How can we move from just going through the motions to genuinely living out God's love in our everyday lives?"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." (Romans 12:9-10, NIV)This week Ps Aaron shared a message exploring how to live transformed lives in response to God's mercy. The message underscores the importance of authentic love in action and being driven by righteous motives and empowered by His Spirit as we prepare for what God desires to do through us.Reflection Questions:1. What steps can you take to ensure your actions are a true reflection of God's love, rather than mere obligations?2. How can you make room in your heart and life to practice genuine hospitality?3. In what ways can you demonstrate humility and service in your relationships this week?Further Reading:"Reaching Out" by Henri Nouwen"The Practice of Hospitality" by Tim Chester"A Commentary on Romans" by Leon MorrisThank you for joining us. Ps. Aaron begins our "Nothing Is Impossible" series with a powerful message about the transformative power of consecration, showing how aligning our lives with God's will enables us to unlock spiritual blessings and make the impossible possible. Through the lens of Ephesians, Galatians, and Romans, it highlights that our sonship in Christ calls us to a deeper level of submission and holiness. As we embrace this consecration, we align with the redemption and purpose that Jesus' sacrifice has already secured, allowing us to manifest His power and presence more fully in our lives. Thank you for joining us as we continue to dig into our MOVE series. To dig deeper, read Acts 10:1-48This week Ps Aaron brought a powerful word on Encounters. The last piece in our series on ‘Love on the Move'. Our key statement in this series states that “love moves as divine mercy intersects with the opportunity of human need, bringing redemptive victory through encounters with Jesus and His Kingdom”. In this powerful message, we explore the transformative power of encounters with God through the story of Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10. We're reminded that Christianity at its core is not just about doctrines, but about life-changing encounters with the living Christ. These encounters challenge our narratives, expand our understanding of God's love, and push us beyond our comfort zones. The message emphasises that God's love knows no boundaries, and we're called to be vessels of that limitless love. We're encouraged to cultivate a life of ongoing encounters through hunger for God, obedience, curiosity, and surrender. This isn't about seeking momentary spiritual highs, but about allowing each encounter to reshape our hearts and lives for God's kingdom purposes.REFLECTION QUESTIONS1. How might our personal limitations on God's love be restricting the encounters He wants to have with us and through us?2. How can we develop a greater sense of curiosity in our faith journey, and why is this important for growth?3. How can we as a church community support and encourage one another in cultivating lives of ongoing encounter with God?4. How can we better steward the encounters we have with God, ensuring they shape our daily lives like Blaise Pascal's experience?"Thanks again for joining us. In Acts 2:1-4 we see the transformative power of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. Emphasizing God's redeeming and restorative nature, Ps. Aaron unpacks scriptures like Ezekiel 39:29 and Joel 2:25, reminding us of His promise to restore what has been lost. The message encourages us to evaluate our hopes, as highlighted in Proverbs 13:12, and to cultivate a lifestyle of immediate, active faith, echoing Jesus' declaration in John 11:25-26 that He is the Resurrection and the Life right now. Ps. Aaron unpacks the transformative power of receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. Drawing from Matthew 3:11 and John 16:6-12, we learned how the Holy Spirit is with us for salvation, in us for sanctification, and upon us for ministry. Acts 1:8 reminds us of the power we receive when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, empowering us to be bold witnesses for Christ. Let's embrace this divine empowerment and live out our faith with passion and purpose, filled continually with the Spirit. Thank you for joining us as Ps Aaron unpacks the Opportunities element of our focus this year, ‘Love is on the Move'To dig deeper, read Luke John 4:5-19, 25-35This interaction between Jesus and the Samaritan woman shows us that our calling is found in everyday opportunities. Simple opportunities that have the potential for profound impact. By following Jesus' example we too can learn to lean into these divine opportunities. First, we must hold the conviction that wherever we are God is up to something, either in you or in someone else. Our job is to have faith, pay attention and be ready to obey. Second, opportunities are not without obstacles. Jesus is willing to go to extraordinary lengths and cross all kinds of barriers to minister to those in need.At the end of this interaction, Jesus quotes a proverb, ""Don't you have a saying, 'It's still four months until harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest"". The point of citing the proverb is to contrast it with what is happening now. Jesus has come, something is happening in our world and to our world, the waiting time is over, the time of harvest has arrived! The time of "opportunity" is now here. That "something" that is happening is resurrection. Resurrection isn't just contained to one moment in time, it continues to happen to our world and to your life. Therefore, we can be confident that we all have opportunities in our day where God wants to move in and through us.Resurrection life is at work to re-order everything around a new centre. Giving birth to new priorities, a new pace, a new posture, and new passions. It is this re-ordering that readies us for Kingdom opportunities. Paul describes it like this; ""To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me"" (Colossians 1:29). I wonder how much of world gets changed when this is how we pursue the opportunities in our life. If we would strenuously contend in prayer. Strenuously contend in practice. Strenuously contend in allowing love to be on the move.Reflection Questions1. In my everyday life am I seeing obstacles or opportunities?2. Is my pace, priorities, posture and passion centred around Jesus? 3. Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-15. What does it look like for you to live compelled by love? What change would you expect to see in your life and in the lives of those around vou? 4. Spend time praying for eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts ready to respond to the opportunities God wants to give you this week. Thanks again for joining us. Our focus always has been and always will be Jesus. As we kick off this season as a church in our new home, Ps. Aaron reminds us that we're called to radically and relentlessly love God and people and to prioritize intimate encounters with Jesus over mere religious attendance. Let's embrace His presence, pursue His will, and demonstrate His power in our lives. For more info about Citipointe Church Northern Colorado visit CitipointeNoCo.com
Thank you for joining us as we kick off our 'MOVE' series. Ps Aaron unpacks the Mercy element of our focus this year, 'Love is on the Move'.To dig deeper, read Luke 10:25–37.The key to understanding this parable is the interaction between Jesus and the religious teacher. When the religious leader asks “Who is my neighbour?”, he is asking, Jesus, where can I draw the line? The good Samaritan is a story that tests our understanding of love. It confronts and unmasks any false limits we have put on love that would restrict our ability to release love and mercy into our world. Mercy is love moving in response to human need in an unexpected and undeserved way. Our task as followers of Jesus is to ruthlessly attend to any structures in our heart or mind that would prevent us from following Jesus' command to “go and do likewise”, to go and show mercy to those in need. Psychologist James Hollis says every day when a man or woman wakes up two shadows are standing over their bed, fear and apathy. These two shadows limit mercy, the flow of love in our life. In our world fear often looks like suspicion or mistrust and has the power to shape the way we see others, and how we react to moments of injustice. Fear, turns our hearts inwards and limits our ability to extend mercy but love moves through a heart that has learnt to turn outward. Spiritual apathy isn't inaction, it is this idea of being numb to the meaningful, but “alive” to the trivial. The word the early church fathers used to describe this was “acedia”, and it is spiritual resistance to spiritual progress. Acedia seeks to distract you from those things that will bring us life, stealing your joy, and reducing your faith to a passionless grind. How do we confront the limits put on our love and mercy by fear and apathy? The gospel is our cure. The parable of the good Samaritan humbles us with the mercy God requires so we can receive the mercy God offers. The Gospel will re-posture our hearts from facing inward to outward. The gospel will awaken our hearts with a fiery and holy zeal.REFLECTION QUESTIONSTo what degree has fear limited our ability to love? To what degree is fear shaping the way we see others? Where does apathy show up most in my life? How does it hinder me from living a full, kingdom of God kind of life? How does apathy limit love from moving in and through my life? Has fear and apathy turned you “inward”? Do you need to repent? If the gospel is the cure for fear and apathy, what can you sing, watch, listen to, read, talk about, and celebrate that will remind you of the gospel and its power and turn your heart outward? Thanks again for joining us. Remembering what God has done is key to strengthen our faith as we look to the future. Drawing from Joshua 4:1-7, we're reminded of the twelve stones that served as a memorial of God's miraculous help. Reflecting on passages like Isaiah 46:9 and Psalm 103, we see the importance of keeping our hearts tender toward Jesus. By remembering, we prepare ourselves for future challenges and re-engage with the limitless possibilities of God's faithfulness. Thank you for joining us as we wrap up our 'Keeping it Real' series on Ephesians with a Q&A panel. Some great questions and rich answers! In Ps Aarons closing words he reminds us of the transformative power of first love in our spiritual journey. From the key scripture, Revelation 2:1-5, where Jesus addresses the church in Ephesus, we're challenged to remember, repent, and return to our first love for Christ. This parallels our own lives, where the initial excitement of faith can sometimes fade amidst life's challenges. He drew on the analogy of smelling freshly baked garlic bread to illustrate how God is stirring up a hunger for His presence in the church today. We're encouraged to examine our hearts and respond to this invitation for renewal. The message emphasises that true impact comes from intimacy with God, not just good deeds. As we reflect on our own faith journey, we're invited to rekindle that first love, restructure our lives around Jesus, and return to a place of awe and wonder in our relationship with Him.REFLECTIONSWhat stood out to you most from the Panel Q&A? What will you apply to your life from that?Reflect on your own faith journey. Can you describe a time when you experienced "first love" for Jesus? What was that like? Has anything changed since then?Ps Aaron mentioned three steps: Remember, Repent, and Return. Which of these do you feel you need to focus on most right now? What could that look like?Set aside 15 minutes each day this week for uninterrupted prayer, focusing on rekindling your love for Jesus. Thanks again for joining us. Jesus teaches in Luke 17:1-5 that offenses are inevitable, but our response should be forgiveness, even if it requires forgiving the same person multiple times a day. We are reminded to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23) and seek a pure heart to see God (Matthew 5:8). Ultimately, embracing love and forgiveness as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:5 and Colossians 3:13 allows us to live unoffendable, reflecting Christ's example. Grace, through Jesus Christ, empowers us to progress forward. John 1:17 and Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches us that grace saves us, justifies us, teaches us, and enables us to thrive in God's power. This transformative grace moves us from death to life, from condemnation to righteousness, from the chains of sin to freedom in Christ, and from striving in our own strength to thriving in the Spirit. Embrace this grace and step boldly into the future God has for you. For more info about Citipointe Church Northern Colorado visit CitipointeNoCo.com

All across scripture we see an emphasis placed on altars. They were a representation of an exchange, a meeting with the Father. It was a symbol of worship, prayer, sacrifice, obedience, maybe even desperation. Ps. Aaron encourages us to build an altar of worship in our lives as we pursue intimacy with the Father.
