Cheltenham Town's free-scoring midfielder Issac Hutchinson is actually a Bristol Rovers player. He's on loan at Cheltenham and travels up the M5 for training. But at 25 this is the 7th club he's played for as a professional footballer. In fact, Bristol took recalled him in January only to allow him to return to Cheltenham at the end of the month. Isaac's others clubs thus far: Southend United, Derby County, Forest Green Rovers, Crawley Town and Walsall. Where he's stayed for a while, Hutchinson has done well, but his story is typical of League and League 2 football - constant change and movement. In this conversation we talk about the challenge of a nomadic lifestyle, the lapsed friendships and the commitment required from Isaac's partner who has followed him around the country. We also discuss the skill of gelling quickly with new teammates on and off the pitch.Isaac was a big fan of Chelsea's all-time leading scorer Frank Lampard growing up and we talk about the importance of repetitive practice to hone those runs and finishes from midfield. I enjoyed this. I hope you do too. Being a pro player sounds very glamorous. But I have huge admiration for these guys' abilities to adapt to new environments amid such flux.

The Mariners unbeaten start to 2026 finally came to an end on Saturday, going down 3-1 at relegation threatened Bristol Rovers. Host Matt and the panel begin by dissecting that and the mid-week draw with Walsall before exploring our new Achilles heel of defending set-pieces, the impact squad rotation may have had on performances and how much we may rue points dropped against teams in the bottom half. The guys then discuss the biggest takeaways from the recent fans forum and have their say on the thorny issue of the Blundell Park pitch. In Part Two Tom Wagstaff from the “Notts County Talk” Podcast joins the conversation to help preview Town's trip to an in form Magpies side next Saturday and then the gang consider whether the play-offs are still a realistic aim for The Mariners with 14 games remaining.+++Hosted by Matt Dannatt with guests Liam Wood and Steve Claybourn. Town are hammered by Bristol Rovers, Alex finally attends a game — and may not be rushing back. Mike dies on a hill over corners and how to defend them, as we get stuck into double pivots, getting it in the mixer, and why we struggle against the so-called weaker sides in the division. Elis James' Feast Of Football

Did Elliot Lee tarnish his relationship with Wrexham by saying his is happy to join a manager who "values" him after moving to Doncaster Rovers on loan? After three successful consecutive promotions with the Reds, Lee has found himself surplus to requirements by Phil Parkinson. Should he feel aggrieved? Or is this purely the reality of professional football, especially when playing for an ambitions club like Wrexham?Lee is one of 10 players to leave Wrexham in January, allowing Parkinson to recruit three more new faces he feels will strengthen their promotion hopes. Swansea's only significant piece of business was signing Finland midfielder Leo Walta. Manager Vitor Matos has certainly steadied the ship - are there now realistic hopes of overcoming the eight-point gap to reach the play-off places?Cardiff's lead at the top of League is down to just two points, but remains a healthy eight-point cushion inside the automatic play-off places. Newport's heavy defeat to relegation rivals Bristol Rovers exposed yet more defensive frailties, while the underdog story continues in the Welsh Cup as two lower league sides reach the semi-finals.

Is Cardiff City's immediate return to the Championship an inevitability? The Bluebirds are now 10 points clear of the League One play-off places after a comfortable midweek win over Barnsley, prompting comparisons with Birmingham's march to the title last season.Life is far harder for Newport County, who failed to build on the feelgood factor of a rare win on Saturday by losing to fellow strugglers Accrington Stanley on Tuesday. Manager Christian Fuchs might insist his team are not in a relegation battle, but the coming games - starting with Bristol Rovers - could define their whole season.Wrexham showed their winning mentality with two added time goals to snatch a win at Queens Park Rangers that lifts them to the top six in the Championship for the first time this season. But an inexplicable handball and a missed open goal continued Swansea City's away woes. And Iwan and Sam share their Welsh Cup memories as the competition reaches the last eight - with several lower league clubs dreaming of lifting the cup and booking an unforgettable ticket to Europe.
