He had his own stint in prison, which nearly ended his football career, if it weren't for a lucky encounter with a guard who just happened to have played under Micky Adams. Fast forward to his time at Brighton, Charlie shares the chaos: starting a 40-man brawl, stealing Razor Ruddock's car, the infamous D-baggings, and delivering one of the best impressions we've ever heard. After retirement, Charlie moved into football coaching, working alongside Gus Poyet at Sunderland, Real Betis, and Shanghai Shenhua, where he crossed paths with Carlos Tevez. Get yourself checked out!   Eliot Richards came through the academy at Bristol Rovers signing his first professional contract in the summer of 2009. Over the next five years, Eliot would go on to make over 100 appearances for the club during a difficult time which saw them twice relegated and fall out of the football league for the first time in their history. Following relegation, Eliot signed for Tranmere Rovers under the tutelage of Rob Edwards. Despite some early expectations following Eliot's arrival, Tranmere's seasons quickly spiralled out of control and Edwards was replaced by Micky Adams. Sent off on the opening day of the premier league era in August 1992 while playing for Southampton, Micky Adams was a player who could certainly be abrasive when he wanted to be! His playing career saw the flying full back motoring up and down the touchline for Coventry, Leeds United, Southampton and Fulham, while his managerial career saw him in the hotseat at Brighton, Leicester, Coventry, Port Vale, Tranmere and a brief spell in charge of his boyhood club Sheffield United. As a gaffer he’s had to work out many a troubled dressing room and deal with tricky customers like Pierre Van Hooijdonk, Martin Keown and a certain Dion Dublin, and he’s still here to tell the tale. Well, several tales actually, as Micky’s stories are legendary! This episode was recorded during remotely during the pandemic.
