Ep 260 “The CottageCore AR-15” – National Gun Violence Awareness Month (Bullet Poof Bulletins) Celebrating the launch of eco-fiction anti-gun novella Bullet Poof and National Gun Violence Awareness Month, Avis Kalfsbeek brings back beloved Kitty O'Compost with the Bullet Poof Bulletins. Tonight on the Spoke-Easy stage, Kitty O'Compost deconstructs a truly bizarre update from the suburban backyard horticultural circuit. This bulletin satirizes an absolute logistical stir on Magnolia Lane, where a resident attempted a social experiment by bringing a highly customized rifle platform—the CottageCore AR-15—to a neighborhood garden club meeting. Refinished in matte sage green with hand-painted floral engravings and a custom tweed shoulder strap, the weapon was placed right next to heirloom tomato seedlings in an effort to launder an industry of fear by wrapping it in a cozy Pinterest aesthetic. Inspired by the grounding, collaborative themes of Bullet Poof, this episode laughs at this astonishing piece of self-delusion and reminds us that true safety is found when we stop investing in the profit of pain and start building relaxed community connection. Resources: Bullet Poof is a hopeful eco-fiction novella about what happens when ordinary people refuse to accept the gun status quo. Tonight on the Spoke-Easy stage, Kitty O'Compost breaks down a leaked corporate rebranding strategy that attempts to launder military hardware with a rustic aesthetic. This bulletin satirizes the weapon industry's use of heritage marketing and walnut wood paneling to rebrand tactical platforms as "wholesome, organic Americana." Inspired by the grounding, transformative themes of Bullet Poof, this episode laughs at the corporate attempt to camouflage violence with artisanal style and points us back to the real heritage found in creative community spaces. What happens when the stories behind history sound a little too familiar today? On this episode of The Amber May Show, Amber sits down with Robert “Tosh” Plumlee, a former CIA contract pilot who says he was at Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Within 48 hours, Tosh was in jail. His life and work took him deep into covert aviation operations across the Caribbean and Latin America, including weapons transfers, intelligence logistics, and clandestine missions tied to Cuba. Also joining the conversation is Ralph Pezzullo, New York Times bestselling author, screenwriter, playwright, and host of Heroes Behind Headlines. Ralph has written more than 30 books, including Jawbreaker, Inside SEAL Team Six, Zero Footprint, Left of Boom, Ghost, and his latest 2025 releases, The Great Chinese Art Heist and Stolen Elections: Takedown of Democracies Worldwide. This is not a history class. This is a hard look at the patterns. Amber asks the questions many Americans are asking right now: How do clandestine operations shape public perception? What can the JFK era teach us about today's intelligence battles? Are we seeing old tactics reused in new political fights? How should Americans view election fraud claims, the Russia hoax, and the assassination attempts against President Trump? Why does the media obsess over the cost of one war while downplaying the cost of another? The conversation also turns to Ukraine, Iran, and the way corporate media frames war spending depending on the political narrative of the moment. From Dealey Plaza to modern election fights, from intelligence operations to media spin, this episode pulls the curtain back on power, secrecy, and the stories Americans are told to believe. https://a.co/d/0i7B3lVI Join Me On Telegram https://t.me/theambermayshow Podcast Like A PRO https://podcast-like-a-pro.trainercentralsite.com Promocode Amber Discord https://discord.gg/kUsDba4zRj https://discord.com/channels/1331829063400034435/1331829063869792308 The Amber May Show Theme Song https://suno.com/song/87e27080-4ddb-47f7-8722-b00b251e6c84 Get AMAZING Amber May Merchandise https://www.ambermayshow.com/amazing-products Follow Me on Pickax https://pickax.com/?referralCode=gb4e11n&refSource=copy Get all your My Pillow Products at a DISCOUNT www.mypillow.com/amber Use Promo Code AMBER and save up to 66% off Promo code-AMBER 800-957-2123 Get Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine and SAVE Dr Stella Immanuel https://shop.drstellamd.com/?linkId=lp_080983&sourceId=amber-may&tenantId=rehoboth-medical-cli Use Promo Code AmberMay and save Become An Affiliate with Dr Stella https://rehoboth-medical-cli.trackdesk.com/sign-up?referralAccountId=1f8c94aa-933e-4aa8-ac5b-5a8d9a0d4508 Save Money When Using A Patient Advocate In The Medical System https://www.graithcare.com/?ref=Amber Take Control of Your Health & Healing! Welcome to our bi-monthly ENCORE PRESENTATION of classic REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE episodes from the vault! One of my favorite authors/writers/directors of all time, Jim Gavin (Jim's AMC show Lodge 49 is still one of the greatest series that has ever landed on Earth and those who have lived in it know that it's the truth) brought me a music doc about a band that is located deep within his heart, Don't Break Down, a film about Jawbreaker.(Episode 36 originally aired on May 16th, 2024). ORIGINAL SHOW NOTES:My guest this week is Jim Gavin (the creator of AMC's incredible series Lodge 49 and author of Middle Men), who chose to discuss the Jawbreaker documentary Don't Break Down. We talk about the band's grip on their fans, the eventual backlash against Jawbreaker, lyrics that destroy you, the Masonic world and the genesis of Lodge 49, East Coast punk vs. West Coast punk, Lilies/Broadcast/Stereolab and other sonic rabbit holes, creating imaginary mentors, the legendary Jabberjaw/L.A. scene, creating your own mythology about a band, obsessing over Blake's lyrics, the nature of imploding bands, the concept of selling out and Nirvana's success, music as time travel, looking for a specific sound and hiring a private detective to find a specific song.So please don't turn your back towards the band on this week's Revolutions Per Movie!!!JIM GAVIN:https://www.vogue.com/article/lodge-49-ode-the-best-television-show-you-missedhttps://twitter.com/jimatdeltacohttps://www.tigervanbooks.com/REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film or music videos to discuss. Send us Fan Mail In this episode, Marty gives Clif the movie Jawbreaker to watch and Clif gives Marty the movie Wrong to watch.First up is the dark teen satire Jawbreaker. When a birthday prank gone wrong leaves the most popular girl at school dead, a trio of queen bees scramble to cover up the crime. The guys explore the film's campy tone, its attempt at biting social satire, and whether its over the top aesthetic actually works. Then things get truly bizarre with the offbeat indie Wrong. The story follows a man searching for his missing dog, but the journey spirals into dream logic, unexplained symbolism, and scenes that feel deliberately disconnected from reality. Marty and Clif debate whether the film's surreal style is meaningful artistic expression or simply weird for the sake of being weird.Support the showFind our films here:The Love Song of William H ShawRevenge of ZoeWriting Fren-ZeeMaking Pondo on FacebookX (formerly Twitter):@MakingPondoInstagramMaking Pondo on Letterboxd:Season OneSeason TwoSeason ThreeSeason FourTheme Song "The Rain" by Russ PacePhotos by Geoffrey Notkin

Happy Potluck Saturday, Heal Squad. Today's dish comes courtesy of candy bars, wrestling legends, and an unexpected lesson about intelligence, performance, and vision. Kev and Anne start with Milky Ways, Three Musketeers, Jawbreakers, and the eternal bar vs. box candy debate… and somehow lands on Captain Lou Albano, entertainment psychology, and why the people who change culture are often misunderstood while they're doing it. A look at character versus chaos, insecurity versus strategy, and how larger-than-life personas are sometimes built as armor, not ego. Including stories about wrestling, Cyndi Lauper, Rock 'n Wrestling, Hollywood gatekeepers, and why so many great ideas get dismissed simply because they arrive before people are ready to see them. A reminder that vision often looks messy, confidence often masks fear, and the most interesting people are usually the ones who don't fit neatly into anyone else's box. HMSG Interview Darren Stein - "Parents"It was a real treat to chat with director Darren Stein about one of his favorite films - PARENTS (1989). This dark comedy, directed by Bob Balaban, explores the often toxic generational experiences a child can face when interacting with their family. A perfect film for the holiday season! More about our Guest: Darren is a director, screenwriter and film producer who grew up in the San Fernando Valley. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Darren co-wrote and directed his first feature film, SPARKLER which premiered at the Hamptons Film Festival in 1997 and featured Park Overall, Freddie Prinze Jr, Jamie Kennedy, Veronica Cartwright and Grace Zabriskie. Darren then went on to write and direct the dark teen comedy JAWBREAKER which premiered at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to become a cult classic. He has also written the final installment of VC Andrews' FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC movie series SEEDS OF YESTERDAY for Lifetime, produced the cult horror film ALL ABOUT EVIL and directed the teen comedy feature GBF (Gay Best Friend). Darren has been a producer and guest judge on seven seasons the Emmy-nominated reality competition series THE BOULET BROTHERS' DRAGULA on AMC.Support the show

The Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
