions might do next. We also touch on Alex Anzalone, who is going into the last year of his contract and likely wants to rework the deal to match his status as a leader on the defense. Lastly, the Detroit Lions schedule for the 2025 NFL preseason is out. We highlight key matchups, especially those that could serve as proving grounds for fringe roster players and newly drafted talent. For full analysis of 2025 OTA developments, press conference takeaways, the Detroit Lions schedule, and updates on Frank Ragnow, tune in to this week's Detroit Lions Podcast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFqE8XIuQ0c Let us know what you think about the show by commenting in the podcast thread in the subreddit, or by leaving us a voice mail message via Skype at: Detroit Lions Podcast Your input will help make the show better, and if you leave us a message on Skype, you just might be featured in an upcoming podcast!
