We Need To Talk About TylerTyler Perry is a movie & tv, global icon & black billionaire.. For over 20 years, Tyler has been writing, directing, producing his own work, specifically to the Black Community with varying degrees of success. However, the success has come at a price: many of his products are often harshly, yet understandably criticized, and many of his narratives have sparked debate in the community he says he loves so much. Hosts, Alexus Bertrand and Roger Turner believe that we critique the things we love. So, we love Tyler Perry but there is trouble in paradise.

The hosts of Brunch, Blaze and Babble, Roger Turner and Alexus Bertrand love a good movie. With summer already underway, we talk about one of our favorite genres of movies: action movies. More specifically, "army of one" (usually called "one man army" but a more inclusive title was needed) movies. Action movies in which a singular protagonist, with little to no assistance, takes on insurmountable odds to save the day.In this episode the hosts will discuss each of their top 5 Army of One movies. Alexus and Roger talk about some old movies, some new movies and a couple you've probably never heard of...so take notes.

It was 60 years ago today, at 12:30 PM local Dallas Time that those terrible shots rang out. I was only 16 months old when it happened. Welcome to a special extra episode of Spinning My Dad's Vinyl. My dad's collection is known for its extensive and eclectic mix of music and other albums. This is one of those Other Albums. My dad was a big enough fan of the 35th president of the United States that he had two memorial records in his collection. I already featured the other one on President's Day 2021 in Volume 8: JFK The Presidential Years. This one is really special. And I will be playing it in its entirety.  This recording is a memorial tribute produced and broadcast by radio station WMCA, New York on Friday November 22, 1963. Just hours after John F. Kennedy's assassination. You will hear highlights of speeches made by JFK, including his entire inaugural address. The broadcast was narrated by Ed Brown. It was written by Martin Plissner. Produced by M.L. Oberstein, and directed by Roger Turner, the director of news and public Affairs. The recorded speech material is from the files of Radio Press International. So get ready to hear one of the greatest orators and politicians of our time, only to have his time with us ended early in A Special Extra Volume: 60 Years Since JFK's Assassination.  Credits and copyrights John Fitzgerald Kennedy – A Memorial Album Label: Premier – 2099 Format: Vinyl, LP, Album Released: 1963 Genre: Non-Music Style: Speech, Spoken Word I do not own the rights to this music.
