Bad Dreams - Teddy Swims
Let's dive into the fascinating world of nightmares! Believe it or not, those spooky dreams might actually have a silver lining. You see, bad dreams can serve as a sort of mental rehearsal, helping us prepare for real-life challenges and fears. Plus, they can be a way for our brains to process and make sense of stressful experiences. And get this – some experts even believe that facing our fears in dreams can help reduce anxiety in waking life. So, next time you wake up from a nightmare, remember, it might just be your brain's way of keeping you sharp and resilient! The long term consequences of Biden's policies are just now beginning to be realized. The left's ideological impact on foreign policy needs a closer look. Dreams tell us things, especially the bad ones. Sometimes there is a shut down after an arrest. Experts on Trump are now experts on tariffs. The CCP is behind it all. But who helped? Ukrainian nut bag runs amok. Hamas is all Israeli. The DEI runaround. Dispelling the myths. The logic of excluding small business from tariffs, but not the big guys. They need us, we don't need them. Staffing was done based on sexual preference, skin tone and gender. Congressional blather. They are planning something very dangerous, 911 level dangerous. Civil war is their desired outcome. False flag deep fakes to put the blame on MAGA. Gavin is taking California towards independence. Others are watching. South Korea impeachment crisis. Look for the girl with blue hair and a nose ring. Buying pot in the store and eggs on the street. It's time to start talking about how we connect. Trump's people are placed for a reason. You operate with electricity, and being around electronics has issues. Sad things are happening everywhere. Focus on your family and home, and stop being just a participant.
Once more into the poopy pit. Inside that mess we're aspiring to the rank of Dragonmaster, misunderstanding Jessica's social cues, hijacking the seas, letting Jessica cook in Silver Star Harmony, blowing up food, sleeping on the floor, getting my dinghy wet, better concealing the evil in our hearts, hitting Alex with a Trolley Problem, refusing to sign cleavage, suggesting a three way, repairing the marriage for the kid, avoiding hag sister friendship, debunking Fulari, and living a Total Elimination lifestyle. We wrap up #FANuary - where listeners chose what we watched across all our social media accounts - with Larry Cohen's 1976 classic GOD TOLD ME TO! Cohen's strange odyssey of a New York police detective whose investigation yields way more than he ever bargained for is truly a genius piece of cinema that only Larry Cohen could have created! Filled with an incredible cast (Academy Award winner Sandy Dennis, Andy Kaufman, Deborah Raffin, Tony Lo Bianco, and Richard Lynch from New World's DEATHSPORT, but, more importantly, BAD DREAMS) that rivals that of 1981's THE FOUR SEASONS, New World took two turns at releasing the film, which led to a fraught relationship between Cohen and New World head honcho Roger Corman., We discuss that along with other pressing questions, such as: how did Marc and Ryan's family feel about the TV show Space: 1999, what role Brad Dourif might have played, and debate whether walking barefoot in an airport is the same as doing so in a city. Don't miss out on our #FANuary finale! Just accept it, no questions! For all the shows in Someone's Favorite Productions Podcast Network, head here: https://www.someonesfavoriteproductions.com/

GIVĒON notes the natural flow of the song, making it replay-worthy. In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton address a powerful question posted in the Police, Fire, Military, and Families Facebook group: “If you have one of ‘those nights' with ‘those dreams' that set your mood for the day, how do you change it?” Difficult dreams can leave a lasting emotional impact (Amazon Affiliate), setting a negative tone for the entire day. Whether the dreams stem from job-related stress, trauma, or subconscious worries, learning how to reset and reclaim your mindset is essential for maintaining emotional balance and productivity. You'll gain five actionable strategies to shift your mood and take control of your day, even after the most challenging nights. How Dreams Can Influence Your Mood: Explore why vivid or distressing dreams can affect your emotional state, and why it's important to address these feelings rather than letting them linger. Five Suggestions to Combat the Emotional Impact of Difficult Dreams: 1. Start with Grounding Techniques: Example: Practice deep breathing, splash cold water on your face, or focus on a calming mantra to anchor yourself in the present moment. Why It's Beneficial: Grounding techniques can help reduce lingering stress or anxiety from the dream, allowing you to reset your mindset. 2. Reframe Your Thoughts: Example: Acknowledge the dream for what it is—a reflection of subconscious fears or stress—but remind yourself that it doesn't define your reality. Why It's Beneficial: Reframing helps you separate the emotional weight of the dream from your current circumstances. 3. Engage in Physical Activity: Example: Go for a morning jog, do yoga, or take a brisk walk outside to clear your mind and release tension. Why It's Beneficial: Exercise boosts endorphins, improves mood, and shifts focus away from the dream's emotional hold. 4. Talk About It with Someone You Trust: Example: Share the dream with your partner, a close friend, or a peer who understands the unique pressures of your work. Why It's Beneficial: Talking through the experience can help you process lingering emotions and gain perspective. 5. Create a Positive Morning Ritual: Example: Listen to uplifting music, practice gratitude journaling, or make your favorite breakfast to start the day on a brighter note. Why It's Beneficial: Positive rituals counteract the negative emotions from the dream and set the tone for a productive day. Why It's Important to Address Negative Moods Early: Learn how unaddressed emotions from dreams can snowball into stress or irritability, affecting your interactions and overall mindset. How These Strategies Foster Emotional Resilience: Discover how building a toolbox of techniques helps you quickly recover from difficult emotional experiences and stay focused on your goals. When to Seek Professional Help: Understand when recurring dreams or persistent negative moods might signal a need for additional support, such as counseling or therapy. Why This Matters: For first responders, difficult dreams can often reflect the high-stress, high-stakes nature of the job. Learning how to reset your mindset and reclaim your day is crucial for maintaining your emotional and mental health. This episode offers practical strategies to help you move forward with clarity and resilience. Constant Listeners, yes, we originally planned to drop our Bazaar of Bad Dreams coverage this week. For those not in the know, The Stephen King Archives is our Patreon exclusive imprint in which your Losers search the vault of Stephen King material – dusting off unpublished short stories, long-forgotten interviews, coffee-stained manuscripts, and alternate versions of your favorite tales. This particular entry was recorded in December 2021 - in conjunction with our Hearts in Atlantis coverage - - and sees us discussing Hearts in Suspension in full. Published in 2016 and edited by King's longtime mentor Jim Bishop, the book features an original essay by King entitled "Five to One, One in Five", four installments of "King's Garbage Truck", a reprint of King's novella "Hearts in Atlantis", 12 essays by fellow students and friends from King's college days, and a gallery of period-specific photographs and documents. Host Meg Wolitzer presents three works from an evening with author and New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast, inspired by Chast's new book I Must be Dreaming. “The Wife on Ambien,” by Ed Park, is a sort of late-night fever dream. It's read by John Fugelsang. In Tessa Hadley's “Bad Dreams,” images that begin in books envelop a family in real life. The reader is Rita Wolf. Tom Barbash's “Stay Up With Me” charts the rocky path of an old love affair. It's read by Jason Ralph. And throughout the episode, Chast describes her cartoons based on her own weird and hilarious dreams.
