Delivered by Elyanne from the Parish of Saint James in the Diocese of Surabaya, Indonesia. Genesis 49: 29-32; 50: 15-26a; Rs psalm 105: 1-2.3-4.6-7; Matthew 10: 24-33.TRANSPARENCY Our meditation today is entitled:Transparency. When people talk about transparency or openness, it is like lookingat an attractive girl. Today more and more people want to speak and understand whattransparency is all about. With the support of digital media, there are no morebarriers that limit personal data. Personal or group information is easilytracked through the internet. Any mode of work of exraordinary crime is easilyknown by Syber technology, so people are very careful about their digitalfootprints. Let us see this following illustration. In the past, the first human beings hid themselves after they fell into sin butthen God found them out. Then in His days, Jesus said that there is nothingclosed that will not be opened, there is nothing hidden that will not be known. These two descriptions may be considered somethings of the ancient time.Meanwhile, most of us today tend to think that hiding, being closed, or in secretis the personal business of every person. There are secret techniques andsystems that are used as if there is no human person, even God himself can knowit. That's how things are perceived, sothat people are so free to do as easily and promptly as they are in closed orhidden places. One hidden or secret act successfully done, will continue toproduce another hidden act and so on. Someone saw his fellow did evil  in hidden, but he was silent or afraid tospeak out, or even collaborated in that evil deed. Those who do not know tohide, learn from those who are experienced or experts in hiding. This is thebiggest challenge to transparency. The secret of the salvation for thefamily of Israel was kept for a long time by Joseph, who at that time becamethe chief official in Egypt and who had gathered all his family from Canaan.Towards his death, he revealed the secret that in proper time God would guidethe Israelites out of Egypt, to return to their ancestral homeland. With theseexamples, God actually wants to teach us that transparency is His divine will. The essence of God is openness. In the Trinity itself there is communication, and the most importat openness of God for His people is the incarnation, whenGod descended from His throne and became a human person. Actually, the purpose of transparencyor openness is to produce and maintain the truth. Philosophy teaches thissimple lesson: the absence of truth is a fault or untruth. We must also say thesame: no openness means closedness or concealment. So actually in the beginningthere was only truth and openness. Faults and closedness exist because there isno truth and transparency. Let's pray. In the nameof the Father ... O Lord of truth and justice, when we are unable to livehonestly, fill us with the Spirit of truth. Our Father who art in heaven ... Inthe name of the Father...

“The goal is to keep injected CO₂ safely in place - that's why understanding fault networks is so critical.” In this episode, host Andrew Geary welcomes David Lubo-Robles, lead author of The Leading Edge paper on detecting small-offset faults for carbon capture and storage (CCUS). David explains how advanced seismic attributes, without relying on machine learning, can help geoscientists better map faults that influence the movement of CO₂ underground. His insights demonstrate the importance of applied geophysics in enabling safer and smarter reservoir management in the era of climate solutions. KEY TAKEAWAYS > Advanced Seismic Attributes Matter: Multispectral coherence and volumetric aberrancy help visualize subtle faults often missed by traditional methods. > Fault Mapping Is Critical for CCUS: Understanding both large and small faults reduces geological risk and improves CO₂ storage safety. > Applied Geophysics Is Essential: From modeling to monitoring, geophysicists play a vital role in every stage of a successful CCUS project. CALL TO ACTION Want to dig deeper into how seismic attributes enhance fault detection for carbon storage? Read David's paper in The Leading Edge, “Detection of small-offset faults in seismic data: An application for carbon capture and storage.” Whether you're in CCUS, oil and gas, or geothermal, this workflow offers tools you can apply today. Read at https://doi.org/10.1190/tle44040276.1. GUEST BIO David Lubo-Robles is a Research Scientist and Algorithm and Computing Lead for the Attribute Assisted Seismic Processing & Interpretation (AASPI) Consortium at the University of Oklahoma. David received a B.S. in geophysical engineering from Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in geophysics from the University of Oklahoma. His research interests include the development and application of innovative tools using artificial intelligence, quantitative interpretation, and seismic attribute analysis to delineate geologic features suitable for energy and climate solutions. In this cask-strength conversation with spirits judge, educator, and master blender Nancy Fraley, some of the topics we discuss include: Nancy's journey to spirits blending, from Harvard Divinity School, to maritime law, to her apprenticeship under the legendary brandy maker Germain Robin. The story of the first Cigar Blend Bourbon (developed, of course, by Nancy) and how she weaves together factors like fermentation style, maturation humidity, cask finishes, and more to achieve the elusive flavor note known as rancio. A crash course in blending theory, which draws on architectural and corporeal metaphors to describe how to build flavor profiles in barrel-aged spirits Why the terms “master distiller” and “master blender” have become watered down in recent decades, which underscores the importance of humble practice day after day, year after year, in the pursuit of world-class distillates. We also explore the tension between the intellect and the instinct in spirits blending, using Nancy's experiences to illustrate how and when to let the wisdom of the body triumph over the chaos of “monkey mind” and the dance of contingency. Along the way, we divulge the connection between French brandy and rotting pheasant, trace the story of an all-but-forgotten yeast strain, share how you can sign up to taste some of the rankest, most flawed distillates in Nancy's “Nosing for Faults” class,  And much, much more. This episode was made possible with editing and sound design by Samantha Reed, whiskey blending insights and some delicious pours brought to you by Nancy Fraley, and support from The American Distilling Institute.
