Acts 13:44-52 44 The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him. 46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'” 48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.49 And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. 50 But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. 51 But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Key Words: Jews, Crowds, Boldly, Necessary, Light, Gentiles, Glorifying, Dust Keystone Verse: I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. John 17 is Jesus' longest prayer in all the Gospels. Think of all the mornings and nights that Jesus spent praying to His Father. It is here, in John 17, that we get a glimpse into the content of those prayers. Jesus was the most selfless person to ever live. He spent His ministry pouring into and praying for others. Yet Jesus also prayed for Himself. John 17:1-5 provides a fascinating look into Jesus' own prayer requests for Himself and thus what mattered most to Him. As Christ followers, what matters most to Jesus should matter most to us. Take-Home Message: The Lord's greatest prayer reveals His greatest priorities. "Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.”—Revelation 2:16 This week, on All of Life for God, Paul Washer levies his final three indictments against the modern church: that we have abandoned the call for holiness, ignored the authority of the Scriptures in our homes, and listened to unqualified shepherds. In this episode, I'm unpacking the weight of hustle culture—especially how it shows up for first-gen Latinas like me. That constant pressure to be productive, to prove we belong, to carry our families and represent our communities—it's heavy. And let's be honest, it can burn us out. I talk about what it feels like to be emotionally tied to expectations we never signed up for, and how I'm learning to redefine success in a way that actually feels good. Not performative, not just for show—but real, aligned, and rooted in self-care. Because a life that just looks successful isn't enough. Welcome to the show! Those past relationships that seem to have a special place in your heart, anyone come to mind? I know putting someone who's no longer in your life into a special place can feel warm and fuzzy, but is it just an escape? When we aren't finding meaning in the present, we often escape—imagining an ex was "the one who got away" or reminiscing about "better times" that weren't actually better. Who were you back then? In reality, yes reality. What was the meaning of the relationship that ended at the time? Believe me, you're not missing out on some magical connection—you're feeling a void in the present. Meaning can be found here in the present, real meaning not a fantasized version of the past. In this episode, Tracy explores: * Glorifying past relationships–why do we do it? * What is truth vs reality? * Why do you want to detach from idealized memories? The importance of fulfilling meaning for yourself. "It feels so much better to be yourself and to be here in the moment and creating the life that you actually want, than it does to be in the past." ~ Tracy Crossley

The Mass is the fuel for our life in the world...and our life in the world is an extension of the Mass. The words, "The Lord be with you" are meant to prepare us for great things...dangerous things. When we hear them at the end of Mass, they prepare us to bring what we've done at the altar out to the world. "Compare [God's] attributes with what men usually trust, and see how infinitely they transcend; how much more reason there is to rely on God's attributes than on riches, strength, princes."—David Clarkson This week on All of Life for God, we are meditating on two of God's glorious attributes: mercy and grace. Join us for the next four weeks as Pastor Terry Johnson recounts the wonders of God's unmerited kindness to sinners and sufferers. Do you want to go deeper in your study of God's character? In my work, I'm always supporting people on their journey to better metabolic health, and it's fascinating how new themes emerge each week. This week, I noticed many patients getting caught up in what I call the “vocal minority.” These are the people who share their extreme results with medications—often loudly and visibly—leading others to feel like their own experiences are "less than." This comparison can leave them discouraged and dissatisfied with their progress, as they measure themselves against these atypical stories. In this episode, I discuss how comparing ourselves to the vocal minority can derail our progress. Instead of fixating on extreme results, I invite you to focus on your unique health journey. I'll share real patient stories that highlight steady, meaningful progress and offer practical strategies for setting realistic expectations and achieving attainable goals. Tune in for tips on shifting your mindset, empowering your health journey, and surrounding yourself with positive influences. Don't let the noise drown out your success—join me to discover how to prioritize what truly matters!ReferencesBody Weight Percentage Reduction = (Weight Lost ÷ Starting Weight) × 100Audio Stamps00:30 - Dr. Rentea urges listeners to focus on their unique health journeys rather than comparing themselves to the few with extreme, atypical results.03:52 - Dr. Rentea reflects on a patient's steady progress, emphasizing the importance of focusing on real, personal health gains instead of comparing to unrealistic portrayals online.06:40 - Dr. Rentea shares data on weight loss expectations with certain medications, urging patients to focus on realistic, evidence-based goals and consult their physician to track healthy progress.09:45 - We learn how successful patients adapt to their health journeys by creating practical solutions, staying flexible, and continuously finding ways to incorporate healthy habits into their busy lives.14:55 - We hear Dr. Rentea's top tip for stopping comparison from weighing you down and affecting progress.21:20 - Dr. Rentea shares an update about the January round of The 30/30 Program.Quotes“Comparison is just the biggest killer.”“They get so much attention. They are so vocal. Yet they are the minority.”“Why am I obsessed with you not comparing? Because you lose sight of all the amazing things you can do for yourself.”“If you have achieved a total of a 5 percent body weight reduction, it is working for you.”“I would really recommend over time that instead of looking at pounds lost, you look at total body weight loss percentage.”“There is no, ‘I hit the jackpot, get the answer, and then never again have to think about this.'”“Stop following people that make you feel horrible about yourself. You should feel uplifted with who you're following.”All of the information on this podcast is for general informational purposes only.
