What happens to career strategy, leadership, and professional growth when the traditional rules of the corporate game are rewritten in real time?  In this episode of TRUST ME I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING, I sit down with executive search expert, leadership advisor, and host of the Corporate Confessions podcast, Deepali Vyas. Known widely as the "Elite Recruiter," Deepali has spent 25 years advising Fortune 500 companies, hedge funds, and high-growth AI organizations on executive hiring and leadership strategy.  Deepali pulls back the curtain on the "unwritten rules" of hierarchical organizations and explains why the traditional chronological resume is completely dead in today's attention-deficit economy. She introduces a modern framework for career positioning, detailing how professionals can build "The Signal"—a powerful one-page personal narrative—and why tying your outcomes directly to the dollar is essential for survival.  We also dive deep into the rising era of the "Company of One," the crucial differences between mentorship and true sponsorship, and how human skills like storytelling and judgment become your ultimate agency in the age of Agentic AI.  Deepali shares insights on:• The Death of the Traditional Resume: Why a chronological autobiography fails to get noticed, and how to capture an employer's attention in six seconds using "The Signal".  • The "So What" Filter: A simple, high-impact framework to flip your resume bullet points from passive tasks into quantifiable business value.  • Advisor vs. Mentor vs. Sponsor: Delineating these three fluid yet distinct roles, and why assuming your manager is your mentor by default is a common career trap.  • The "Company of One" Era: How new graduates and professionals can use portfolio careers and skill-stacking to build independent influence and security.  • Overcoming the Intelligence Paradox: Why highly accomplished individuals frequently fall into analysis paralysis, and how executive judgment thrives under ambiguity.  Whether you're a recent graduate navigating an unstable market, an executive looking to pivot, or someone trying to protect your human agency in an automated world, Deepali's masterclass in career literacy provides an invaluable blueprint.  If you enjoyed this deep dive, please hit that subscribe button, leave a comment, and share this video with someone looking to scale their own vision!   --------------------------Chapters-00:00 Introduction01:32 Deciphering Success in a Disrupted World04:05 The Unwritten Rules of Corporate Culture07:35 Post-Pandemic Workforce and Changing Rules09:23 Why the Traditional Resume Is Dead12:11 Tying Your Value to the Dollar: Modern Resume Metrics14:14 Falling into Recruiting: Cowardly Resignations & Indian Parents15:49 Navigating Wall Street & Standing Out at Goldman Sachs17:30 Sponsor Break: Travelopod19:18 Advisor vs. Mentor vs. Sponsor: Delineating the Roles23:47 Learning from Mentorship Mistakes and taking action28:49 Sponsor Break: Timberdog29:19 Overcoming the "Intelligence Paradox" & The "So What" Filter32:53 Identity, Seasons of Career, and Merit36:55 Portfolio Careers & The Era of the "Company of One"40:50 Cultivating Trust & Why AI Will Never Replace Human Connection42:44 Wrap-up & Shoutouts

n this week's episode, we're reviewing Bad Words, the 2014 dark comedy where Jason Bateman plays Guy Trilby — a bitter, foul-mouthed adult man who finds a loophole in the rules and crashes a national spelling bee like the world's angriest eighth grader. Why? Revenge, abandonment issues, and apparently a deep need to emotionally scar children one word at a time. We dig into Bateman's directorial debut, the movie's uncomfortable humor, Catherine Hahn's chaotic journalist energy, Rohan Chand's surprisingly delightful performance as Chaitanya, and whether Guy's tiny little redemption arc is enough to make him lovable… or just slightly less awful. Along the way, we talk spelling bee trauma, bad parenting, wildly inappropriate jokes, questionable hotel room decisions, and why this movie somehow manages to be cringeworthy, funny, mean-spirited, and oddly heartfelt all at once. So grab your flashcards, lower your moral standards, and whatever you do…just don't look at us.

What Is Our Lineage, Actually? | Tradition vs. Innovation

For the Love of Yoga with Nish the Fish

Towards the end of 2024, we gave a talk called What's Our Lineage? and then in May of 2025, we presented a sequel called Our Tantrik Lineage. Both these talks are my attempt to reflect upon and understand the diverse influences that pour like so many streams into my lectures and spiritual life. These two talks are also a commentary on how complex and nuanced the lineage of Sri Ramakrishna is! But even having presented these ideas over the course of the last three years, and even having given about 21 lectures on the the role of the guru in the Tāntrik tradition over the course of the last six years (they're all here in this playlist), there's still some confusion about who I am, whether or not I have the right to do what I do and whether or not my views are based. And in the interest of having a broader discussion on responsibility, integrity and accountability in the spiritual world, especially on the internet, we present this talk "What is Our Lineage, Actually" to reflect upon the tension between sticking to tradition and innovating beyond it! In this talk, our subtlest & most nuanced yet, we dicusss mīmāmsa, the reverential & yet critical reading of a sacred text with an appeal to Yāska's rules of grammar & etymology (Nirukta) before asking: are these still relevant and valuable today? In other words, do the rules still apply when we read texts now in the modern era?And more importantly, which texts should be read reverentially? Is there a sense in which the texts that are considered authoritative and sacred back then no longer hold the same place in light of modernity? And perhaps an even more cutting question is this: is there even a place for logic, grammar, etymology (i.e the analytical mind) in the study and practice of sacred texts like Vedas & Tantras? And if we don't think there is, then, what tools are left for us when it comes to discernment in our study and practice? More importantly, even if we accept Niruka (the rules of Sanskrit grammar and etymology), when we comment on a text is it ever exegetical (an unbiased attempt to explain what the text is saying) or is it necessarily, given the confirmation bias that we all carry, eisegesis (explaining a text to promote and support what we already believe). Besides these questions above, we ask a series of 8 difficult questions about the tensions between sticking to tradition and innovating beyond it! More importantly, I present a few different stories from our history to show some divergences between Gurus and their disciples:1. Ramanuja & Yamunacarya 2. Chaitanya, Krishna Bharati & Ishvara Puriand some more contemporary examples3. Vivekananda & Ramakrishna4. Chaitanyananda (Ayaji) & Amritananda Saraswati5. Through encounters with Goswamis and sacred lineages, visits to the Rādhā-vallabha and Rādhā-ramaṇa temples, and time at the mystic Tatiyā Sthān—where the "soft sand" of Vrindavan is worshiped by off-the-grid sādhus—a vision of devotion emerges that isn't driven by rules or rituals, but by intimate love that captures Krishna's heart. With warmth, humor, and insight, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore the four major Vrindavan bhakti lineages, why Śrī Chaitanya empowered the Six Goswamis to ground ecstasy in Vedānta, and how history, politics, and bhakti unexpectedly converged in Vrindavan through figures like Akbar, Aurangzeb, the Rajputs, and Shivaji. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? In this episode, Jacob Kyle sits down with his longtime friend and collaborator Nataraj Chaitanya, whose early creative influence helped shape the founding vision of Embodied Philosophy and even inspired the name CHITHEADS.Ten years after those first late-night conversations about yoga, consciousness, and modern spirituality, Jacob and Nataraj reunite to explore what it means to live a tantric life—one that embraces devotion, awareness, creativity, and radical honesty as integral parts of the spiritual path. From the story of Nataraj's early encounter with mantra practice as a young gay teenager in Virginia to his life as a teacher, devotee, and lineage-holder in the meditation tradition of Bhagavan Nityananda, this conversation moves through the full terrain of sādhana as both an art and a science of awakening.Together they discuss:The origins of Embodied Philosophy and the early spirit of CHITHEADSSādhana as alchemy: how awareness and aliveness generate bliss (ānanda)Aesthetics and yoga: why āsana is more like theatre than therapyLineage and transmission: the living power of a genuine spiritual traditionDevotion and nonduality: giving reality a personality and meeting the divine in all formsQueerness as contemplative opportunity: living between identities as a form of freedomPilgrimage as a way of life: learning to meet every moment as the Goddess herselfThroughout the conversation, the two reflect on their parallel journeys—academic, creative, and spiritual—and on the importance of rebuilding Embodied Philosophy around its original vision: to make philosophy and practice inseparable, and to honor both the scholar and the practitioner within each of us.The episode also marks a new chapter for Embodied Philosophy: Nataraj will be joining the faculty of Wisdom School and Sādhana School, contributing his decades of experience in yoga, mantra, and contemplative education to a new generation of seeker-teachers.This is a conversation about devotion, transformation, and friendship—about what it means to practice in a world that needs both scholarship and surrender, intellect and love.Guest Bio: Nataraj ChaitanyaNataraj Chaitanya has led retreats, workshops, kīrtans, and teacher training programs around the world for more than twenty years. After beginning a daily meditation and yoga practice at the age of thirteen, Nataraj immersed himself in the teachings of yoga and tantra and, by sixteen, began sharing these nectarean teachings with others. Over two decades, he has inspired countless seekers to take up a committed spiritual practice and has dedicated his life to bringing the wisdom of yoga into everyday life. His love of teaching is evident in the devotional and enthusiastic spirit with which he leads his sessions, creating environments where people from all walks of life can directly contact the fullness of their own Being. In January 2019, Nataraj became a formal initiate and custodian of the meditation tradition of Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri, under Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shankarananda, one of Swami Muktananda's senior disciples. He currently lives and teaches in Melbourne, Australia.Episode LinksFollow Nataraj Chaitanya: Website →Instagram →Explore Embodied Philosophy:Wisdom School →Sādhana School →Watch CHITHEADS on YouTube →

Chaitanya and Nitai are so merciful that they don't consider any offenses. That's one of the reasons that Śrīla Prabhupāda mentions that when we approach Kṛṣṇa, we first have to approach Nitāi and Gaurāṅga. One of the names of Lord Nityānanda is adoṣa-darśī. Doṣa means a fault, and adoṣa means no fault, and darśī means to see. So, what his name means is he's the one who doesn't see any faults in others. He only sees the good and tries to uplift all living entities. So Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga is a befitting name for these Deities because they've come here to Los Altos to perform their pastimes and to give everyone who comes here an opportunity to chant, dance, feast, and read the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. And even if they're busy, or they're working, if they have a little bit of association with Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga, they'll become transcendentalized and begin to take to the process of devotional service. So this is a great day of celebration. We were feeling great happiness driving over here today, knowing that the Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga would appear in your home. When I went in the back room to see them, they were so blissful. It reminded me of the song of kevala ānanda-kanda. The whole process of worshiping them, or keeping them in your home and just chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa together, is so sublime and effective that anyone who takes to this will become uplifted. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
